The place to go if you want to pay the highest prices. Salesman brought out a $250 battery for my moms Toyota Corrola. Didn't matter there was a $129 option. I was stunned at how incredible the service was at this store. I missed an important engagement because the battery in my truck was dead for the second time in a week. It was time to buy a new one. The one in Copper wouldn't have the one I needed until the next day. I could get one at 0'Reillys or Walmart. Both are in Sonora and not far from each other. Walmart's similar battery was $40 cheaper but I've tried ordering online with same day pickup at the store a few times with sad results. I wasn't too keen on trying, again. I decided to try to buy one at O'Reilly's and if the service wasn't good or they didn't really have one in stock, I'd go to Walmart for the cheaper one. I called from the parking lot and asked if they really did have one in stock. The clerk went to check, returned and said, "Yes, we have a couple of them." I went inside and I got Matthew at the counter. I showed him the screenshot of what I needed and he went to the back to get it. He rang me up, proficiently, explaining the deposit charge and how I needed to bring the old battery in for my deposit. Intold him I had planned to replace it out in the parking lot but didn't have any tools with me. I've never done it before and did he know what tools I would need. He began to explain it and then said, "Would you like me to come out and help you with that?" Well, YEAH!!! Wow. It's been years since a clerk at an auto parts store offered to help me. It used to be the norm but now they usually say something like, "We don't do that anymore. We haven't been trained to work on cars." or something like that. Matthew also suggested he get his personal toolbox to help me with. Then, he quickly found the right wrench sizes, removed the old battery and expediently installed the new one. He had me carry his lightweight toolbox back inside while he carried the dirty old battery, then rang the deposit return back in my card. A plus plus for Matthew. Sonora is about 30 minutes away but it is now my go-to store, thanks to Matthew. read more

I went to this store to purchase a new battery for my 2003 Trailblazer. I had to have a jump just to get to the store. I didn't turn the ignition off because I wasn't sure it would start again. I wanted to be sure it was the battery and made sure they had a replacement in stock. The clerk told me I would need to turn the vehicle off for him to test it. I told him I couldn't be sure it would start again but I told him if it was the battery I was going to purchase one they had to replace it. After turning it off and finding out I I needed a new battery I went inside to purchase it. It was only then he told me he could not put the new battery in for me. He was not the only worker in the store and it wasn't busy. He then informed me if I needed a jump they couldn't get it started again either. I was in tears. I had already told him I had an appointment in 30 minutes and had my dog in the car and needed to get to the Vet. Never did anything else to help me in any Way. I had no roadside and told him so. He just left me to figure it out. God was with me and I was able to get the battery to turn over. I was beside my self. I will never use this place for anything else ever again. read more

What a positive experience! Place was packed, lines down both aisles but employees communicated as to how long the wait would be. I needed them to read codes and had the good fortune of Raymond helping me. Raymond was quick, effective, and pleasant. At times, both employees and customers approached him while he was helping me and I observed him to answer questions but stay on task with what I needed. He ended up finding a bad cell and replacing my battery. Thank you, O'Reilly, for having such competent staff. read more

I needed new wiper blades after one flew off onto Phoenix Lake Road into darkness. I visited O'Reilly and was lucky enough to be helped out by Bob. He was friendly and helpful, taking the time to put them on my Pain-in-the-rear difficult German car. It wasn't easy but, he persisted and then helped me with two other items I needed. Look, I know it's a chain auto parts store, but as far as that goes, this particular store is pretty good. I had to change out the water pump on my RAM 1500 while on vacation in the area. It was late on a Saturday, I called them and they had my part and offered to pull it and even stay late for me if I couldn't make it by the 9 PM closing time. When I arrived, I still needed to grab additional parts and tools and the two guys behind the counter were very helpful and quite patient as I picked up silicone sealer, socket set, drop light etc. They could see I was exhausted and a little flustered and took a few minutes to go over any additional things I would need to do a roadside repair and offered me a fan clutch tool to remove the fan, which turned out to be a life saver, couldn't have done the job with out it. So KUDOS to the two guys working that night. Sonora is a small country town, and it's nice to find folks who really seem to care. read more

Went to O'Reilly's in Sonora and Ray was working behind the counter. I needed fuses for my car but I was not sure of a few things and Ray went beyond the call of duty to be sure I got what I needed. Then there was a phone call that the other employee asked Ray to assist with and he was able to do so with grace. He did it in a way that I did not feel I wasn't as important. I have not experienced excellent customer service like this in a very long time. read more

Well if I could zero stars for service I would. Today we came in to have our rotor turned. We were told it would be done in a hour. We prepaid and said we would be back in a hour and a half. 2 hours later when we came back they had not even started it. The day before we had taken the first rotor in and we were told the same thing and it took 3 hours. If a company cannot stand behind the times they give customers maybe they should reevaluate the jobs they can do at the store. No apologies were given by the employees. I will not be returning to this store. Find another auto store to go too. We will be doing that! read more

I came in here desperately seeking guidance/help to my failing engine. This compassionate young man named Matt was so busy helping customers on the phone and in the store. Yet, when it became my turn, he not only helped me professionally, resolved my dead battery issue, fixed and replaced it.. and also provided me insight to the source of the problem for future maintenance. I was given honest engine performance suggestions to benefit me. This place gave piece of mind money cannot buy when needing a working vehicle. read more

Hit or miss for sure. Most people behind the counter are obviously familiar with wrenching. NOT MATT! He said himself he's only had 3 cars in his life, that never break down. So when he answers a question, or gives advice, it's based on second hand information. But if you ask for alternatives.....forget it. Worse than saying "I don't know ", on numerous occasions, he has told me I have no options, other than the one he has presented incorrectly. Not through malice I'm pretty sure, but through arrogant ignorance. He thinks he knows a lot more than he'll tell you he knows. Too bad RadioShack moved out of town, Matt would've been perfect for that place. They never give the right answer to a technical question. And they're all managers. read more
