My wife prefers this Home Depot because it's just a four-minute walk from our house. However, I'm constantly amazed by the poor customer service. I consistently wish for our neighborhood hardware store. The value isn't worth the experience, and the selection isn't worth the hassle. You'll encounter bad customer service, with everyone blaming someone else for their problems. There are also numerous quality issues. I'm only giving this place two stars because there's a Jamaican guy who works there who is an absolute top-tier guy. If he's there, I'll always look to him. It's astounding how a place so busy with customers fails to take advantage of the demand and consistently makes everything more and more painful for customers. 1.Only TWO entrances now? Hope you brought your hiking shoes. 2. Where are all the customer service people? Unless you accost one, you will never be asked if you need assistance (unlike Ace). 3. It looks like every human cashier has been replaced with Self-checkout with only a few to assist. The garden center however had 2 helpers but unfortunately the shorter line I got it was literally 4 times as slow. Here's a speed tip, choose the older cashiers. 3. Hope you locked your car or camper shell. The homeless people like to steal from your cars. 4. The parking lots are DANGEROUSLY DARK at night. Who runs this company these days?? Lowes is just as bad. The market is ripe for a better competitor. @ home depot - bought an expensive lg dishwasher on 5/18/22. paid $160 for a 5 year allstate protection plan. never again!!!!! what a bunch of incompetent companies!!! why does home depot encourage customers do business with these people???????between allstate & square trade nothing is getting done. notified them on 2/9, appt with tech on 2/13. he said needs new water pump motor, and tells us it'll be ordered. 5-10 days to come in.... it is not ordered, square trade is assessing the situation, has reached out to tech, the only way they knew it hadn't been repaired is i filled out a survey?????? horrible way to do business. absolutely dragging their feet. appliance protection plans are a complete rip off!!!!!! taking your $$ in the hopes they make it so difficult that you'll give up and just buy a new appliance. lesson learned. i'm going to costco next time, and will not purchase a protection plan. and i'll buy a bosch. read more

I know there is a team Lowe's and team Home Depot topic but we are definitely team Lowe's. We have to drive 20+ miles just to get here and it's closer than Lowe's. We rent tools here for our small business and every single time have had nothing but problems. The staff are friendly sometimes but the tools are crap. We have had to drive back and forth several times (while on the clock for a 4 or 8 hour rental window) because we've been given tools that are broken, don't work or are too dull and not well maintained. Today I was told we got the wrong brush for our job, drove all the way back (40 miles and one hour both ways) to be given another brush that he said would work and it again did not. Waste of time, money and weather cause now it's too hot to finish our job. Value is not there. I know the Home Depot around houghton is opening soon so hopefully that one is better. read more

We spent A LOT of money and bought a brand new washer and dryer through HomeDepot and the people they sent out to switch the doors (we paid for this service) stripped the screws AND now our washer won't cycle through because they messed something up and are refusing to contact us back to fix it and trying to blame GE when this is a HOME DEPOT problem. Service is horrendous at this location. The majority of employees are morbidly obese and don't want to help. The layout of the store is terrible with merchandise displayed in the middle of the walkway. Selection is not good because you can't get anyone to help you find it. Lowe's is cheaper on most products and I gladly pay more at Ace Hardware so I don't have to deal with the crew at Home Depot. After having an order for delivery marked delivered when it wasn't, I live in a gated community they didn't come here, and they wouldn't refund my money I cancelled my Home Depot credit card had the card issuer refund my money, and I haven't been to Home Depot since. This is the same company that allows people to walk out of the front door without paying with loaded carts but treat me like a thief over $123.47. read more

Over and Above Customer Service!! During my visit to Home Depot I was assisted by two people. Darren helped me with picking out the best Saw Zaw for my specific needs. I also spoke with him about chargers and extra batteries. He showed me where I would find them for when I'm ready to come back and pick them up. So courteous and professional, with the knowledge for this a past assistance he gave me. When I went to check out I was assisted by Sandra. She was sooo extremely nice and it was a pleasure to have her answer some questions. She recommended the 2-year protection plan and how to register online. I needed the assistance of one of the store scooters for all the back and forth I had to do. Without that cart, I would not have been able to get the shopping done for the items I needed. There are other Home Depots and I'm sure their service is also great, but I will be doing my shopping at this store at 7677 E Broadway, Tucson, Az. read more

DONT buy a big appliance that has to get shipped. They show up 30 minutes before scheduled and don't wait for the schedule time. I called customer service. They say it's their policy if no one picksup the call they will circle around for the drop off later. The people in this store are super helpful. I have been here many times to experience the great customer care but yesterday was the best. I was looking for the "thingy that plugs into the wall and pivots so you can plug stuff in sideways." I think that's how I described it. The wonderfully helpful gentleman led me to aisle 5 and although it appeared they were sold out, he got down on his knees and searched behind all the merchandise. He seemed truly upset that they didn't have any swivel outlets. So I went to the other side of the store to get some fasteners. I turned around and there he was, running after me. He had found one! The last one. It's exactly what I needed. I appreciate this kind of service every time. I don't walk well, and often need to use a wheelchair and the people at the returns desk will always let me check out on that side of the store so I don't have to hobble to the other side. We have used this location and this has been our experience. They sub out vendors to deliver appliances you purchase from home depot and they were downright scary. Not to mention they dropped my dishwasher and thought I might want it installed with a big old dent in it. No carry out of heavy objects to your car....Finally, if you are going to another location to pick another item up, you have to ask them to verify the item is not broken. They were sending me to Oro Valley for tile before asking that store to open the boxes and verify contents were not broken and if I hadn't asked I would have driven 40 minutes for broken tile....no bueno...All of this when I was trying to get a home ready to sell and didn't need this aggravation. And they reimburse the exact way you pay so it's a complete pain if you no longer have a specific credit card ...it's great if you are a contractor but if you need help as a homeowner, not so much.. read more

