I'm basing this rating on our recent experience buying a dishwasher, so the one star primarily reflects this store's appliance department, not the store as a whole. That said, the national customer care call center was also woefully understaffed and incapable of helping with our tangible issues, and our overall delivery experience was so absolutely terrible that if even an iota of of the incompetence and poor communication we experienced seeps into other departments, please do yourself a favor and just pick up what you need, look straight ahead, and get home to your project without distraction. On delivery day, a workday, we stayed home in the morning to wait for the appliance. Lowe's called at 8 a.m. and said the delivery would occur between 9:00 and noon. It didn't come. A little after noon, hearing nothing we called. "Oh," they said, "the dishwasher we planned to send was damaged, do we didn't put it on the truck." Hmm. Waiting until the the scheduled delivery day to check on the product is pretty weak, but I guess I understand that unexpected events happen. However, why did they call at 8:00 to tell us it was coming? A mystery! And why didn't they call soon afterwards to let us know it wasn't coming? Another mystery! And would we ever get what we paid for? Yet another mystery! I was especially ticked off because, based on the 8 a.m. call I disconnected our old dishwasher. Thus, no hot water in the sink, and danger of draining our sink onto the kitchen floor unless I tied up the old dishwasher drain hose, sticking out of the cabinet. So we had to leave our cleaning supplies on the kuchen floor...for how long? Getting to that. Did anyone tell us when the problem would be fixed? Nope. Did we call? Yep. Did it take us over an hour on hold to get someone to talk to? Yep. Could the person we finally reached actually help? Barely. All we got was a commitment for someone from the local store to call within 24 hours. Which didn't happen. So we had to call back, and wait on hold again. It took a full week of this nonsense to get our new delivery. Oh, and in the meantime, the old dishwasher was sitting on our stoop, in our way, making us look like a bunch of lowlifes. We paid for pickup of the old unit, and expected that since the truck was supposed to come the FIRST day I stayed home, they'd at least honor that small commitment. But nope. We had a partially disabled kitchen and this old appliance on our stoop for at least a week. Finally, on the day the dishwasher we'd already paid for (minus a small discount, grant Lowe's that) we got a delivery window. My wife agreed to leave work to go home and meet it. In a classic twist, Lowe's called an hour and a half before the agreed-upon window started and said they were almost there. So she hurriedly skipped out of a meeting and rushed home. And waited. The thing finally arrived at the end of the original time frame. Again, why did they rush her home? A mystery! At last it arrived. But a part was missing. Of course. Did Lowe's bring it to us? Nope. We had to drive to the store to get it. And when we did, it was supposed to be waiting at appliance customer service for us. But wasn't. Eventually someone got it...but it was damaged. And was missing a screw. But at least we got it. We suspect that the staff swiped it from a floor model...which might be an issue for whoever buys it, but at least someone took initiative to attempt to solve a problem. That person is definitely management material. Knowing what I know now, I really wish I'd rented a truck to pick up the same model dishwasher from an appliance store in Maryland. The minor cost savings of using Lowe's was definitely not worth all the trouble they put us through. Not even close. read more

With everything going on with this pandemic I thought it would be a good idea to get a freezer to store food. Well, there doesn't seem to be any available in the area. Most places are out and Home Depot even said they won't get any until the end of August! All except Lowes in DC. They had one 28 ft. one, which is way too big for me, and about 5 smaller chest freezers. But the only one they can sell is the 28 ft. one. The smaller ones are there but they say they can't sell them. This makes absolutely no sense! There's such a shortage of them around I can't see why they wont sell them. This is usually such a good store but with this they dropped the ball. And the manager of the area wasn't forthcoming with a reason why. read more

