Ordered a fridge from Lowes.com on May 20th.. it is July 14th today and I am still waiting. I called Lowes on June 27th and a representative told me that the fridge had not been manufactured yet!, and suggested I order one that is in stock, so I did. I called Lowes on July 11th to confirm my delivery date of 7/13/20 - Monday. All good! Monday came and the website said Tuesday (today). Today the internet says tomorrow.. I have been on hold for "Lowes customer care" ( yes, that is what they call it!) for 45 minutes so far today.. Lowes rep took my call a minute ago and will call the store to find out when the delivery will take place so I am back on hold! Total phone time with Lowes today 1 hour and 9 minutes. I was now told by customer care rep (not her fault) that the store did not answer and I may not get the fridge this week.. From the start there has been no voluntary communication from Lowes. I have had to chase them all the way to find out whats going on. Lowes, I guess the name says it all. Lesson learned. read more

I think maybe once I bought a roll of paper towels there, otherwise have always left empty handed. Today I wanted to get a chainsaw that I read online was in stock and a few other items. Walked through the entire store without having a single employee look me in the eyes. Mostly they ducked down side aisles when they saw me in their peripheral vision coming their way. Would have been nice for someone to say "hi" at least. Finally got to the chainsaws to see the item I wanted wasnt on the shelf, but boxed up on the very top of the overstock section. Looked around trying to find someone in the section to help me without success, but did get a laugh at a few who saw me first and scurried away like mice. Left after 10 minutes of that nonsense. In addition the store was in a state of disarray with a lot of stuff just sitting in aisles. It was unpleasant just being in there. Yet again, Amazon will get my business. Clearly Lowes has had an overhaul in customer service practices hired new employees (with great customer service skills) because the last 2 times I have gone, I got great service. A big shout out to Michael and Jake and a red haired gal in the applicance department for helping me with an overhead range microwave (long story). If you want to do kitchen cabinets w/install google reviews and run: Horrible. The communication link between the customer installer and fabricator are broken. Ordered cabinets May 3 2019, we are at September 30, 2019, and the kitchen is not done (and it's a mess). Two mismeasure resulted in 8 weeks of slip ( 4 weeks for each mismeasure). We had to ask for a different installer because the original installer could not measure. Lowes does not take any proactive oversight of the project, it's on you. What a mess.. i wish I had read the reviews. BTW the cabinets are ALWAYS 25 to 30% off, don't rush. Do the research. There are a lot of good people at the Tigard OR store, I don't fault them. I think the store manager of Tigard is a failure and that corporate has a bad model. read more

I came in here for a patio table that was sold out at the Lowes near home. I swear, I always want the things that are stored high up on the shelves. Randy came and tried to get it with the roller ladder which didn't work, so he left and came back with a lift. He still had to get it onto the lift, which looked difficult, I was standing below biting my nails. He was still very chipper and happy to help. He got it onto the flat cart and positioned it so it was ready to be pulled down the pathway. I took up 15 minutes of this guys time and he was nothing but pleasant and helpful, thank you, Randy! When I got to the parking lot, I regretted telling the cashier I wouldn't need help loading. I was standing there thinking, "son of a biscuit this is awkward and heavy -- now what? " When Doug came out of no where and said, "you need some help? I can call someone for you?" Then he smiled and offered a much needed hand. We realized it didn't fit into my suv without all the seats flipped down. My toddler was in one of those seats so it wasn't an option. Then I thought, let's throw it on the roof rack! Thank goodness Doug is tall, cause he was lifting and I was all finger tips. I went back in to buy some straps and clamps while he carried on his work. Then when he saw me come out, he came back over to help me secure it to my roof. He even went back inside for twine to help make loops for us to use. Thank you, Doug! Don't ever trust their recommendations for products to go together, and don't ever, ever, ever have them install anything. We bought a set of doors with screen doors to go with them, and turns out they sold us a size of screen doors that physically did not fit. At least, that's what their installer said the first time, after the delivery guys had dropped it and scraped it up, by the way. So when we sent that one back and got the right one, the installers had trouble getting it set up, but eventually did--with one part broken. Good job, guys. I made numerous phone calls expecting them to come out and replace the broken part, but finally gave up expecting responses after they acted like the part was made out of unobtanium. I called the vendor, ordered the part myself for $10, and fixed it myself. They could easily have done the same, and I wouldn't be writing this one-star review. We hate Home Depot, but what we hate worse is not having a good alternative. We tried so hard and Lowe's punished us all the way. We are done with them. We are beyond done with their installers. At this point I assume people sign up to be their installers because their work otherwise does not speak for itself. read more

