They have the worse customer serviceand inventory has gotten worse. I had an installation done and realized it was done incorrectly and unsafely. I called to have someone come out to correct it and was told there was nothing they can do. I was told it was outside the warranty even though their contract states to install appliances safely. So instead I have a fire hazard on my hands. I was also told the person who installed it probably doesn't even work there anymore. They hire shotty third party people to come out and do work . Be very cautious when buying from them. I will do business elsewhere and will make sure to spread the word. I have bought countless from them and will no longer. This particular Lowe's is hit or miss. At times I've gone to the other big home improvement/hardware chain and walked out when I couldn't find anyone to help me. The few folks I did see at the other place neither greeted me nor even so much as smiled at me. Then I went to this Lowe's and the employees were super friendly and helpful. Though that was in the past. The most recent time I went to this Lowe's, there were hardly any employees working. One looked right at me and didn't say a word or even smile. I went to check out and there was literally no one working the checkout lines. I must say I did notice a sign while walking in that said they were hiring and suggested filling out an application inside...so I suppose they were short staffed. I ended up going to the service/returns desk and the employee (who had not acknowledged me or smiled at me minutes earlier) was then very friendly and helpful, offering no protest when I told her I was there (at the returns desk) to purchase an item. Not only have I had better luck at this Lowe's virtually every other time I've been here in the past, but their prices are cheaper than the other guys! I suppose that, at the very least, will keep me coming back. Hopefully next time they will be more adequately staffed. read more

I did receive a discount from one of the store managers for this issue, which I appreciated but other employees were not so helpful and were, at times, rude. After I received the discount, the order was delivered and it was not assembled properly, which caused damage to the grill. I also made a complaint to the Customer Service center and they offered me a 10% discount off a future purchase which I explained I never want to purchase anything from a Lowe's again so that was not helpful. read more

Not my favorite home improvement store. I'd prefer the Home Depot in East Haven or North Haven if needed. I feel like at Home Depot, the workers and cashiers are friendlier and more willing to help. This kind of is the only Lowe's around. I will say that they do have nice assortments of holiday items during that time of year. Also the area with lighting fixtures and overhead ceilings fans is nicely set up with great displays. The paint counter can be pretty slow though with only one person working at the counter at any given time. read more

Can I go lower than one star.....Four months to have a basic patio door installed...Ordered in June...two weeks for delivery..another two weeks before intall...slider arrived damaged...SO..another two + weeks for replacement....and two more weeks for install.....2nd attempt finds another problem with the stationary door....AND another two + weeks for replacement...Multiple calls to Corporate....almost zero communication from the store....Corporate was sympathetic and the Install team was of great help.. read more

I ordered a gas range online to be delivered, was given a delivery day of Sunday between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm . The tracking said it was loaded and enroute.. 2:30 came and went .. Made a phone call to the delivery service and was told the item wasn't put on the truck and The sore should have called..After about an hour on the phone with the store they had no idea why it wasn't delivered.. Then that evening they supposedly figured out that there wasn't any inventory available.. how was I able to purchase one and get a delivery date?? Just very poor service !!!! Having your online order brought out to your car is not real life, it's just a fantasy. Assume you'll be going in and negotiating with customer service. Someone at some management level needs to address that order pick-up is going to be the new normal and make the system for it work smoothly, rather than handling it as this enormous favor that takes staff outside their busy routines. I've otherwise always had good and helpful experiences with this store. It's possible to find someone to help, they know what they're doing, what's supposed to be in stock is in stock, etc. Since the first person I talked with after I went inside found my order successfully and nothing really screwed up happened, I consider it a 3-star experience, but it would be nice if the bar were higher than "not actively traumatic and I got my stuff." read more