I can only speak to the online experience, but I'm not exaggerating when I say that this store is where customer service, decency, and all goodness and light in the universe goes to die. The presence of this building and its employees lowers the average IQ of the surrounding neighborhood by 50 points. In fact I suspect this store may have actually burned down for all the response I get from them. You try calling them? I don't think they'd answer the phone if Jesus Christ himself was on the line. I bought an appliance online specifically because it was listed as in stock and able to be delivered. I hear nothing and then finally get a call that it's actually not in stock and they'll call me when it is and they hang up on me. It's a week later and there has been no further contact. They charge some $80-90 truck fee and for what? I'm generally an understanding and patient person. If a socially avoidant introvert is leaving a public review you know you must have really messed up. If you have the misfortune of shopping at this store online or heaven forbid being inside its gloomy walls, it may be time to speak to a therapist about why you hate yourself so much. Run. This Lowe's was surprisingly very well stocked, clean and their garden center had everything I needed despite the other two locations missing essential garden needs like gravel and paver materials. Staff were friendly and it was clean overall. My favorite location in the DMV by far. read more

After calling back and waiting ANOTHER 15 minutes, I was transferred to a store manager that quickly hung up without saying a word after the sales associate said I'd been waiting 15 minutes. Terrible customer service. Ordered 2 appliances to be delivered. Took the day off work and nobody showed. Tried calling customer service and the woman said she just answers the phone. Had to drive back to the store and get the manager to arrange delivery. This is a fairly new store in a booming neighborhood. How can it be so poorly staffed and managed. read more

Never ever provide a credit card for delivery of any item taking more than 5 days. Lowes places a "pending charge" which apparently they renew every 7 days so when a charge is pending from day one they hit your card with another pending charge 7 days later locking up double the amount on your credit card and in another 7 days? Yep locking up 3 times the original purchase amount. I average about 10K a year with lowes. That will now be ZERO moving forward read more

I've been trying to get help at the light section and when I approached an associate who was standing nearby idly, he asked me to press the customer assistance button. When I pressed it I just was waiting for at least 20 minutes. In the meantime other associates were just walking around. And no one really cared. Obviously they didn't have anything to do but no interest in attending to the repeated automated loudspeaker announcements requesting help at the "fashion lighting desk". If I could leave less than one star I would, the worst hardware store I've ever seen!! And this is not just one poor experience it's so many instances of staff not caring, unaware, and just straight up not giving a shit about anything. They literally lose so much money from basic lack of effort! From washer dryer arriving to the house without the pedestal to me needing help on what type of blinds I needed and the "staff" member who told me she was busy and to basically figure things out...this place si the worst!!! Delivery at this Lowe's is a joke. Do not trust them with your $$$. They were supposed to do a big delivery, 3 appliances + toilets and cabinets. Saturday: their oursourced delivery service ("XPO Logistics") called to confirm it was coming. It never showed, because Lowe's couldn't find a piece and didn't load my purchase the truck. Sunday: Lowe's promised I would be on the first delivery Sunday. No confirmation phone call. It never made it onto the truck. Monday: Lowe's promised (again) I would be on the first delivery. No confirmation call. They scheduled me for a mid-afternoon delivery during the work day. I went shopping at the Lowe's with my wife and parents and was embarrassed by a cashier named Emmilee, checking people out in the self-check line. I had asked about a military discount and she rudely sighed, rolling her eyes, and said now she would have to do some extra work and we couldn't use it at self check out. My father, a retired Marine, had asked if it was a big deal to for her to apply that and she said it was just annoying for her to have to enter it in. We concluded our purchase with her begrudgingly pushing the receipt at us and then didn't say anything further as we walked away. It's pretty disappointing to have one of our favorite stores hire employees that are rude and disrespectful to our military members. Having been to Lowe's many times over the years, it's apparent her values don't follow the stores values. You really have to give it to LOWES with its coming to the community with more of that big box, gentrifying and exploitative love. At the very least when you come to a community you could try and serve the customers well right? I tried to buy a hot water heater that would be installed by LOWES but I wasn't certain about the dimensions so before actually buying the actual hot water heater I signed up for what is a relatively inexpensive service called a "detail expectation." With a "detail expectation" service a contractor comes in and makes measurements to insure that you are getting the right size product installed. The service costs 35bucks and is refundable upon purchase of the product you're getting measurements for. My understanding is that the contractor is supposed to call you within 48 business day hours. I signed up for the service midday Saturday so I was told that I should expect to hear from a contractor by Tuesday. It's now Friday (albeit 2am but I had to get this off my chest) and I've called LOWES several times at this point and when I can reach the plumbing department (which is itself a struggle --ehem, see "BIG BOX stores and customer service or lack thereof" next post) they give me the runaround. None of this can be handled by phone apparently, you can't even get your money back unless you're savvy enough to use a credit card for these crooks but I digress. Ok so get this, LOWES contracts this so-called "Detail Expectation" service out through MICHAEL AND SONS which is a TOTAL RIPOFF company. So I'm not sure whether I give LOWES the benefit of the doubt and blame Michael and Sons or view LOWES vicariously and deem them as shady as MICHAEL AND SONS for even associating with such an outfit. I have this idea that there is a significant quality gap in DC especially when it comes to home improvement and LOWES just helped confirm that. read more