I had a racist encounter with an employee working there named Roger. He made me feel unwelcome, approached my family multiple times saying "Serious buyers only" while we were looking at refrigerators. We were going to buy a $2000 fridge but he approached us 3 times and even got in our faces to passive aggressively move us out of where the fridge section. I'm beyond floored as Asian Americans to have experience this at a time when there's so much racism happening. He honestly needs to get fired because there's no place for an employee like him and his racist attitude lost Lowes a sale of an expensive appliance and pushed us away from coming back to Lowes in general. When I got to the store, I could not find it in the usual places they stock it so I asked the garden center cashier for help. She tried to call for assistance and even got on the PA system TWICE to request help. No one came!!! By the time, I got proper assistance 45 minutes to an hour had gone by! Should have been a 5 minute visit at most. The only consolation was that I was provided a good discount for the hardship, but Lowe's needs to have its associates revisit the concept of "proper customer service" cause it appears to be sorely lacking at this location. Absolute worst experience at a hardware store in recent memory. Also, I second another reviewer's comment that when you call for assistance, their phones often ring FOREVER before someone picks up. I used to be a regular Lowe's customer but my last experience changed that. We bought a locking mailbox from them along with a matching post. We got the post installed by our handyman (cemented into the ground) only to discover that the mailbox was dented (when we opened the box to install it). I called Lowe's and was on hold for 35 minutes. The customer service person told me that the mailbox was discontinued. I can't find another mailbox to match both the color and installation mounts. When I asked for at least a discount I got 10% ($11). Considering we have to paint the mailbox and hammer out the dents it seems very cheap of them. I ordered a water heater to be delivered to the store. Jan 12th Expected delivery January 26th January 26th arrives. Says delayed. I call to get an update on the heater and they said it's in transit from Tennessee. Will be delivered at the store toward end of February. End of February no water heater. Call again they said they can't find it?!?! Call again March 7th, understands my situation advises me to call back Monday and get a supervisor .... Long story short The store lost/gave away my water tank! Corporate couldn't get ahold of the store?!?! They tell me..."I keep calling the store, and they keep hanging up on me". Basically I will NEVER EVER shop at Lowe's and especially this particular Lowe's I will only shop at Home Depot from here on out. ***Frustration level is 1000%, but not everyone at customer service was bad. I feel like Lowe's needs to retrain customer support. Lowe's corporate needs to help this store in particular be better at communicating and helping customers. Like many, I have visited Lowes numerous times over the years. I am not a professional tradesman or even a DIY'er, but there are times when I need to buy something related either at the direction of a contractor, or something small and innocuous. The issue I have with Lowes and similar stores isn't the selection, but the service. Sometimes you'll get a person that tries really hard to be helpful, but more often than not, you don't. In all cases, it seems the people working these positions don't seem to know what they're talking about - ask 10 "salespeople" the same question and expect 10 different answers. These can range from "I dunno", to "it's not my department", to a convoluted answer that another associate disagrees with. I think Lowes is fine for the professional that knows exactly what they need, but for novices like myself that need sound advice before the sale, they're virtually useless. Certainly undependable in terms of product knoweledge and advice. I once had a broken shower handle and was told a plumber would need to "drill a hole and replace everything". Another "salesperson" suggested I buy a new mixer and facade, but couldn't tell me anymore, as in specifics. I wound up at a professional plumbing house, showed them a picture of the broken plastic knob (we'd been having to use pliers to operate the mixer), and in 5 minutes and about $3.00, I was on my way with an easy-to-install solution. That said, I cannot recommend Lowes unless you are in fact a professional tradesperson and don't need advice. read more

