Think twice before inviting this company into your home. I scheduled an appliance inspection, and although I couldn't be there in person, my family was home while I stayed on speakerphone the entire time. From the moment the technician arrived, he seemed upset that I wasn't there. He then became irritated after learning I had previously asked another company to inspect the appliance. As a paying customer, I have every right to get a second opinion before deciding on a repair. He also questioned how I was going to pay, and when I told him I could pay with cash or card--whichever he preferred--his attitude only got worse. He became loud, rude, and unprofessional before deciding to leave without even completing the inspection. The most disappointing part was that this happened inside my home, in front of my family, including my son. If I remember correctly, his name was Brad (the technician, or possibly the owner of the company), although I can't say with complete certainty. Respect and professionalism should never be optional when you're entering someone's home. Unfortunately, that was completely missing during this visit. A very friendly serviceman from Jim's came to assess our refrigerator. First of all, he was conscientious and very careful of our property. The fridge is sort of jammed in a cubby in our kitchen and very hard to move without damaging the hardwood floors. He took care of a leak we had in the water dispenser and gave us excellent advice about what to do going forward. While he was here, he also leveled our washing machine, after I asked if he would just take a look. The cost to address these two appliances was better than reasonable. I inadvertently put my freezer drawer back in the wrong way and my freezer would not close, nor could I get the basket back out. With it being a holiday I knew that getting someone out that day would not happen. I left a message for several repair services and Jim called back promptly the next day and went out of his way to be as accommodating as possible. I was not home, but had a neighbor come by so Jim could fix the problem. Jim, was a very nice and genuine guy who corrected my error. I don't often leave reviews...I typically just read them. This time, I'm making an exception. I have a refrigerator in the garage that kept tripping the circuit before the holidays. Brad came out and couldn't immediately find a problem with the refrigerator, but stuck around for a while and checked ALL related parts to be sure. PS...he left and it was working. A couple months later, it began tripping the circuit again, and I called. He came out the next day, and went through things again, and rather than taking the time to replace parts (that would probably cost more than the fridge is worth!), he suggested I replace the outlet. When i went out to check up with him, he was on the phone with his brother (it's a family business) talking about the issue, and he even showed me that he took the time to google any similar issues. I call that A+ service. He offered the least expensive solution, and as soon as I replace the outlet box, I'll update this review. We had Jim's out today to repair our 20 year old clothes dryer. Dylan was able to diagnose the issue. He went out and got the parts and was able to get us up and running. He also was able to solve another issue that we didn't realize was causing the dryer to not heat properly. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jim's and Dylan for repairs in the future. With, as usual, a very competent diagnosis and and inexpensive cure, he restored it completely. I couldn't have asked for better service than what I received from this business. Prompt, professional, and extremely reasonably priced, he had my stove back up and running in no time. I would highly and I mean HIGHLY recommend this family business for any type of appliance service you may need. A few years ago I made the mistake of calling a different repair company to fix my 3 year old dish washer. ( I will not mention their name, but needless to say, DO NOT use anyone from Bremen) Not only were they rude and condescending ( office and service worker ) but they had to make 3 service calls that resulted in me having to purchase a new dish washer because they further damaged my dish washer! They were even so petty that they cut additional wires in the machine after they removed the part they said needed to be replaced when I demanded a refund. So glad I didn't waste my time trying to repair my 12 yr old Whirlpool gas clothes dryer. No heat. I called Jim's Appliance in Orland Park on a Facebook user recommendation. Not only is my dryer working again but the but Jim also repaired the "thump, thump, thump" noise coming from the drum rotation. Price was fair and reasonable. There is no better company to repair your appliances. I have tried other companies who no called/no showed. I heard about Jim's appliance from mutual friends. Brad has come out on a few occasions. Most recently, they squeezed me in to fix my dryer. I work two jobs and need my scrubs for work, therefore needed the situation fixed asap. My refrigerator was acting up... freezing the fruits and veggies and ruining other food. I called Jim's Appliance Service because of favorable reviews on other web sites. I totally agree with those reviewers because these guys are excellent. Brad came out and diagnosed the problem, provided me with an accurate estimate to repair the fridge, and came back after ordering the parts to fix our fridge. Jim himself came out. It was a simple clothes washer knob. He did a quick analysis and didn't try and sell me anything unnecessary. It was a $5 part he located for me. He only charged me his service fee and was on his way. As long as I live in the area, I'll call Jim's. read more

I have used jims appliance many times in past 20 years as always a pleasure to do business with. I had a dryer with no heat they were here within 48 hours called ahead to let me know he was on way . Found the problem quickly and as a bonus had the part on truck and had it fixed in 30 minutes. I find them to be reasonable, knowledgeable, and extremely honest. Which anyone would appreciate and admire nowadays. I'm not one to easily right a great review or throw out compliments about a business , but I can say they always do right by us. My newer Samsung refrigerator wasn't cooling but was freezing just fine. Dave came out, on time, and couldn't have been any nicer or honest. My fridge fan was encapsulated in ice, and the fan blades couldn't move to push out cold air. After defrosting the whole unit for two days, Dave came back, at the promised time again, and told me it's working fine now and made a tiny fix to prevent water freezing around the fridge fan again. He could have replaced the fan blades, but was honest saying they weren't needed, and was detailed with his explanation. Integrity abounds. Very highly recommend. Very reasonable rates as well.