I'm writing this review in order to pile onto the other bad reviews because, I hate to say it, it's all completely and utterly true. This Lowe's is one of the layers of hell -- arguable which it is but that's an academic concern at this point. But here's my tale of woe: I tried to buy one of the wheelbarrows outside and went inside to customer service, where there were 5 people stationed, apparently doing nothing, and was told to go get the item number from the wheelbarrow, come back to a cashier, they'd ring me up and then help me get it. So I did go outside, there was no item number but I took a picture of the barcode, came back in and there were no cashiers except the guy watching over the self check-out, who was for whatever reason chatting with this woman checking out and answering a bunch of useless questions for her. Finally I get up to him and I show the wheelbarrow I want and he says I have to go to customer service -- I told him that I had just done that and he starts fumbling for the phone. So I said basically "f**k it" and told him I was going home. Actually, I drove over to the Home Depot near Rhode Island and took 5 minutes to buy a wheelbarrow (and about 20 minutes to figure out how to fit it my car, not their fault). Just spare yourself. Total lack of service. Went into the store looking for flooring and asked an associate to call for help. Yes. Waiting waiting no help arrives. I went to the front of the store and asked a group of three cashiers if one of them could call for help and flooring. Yes. Back to flooring department waiting waiting waiting nothing. Finally I called the store from inside the store. The phone rang for over three minutes, finally someone answers I asked for the "MOD" not a long wait, I explain the situation but he cannot help me because he's working the cash register, (say want) but he will send somebody. Horrible store! Go to the register with out fans, ask about installation and were sent back to the lighting department to make our purchase with installation. No one is there, I ask two people and they say they'll get someone. A gentleman comes, he tells us he's not on the clock yet. Ridiculous! Pros: new, clean, well staffed, not crowded. Staff are generally friendly (but also not trained and pretty clueless). Cons: Ordering online for in person pickup has been a nightmare. My contractor went to pick up tile when we were notified that it was ready. Only 20 out of 100 floor tiles were ready. After tons of phone calls and visits, we still don't have tile. The Assistant Manager, Darrio Mathis, emailed me apologizing, but its now been another full week since he said the tile was ready and its STILL NOT THERE. He said they would ship it for free - we got a call saying it would be there "tomorrow." Welp, tomorrow is long gone and its still not here. All in all, go here if you want to shop their limited in-store selection and avoid chaos of Home Depot. Home Depot is much better for online orders, though. read more

DC's new Lowe's is about nineteen billion jillion times better than the other local depot of home improvement. So, with unnamed other depot's star rating falling in the deepest-darkest-soul-sucking-pits-of-hell category on Yelp, I will happily round Lowe's up to an even 4 stars. From the perspective of a DIYer renovating a home in the District, Lowe's selection of lighting, tile supplies, and kitchen materials was both stylish and affordable, and spot-on with what one might need. The store layout is user friendly, with easy access to material samples and design ideas. The staff is friendly and eager, albeit still getting their feet underneath them/will never be as knowledgeable as a pro posted up at Frager's on Capitol Hill. I was approached by a friendly face asking if I needed help finding anything, though he was not as well-versed in product-specific knowledge as he could have been. BONUS! You can order anything online and they'll have it ready for pickup in-store by the time you arrive a few hours later. I imagine this will significantly decrease the breakup/divorce rate of couples who routinely visit home improvement stores together. read more

