Be careful. Apparently Lowes hires a third party that does all their weekend deliveries and installations. They say they have no control over them and that the regular Lowes installers are better, but are only available on weekdays. If they had told me that when I bought them, I would have requested a weekday delivery. The third party people showed up and were rude. They dropped off our new appliances without setting them up, leveling them Etc. Then I found in my driveway plastic bags and cardboard, and 11 one inch screws. Glad I noticed them before anyone punctured a tire. They did not do what we paid for. The way the manager talked it sounds like this is not the first time. I am very disappointed at the customer service people today. Me and my husband bought a patio furniture that we bought yesterday that was suppose to be delivered today. Upon calling them they had no record showing we had purchased any item. I got passed around 5 times between customer service before someone hung up on me. This place is good for business for HOME DEPOT. It really made me appreciate Home Depot's customer service. I need 2 pallets of stone blocks totaling 280 stone blocks. Since I only see one and a half I went to customer service to inquire about it, who sent me to the pro desk in which a little girl was working and didn't even bat an eye. Her friend signaled to her that she was going to lunch and without asking if I needed anything she went to the regular register and left me there staring at the wall. After about 10min it's I left and went to the regular register and a man came into the pro service desk at which time I had picked up 2 bags of concrete to take. When I approached him he asked if I needed help instead of ringing up my concrete. I told him I need the concrete and asked about the stone, and he said he couldn't help me, that I had to go to garden for that and ask someone there. THERE WAS NO ONE TO HELP AT THE GARDEN CENTER, so here I am waiting in line again....... If Home Depot had these stones I would've left already. Worst customer service and I spend more time at these places than my own home. Definitely don't like Lowe's anymore. read more

Update on 2/14/12: I'm adding a star since the last time I was here the employees were very helpful. Several people asked me if I needed help finding anything and were very courteous. I hope I can keep adding stars. Keep it up, Lowes! I'd love to love this store. Previous review: Beautiful new store, but service can be quite hit or miss. Emphasis on miss lately. I've had fairly good luck with the staff who work in the paint department, but not so much with several of the sales associates. Last week I purchased 2 small space heaters online at 3:00pm and went to the store at 5:00pm. Lowes guarantees on their website that any orders you place online for in store pickup will be ready in 20 minutes. When I got there my order was not ready, the gentleman behind the counter had no idea what was going on, and I actually had to find my order and bring them up to the counter myself. Great service, huh? Another time I went there recently looking for something, I practically had to beg for attention from an associate. I stared at one of the employees at very close range for minutes, and they did not even turn their head. They were too busy talking to their friends. Ultimately the person I asked for help told me what I needed was in one of two aisles and pointed towards them. I looked in both aisles twice but what I wanted was nowhere to be found. Whenever I have gone to Home Depot, a staff member approaches me immediately asking if I need help. If I do, they TAKE ME TO WHAT I NEED. I've never been in a store where employees avoided eye contact with customers so much. You'd think in our economy when jobs are difficult to come by, they would have better employees! Not quite. I placed the order online and specifically left a note in the special instruction section stating that I need the items to be delivered to my bedrooms. On the delivery day, the person delivered the 30 boxes of flooring only left them on the curbside and said he's not responsible of moving them inside my house. That is fine if the delivery fee I paid doesn't include moving the flooring into my rooms. But Lowes should have let me know if that's the case because I've left the note when I placed the order. What's worse is that when I contacted an representative on Lowes.com, I was told that the delivery team is supposed to move the flooring inside my house where I wanted them to be. But the representative said she cannot do anything, and suggested me to contact the local store who delivered the flooring. And of course the local store said they are not responsible to move the flooring inside my house. Now I am stuck with 30 heavy boxes on my curbside and possible rain tomorrow morning... This is my first time buying stuff from Lowes and I regret. I will not make such mistake again. read more

