I Bought a refrigerator from Lowe's in Poway that was delivered June 5th, and four days later the freezer quit working. I called Lowes and they told me to call Samsung. Samsung told me to call Quick Service. Quick Service told me to call Lowes, because the refrigerator was under a 30 day replacement / repair warranty. I was told by a Lowe's employee that a tech would be by Monday 6/15, no one called or came by. I called to find out what happened, and was told that a tech would be by 6/16 by 12 noon, no one came by no one called. Lowe's wasted two days of my life waiting for service. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'LL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN. read more

Our four year new washing machine died. I was so thankful I had purchased the extended warranty. That is until I tried using the extended warranty. Once I noticed my machine was starting to run poorly and leaking water I immediately called the warranty people. They put me in touch with a repair company They came out assessed the damage and put in a request to Lowe's for the necessary parts. A week later the request was approved and it took another week for the repair people to receive the parts. Now my washer has been broken for three weeks . I have a family of four with a newly rescued puppy we are house training. Needless to say I do a lot of laundry. The repair man came out and could not repair my washer. They had to requisition more parts and they do not know when my machine will be repaired. It cost me at least $20 per visit to the laundromat and I am onlY entitled to $50 reimbursement of laundry fees. To date I have spent over $200. And there is no limit as to how long they can take to repair my washer. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. read more

Ordered a refrigerator from this location because the location near my house was out of stock. The delivery arrives and it is damaged. 2 of the wheels on the bottom are snapped off. So we send the fridge back to store. I immediately call the store and after being passed around to 3 different departments I end up with a Service Manager. He is the only reason this location is getting ANY stars from me. He was kind, didn't act like I was wasting his time. However, it took many HOURS and MULTIPLE phone calls to resolve because apparently they mislabeled their shipment containers and couldn't find the other new fridges to get us another one. He does a manger override to get it delivered to us next day once he finds it. The next day comes and whoever imputed our order apparently put it in to be delivered NEXT MONTH. Thank god I called to check on it. After several hours of "we might be able to do it today", They managed to get it on the second delivery truck of the day. I get a call from another manager saying the fridge that's supposed to come to us now has a scratch/dent on the side, when yesterday it was inspected and looked fine. He claims if it's going between cabinets that you won't see it and they would be willing to compensate for it. I reluctantly agree because I'm fed up over the fiasco. We finally get it. You luckily can't see the scratch but man I will never order from here EVER again. After multiple phone calls, hours of waiting, and inconveniences it was a nightmare of a whole weekend. If I hadn't continued calling, I know the whole order would've fallen through. At least Management was nice and cooperative, but never again. read more