During my first visit to the store, I spoke with a very friendly associate about installation for window treatments. I went in on Saturday to order the service, but no one was working in the installation department so someone from the paint department helped me. He put all of my information in the computer system asked me a few questions and said someone would contact me. I asked him three times was that all- Do you need to give me a date? Do I pay now? Do I need to take your information? He told me "no, were are all finished here". I went home and waited about three business days before calling to check on my order status. I was told that the order was not saved because the information was processed incorrectly and payment should have been made. I asked could I make the order over the phone and the associate said she needed the manager because her password wasn't working. I asked to have the manager call me back. The manager called back and I explained the situation, I expressed frustration, and then asked could she process my order over the phone. Whoever was on the phone sounded so unapologetic and unprofessional that I just didn't want to work with Lowes anymore. I really tried to support. I was so excited about this store being in the neighborhood, but it's more of the same. Going back to Home Depot. I don't need a new level of incompetence, when I can just go back to the dysfunction I already know. read more

I have a Lowe's account, but use the Lowe's in Oakland, MD, which I simply love. Just ordered online for pick-up. Easy. I went to pick-up and although a lot of employees standing around shooting the breeze, customer online pick-up was closed. This was at 11a during the week! Went to the customer service desk and was assisted, but it took 25 minutes w/o a lot of customers bugging the desk. Aside, staff showed all the ability to communicate, show they cared or any form of friendliness like a clueless 6 year old child. read more

Stopped in today for the first time. Had an idea what i wanted but didn't know exactly what tools and items I would purchase to execute the project... and Erin (floor associate) appears. He asked James to assist us but James was with another customer so we walked to another department hoping to return and get help from James. While in the other department, we saw Erin again, he asked if James took care of us. Erin walked with us back to his department and stayed with us the entire time going above and beyond making sure I was completely satisfied. He cut the right length of cable and made sure we had the correct tools to go with it. Go to customer service counter and ask for Erin.... he will make sure to get you what you need or find someone who will assist you. Erin - Nice attitude and great customer service!!! Store is clean. Items are out of stock too often but when in stock are in right location. Associates helpful though can be hard to find. Prices are typical big box prices. Generally good. Plant selection for summer of 2021 was terrible. Much better in the past. Not sure if it is delivery issues this year or what. read more

I have had the most incredibly bad experience in getting a dishwasher installed. I purchased it over the phone which at the time went well. Unfortunately it was completely downhill from there. I had four attempts at getting it delivered before it was finally done. I would estimate that i spent over eight (yes 8) hours on the phone trying to get things sorted out. Despite a few employees trying their best the hopelessness of their systems meant they couldn't tell me why it was never being delivered and where it was. Worst were the managers who would not take responsibility for what had happened. It was truly Kafkaesque. Do NOT use Lowe's. Thanks go to Mega Plumbing who were the only ones to emerge with any credit from the whole disgraceful episode. read more