If I could give this store a 0 I would! The lack of follow through and customer service is greatly lacking at all levels in the Lowell, MA store. I am still waiting for a washer and dryer that was supposed to be delivered on December 1 but through a series of incompetence due to know follow through or keeping me informed as to status, I am still waiting. The company Lowe's contracts with XPO for delivery and installation finally showed up yesterday only to leave and not install the washer and dryer and promised to return and never did. The delivery people were extremely rude and had no customer service skills and did not keep their promise even with offering them a large tip to return! If you are in the market for an appliance I would strongly urge you to look at local appliance store with good ratings as they fully understand that a happy customer will refer others and return in the future. i had to order a driveway gate not allowed to pick up because of covid 19 got delivery date for wedensday even recieved robo call tuesday evening confirming delivery. then everything went BAD!. no delivery! tracking just said" on truck out for delivery. We ordered a refrigerator online. They changed the delivery date a few times, not an issue under the current COVID situation. On Thursday May 28, received a text and and an email saying the fridge would be delivered on Sunday May 31, 2020 with a window of 8AM-8PM (damn big window!!). On Sunday we tried to call Lowe's to verify delivery. After a half hour, reaching someone in curbside pickup who said the "fridge is on the truck". Well, by 8PM not a call, text or email and the fridge wasn't not delivered. Nothing on the website either. Called on Monday morning, asked why it wasn't delivered and the response was "I don't know". But even though the fridge "was on the truck" delivery was rescheduled until July. So the people who work here are both incompetent and liars. Won't go here again!! read more

I live down the street from Lowe's in Lowell, MA. This store does not staff cashiers other than one that watches over the self checkouts and if she/he is busy you're out of luck. The service desk is always swamped but a manager is never in sight. I purchased an anti-skid stair tread for $6 amongst many other things last month. I got home and found that while I had everything else the stair tread was missing. I returned on my lunch hour the following day and spent 45 minutes waiting for a Loss Prevention employee to review videotape (?). She did not return but called the service desk to inform them that she saw the cashier put the item in my basket and I would not be receiving a refund or replacement. I left with Lowe's having both my money and my stair tread. My 45 minutes wasted was worth much more than a measly $6. Obviously this Loss Prevention employee has no concept of business as she interfered with their sales figures that day. I ended up ordering over $500 of them on Amazon and will be ordering more for our other offices. On another day I brought items to the self checkout (because they don't staff live cashiers). I rung everything up myself and at the end of my order I had a few items on clearance. When they were scanned they rung up the original price and not the sale price. With no cashiers, staff or managers around I ended up leaving the entire purchase there and left for Home Depot. Just this past weekend I chanced going there as I was in a rush and bought some spray paint. I got home, used one can and the 2nd can only dripped out covering myself and the can with paint. I promptly returned to the store and stood in the long line at the service desk. A supervisor came out and asked me what I was waiting for and I showed him the can covered in paint inside my bag. He took the bag and told me to go get another one. When I returned to the service desk he was gone and the line was even longer. I got back in line and stood there waiting and waiting. At one point a gentleman came in and cut the line and went to the next available service rep (at register #4). She told him that he had cut the entire line but then proceeded to allow him to conduct his business while everyone he cut just watched. A few kinder customers saw that I had been there already and was returning with my item and they told me I could move ahead of them. At that point I had waited so long I just walked out of the store with the replacement can of spray paint in one hand and my receipt in the other in case I was stopped. I had finally had enough of this place and placed a call to their complaint dept. The current store manager Dave called me today to apologize and tell me that I could ask for his assistance next time I was in. He also informed me that he had taken over for past managers about 6 months ago and was staffing the registers again. While he was very kind there was nothing offered for my inconvenience and aggravation at this store. He didn't even offer me the $6 that Lowes stole from me on the stair tread purchase after I addressed that previous issue. I have spoken with alot of my peers in the Lowell/Chelmsford area and they have all had issues with this store. Hopefully Dave can overcome the severe mismanagement that this store had gone through prior to his taking over but I doubt it. I will continue to bring my business to Home Depot in Tewksbury. While their parking lot is always full and Lowe's is always only 20% full it's worth dealing with the parking as they care about their customers by staffing the store properly instead of trying to boost their bottom line by drastically cutting down on labor cost. I assume managers must get a hefty bonus for having very low labor cost. I have been in upper management in retail and hospitality for over 25 years and have never