We were out shopping in Sonora and had to get some ice melt for cabin. Went in the store had to use bathroom, totally clean and stocked, we then went to the carpet/flooring department and found so many area carpets we could choose for the cabin. Great selection. Bought a couple carpets for the he bathroom. Went to the paint department, well organized and we were quickly directed to the caulking and wall mud. I found a putty knife and made my way to the register . I forgot my credit card!!! So, the cashier had me show her my liscence and was able to get a paper that had my credit card number so I could charge. Very nice staff. We checked out, just started for the door , forgot the salt !!! Went out , bought two snow melt salt for the driveway ice and snow. Organized store, good staff , easy to get around , huge parking lot, amazing help with credit card. Recommend !! read more

This one is personal. 4 TIMES. That is how many times I tried to buy from Lowes with my new business account. FAILURE. In store and deliveries. No difference. They talked me into opening up a business account. Offered me discounts and specials. The truth is that employees get credit for opening these accounts. The hell with the customers. The fourth time I tried to order I thought they fixed the problems on my account. I thought I was going to be successful on a delivery for some cinder blocks. NO SUCH LUCK. "Nothing coming today" Said Lowe's. But the guys at the job site are expecting to be paid. Do you know what compensation I got from Lowe's? "SORRY". Tell me one person that can spend SORRY. I can drive down to the Bay Area, Rent a trailer, load up, drive back to Murphys and I will have saved money. Is this Lowe's or management at Lowe's Sonora? At this point, who cares!! I guess when you get as big as Lowe's customers falling off the Lowe's wagon are acceptable. My question is how many customers you want to lose before it's unacceptable? One cannot understand the negativity for lowes. I was happy to see them join out community and am still happy they are here. They provide a great diversity of products. The new mvp program helps the more frequent shoppers with additional discounts. Ok I understand there are stocking issues and the HUGE CONTINUING MESS in plumbing, but given the costly alternatives in town. Not so bad. We have yet to have a bad customer experience with any associate. Treat them with the respect due another human being faced with the same enormity of stuff in the store. Or better yet use the app for ur phone. One can't trust the in stock quantity but they know where it should be (except seasonal stuff - that's a crap shoot). They reason we gave them Only 3 stars is the phone service is terrible. Hold on TERRIBLE! It's not the people answering but the actual system. Try placing an online or special order for a door, or washer dryer, or window, or anything else and check to see if it's there or get an update. U have a better chance at the lottery....you will be frustrated with hang ups, miss direction or getting to listen to the open dialog over and over. So to sum it up fix the phone system and organize the plumbing department and 5 stars is a possibility. Happy lowes is here but they are underperforming to their ability. read more

It's hard to imagine a worse run store of any kind. They have a "policy" of returning items bought on a Lowes CC up to 365 days but the computer won't go back that far. They actually scan some of my stuff the last time for return - and it scanned in, they started restocking it and then denied paying me for it - I just left after a while - you can't change the mantra of "the computer won't let me to that". And the computers are screwed up there all the time. The management is dumber that the newest employee because it takes abject stupidity to stay long enough to move into management . I could go into detail on the specifics of poor training, high turn over etc etc but it won't change the culture. This is true of many large corporations but Costco is not like this and thus I will return two large umbrellas I bought recently and get them at Costco. It's a shame that the upper management to many companies is like this - they ruined so many stores- Penny's, Sears, Macy's etc. FYI, I used to think Home Depot was worse, but now Lowes has that position - the yelp reviews are about a star better on average. Because I live in a rural town, I'll keep my Lowes CC for certain items but will make them a secondary source. read more