Do NOT purchase appliance on-line from this Store!! Worst customer service and response ever!! I needed to replace a refrigerator unexpectedly. Use my Lowe's app and found one that would fit the space and to my surprise could be delivered the next day (which i guess came from this store) The Refrigerator was delivered/set up, but noticed by day 2 that the ice maker was not working, the doors on were not aligned properly and the refrigerator temperature was not regulating. It was either too cold which caused ice build up in the freezer and inside the refrigerator or condensation. There is other damage on the outside of the refrigerator. It seems as if they sent me the floor model. I called Lowes customer service line and opened a case on 5/5 to date no one has contacted me. Called DC store several times got repeatedly transferred to someone who also transferred me to a line that just rang with no one answering. Attempted to call back several time with same out come and on couple of occasions was totally disconnected. I finally spoke to someone who suggested that since it was under the 30 day warranty from Whirlpool and that I could have them come out to look at it. So I scheduled the tech to come out on 5/17. He was totally blown away that the had so many issues for being only 2 weeks old and after testing he confirmed that it was not working properly and recommended I return to the store. I should not be seeing these issues for a 2 week old frig. Again, I called the 800 number again and opened a ticket to start the refund and was told I would be contacted by the fulfillment center within 24 hours. That was over 24 hours ago and no one has called me. In addition to the refrigerator, I purchased the extended warranty which I am told I have to go into the store to get refunded. I made the mistake of making an on-line purchase and am now at the mercy of Lowes to return my call. Lowes you can do better than this. They messed up my order in so many ways, it's ridiculous. TLDR: Incorrect info that keeps changing after I make selections, delivery way outside 4-hour window without notification, wrong items delivered, tried to drop off at wrong address, no one picking up phone at store for curbside pickup so I couldn't receive pickup items, and no way to contact customer service. I placed an order, most of which could be delivered, but one item had to be picked up. The moment I placed the order, they changed the availability listed for the pickup item to later than they told me when I bought it (I mean, I hit the order button and then all of the sudden the window changed). This meant I would receive it later than I needed it (and later than advertised), but I decided to keep the item on order to use with my next project. Then, after I selected a delivery window for the delivery items, it immediately changed the window to 1/2 hour earlier than I selected, which I guess didn't matter much because the delivery showed up -- without phone call, text, or any other warning -- 1 1/2 hour early, which was very inconvenient. The delivery guy had parked in the middle of the street a few houses up from me, and I had to argue with him to get him to drop the stuff off in front of my house instead of dumping it in front of my neighbors'. This mattered because the order had the wrong size plywood, so it was much heavier than what I had ordered. I suppose I got a deal on the plywood, but I ordered the size I did for a reason and what I received was not what I wanted and difficult to work with (to his credit, when the delivery guy saw me struggling with it, he helped me get the stuff up the steps and pushed inside my house). They also delivered the wrong screws, much shorter than I ordered so they didn't work for my project at all, and it took several phone calls with the store to work that out. So they delivered the correct screws the next day -- surprise! -- before the scheduled 4-hour delivery window, but it wasn't as early as the day before, and at least they notified me with an estimate that was somewhat close to the arrival time that time. Then tonight I tried to go by and pick up my pickup item curbside. I parked in a curbside pickup space around 7:30 pm and called the number listed, then pressed 2 to be connected with curbside pickup as instructed. It just rang and rang as customers went into and left the store. After letting it ring for 8 minutes, I called back and it just rang again. So I called the main number but this time asked to be connected to customer service, which I was, and then the phone at customer service just rang without being picked up there. So I called the curbside pickup number again, and it rang until just before 8:00, when someone picked up the phone and then immediately hung up on me. So I left without my item. I wish I could contact someone at Lowe's to find out whether they intend to charge me for the item they wouldn't let me have and ask them not to, but their customer service number isn't in service past 7:00 pm and there's no info in the customer service option on their website to email them. All in all, a mess of errors! read more

This is by far the best large home improvement store in the Washington DC area. It is both cleaner and well organized and even well staffed, and it also has a nice big parking lot that is organized and kept clean. To be honest I think these features should be a standard of stores in this area but they are sadly not, and this Lowes is a welcome addition. This is a huge store with everything that Lowes has to offer. It covers everything from the garden section to home goods. This is my first stop for any home-improvement projects that require a big box retailer. The other day I stopped by with a weird project I'd cooked up in my head, and no less than five sales associates worked with me on trying to figure out the details. It was amazing! That level of service is hard to find. I also noticed that when another elderly customer was trying to cut rope, The sales associate immediately found him and do it for him. The employees are lazy and don't want to help with anything and even if they were willing to help they don't know anything about construction, I tried getting store credit for vanities I bought the wrong size and they said they cannot do store credit ! It's ridiculous now I'm stuck with vanities that do not fit my bathroom. This is why Home Depot is better than Lowe's !! It makes sense getting store credit for something I can't use and I would have been getting the vanities from the same store ! read more