August 12 - online order of Kohler medicine cabinet August 14 - received email from Lowes it is ready for pickup at store August 14 - drove 10 miles to store to pick it up - They "could not find it" - Waited 20 minutes while "someone is getting it" - No communication... waited... finally asked again - "someone is looking for it" - 50 minutes waiting, finally told they couldn't find it - Told they would contact me to come get it... drove 10 miles home August 15 - received phone voicemail saying "your order has arrived at Lowes Tigard location... please come pick it up August 15 - drove 10 miles to store to pick it up - They "could not find it" - Waited another 20 minutes - Finally told by a service person that they could not find it and the manager would give me a 20% discount for my trouble - and call me when I can come get it. - I asked for it to be delivered to my home. They said they would do that... and give me the 20% off. - Said the manager would call me on Monday, August 17 to assure me it was being delivered - Drove 10 miles home August 17 - received another email saying it was ready for pickup at the store... they would only keep it 3 more days... then would be cancelled August 19 - haven't heard anything from a manager, so called store and asked if they had this or would deliver it. - Was told it is waiting for me to pick it up - Drove to store - 10 miles (one way) - Waited 25 minutes to be able to get the discount promised - Got my own cart, took it out to my pickup, loaded it myself, no help offered or available This is a terribly sad customer experience. Unfortunately, it is my third time having a terrible experience at Tigard Lowes online pickup. They are woefully understaffed and not knowledgeable about how to help many customers. Purchased a w/d in store. Due to being understaffed and them using a very outdated system, it took almost 2 hours. The gentleman who helped us was great, but you could tell he was frustrated as well. The one star review is based on communication and delivery. The men who delivered our w/d messed everything up. First, they did a crappy job and completely bent the vent. Second, they said they couldn't connect it to our gas bc our gas wouldn't turn off. After they left, they somehow messed up our water heater and it stopped working! We called NW gas to come out and they explained that it was the lowes installers who turned off the water heater AND the gas can turn off, they just didn't know how. Seriously, how did they do so much damage and still not actually install anything. So now, I need them to come out and actually install the dryer properly but that is also impossible. Everyone at this store has been a great help as much as they are allowed. The Corporate data miners.... not so much. Two years ago when buying a $ 1000 log splitter (an assembly disaster) I was persuaded to get a Lowe's credit card to get a 5% discount. Only later did I find out Lowe's also offers a 10% discount for veterans. I carry an ancient military ID which has worked well on cash purchases for a couple of years. THAT was before the data miners at Corporate decided they had to track all cash purchases much like Facebook wants to track friends, contacts, messages and searches. So now my old ID, my original discharge papers, my decorations, DD214, seem to no longer be adequate to claim my veterans discount. Why? Because my phone number is "...not in our system...". Well it is in their credit card system , which is actually just another Synchrony Bank card. And they are incapable of entering my phone number at the register or customer service desk. What they really want is for me to fill out a complete new form so they can sell my data to time salesmen... I mean, "...for your convenience". Them: "We do not sell your phone number". Me: "Fine. Then give me a YOUR phone number and I promise I won't share it". The entire point of discounts to card holders and geezer vets is to establish loyalty. It is NOT working. read more

Does this store even have any sort of management? Visited the site yesterday. Under this Covid-19 situation, many stores have customers to line up before entrances in order to promote social distancing and ensure overall safety. You won't see that in this store. I guess they don't expect many customers anyway??? Registers in the garden area do not even have any method to ensure social distancing. Lines inside the store do have "wait here" spots painted on the floor. There are two lines in the store. One is for general checkout, which is located at the South wing of the store. The other one is for returning and exchanging, located at the North wing, which is right next to light bulbs. And guess which line did I go after I grabbed a few lightbulbs? Yes, they do have a sign telling people this line is not for checkout but the sign is just in front of the registers. You won't see that until you waited 15-20 minutes in that disgusting line and ready to be called in front of the line. There was no one around to make sure you would come to the correct line. Once the employee who called me realized I was there for checkout, she asked me to go to the other line, with some sort of unhappy attitude and without apologizing for inconvenience and all the time I wasted in that line, not even any showing of "I understand this sucks but please just go to the other line". I guess service is the least thing they care (not sure what else do they care though). Some DMVs might have better services. Probably they are just tired of customers so let me help you with that: NEVER GOING TO LOWE'S AGAIN. read more

We're doing a full kitchen remodel and decided to go with Lowe's for our appliance upgrades and installs. A key reason is I'm a veteran and they have a very thoughtful and generous program for veterans. We purchased our new cooktop and have planned to also get our frig, dishwasher and oven through them. However, just dealing with them on our initial cooktop purchase and install is making us rethink whether the discount for veterans is worth the amount of stress and frustration we've had with our initial purchase. The worst of the worst has been dealing with an extremely unprofessional, snarky and condescending customer service person in the install department named "Debbie". When asked basic questions such as "what is your departments role in the install process?" Or "how long is the estimated install time for a gas cooktop"...she not only struggled to answer but her default response was to emotionally shut down and try to pass me on to a manager. How can someone in that department not have the ability and temperament to answer basic questions without trying to pass me off to someone else? I didn't use foul language. I didn't insult her. I simply asked basic questions. I wasn't mad when I called in but was irate by the end of our conversation when she decided to hang up on me when I asked her to answer these basic questions instead of trying to pass me off to a manager. Lowe's....this is either a training issue or a personnel issue. Sadly it's not isolated to a single department. We've had several communication issues with those in the appliance department as well. If you want to convince me why I should return to spend another $5000 there vs Home Depot or Standard Appliances your service level and communication needs to improve quickly. It's nice you give a discount to veterans...but is it worth it if the process is going to be a nightmare? On a positive note the 3rd party installers were fantastic! My husband is a 70 year old male who today had one of the worst customer service experience, on Sunday May 27th at Lowes in Tigard. He had asked Steve back in lumber to set aside 12- 16 foot decking boards, which Steve said he would do. When it came time for purchasing, they were not set aside and were not on a cart as requested. He asked where Steve went and nobody seem to know or care. One gentlemen in lumber brought him a cart and said that he was off duty. He asked the clerk to call for someone and got no response and help to load and off load this product into his trailer. He requested to see the manager. When he complained to the manager that there was no one to help him, she snapped that this was Memorial Day weekend and they're very busy, but she would call for some help. He waited for quite awhile and no help came. He decided to load these himself into the trailer. Finally a young man come just in time to load one board. read more