I ordered a toilet online for in-store pickup (otherwise the delivery to home cost $80 more). To be honest, I was very nervous about picking up the toilet myself, since I found out the weight of the toilet is about the same as mine. At the pickup center, Carlos (lady at the front) greeted me very friendly and asked Dan (young guy working Tuesday 08/14 afternoon), to help me to move the toilet to my car. Dan was very responsive and helpful. He helped me to move the toilet into my car. I am very grateful to his assistance. At the end, he seriously refused to take any tips from me. I can't thank him enough. Also, at the plumbing department, Paris was very patient with my phone call regarding toilet installation service. He followed up with me the next day as well. I went to this Lowe's to get things for my garden. I usually go to Home Depot, but they didn't have the specific thing I was looking for. The two stores have a similar selection but it seems that the plants at Lowe's are healthier. However, what made the real difference is that the Lowe's associate, Kate (who works in the garden section), helped me and went above and beyond all expectations! Her knowledge about plants is amazing and she was super friendly. I never usually write reviews, but I had to say something about her because she made this the best shopping experience I have ever had at a home improvement store. I rented carpet cleaner from this store. It went well until when I returned the machine and ended up with being charged extra 20 bucks for cleaning fee. I am angry because I did clean the machine, but still, it's an old on, it's impossible to make it like a brand new one. What's worse, the associate was rude. ALRIGHT SO. My father does contracting and growing up with a life style like that I go to home depot, Lowe's and other hardware stores. In my short life of about 20 years you tend to go to bad hardware stores. That's just life. Some perfect some okay and some are Lowe's. This Lowe's. Oh man this Lowe's was hands down the worst. Like honestly I can't even be a little nice. Zero stars if I could but no it needs to be 1. Anyway on to why it's bad. See it's like this. I help my dad fox up the house from time to time and we were getting new smoke detectors but since we were there, my dad thought I can get a NEW nail gun for cheap. We already had the smoke detectors and found the right nail gun. So we then go look for help and some how found it by the paint. We said TO THIS GUYS FACE. "can you help us get a nail gun" it was on the third shelf and I can't jump that high FYI. So we then go back to the nail gun thinking that this guy is following is but no. He's chatting, then after trying to get the gun our selfs me and my 60 year old father who is a vet. I might add. Are reaching and looking for some one to help. So after trying for around 12mins I finally go to a cashier's desk and ask for help. And guess what NO HELP AT ALL. I get a okay and they tell me that some one will be on their way. So my dad and I are 1000% done and we have stuff to do so we buy the smoke detectors and leave go to home depot A REAL HARDWARE STORE. get a better nail gun at a slightly higher price. But it was at eye level so it was a get in and go kinda thing. But to sum it in a few words. Go to Lowe's if you like wasting time and hate getting things done. Or you just like being alone. I would think twice before using Lowes for the purchase of semi-custom vanity cabinets. It is not that the cabinets we purchased are not a great quality it is the attention to detail and communication that is lacking in the customer service area. After 4 weeks of waiting for the cabinets to arrive, I called Lowes to see where the order was in the queue. "Lowes" and behold when I called Lowes for an update, the units had just arrived and they were going to call me. To make a really long story short, after I moved the large cabinet into place and was ready to insert the shelves that came with the cabinet, I found that the shelves were 4" to wide. I spoke to Fred from the Poway store and asked why. Jeff said that it was normal for this type of install. I said that no one in Customer Service made any mention of this. Neither Shanon nor Jeff who helped during the order process bothered to mention that I would have to purchase a circular saw, a 7" carbide finishing blade, a pair of saw horses, a straight edge, clamps to hold down the shelves, a tape measure, a heavy duty extension cord, painter's tape to prevent splintering at the cutting area and sand paper to smooth out the cut. Not to mention finding a piece of wood to lay the shelves on in order to clamp them for stability while cutting. Then hire a carpenter to cut the shelves. I can't take the chance of ruining expensive shelving by doing it myself. This does not take into account the time to shop for the tools, set up the work area and find someone to do the work. I find that this whole process was just idiotic. read more

Finally, a DYI store where you can find a sales person, associate, whatever. Was looking for some plants to put in over the weekend but wasn't sure what would be best in our scorching back yard. Usually I have to hunt around forever to find someone to assist me with selection or information. Not today. The lady stepped up to offer help and walked around with me pointing out what plants would probably do best in my situation. She was even familiar with the quality of the soil in our area. This pains me to write. I typically shop at Lowes in Escondido. Poway is a new store and I've had two experiences there and they both kind of sucked. First Experience: Couple weekends back went to the store to shop outdoor storage cabinets. Typically at Lowes I've been asked if I needed help, greeted by clerks, something. There was none of that here and the store wasn't swamped. I couldn't find anyone to help me so I left empty handed without being helped. Second Experience: The problem is not the fault of Lowes Poway, but the corporate website (but reaction kind of sucked). I found storage units for outside and ordered them for truck delivery. The problem is that same day delivery is shown as an option on the mobile site ("Available for delivery by 8/23"). I placed the order and waited. Got a call from a nice woman to arrange delivery and I explained that they don't offer same day delivery. I asked for a refund on delivery and delivery Monday after 5. I got a call again from Jose (assistant manager). He said he didn't see why he would need to refund delivery since they don't offer same day delivery. He said he was looking at it now and it doesn't say that. I checked and it doesn't, ON THE DESKTOP SITE. I was extremely upset and became a difficult customer (I hate being argued with when I can give the exact verbage the site gave me). He did refund delivery and said he would put a note to deliver on last truck delivery. I said ok. Refund is pending, but I'm sure it'll go through. I recieved a call at 9:05 PM giving me a delivery window of 2:30-4:30 PM. A far cry from the late delivery I was promised. In an effort to get my stuff my wife took time off from work to be home. Ok, fine. Got a call around 1pm. Truck will be there between 1:30-2:30PM. I told the guy that they need to stick to the window. Ultimately, it's not that Lowes didn't give me what I wanted, they gave me my money back. But I would have probably had storage units already if someone at the store had been willing to help me two weeks ago and my wife and I are having to take time off work because the asistant manager at Lowes Poway didn't keep his promise. I'll just go back to Escondido. They've always been great and helpful (even with delivery). read more