encountered a large organization that is so out of tune with customer satisfaction. I just left Lowes of Lowell empty handed, but I feel like their #1 customer. After a half hour of picking out a sink for my new kitchen, the floor rep. told me it was out of stock. I was so bummed and asked if I could take the display. The rep. (Al M. - plumbing) said he would call the manager and see what they could do. Since it was about an hour from closing, the manager was super busy and did not get to us for 45 minutes. The sink I wanted had no tag, no brand embossed in it, and was hooked on the wall. The rep. helped me investigate what the product could be for the entire time and didn't make me feel like I was keeping him from helping other people or closing his aisles. If there was another product similar to the one I had chosen, I likely would have altered my product choice and let this man get back to everything else he had to do. Al kept me company, gave me some great tips as a new home owner, and truly did everything he could to get me the product I so stubbornly decided on. While I have to wait for the store to find out more about the display sink I hope to soon acquire, I left feeling no less than a top priority. I've been to this fairly new location several times for minor things like felt for under chairs, hooks, faucet washers, and plastic things for under a down spout. Would never buy washer/dryers and other big ticket items because I would be afraid of the service and in-house expertise. Today my husband borrowed a chainsaw and called to see if they had any chainsaw oil, which they did. No other places around here had any because of the recent outages caused by fallen trees. He called the place, which said they had 3 quarts left, so he paid for it over the phone and they were supposed to put some aside. When I got to the store, none was put aside and they had trouble locating Mr K's paid receipt. The guy looked in seasonal and discovered there was only one container left. He was lucky, cuz had there been none, he'd still hear me yelling. Inept. The cashier was nice and went to retrieve the last bottle of oil for me from the seasonal area. Went in to buy blinds, lady at the desk was "busy" and she was only able to measure the blind we brought from home so after a few minutes another kid came over and helped explain the sizing to my mom and I. We went home happy. I get home and put the blinds up and they got stuck on the sides. So now I have to go back to Lowell and see what can be done about it. I get there and no one was at the desk so I pushed the button. A kid came over and tried helping. He admitted he didn't know much about the topic so he went back to the original kid who helped me and played messenger for a few minutes. He then comes back saying the original kid was busy but that his "manager" was on the way. I felt hopeful when I heard that but I was wrong. He came over and the first thing he said was "I don't have anyone over at this desk" (um yeah. I can see that and that's why I buzzed for help?) He then asked what was going on and I explained to him that the blinds got stuck on the sides of the window but that the top half fit and he said something along the lines of "well with this brand there's not much we can do" "you need to have the sizing (which the lady and kid did) and a level blah blah. I said okay so what should I do next and his lazy response was "I don't know" What do you mean you don't know? Aren't you working at a place that is supposed to help people improve their home? That's when I truly gave up with Lowes. I stormed to customer service and returned the blinds. The girl then says to me "I didn't think we still sold these" and my response was "well you shouldn't cuz they suck just like this place" and she politely laughed and said "I hear that". On my way out I made a point to make the manager aware of how terrible of a job he is doing. If it wasn't for having a giftcard to there I would have stopped business with them at that very moment. This is a brand new shining Lowe's and possibly my new favorite. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and trained well. My main purchase was a cellular shade. When the person working in this department wanted to be absolutely certain about answering a question I had, she immediately found another employee. The two women worked well together resolving the answer, and answered every question I had about my product honestly. Both made certain my shade was standardized to every custom feature available and seemed to enjoy working with customers. I like going into a store and finding this level of knowledge and cooperation in a staff. read more