Avoid this Lowe's and really all Lowe's at all costs! I signed my contract and purchased a fence with this Lowe's in April 2017 and the contract said it would be a day project that would be completed within a month. Lowe's contracted the fence build out to a 3rd party company, Long Creek Construction, and was in charge or coordinating the supplies and build of the fence. Finally, after almost a 1.5 years and countless appointments, emails, etc. in August 2018 my fence was completed. This was the biggest nightmare of a project! Coordination of supplies and schedule between Lowe's and Long Creek Construction was insanely bad... My first appointment (the day my fence was to be built and completed) Lowe's and Long Creek Construction had such bad communication and organization that my old fence was removed by Long Creek and the supplies for the new one was not deliver by Lowe's.So they left me with no fence for weeks and then Lowe's left all the supplies in my yard with no fence (see photo). Lowe's left the supplies uncovered in my yard for days and then it rained and I was stuck with a block of cement that was rock hard and unusable. I had to take over coordinating the whole project from almost the very beginning. I had repetitive issues with Lowe's not completing everything in the contract that I paid for in full upfront, including a poll to protect the fence from being hit in my alley. Every stage of the process I had to constantly follow up with Lowe's to completed their contracted obligations. They didn't put the poll in for many months which caused my fence to be hit while I waited and destroyed the fence and I had to live with a huge hole (see photo) for several months. Then when they finally put the poll in they used cheap materials because these concrete polls usually last for decades and I recently had to buy a new one (only a little over a year later) as it was hit and bent by a car and the poll hit the fence. I could write a novel about how horrible this experience was... but I'll just say that this was the worst project I've ever seen. The poor communication, unprofessionalism, and incompetency I experienced with this Lowe's and the 3rd party fence company was appalling. During this 18 month project, I coordinate and spoke with several high up executives at Lowe's that reassured me they would make this right and due to this insane experience and would compensate me for the quality issues and inconvenience, etc. once the project was competed. It's been a couple of years now and I have received $0 from Lowe's in compensation of any kind and only empty promises throughout this experience. read more

Very disappointed in how Lowe's has handled this situation as it is not my fault they and FedEx lost my order yet I am out of money and no product. Lowe's should send me a replacement as this is between them and FedEx not me. Yet I am the one that has to continue to call and try and get a refund. I will not order my next one from Lowe's! The customer service at this location is so lazy and unhelpful. I went there to buy a universal key to unlock bathroom and bedroom doors. After giving me the run around the guy in hard gets an attitude with me and says this isn't that hard just use a hanger to unlock the door. Well sir, a hanger doesn't unlock my doors but moreover I didnt come to your home looking for advice I came to a hardware store looking for a damn key to unlock a door!!!! Never again! read more

Lowe's customer service was the worst ever. When they schedule a delivery date, the msg they sent that didn't include a option to reschedule it and I have to call the customer service number. The customer service number 202 378 2500 took you forever to speak with somebody. They person picked up the phone and then just said " please hold" and then another 10 mins, then the same thing happened again. The attitude was also very rude! I needed a exact bathroom vanity to replace the same old one. But I am done with Lowe's and will never try to get anything from them. read more

If there was an option to review with 0 stars then I certainly would. Maybe there is I just don't care to check. The past 2 1/2 months have been by far the worst experience at any home improvement store ever. From Tyree in the mill work department ordering the wrong rear entry door to the management team, Michael for one, promising to follow up and be of assistance and weeks go by with nothing. Instead we have had to go to the store in person multiple occasions to learn of any update, including Tyree ordering a replacement door insert that was ordered wrong again. The past almost 3 months we have not had privacy on the rear of our home due to Tyree and Lowe's ordering our door without internal blinds and to this day not scheduled a time to install the finally received correct door insert that arrived over a week ago. Yes, go get what you need but do not order anything from mill work or speak with management for assistance. Their rude, condescending attitudes only tells you that somehow it's your fault. read more