Just had a terrible experience just finding out if Lowe's has an item in stock ... very unorganized!! Before I took a ride out to the store I decided to call to see if they had my item in stock. They do not have an option for garden center on their menu when you call not even an option for Customer Service. I decided to choose option two which was for curbside service they put me on hold for an hour. I decided to hang up and call back. The person on the other line had no idea what I was talking about and I had to start over from scratch. She put me on hold and then decided to forward me to the garden shop. No one picked up the phone and I was hung up on after the timer rang out on the call. I called back again this time they said oh we are checking to see if we have your item in stock. I'm giving 2 starts instead of 1 because I generally like this Lowes. Most of the staff are older, retired guys with TONS of experience and expertise. I've purchased my entire kitchen, carpets, tiled flooring, plumbing and electrical supplies here. But, yesterday, I accidentally got bleach on a carpet in my house and called to see if my info would still be on file. This is the only way I can match the color with carpet dye to fix it... or even to hire the same people who installed it the first time (through Lowe's contractors) to come replace parts of it. I saw it on YouTube, carpet repair people can actually cut parts of the carpet out and replace with the same type of carpet and it looks brand new. So I called the flooring department and was greeted by a very rude, young-sounding man. He first assumed I wanted them to replace it for free, and immediately started saying, "no mam, this won't be covered under warranty, YOU ruined the carpet..." etc. but I never once said that I wanted to use my warranty. I kept saying, I know but I'd like to see how I can get this fixed... and I mean, if that meant replacing the whole carpet, I would have! But he never offered that as an option. He acted very defensive the entire call, for NO reason. I was calm and just inquiring about my options. He told me I had to contact Manley's Carpet Supplies in West Haven. It sounded like he was saying Mayliss. He said it so fast, I was like, ok Mayliss... thanks... I hung up, googled carpet supply west haven, found that it was Manley's. Called there, and the guy was grouchy and didn't even seem to want business either. So, I am now going to pay Home Depot to install a new carpet. Lowe's lost my money this time. I bought a washing machine for on 9/12/23 along w/the delivery fee ($600). The salesperson said we had 48hrs to return it. It didn't perform as we'd hoped so I returned it on 9/16/23 (an hour & a half before the actual 48hr mark), but Lowes wouldn't honor it. The manager said that they changed their policy & that the 48 window starts on the Day Of Purchase. I thought they were kidding because that "MAKES NO SENSE". How can we assess a product if it hasn't arrived yet?...& they know the exact date & time of all deliveries...& I know this because they showed me my delivery info on their computer screen. Why implement a policy that is a BLATANT SCAM? Lowe's made 97 Billion last year so to enforce this RIDICULOUS policy is in hopes of saving a dollar is DISGUSTING. I wish I can give a 0, because 1 star is too much. This is properly the worst facility I've had to deal with in a long time. Trying to reach the right department over the phone is near impossible. I was placed on hold for nearly 30 minutes, bounced back and forth between people, only to get someone on the 5th try that hung up the phone on me after I state the fact that I have been bounced around. Title of this review: Management is Asleep at the Wheel Recently I went to rent a pickup truck at this store. The truck was broken. The tail gate does not lower, which makes the vehicle useless. I was completely underwhelmed by the person helping me. My guess is that management is completely clueless and will do nothing to fix the truck. To solve my problem, I ended up going to Home Depot in Hamden. They have multiple trucks, which are well maintained. The Home Depot staff was on the ball and helpful. Note to HQ: Someone needs go into this store with a Taser and wake everyone up from their slumber. You might start by firing the store manager. That should get people's attention. read more

I recently called Lowe's in New Haven to set up an appointment for an in-home consultation. The charge for this service is $75. My kitchen is approximately 12x12 feet and I was interested in updating the floor, countertop and backsplash. I was surprised to learn that the counter top and sink are done by another company...not Lowes. Cost of the countertop and faucet, materials and installation would be approximately $2,500. Total price given to me by Lowe's for the entire job: countertop, floor and backsplash, including material AND installation $7,600. The material cost for the vinyl floor was $460 and the material cost for the backsplash was $400. Subtracting out the countertop project and the material costs for the floor and backsplash left a $3,000 Lowe's labor charge for just the floor and backsplash. When you consider the amount of time it will actually take, they certainly are helping themselves to a hefty hourly labor charge. The woman in charge of the in-home visits was initially very helpful in helping me pick out various options. However the floor presented to me for consideration was discontinued. When I called yesterday to ask additional questions, I was told she was busy doing another kitchen plan and that any future calls I would make to Lowe's should be directed to the Flooring Department and not to her.... Her final comment added insult to injury when she stated, ...."whoever your contractor is, they can help you figure out how much you need." So tell me why did they come to measure my kitchen? She knew the answer to my question but did not provide the answer to me. My suggestion: Save $75 and don't waste your time with Lowes installation department. read more