Admittedly, I get kind of lost in the store and when I ask the staff for help, Most never know where anything is either. It's kind of frustrating. I was sent to the Escondido store, but when I got to that store, I was told that the Poway employee was wrong, they don't carry the item. So disappointed to have to write this negative review but this has gone on way too long. November 18th of 2021, I ordered and paid in full for interior doors for my laundry room. Installer came out, measured, and I was given an install date of middle of December. Installers arrived and GUESS WHAT, the entire order was wrong. Doors were not the correct size, where the dummy knob was to be, a hole had been drilled which meant the dummy knob could not be mounted, and the doors were unpainted. Here we are at the end of February and I am still waiting. I received a call about 2 weeks ago that my doors were ready and I would be contacted to schedule the install. As of today (February 24) I have had no call from Lowes. I had to reach out to them for an update which, of course, they had no information and said I would have to wait and talk with the installation company. In fact, through this whole process, I have never received an update call from Lowes. Any contact I have had has been initiated by me. To finish up, after many years of being a loyal customer, I will never do business with Lowes again. read more

I'm a DIYer so I purchase a lot of raw and finished building materials from home improvement stores. I recently decided to start shopping at this Lowes because unlike all other H.I. stores, this place is not swarming with shoppers. Each time I go there the ratio of employees-to-customers is at least 3:1! But unfortunately this lack of traffic also reflects their product experience and customer service. Ex.2: I called the Gardent Dept.to make sure they had lavenders before going there. Upon arrival, I waited cordially before interupting the 3 employees from their personal conversations to ask where they were. The lady pointed them out. I told her that those aren't lavenders, although they're similar (Sage?). She seemed to be annoyed and walked me to them only to realize her mistake. This same situation happened weeks after when I called about Petunias. Ex.2: Milwork Dept: I purchased several windows. I've installed these windows in the past so I knew the measurements/info required when ordering them. The employee helping me was very nice, but VERY inexperienced. In the process I noticed some errors on how he was submitting the order and corrected them. The lead window guy was there but seemed to ignore me when I tried to ask him questions. Needless to say, ordering custom windows there...not recommended. Ex.3: Called them 3x times today and I was disconnected on all 3. When i finally got a hold of someone, I asked for the store manager and she told me that he was gone and won't be back until tomorrow. After being disconnected again, I called back and it was the manager that picked up. I told him that I didn't expect him to be there since I was just told that he was gone. His response was that they just got a new phone system and have been having issues. I have more examples but not worth typing; you get the point! On the other hand, I will say that the ladies (Cashier) working the cash registers are always VERY nice! 5 Stars for them! read more

So tonight I went to Lowe's after working a 15 hour day, in a crawlspace under the house while under the house I I looked on the Lowe's app to see what time they closed the app clearly states that they close at 10 o'clock so with it being 815 when I looked I continue to work for another hour then crawled out from under the house and went to Lowe's which was 30 minutes away from my job site, only to get there and have them tell me they're closed and then I called the store and the manager answered the phone and tried to debate with me what the app says so I asked her to come to the front door so I could show her what the app says. She agreed to come to the door and look at my phone after looking at my phone her and three other gentleman they pretty much told me that I was out of luck and that they were closed which I could not understand considering that there was 15 employees in there and then she told me she was still counting the cash in the drawer so they had even closed the drawers yet but yet would not do many courtesy of returning the overpriced faulty items that I came to return. What was the point of coming to the door and seeing that my phone clearly stated 10 o'clock it was the worst customer service ever didn't even attempt to make things right just told me sorry and told me to look at at what time it says it closes on the door as if when I was under a house at a job site I could see their front door to see the store hours. I showed up to Home Depot 15 to 20 minutes after they closed and the night manager was not only nice enough to open the door and accommodate me they did it with a smile what a night and day difference no wonder why every time I go in there the place is always empty. Hopefully someone with some authority or power or control over the situation changes things there, if not for their company sake at least for the customer sake. read more