However, what has really pushed me to leave a 2 Star is the fact that this Home Depot has gotten rid of all of its cashiers and replaced them for self checkout areas. We searched for a wood chipper and finally found one at HD. Normally I love this company but not this time. We live in OV so it took almost an hour to get across town to pick it up (that's okay, not their issue). When my husband gets there they are mad that he doesn't have a trailer, just his truck???? No one said to bring a trailer-that would have been good to tell us. He brings it home but no safety pusher ??? Ooops they forgot to include it. We go to use it and it's clogging, smoking and basically useless. We open it all up to find broken blades. AREN'T THEY SUPPOSED TO CHECK THIS FIRST? Back across town.... Joey the supervisor who works in the rental department apologized offered to prorate my bill. Yeah that's a NO. I explained it would be a full credit, showed him the pictures and he said its supposed to be checked first, very sorry and I got my full credit. Nancy, in appliances, is AMAZING! Yesterday I had to buy soil and I had to bring my elderly loved one, with dementia, with me. My LO wanted to know if she had any magazines (because his son might be renovating). He sort of went into a dementia state and wasn't making sense. He was starting to get a little bit annoyed and I felt so bad for her because it was hard for me to tell him that we had to leave since they didn't have any magazines available. She was so calm and helpful. Even found us an old magazine. This store is great all around. read more

We just finished a fairly involved DIY home improvement project, so we spent a LOT of time in this Home Depot. The employees were all very helpful with whatever we needed. Advice on tools, assistance retrieving/finding items, help with returns, help when the check out register was being finicky, and anything and everything else. We even had an old color paint that they were able to find us the new equivalent for (but hey, Behr/HD, stop changing your paint color recipes, it's not cool). They had all the flooring materials we needed and preferred in stock and easy to find. Their selection of types and varieties was more than sufficient for us, and we came up with a color palette that looks amazing in our home right now! Home Depot pricing is ok, probably a lot worse than wholesalers, but for me, much more convenient and accessible. The bathrooms were consistently a hot mess, though. I really wish they were reliably clean, especially since we were on time constraints a lot of the week so had to use public restrooms when needed. And Home Depot was a no-go in that department (when there's poop on a wall, it's time to find another restroom). Overall, I like this location and will continue to shop here. read more

Have seen many Managers/Staff come and go, along with the great ones that actually have Customer service skills (which obviously it's hard to fine now these days) what happened to treating people with respect and resolving the problem instead of making more problems just to please your ego and power to think your Right. The best part is they Smile or tell you a joke, make you laugh !!!! Makes me think why are they not in Management. Every Once in a while you'll get a great manager that knows what there doing. Then The customer comes back and tells everyone he knows how great the store is and that manager is great to deal with if a problem will occur. Everybody entitled to having a bad day but when it's constantly the same each time you know there a deeper problem Existing. What! Priced out lumber etc for a fence...in one week there was a 25% jump in price. Loading stunk. No organization. People just parked in loading area. Doing nothing but getting in the way. Every time I go in to Home Depot I am frustrated and leave angry at the stupidity of their staff -from a clerk to a so-called manager. This time: I went to purchase a hose totaling $32.59 I wrote a check and the screen said "check declined" with a code (201) I called my bank and had her on speaker so the cashier could hear for himself that checks are not Declined-it is the telecheck and the code can tell them what happened- The banker then suggested a different register and the same thing happened-so he calls the manager-he says he has no authority to check a code that my check was declined -I told him the banker said it's his system that checks are not declined. The so-called manager has no clue and no authorization-glad he has a title with no authority!! This place sucks. It is a shame since this store is around the corner from me so for a little farther -from now on I will ONlY shop at Lowes!!! read more

I needed some plumbing parts. After searching for 15 minutes in the aisle and section that was specified in the app, I finally found it on the very top shelf which was totally unreachable. I summoned a clerk for help and he paged someone to help me. 30 minutes later, I had to track someone to help me again. This time it took another 15 minutes but someone did finally show up. I spent over 1 hour waiting for help. I then went to another department to get a common sized fitting. Needless to say they did not have it. I then went to Lowes and with the immediate help of a clerk, found what I needed and was on my way home in 20 minutes. Everytime I come here they have exactly what I need in stock. This morning we went shopping for a new terlet because my boyfriend's dumper kept clogging our old one. We did our research on YouTube where a toilet scientist flushed cell phones, hot dogs, hamburgers, and golf balls down different models. We were impressed and were able to find the one we liked easily at the Home Depot! The sales people are always incredibly helpful and friendly. I consistently walk out of this huge store empty-handed because they don't have what I drove there to get and went in for. I was looking for packets of seeds. The seeds will not be restocked until the end of winter. There are things, like lettuce, that do not grow well in Tucson in the summer but thrive in winter. Where is the logic?