I purchased stuff from Lowe's online and every time I do there's always a problem. I ordered tiles from Lowe's 2 day turns to one month. I ordered cabinets from Lowe's that I should have been delivered on 10/14/2020 now it's pass the due date they sent an email saying shipment will arrive soon no date. That's almost comical So I called Lowe's they say Allow seven business days Last time they said That I waited one month. They answer to that is once we shipped it it's out of our hands. They continue to ship with ESTES worst shipping company ever but I'm sure they get a very low rate. Who cares if the customer are not getting they shipment on time. I will not shop at Lowe's again. She grabs my receipt then hands another one back and just says your all set. No idea that meant. Is it back on my card so I asked. She acted like I was bothering her. Such rude people there. No one is knowledgeable at that place or even want to help. I went to Home Depot and they acted like they wanted to help even tho I didn't need any. I went online to find a lowe's that had a particular cafe table I wanted. The chat person came up. I mentioned my local Lowe's and was informed they didn't have it and there wern't any stores in my area with the table in stock. No problem. I'll just order it online. The order went through, I opted to have it assembled for $10.00, shipping came to a whopping $80.00, so with tax my $100 table came to over $200 snd delivery would be in two days. Thinking thats very fast, I noticed it was being shipped from New Haven, a mere 30 minute drive from my house. I could easily have driven to get it myself had I only known. When the table didn't arrive on the due date I called the shipping department and was told they couldn't do it that day maybe in a day or two. I called again after 2 days and was met by coufusion and excuses like a glitch in the computer to the computers down. About the same time I was calling I got an email stating the delivery was made. I had to go away for a few days and on my return still don't have my table. i tried to call but this time I asked for customer service and sat on hold for over 30 minutes before giving up. I'd cancel the order but I don't trust these people to be able to give me my money back. What do I do now? I'm suprised because I didn't think Lowe's was a fly-by-night company. A total joke. There mid day on a Saturday, when all not most diy people are there. One cashier open, no self check registers here. Mentioned this to an employee passing me as I was heading to check out, she just said I know and kept walking away from the area. 7 people in front of me, finally got close and the guy in front yelled out we need help, he had to yell because no one was around except the poor girl at the only register. They opened up 2registers only because we yelled. I checked out, mentioned I hope I get a survey, she said yes. Well I did the survey on Saturday around 1pm, mentioned everything here and basically said I will go elsewhere. They have all my contact information, now 7pm Monday and not even an automated response, email call. The WOW customer experience just keeps coming. Everytime I visited this Lowes store, their staff is always very under-staffed and you can count on their very poor customer service, at the service counter & within the different departments. After asking for help, you'll have to wait 20 mins as they scatter to find someone to service you. When waiting at the customer service counter, You'll wait again as 2 or more behind the counter are either on the phone, on the computer, in a conversation with another staff member. HOWEVER they never acknowledge your presence, that you're standing there. They just continue with their laughter, talking or whatever their doing. It only takes a min to acknowledge your guess. Just lift your head up for a quick second to say I'll be right with you or something. acknowledgement of your customersgoes a long way.. letting your patrons know you appreciate them choosing your store keeps them coming back. A department staff member was asked to help me with an Air Conditioner when he finally came to customer service he got on the computer,; after he sat on the computer for a while, I went closer to him & asked if he was the one to help me & should I bring my car closer? In front of a host of other customers, He Stood up & angrily said "I'm Busy Right Now and walked away saying... "That's Not My Job!" I was horrified. The other staff at the counter looked on in shame & later apologized. Lowes is closest hardware store to my house but it's worth the trip to travel further to get to Home Depot. read more

Needed to get some paint mixed, and was waiting at the counter patiently for 20 minutes as the clerk finished up mixing for the customer in front of me. As soon as a man walked up to the counter, the clerk asked if he needed any help. I chimed in to let him know I had been waiting to be helped for 20 minutes and he simply shrugged at the man, giving him a "sorry" look, and helped me out. made the mistake of ordering a floor installation . $3,000 job. deliver date one 10-28 vinyl floor arrives. 10-29 we call to set up appointment for install, we are told the delivery person forgot all the rest of the materials and would be back 10-30. 10-30 nobody shows up i call LOWES , after being hung up on, transferred to flooring repeatedly with no answer , calling flooring direct no answer, i find out my materials are still on the loading dock and the truck is gone. speak to 2 supposed managers they advise truck will NOW come out 11-1 , RECEIVED NO CONFIRMING PHONE CALL THE NIGHT BEFORE, AS I WAS TOLD I WOULD, SO i call lowes 11-1 and speak to crystal, she advised my materials will be here between 12 - 4. . 1PM i receive a call from Scot .HE ADVISES the truck left again without my materials and he will bring them out later. just imagine all my wasted time, aggravation, mis information, being hung up on, trying to reach flooring at a large store and getting NO ANSWER. Bizarre, horrendous experience...long story long....came to store with a couple of things, a claw hammer and I think a spray can of paint to return. Set them on the returns counter. Began to search for what I needed. Didn't find it. Came back, retrieved my items and left.....STOPPED by security and detained....was told I was shoplifting...here is the bizarre part...turns out one of the 2 items was actually from Home Depot... SO....please tell me how I managed to swipe a Home Depot item from Lowes shelf???? Obviously, in addition, no camera would have shown me in any aisle where the other item was purchased, or handling it in the store itself. I left the items at the entrance to avoid any such confusion... So the right answer would have been....sorry sir for the misunderstanding.... I called to ask a couple general questions. I was transferred to the wrong department, then was hung up on when they attempted to transfer me to the correct one. I called back and was unable to contact anyone from the Building Department and the operator would not pick up. Instead I was in an endless loop of automated options.