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. We ordered a washer/dryer from Lowe's on Thursday, October 26. Didn't even get a call from XPO asking me when a good time to deliver, I just got an automated call saying it would be delivered Sunday, October 29 between 7 am - 9 pm. Our loading dock is not open on Sunday so I immediately called XPO and requested for Monday. I get a call Sunday night saying the two hour delivery window is 12 - 2 pm. I think perfect because our loading dock closes at 4 pm. At 11:45 am on Monday I get an automated call from XPO that the delivery has been rescheduled to 4-6 pm. I immediately (again) call them to say that can't work because our loading dock closes at 4 pm. They said too bad, let's reschedule. I'm annoyed because I worked from home and I say fine my fiancé can be here on Tuesday. So they rescheduled for Tuesday. Well I never got a call from XPO on Monday night with the delivery window so I call Tuesday morning and they say that I am not on the schedule and there is nothing they can do. EXCUSE ME??? So they transfer me to William at the Lowe's Washington, DC store. William assures me I am on the schedule for Wednesday between 8 am - 3 pm (acknowledging that the loading dock closes at 4 pm). So we reschedule for Wednesday. Tuesday night came and went with no call from XPO with the delivery window. I call XPO on Wednesday morning and they say I am not on the delivery schedule. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME. XPO transfers me to the Lowe's Washington, DC store and I mention how William at the store said he put me on the schedule. I ask to speak with the store manager because I am outraged. I get in touch with Brian the Assistant Store Manager at Lowe's. He assures me (seems to be a trend...) that I am now on the schedule for Friday. He even asks me what time I would like the washer/dryer to be delivered. I request the morning and again say our loading dock closes at 4 pm. Well, it's Thursday night and no I did actually get a call. However, the delivery window is 5 - 7 pm for Friday. SERIOUSLY???!!! I call XPO heated because this is now the FOURTH time something is wrong with our delivery. After speaking with Karen at XPO for 30 minutes she said I will need to talk to the Lowe's store to figure out my delivery because supposedly 4 other people requested morning deliveries. Well I said I'm almost positive the 4 other people did not have to reschedule their delivery FOUR TIMES. They kept suggesting for me to reschedule. I told them I don't trust my order to be rescheduled since again I have rescheduled FOUR TIMES. Karen kept telling me there is nothing she can do to fix the route schedule (it's 7:30 pm the night before the delivery... I think it can be changed). Either way, I call the Lowe's store since I was getting absolutely nowhere with XPO and of course ask for Brian since I spoke with him on Wednesday and he was not there. I asked for the store manager on duty and get in touch with Roberto. Roberto assured me (shocker...) that he would get in touch with XPO and call me back. It's been over an hour and I haven't heard from Roberto and haven't even gotten confirmation on my delivery. Not only is XPO terrible but Lousy Lowe's should be ashamed that they are outsourcing their delivery to a poor run company. What's the point of wasting my time (and working from home) if XPO employees can't figure out how to get me on the schedule? In addition, what's the point of trying to escalate my issue to Lowe's management when they messed up my delivery and told me I would get a call back then a hour comes and goes and nothing... If you are thinking of even considering buying from Lowe's... well let me tell you. DON'T. Is customer service even a thing anymore? I DON'T THINK SO. I am so beyond disappointed in my decision to purchase from the Lowe's Washington, DC store and even more upset that it's been over a week without a washer/dryer and over a week of working from home because we have been told our appliances will be delivered. XPO and Lowe's should revisit their business model, mission, vision and strategic vision because it is certainly non-existent. What happened to the customer is always right? I had a great experience buying a washer and drier set. I worked with Brian (a sales specialist), and he did an amazing job. Answered all my questions, dealt with the delivery-related issues, and helped me with a bunch of other random purchases I had. Great selection, great prices, and great service -- what else do you want in a home improvement store? I think some of the negative reviews were written by people who just hate doing home improvement work, and I would venture a guess and say that they strongly dislike lots of other comparable stores too. As an update to my previous review - there were a couple of items I had on order from Lowes and the store was supposed to call to let me know when they arrived. After waiting for several weeks, I called to find out where they were. After almost an hour on the phone and after speaking to several different staff members, I was informed that the store did not have the items and was never going to get them. Although I paid for these items, I was informed by management that the person that served me shouldn't have sold them to me in the first place. I did at least get my money refunded - but of course there is no compensation for the hours upon hours of wasted time and hassle. Avoid this Lowes like the plague. read more

I reviewed Lowe's Garden center online and decided to drive to 16 miles one way to their location in Gaithersburg to purchase plants. I was surprised at the poor quality of the plants due to lack of water and care. There were approximately four employees in the garden center all chatting with each other for the 15 minutes I was there and not one offered to help me as I heaved potting soil in my cart. Eventually, I was so frustrated that I went in search of the store manager. In that process people were not helpful and clearly did not want to be bother. Fortunately, a young employee Kamill approached me and asked how he could help me. He found a store manager and I was able to share my views. I left my cart full of material and left the store as I did not want to support such poor customer service. I will never shop there again read more