I'll be standing behind someone at the paint counter with a fussy toddler and the customer and employee will just start chatting about retirement or 401k's after they've already picked up what they needed. Specifically told the cashier that I wanted the online rebate option and not the mail in. She selected mail-in and apparently once it's selected you can't unselect it. Now i'm stuck with doing rebate through snail mail. Employees need better traning listening to the customer. On Christmas Day our dishwasher failed. I ordered a new one online and Lowe's scheduled a 12/27/19 delivery which was perfect as we were having 50 people over that weekend for my son's Engagement Party Dinner. Unfortunately I did not realize "delivery" did not equate to "installation". So I called December 26, not really hoping nor expecting help with a next day installation. Unbelievably, Donna worked quickly to contact a person to PICKUP the unit at the store and install THE NEXT MORNING! Who does that? As the General Manager of a large auto dealership I am acutely aware of Customer Service and this experience was truly exceptional. I purchased a washer and dryer a week ago for delivery tomorrow in the morning. I tried to find out the time of delivery in the morning the day before. They said the couldn't tell me I would receive a call between 5pm and 9pm. I called at 7:30 pm to see when the appliances would be delivered. They told me between 7pm and 9pm. I said that was unacceptable but won't give me an earlier time. I called the store and talked to Mate the manager who told me the deliveries are done by a 3rd party. Placed our order on the 19th of June. The estimate at that time for installation, was two weeks for installation. After a couple of weeks and there was no follow up, I attempted to call to see the status of the order. No one answered in the Poway store or the 800 number provided. As a result I made a personal visit and spoke with a Lowe's representative who was very apologetic when she determined that the order was never placed! The Order was lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, it is estimated that the installation won't be until July 30th. We agree with prior low-star reviewers, this company is fine for purchasing items in-store, but when the item requires them to special order and install an item, Lowe's has no follow through. This was a $1300 purchase which needed an in home measurement that required a $40 deposit. Inspect your items when you order online and pick it up at the store or have it shipped because Lowes always tries to give you their bad stock, like open items that are missing parts so they can get rid of them. It has happened to me at least 3 times already. read more

Customer Service is in dire need of assistance! Purchased bathroom tile to be installed in a small bathroom. We were told by Kevin (salesman) that it would cost no more than $525.00, so we pre-purchased the tile. One week later, we were told that the actual install price was $850.00. (Estimate was WAY OFF). Since we had pre-purchased the tile we went ahead with the install order. After not hearing from Lowe's for 2 weeks, we called to find out they lost our order a second time. After much frustration, the tile was installed including a chipped tile and with caulking in places where grout should have been added. We contacted Lowe's Customer Service Department (emails and calls) several times, only to get the response, "We should have noticed the chip and so they are not in the wrong". Unbelievable!!!! Went to this Lowe's to buy a new bbq grill on Sunday. checked their website and it says they have 6 in stock. thinking great, I'll go and pick it up. Got to the store, the seasonal clerk checked in the back and says sorry none of the ones in stock had been built and the company that builds these for them won't be back until Tuesday. I asked if I could buy the floor model at a discount since I need to pick it up today. He says he will get the manager for me. He comes back and the manager slowly makes his way to us. Doesn't seem like the manager wanted to be bothered. The manager "Tim" a big fat stocky guy had no personality and gave out the vibe that he's not happy having to come all the way to the bbq area to talk to a customer. The manager Tim, insists that he needs to go check the inventory himself (doubting his bbq clerk's previous effort). Came back a little while later and says he can the clerk built it and I can come back in about 2 hours to pick it up. Told him that live abut 30+ minutes away and came here specifically for this grill and don't want to have to come back 2 hours later. I asked if he could sell me that floor model, he says yes but at the same full price. The floor model had numerous noticeable scratches all over it. One scratch on the top is so large and long that even the clerk said it probably won't come out. It's also full of dust inside and around the grill. I asked if he could sell it at a bigger discount considering I came a long way, already waited 40 minutes and willing to settle for a damaged and dirty floor model. Tim says no, 10% off only. Then I asked him if he could sell me that slightly larger unit for the same price since they do have inventory built, he didn't even bother answering my question. Sensing that he is not willing to budge and irritated that he is having to deal with a customer, I decided to leave. When I decided to leave, the bbq clerk shook my hand and offered a sincere apology that the grill I wanted wasn't built. I thanked him. The whole time, the manager Tim, did not interact and just stood there like an IDIOT. I don't know how someone like him ends up being a manager. Lowe's should really take a good look at this. Now I know why this store is NEVER busy, even on Labor Day weekend and they will now have 1 less returning customer because I have no plans to come back to this store. I rather drive further to the Mission Valley store which is always busy but does always have good customer service. Never shopping here again. Purchased a refrigerator, our is on its last legs. Found one I liked paid for it. It was not cheap. But its an investment. Got delivery scheduled. Saturday 11 - 4 window. Not great but we made it work. No one showed up. Called, they said they couldn't find the driver, GPS wasn't working, phone wasn't working. Get back to me in 15. 30 minutes later I call back, still can't find him, but we will get that refrigerator delivered. 1 hour later call back again, oh, found the driver he doesn't have your refrigerator, store should have called you this morning. Call the store after about 30 minutes, multiple calls/rerouting finally get Cesar. He knows about the issue is going to look up details and get back to me in 15 min. 30 min later I call back, his coworker? tells me he went to lunch and he will call be back. 1 hour and 30 min later, I call back, he states he just got back. They are getting another refrigerator shipped in, they cant find the original order. Will deliver on Wednesday. (so at this point, lost an entire day, $40 worth of ice and thank God I didn't disconnect my frig or we would have lost all the food.) Agreed to a delivery on Wednesday morning from 8 -12. They called it an add on, and wouldn't go through the normal process. Supposed to get a call from Charlie between 7:30 - 8. Guess what a call at 7:15 from a voice mail that my delivery is set between 5 - 9 pm. Hmm. No. We have other plans. Doesn't work for us. Drive to the store, takes 25 minutes to get a manager. Sales associate tried multiple times. Finally, get Jaime who I bring up to speed and I ask where is my refrigerator. He does his research, but comes back and tells me since we live in Mira Mesa not "Poway" they can't deliver early in the morning. They won't budge on the time. Needless to say, I requested a refund and advised them that while I like Lowe's better than Home Depot, I will be shopping at Depot from now on. He suggested that he would give a substantial discount if I didn't return it. (First time anyone suggested a discount.) He suggested a U-haul, but no one to set it up or pick up the old one. I'm done. No Lowes in our future. I would suggest not yours either. PS never spoke to the store manager in all of this fiasco. read more