I had to tell one of them today what a chainsaw was, who then told me she cannot honor my 2 year warranty i bought because it is a gas operated engine. I am just baffled. I am an educated and responsible man. I retired from the practice of Certified Public Accounting (now retired CPA). I have never received such poor service from a company in my life. I purchased a new freezer and it was defective upon delivery. No return phone calls, being put on hold for 45 minutes and no one picking up my phone calls. One day I made eleven calls...no response. During a period of about 30 days, I called approximately 50 times to get resolution...nothing, nada, zip, zilch, nichts. Stay away from Lowe's. A month has gone by. I have received three emails from the delivery service. The first asking for permission to deliver on June 10th to which I agreed. Old washer and dryer removed (for a fee). New washer and dryer delivered fast and expertly. I got a call from an automated lady the day before saying delivery would be between 7am and 11am. Delivery folks called me on delivery day at 6:30am saying they were ten minutes away. Ok, so I won't look cute, but very happy to receive my appliances first thing. If you are re-modeling or working on your home and you are not sure what you may need. Do not buy things at this Lowes. They will not return it. Or exchange it. Or do anything for that matter. After not having a Receipt for things I bought over 3 months ago, before moving from the Bay Area. I was told " sorry system says no" the lady was extremely lacking in warmth and compassion. A very bad experience with our purchases at this Lowes. We are slowly finishing up with a kitchen remodel at out cabin. We ordered a cast iron Kohler sink, refrigerator, gas stove and a fan from the Sonora Lowes. The only thing that went well was the sink but that's only because when that came in our plumber picked it up and installed it. The refrigerator and stove delivery was delayed twice. When they finally came to install them, they couldn't connect the stove or put the propane part in, which we paid for. The delivery driver left the stove in the middle of the kitchen and I had to call my plumber back to connect the gas and install the propane parts, which fortunately he was able to do. The delivery driver said they don't do that, but they never told me that untill after when the stove is in the middle of our kitchen and we can't even use it. You can't get straight answers from anyone here. A real lack of clear communication. read more

Ordered washer/dryer January 11th ... its now scheduled April 10th. Thats 3 months and still not delivered. I've called several times just to get the run around. Once, I called once and they suggested it was a "parts" problem. The next time I call the person said these are all stock items ad there is no "parts" problem. They have rescheduled me(all but 2 without a phone call) 20 times.... 20 times!!! The people who did call said they were there "temporarily" there as the regular scheduler was out sick. This means the regular scheduler has NEVER reached out to me in 3 months. Maybe I'll get lucky and the person responsible for scheduling goes on vacation soon so that a temp can at least pretend the money I spent 3 months ago means something to the store. I walked in this Store on 11-28-22 and ordered an oven for my cabin which I Air B&B. I placed the order in the Appliance Department and was told to Check-Out out at front Cashier. It took the cashier 20 mins to find my order because the Appliance department wrote my phone number down incorrectly. So thinking I am squared away, I confirmed my delivery for 12-07-22, gave instructions for the driver to call me so I can give them a code to enter the house as I am not there. Then I had to block out the reservation dates on my rental until the delivery date of 12-07 . Dec 07th rolls around no phone, call no delivery. I call Lowes get put on hold for over an hr, between them transferring me around. Come to find out the delivery was cancelled due to weather, No Call! So now the delivery is reschedule for 12-14-22, extra dates blocked out. Dec 14th Rolls around no call, no Show. Again I call the Store, it takes me 6 tries to get through, only to be shuffled around for another hr. Finally I get a Manager, they said the Drivers showed up, but no one was home, no one answered the phone. I asked them what number did they call, he gave me the wrong number. O.K, we found the problem my phone number was incorrect in the system. Apologies, says the manager we can have them come out 12-20-22, We have the correct number now, the driver has the special instruction you are all set. Yesterday NO CALL, NO SHOW... We needed new kitchen flooring after our refrigerator leaked. It turned out to be a very long process from the time we picked out the flooring until it was installed. Part of the delay was on our part and part was Lowes. Carrie was great to work with in Flooring and very helpful. There was quite a mixup with the installation but the installers finally showed up. Le Nguyen and his brother were great. They were very professional and did an excellent job. We are very happy with the finished job. read more

This is only on my experience buying appliances online and trying to have them installed. In one word, it was terrible. After clicking the buy installation button online, nothing further happened. I was eventually told to contact the local store. Since each department handles its own installation instead of having a central person at the store that can set everything up, you have to find an overworked salesperson from the department floor to help you. Forget about never answered or never returned phone calls. Make a trip to the store to find a real human would be my advice. Then I was told the appliances would be delivered to the store and the third party installation contractor would bring the appliances to my home on the day of installation. All good except not everyone got the same memo. I was called by not one but two individuals from the store that my appliances had been delivered to my address. Total, massive confusion is what it was. It may be a company wise screw up instead of a local branch thing but the whole experience would not make me a repeat customer. One star for Mark (Marcos) in the kitchen appliance department who stayed after clock out time to help me sort out this mess otherwise a big fat zero stars. read more