I placed a fridge online for my apt on Monday 3/19 and was scheduled to deliver on Wednesday 3/21. My tenant took yesterday off for deliverying. She called four times since 1 o'clock. Lowe's delivery center told her they had the wrong number first , then told her would be in her home by 3, then they told her that they couldn't reach the driver. Then my tenant called again at 4, she was informed that the manager would call her. By 5 o'clock, she still hasn't heard anything from Lowe's . So my tenant waste her whole day for NO DELIVERY SERVICE. Then I have to call Lowe's to reschedule again for today's 3/22 delivery. I was told they will deliver the fridge from 10:30-12:30 today on 3/22, and will call or text me 30 minuted in advance . This morning at 9:40am Someone called me and said he will be in the address in 5 minuets. I was rushed to arrive in the house much much earlier than I was informed and expected. Then I was instructed to remove the front door myself for an easy evacuation, I followed, and the two gentman watched me took the heavy door off, moved to the side for more space to pass. Then they went upstairs and told me to remove a small pices on the door, I quickly did again by myself. After I finished that, I went downstairs to ask them is ready to go. At this moment, the truck driver already left the house without a single word by NO DELIVERY, I looked at the empty space in the drive way with some snow on it, totally shocked. What kind of professional service is that????? I give an 0 rating, Worst service I never ever had!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, VERY DISAPPOINTED, NO COURTSY! NO PATIENT! I love Lowes for lots of things. Installation of appliances is NOT one of them. Turns out that Lowes now does all their install stuff through a central office. In PA. Between the store not calling for an install of out dishwasher and the install group not making it happen we waited a full month (including special order delay of two weeks). The store itself is good because it's usually well stocked. The people that work there, aren't the best help. I was looking for a pot rack for my kitchen. I asked a woman if they sold any, she lead me to to the shelving area and began to look herself. She then asked me what I wanted, I described it and she told me that I should probably find a store that sells kitchen items. She then quickly said, well we do, but a store that sells JUST kitchen items! Another time I went to buy some plaster and asked if they had a particular type I wanted. The man told me that they didn't and began to pull different types of joint compound and spackle and asked if I wanted that. I told him I just wanted plaster. He said they didn't have any but then began recommending that I use sheet rock because it's easier. I said thanks but I just wanted plaster. He told me I should maybe google some ways to fix the hole. I told him that I had already done my research and just needed plaster. He finally told me that they didn't carry any other plaster than the one they had there. I think he meant well but I just wanted him to answer my question. read more

I've had mostly good experiences here with one bad experience when buying a stove the woman assisting with the purchase was not very informative about them not being able to connect gas lines. With that being noted most of the other people I have worked with have been very professional in the store usually is very clean. I was treated with utmost disrespect my cashier Henry on Sunday May 21st at 3 PM. When I tried to use my mobile app to pay for my items the transaction did not go through. That was fine. As I was taking out my credit card I engaged in small talk and mentioned that it was the first time that my app did not work. A helpful employee graciously fulfilled my request to cut a 42" piece of hand rail. I get to checkout and they could only charge me for an 8 foot section. They refused my offer for a few dollars for what I needed. I had to leave what I needed at the register where it most likely got thrown into the garbage (heaven forbid that they satisfy a customer). I built a new house and bought all of my appliances at Lowes: 2 refrigerators, freezer, dish washer, wall oven, stove, range hood, washer and dryer. It has been 3 months that we have been in the home and yesterday we made our 4th service call. First a fridge, then the second fridge, then the range hood and finally the second fridge again with the same problem. The Lowes service department will give you one date, and then the company who does the work tells you they are not in your area that date. They expect you to go a over a week without using your refrigerator. It is beyond frustrating. I am telling everyone I know not to buy appliances there. read more

What a horrible experience, went to Lowes in Lowell to grab a bag of lawn fertilizer and a bag of lawn lime. Even being selective which bags I picked up my hands looked like I had being playing on mud. The bags were covered in what I fear was bird droppings, and plain old dirt. Craig Sluser was the sales person and he was amazing! We got the fence measured and got an estimate right away! I had 3 fence guys come out before this and all never even got back to me! Just went to lowes ....literally got there less than 10 minutes before they closed. ..had to get a couple bolts so my friend would be able to fix his lawn mower. ...I'm a complete idiot when it comes to hardware related things but my friend really needed me to run and get the particular bolts...soon as I got in there I ended up asking a gentleman named Wayne for some help...he was so helpful in finding the right bolts along with the washers that were needed. ...I would've made it an all day event trying to find the right items but thanks to Waynes assistance I didn't end up having to pay rent to stay there for the night. ..can't say enough and definitely would've never gotten the right items without Waynes help....i would without a doubt come back here for all my hardware needs read more