I've never been to lowes before... I'm the typical let's just go to Home Depot person. I will never go back! I am always going to come here instead! We were greeted within 10 feet of walking in and the manager helped us until the very last minute we were in the store. They got a nice store, good selections, but don't have the people. Customer services are terrible. I walk into a Home Depot, I get greetings, I walk around the aisles, I get offers for help from staffs... Completely opposite at this Lowe's location, every single time I come in, it's just like I'm in a ghost store, their employees don't bother even looking at the customers. They all seem to have "something else" to enjoy their time. A couple times when I need help, I have to hunt around badly for a staff. Worst, the customer services desk is terrible. I needed to talk to them on my last visit and the girl named Arisa (or something like that) was "helping" with an impression just like she's been bothered. She helped one guy right before me and while we were talking, the guy came back and leaned over her CS desk to.. take his forgotten credit card! she didn't even know that she forgot to return his credit card. The whole time I talked to her, she looked just like she has more interesting things elsewhere to do with her time. If you know what you need and just come get it, go straight out, then you're good, otherwise, don't expect any help or service here (unless you want to feel like you're bothering them). We ordered kitchen cabinets and a countertop from this store; we also opted to have lowes do the installation. The cabinets were finished on thursday but the countertop is nonwhere to be seen. We were supposed to get an update on Monday and no one called. We called both the installer and the store on Tuesday and left messages, no one called us back. It is now Wednesday and I still can't get any answers as to when I will get my countertop, and the one person I did talk to on the phone at Lowes was more than a little snippy. It took 3 days from demolition to completed cabinets, tomorrow it will be a week waiting for my countertop, unacceptable! read more

Stay away from the bathroom/kitchen/flooring special order desk at the Lowe's on Poway Road, in Poway, CA. They have proven to be completely incompetent and uncaring on more than one occasion when I attempted to place special orders. The first bad experience I had occurred about 2 years ago. I informed the store manager, but swore I would never go back. They lost a $12,000 natural stone order on that particular occasion. I recently decided to give them a second chance, but this recent experience was much, much worse than the previous one. Again, I informed the store manager but I have NO confidence that anything will be done about how poorly trained and uncaring their employees are in that department because I was pacified with the same lines last time. I ended up going to their biggest competitor to give them my money. Over the past couple of years, I would estimate they have lost about $80,000 - $150,000 in sales from my household alone as we have been remodeling our home room by room for the past couple of yrs. We gave all our business to HD. We are not that pleased with HD's customer service either but they are much, much better than Lowe's of Poway. This Lowe's location is in desperate need of decent store management. With the economy as unpredictable as it is, you would think customer service would be the top priority of any business these days. Unless they make serious changes, I'd be very surprised to see Lowe's of Poway here permanently. Very sad. read more