First contacted them in August for some counters for my daughter's home in Murphys. It took forever to get it started as communication was delayed due to nobody working full time in that dept. Come October we finally had contracted for this work and paid for it! I made it clear it had to be done by Thanksgiving as the entire family of 32 was coming for dinner. I had to call the fabricator (Pentagone in Modesto) daily to get them to finally schedule the job the Monday before Thanksgiving. Well, as you can imagine from the 1 star (it would be ZERO if possible) the install didn't go well, as a matter of fact it was NOT installed at all! The measurements were off by about an inch so the old tile marks on our existing cabinets shows. So today on December 11, 17 days after the install, still NO idea of how they are going to resolve this. We do not have a kitchen folks! No running water, no appliances...all of that was taken out for the install! Needless to say, Thanksgiving was a bust, and now we have to get takeout for everything. No Fridge either!! I tried calling the manager of Lowe's in Sonora California. It takes a minimum of 7 minutes to reach a person and after I told them about my concerns I was disconnected five times. After spending an hour on the phone I gave up. I want to know why Lowe's is getting away with selling lg appliances when they have known for years there is no repair service for lg in the entire area. I have heard of people buying a $3,000 refrigerator and having to get rid of it in under two years because there aren't any repair people. On one occasion, employees made eye contact with us standing at at the paint counter waiting for assistance and ignored us for over 10 minutes. When someone finally helped us, we were treated as though we were interrupting them. On another, we requested help finding a part and provided the item number from their website. They plugged it into their handheld machine, pulled up the wrong product and said, "well that's the number and we don't have it." Horrible customer service and rude, "not my job" attitudes. I am not one to write reviews and share my experiences with many but I would like to protect others to not experience what I have the past seven months. We bought 21 Dual Pane Pella windows 7 months ago in September 2021 through Brandon who was in charge of the window section. It has been 7 month and I still and missing 6 windows. During the first delivery 12 windows were shipped to the wrong areas. We also found out Brandon did not order two of our living room windows so the 17k price we thought was decent was incorrect. Brandon offered us a small discount and said if they didn't arrive soon we would get another. We later found out we never got the discount that Brandon left his postion. We were now working with Jaynie . JAYNIE WAS not clued into the situation. We kept calling and asking to speak with Jaynie but it was near impossible to reach her as she has no help. She knew nothing about the promised discount and missing windows. After many weeks of calling I had to come into the store 3 times to discuss and find out which windows were not ordered or at the store. I had to ask the installers for help as Lowes uses a dos system. And they can't figure anything out as it's too complicated. After bugging Jaynie for 2 months I was against transferred to I believe an assistant manager Patrick. Patrick has been trying to help but we are still having issues. I went into the store after being told all 6 remaining windows were in but the case was only 4. Everytime I asked Patrick for details on the refund there was always an excuse. The computer was down, the IT tech can't figure it out, the store manager is out and hasn't made a decision. I just want this ordered completed it's been 7 months and I have been thrown person to person with no results. Memorial Day weekend a friend and I purchased a refrigerator from Lowes, Sonora, CA. The sales agent checked and several were in stock so we paid and delivery was set up for Wednesday, May 29. We also paid to have the existing refrigerator removed. The location is a secondary home in Dorrington, CA. My friend and I needed to get back to our primary homes which are 2-4 hours away (depending on traffic) but I agreed to stay and wait the 3 days for the delivery. Wednesday, the day of delivery we are told the refrigerator would arrive between 7:30 and 11:00 AM. We got another call that the fridge would arrive between 8 and 8:30 AM. At 7:30 I unplugged, turned off the water supply, removed the items in the existing fridge, removed the doors of the fridge and the house front door to allow for removal of old and bring in of new to the house. And waited. At 9:30 still no truck. At 10 I called Lowes delivery and was told the item was cancelled!!! Called Lowes appliances and no one was available to talk with me - too busy with other customers but I would get a call back. Never happened! I called my friend whose name was on the purchase and asked him to try and call. He was told the same thing. The refrigerator that we purchased was (apparently) sold to someone else. Order was cancelled and we were not notified. The insult here is that no one had the decency to even bother to let us know. I'm stuck waiting for a non-delivery! We are then told flippantly that we would be notified when more "product" becomes available and we would have to reschedule for another supposed delivery. So I put the existing refrigerator back together, etc. Front door back and drove 150 miles home. Now I'm supposed to waste another 20 gallons of gas and "hope" for a re-delivery with an existing unreliable refrigerator. My friend went and called and managed to get a scratch and dent model of the refrigerator at a GREAT discount of 10% that doesn't even cover the cost of the gas to go back and wait for a Saturday delivery. If the above is an example of Lowes business model it is pretty lousy. read more