First I walked miles in order to find someone to help me. Then I waited while they tried to find a person from the proper department. I ended up consulting 3 different people, then went to customer service, and no one had the slightest idea where to find it. Their suggestion was to try another store or order online. The last time I ordered online from them the item arrived broken, and then I had to take it back to return it. And then order again. It's a mixed bag. The best part is their LAR credit card gives you a 5% discount. Home Depot used to give you a 5% discount if you had this card, but not anymore :-(. Some prices are better, some are higher, you must compare. The very worst part is their customer service, or lack of. It's really difficult to find knowledgeable, helpful workers. We ordered a shed from Lowe's home improvement last summer, and paid additional to have it professionally installed in our yard. The installation was fast and efficient and everything looked good at first. But the next day I noticed that the vents that we had paid extra for weren't installed this was already after we had painted the shed and filled it with our garden things. I called the number of the installation company to let them know and They said I would need to schedule with the individual Contractor, And said they would let him know to contact us. Every time he contacted us or had available time did not work with our time and we kept trying to get a time scheduled that worked for both of us he finally gave up and I haven't heard from them since. Since then the doors are sagging the lock assembly was put together shabbly and it won't stay locked and the door sticks shut. I would never recommend spending extra money to have them professionally install their sheds. read more

I bought a refrigerator from this location. From beginning to end this has been an awful experience. The installers did not show up to our home till almost 8pm at night. We had a time from 12pm to 4pm. There was no phone call or warning. We didn't even think they were going to come. Also they came in installed in less than 40 minutes. Did not hook up the water or the ice maker. The installers told us it would take 5 hours. After going to bed and waking up the next morning still nothing. We called the store continually all the next day and no one answered the phone. After being fed up we went to the store. After waiting in line for 45 minutes we were told there is nothing that they could do because the company they hire for installation is a third party. If you are going to spend your hard earned money, please do it with a company that will respect your time and property. read more

My wife and I have set up a flooring project for our new home and it has been a communication nightmare the entire way. After we placed our order and paid for everything we sat and waited for an entire two weeks. We were originally told its shouldn't take more than 10 days to get the material for the flooring. I finally call in and I am told that they have had the material for a good 4 days. Why was I not told? I was then promised I would be getting a call shortly to set up a delivery scheduling. It has been 2 days now and not a single call. I call back, and I am just told someone would be returning my call tomorrow. On top of all this they also want to charge for delivery, when I know for a fact that other Lowes departments do not charge for the delivery of product. Honestly it is starting to look like our flooring project is never going to get going. Way back in another life, on another coast, I was a manager for Lowe's. Always preferred them to Home Depot. So, I stopped in to this location looking for some lumber, some pipe fittings, etc. I literally walked in, and walked the entire circuit of the store twice, looking for an employee. Three different times I saw one and asked a simple question (Where is pipe insulation wrap?). All three times, these employee's breezed right past me as though I simply didn't exist. As I strolled through the store, there were several little groups of employees, male and female, lost in conversation, sitting on display shelves, there was total disregard for safety with ladders open in aisles, but always, every employee seemed to have mastered the art of completely ignoring that you are there. 45 total minutes spent. So you know you are an adult when you find yourself going to Lowe's more than any other store.... This location is smaller than most, which is good and bad. Good because this smaller location has served as a store and a gym for me. I couldn't imagine it being any bigger. I am worn out after shopping here. That being said they don't have some things other locations do and have less in stock. The people here have always been extremely helpful. Yes some of them might not know much, but they try to find out the answers for you. Some of the workers are incredibly knowledgeable also. We also accidentally left an item we paid for in the bottom of our cart when we left. Luckily they and we realized it. We went back and got the item with no problem. read more