It took 8 days for Lowe's to show up after my dad had gone in there. 8 days for two people in their 80s to get a water heater installed from Lowe's. Went to return a couple of items last night - with receipt thank you - and encountered The Returns Chick. Devoid of personality or even feigned interest, girlfriend is only slightly more engaging than an ice cube with a melted center of salt. Slow. Abrasive. Coldly inefficient. Will stare right at you while you wait in line for 12 minutes and not bother to call for backup or acknowledge the purgatory that is her register. Very very Home Depot. Not Lowes. Barely eeked out two stars for weakly meeting expectations but only as a result of the killer clearance markdowns often avail in the flooring dept. Buy lots of those odd lot leftovers and they know how to move 'em. Would love to give the store as a whole higher marks but I'm aftaid Single Wide Sally @ Returns is by no means an exception, I'm beginnjng to think it's a Sonora thing as these experiences are piling up faster than EBT cards outside a commissary. The store itself is clean, employees are generally helpful however my review is based off of a HORRIBLE experience with Lowe's appliance delivery team. I purchased a refrigerator almost 1 year ago from the Sonora Lowe's location. I had delivery set up and paid the additional fee due to the location of my property totaling $150. I also requested that they remove my old appliance as I no longer had a use for it and had no where to store it. When the delivery people arrived they got to work fairly quickly. One gentleman was unwrapping the new fridge while the other began removing the old one. Right away I noticed there was going to be a problem. The man removing my fridge in the kitchen was using his hands, wiggling the fridge back and forth out of the alcove on brand new LINOLEUM flooring. Sure enough, when the fridge was removed there were several deep tears in my flooring. You'd think that was the worst part of the experience however that was only the beginning. After moving the refrigerator making the gashes visible they did not say much to me. They pointed to the gashes and said " we wanted to show you this". I was home by myself and felt very uncomfortable around them due to their obvious change in demeanor. They were whispering to each other, making quiet phone calls to their manager, snapping pictures of the damage and at the end all they could tell me was that their manager would be in contact with me. This is where I made my mistake. I realize now that I should have had them sign something, called someone with them present...something.....but truthfully I was home by myself and felt very intimidated by them. Long story short, I had to reach out to the manager after a couple of days because no one ever called me. He informed me that the drivers said they did nothing wrong and that the damage was there before they started the work. Funny how tears going in the same direction as a refrigerator being REMOVED FROM AN ALCOVE would already be there when the flooring was weeks old and the fridge had not moved. I told the manager this was not acceptable and was eventually referred to their legal department. What a joke. After 6 months and ZERO opportunity to tell my side of the story or provide adequate pictures of the damage they decided the damage was existing and denied my claim. Needless to say I will NEVER shop at Lowe's again. I am a firm believer in giving any business a chance to remedy any mistakes that may happen because mistakes do happen. Although I was drawing a blank at the time the stuff I was looking for is called Cyanoacrylate. So I went to the area where baseboards are sold looking for the product, Without much success I ended up asking an employee who had been passing by he explained to me to go talk to that girl over there he was on his way to do something else, So she was talking to another employee at theDesign station for windows, After describing what I was looking for she had no clue so she says let me take you to the manager she knows, We went to the other design station down near the kitchen tower tops, stoves, refrigerators. She started to explain to the manager She started to explain to the manager About what I was looking for, She replied oh he wants silicone, And I explained to her when I explained to begin with about this is glowing wood together on the corners pieces in transition pieces, I also explained silicone is good between the wall and the baseboard but not gluing the baseboards together, She started to argue that that would work fine, So in frustration I went on my phone to look up the information , The 2nd employee that took me to her came back and was talking to me now showing her this is what I was talking about and she was oh yeah she looked on her phone and says that they don't carry it that I need to go to home depot, So I went back to kind of educate the manager so if another customer comes in and has a problem that she would know what they're talking about and direct them correctly and not just sell them something that's not gonna work. She said" I don't have time for videos" And started to walk away, I told her she sucks at customer service, Her reply was have a nice day. I am in the process of redesigning my house repairing it and putting in brand new fixtures, appliances and HVAC system, I have already purchased a lot of materials from them, Other than the things they didn't have and I had to get elsewhere, I am pretty much done with Lowe's I don't need to be treated like garbage and try to educate their employees and help out so they don't mislead other customers, Apparently the company I know has been told over and over again and does not care, There may be 1 or 2 employees that are decent the rest of them are worthless and not worth shopping there they will not see another dime of my money. read more
