I didn't know what to expect from the name, but this bar is beautiful inside. Very nicely decorated and much larger than I had expected. We just had a drink but they have a nice long bar as well as tables in the dining room. They have darts at the far end of the space and a couple pool tables. They have a great craft beer list and full liquor bar. Friendly service. They have special events that are posted on their Facebook page. Open late Friday and Saturday nights, definitely worth a visit. read more

As I made my rounds in Tampa at the various breweries there was one common place that the beertender and brewers consistently recommended for a night out in Ybor City, Dirty Shame. And here's why: They have a great selection of craft beer on draft, bottles, wine and spirits. Whoever is picking what they put on draft knows beer, because there were a great selection of local beers. The venue is a good size with a lounge area toward the from, the long bar to the right, two pool tables, 3 dart boards in the back and a juke box. They also have a few TVs throughout which when I was there on Saturday night was playing the power rangers. Since they have a Jukebox, you can play your own music. The jukebox though defaults to rock which is probably most played here. Still though because of this the music was eclectic, including someone who played Herbie Hancock. They have an outside area which I passed by on the way in, but didn't go out to check out. The patrons were great, in part because they had someone at the front checking IDs. But also because this is a bar for craft beer enthusiasts and it showed. The service was exceptional. You have to walk to the bar to get service and the two people who were working were very attentive. If you are in Ybor City, you like craft beer and bar games, I highly recommend Dirty Shame. read more

I read great reviews about this establishment on yelp, and then I met Karen, the hottie with the turquoise hair, she is an absolute pleasure. I will 100% come again because her service was impeccable. Her drinks were spot on and she interacts with customers in the best way, friendly, but not overbearing, she just seems like a lovely person. The bar itself is beautiful. I love the layout, the bathrooms are super clean , 2 pool tables, a jukebox and dartboards and shuffle board. Love this place. Will definitely be back!!!! read more

Experience went downhill after the power tripping bouncer and/or manager allowed entry to a vaguely Näzi dressed píss baby who then had us kicked out because we "made him uncomfortable" for asking about his 1940s European military uniform and helmet. This Ybor bar is open 7 days per week-- Mon thru Fri (5 PM - 3 AM); Sat (2 PM - 3 AM); & Sun (6 PM to 12 AM). With its beer list & down-to-earth vibe, it caters to no particular group. Offered are extensive brews (approx 22 beers on tap & 28 bottles), liquor, wine, pool tables, darts, hand shuffleboard, & an patio area w/ seating between two old brick buildings. Even if you don't drink, just coming here to sit on the patio & people watch the nightlife stroll by on foot, bikes, motorcycles, & in cars is worth the stop. The crowd in Ybor is eclectically FUN, although the fashion is atrocious. Last night Ybor time-warped back to the 70's w/ its leopard, crushed velvet, cleavage, & heels. Lol-- I wouldn't have missed it for the world! Although there is a separate bar on the open-air patio, it's not always staffed, & even though this place advertises live entertainment, we haven't seen it (or heard it:) even once in the last three years. Regardless, The Dirty Shame is a cool place to relax & talk w/ friends. The surround sound tunes playing last night were excellent-- a mix of classic rock, funk, 80's, & alternative. LOVE the interior w/ its old brick walls & hardwoods throughout. There are couches, tables, & bar stools within; two single bathroom stalls at the back; & additional stalls outside. The "girthy" bouncer @ the entrance is friendly, but may overstep w/ his talk of politics, especially if you're there to unwind & escape the ills of real life. Will continue to stop in whenever in Ybor w/ friends. Lots of respect for the owners who managed to open during the height of Covid restrictions by selling ham & cheese sandwiches in order to meet local standards for reopening. read more

Centro Ybor, I barely know you but I like what I've seen so far, including The Dirty Shame. Great open atmosphere and an extensive on-tap brew list, including Coppertail Free Dive, a local and personal favorite. Pool tables and multiple dart boards for gaming competitions whilst you stay hydrated. Pool costs $1.50/game, which was reasonable. Bar is open late on weekends (3am), so the party keeps going. Plenty to walk to and experience around here so even if this is your 1-drink stop it's worth it. read more

My favorite stop in Ybor City! I was looking for a chill spot to have some brews without being trampled by the club goers down the block. I walked up and down the strip and decided to go back here because of the low key vibe. There's 2 pool tables, a shuffleboard, and some dartboards for your entertainment. I was thrilled to see an ashtray as soon as I walked in because nothing is better than a beer and a cigarette together in unison. I went with my Kari's choice which was the Cream Ale with a shot of blueberry vodka inside. I was very pleasantly surprised! Everyone here was super cool & it has enough space to host a good amount of people without giving up the intimate feeling that it's known for. If I lived nearby, I would coin this spot as my go-to spot. You literally can't go wrong here & it's open later than most spots so run on over and have a beer on me. read more

This bar is like a home to me! It's my favorite local watering hole. They have nice pool tables and free pool on Monday's. A great sound system that's not to loud. The owner and staff are are fantastic! There isn't one girl or guy that works here that's not an amazing person! They are all also motorcycle enthusiasts so if you like bikes, they know a lot. There's a bar outside and a patio courtyard that they have cookouts at sometimes. The prices are right, the people are nice and this feels like my own personal 'Cheers'. I just read some other reviews that were badmouthing this place saying its misogynistic and that's just not true. Just ask the woman that work here. Sounds like those people might have their own problems. Not one person here would tolerate hate. Anyway, check out the Shame. You'll love it. Play some darts have a beer and relax. Get the hell out of here! Am I the first to testify about this homage to drunken bikers, hot chicks, and strong drinks? Is there actually an illuminati trying to suppress the knowledge of such a refuge for wayward souls at the edge of Ybor City? If so, I am screwed due to my current crush on this bar and its patrons. Let's begin by saying that when you walk through the door that you know immediately that your life will be changed for at least this one night. Couches are arranged to the left of the entrance and will most likely be inhabited by drunken 20somethings with nothing but time and money to burn. And one of them might be passed out for a long period of time which the staff politely ignores. The room is tall, dark, and soaked with the sweaty inebriated souls of those who have gone before. The bartender is cute and despite the sexual innuendos thrown her way by the locals, she does not suffer fools gladly. Once settled into your little corner of the bar and with drink in hand, your night can begin to unfold. The soundtrack to your evening is supplied by a jukebox that pumps out everything from the Stones "Gimme Shelter" to Lady Fucking Gaga. Nothing is out of bounds here. And while every other place down this strip of youth and liquor is poised at trying to sell you something, be it an image or a promise of a good time, The Shame sits back and lets you come to it like a confident woman. You can try your hand at the various watering holes down the street, but when it comes down to drinking and nightlife one can do no better than to penetrate the atmosphere that surrounds The Shame. Pool tables and dart boards. Not the digital dartboards, real fucking dart boards. The street cred is there. The people who know better stream in and out of the door, looking and finding a haven from life and pain with a friendly hello and what will you have type of therapy. No one leaves The Shame worse for wear, all come out a bit wiser and more inebriated than when they came, and in the end is that not what it is all about? We had no idea this place was even here. Been to Ybor many times but today we decided to 'keep walking' and we stumbled across this place. We were not sure if they were open because it looks pretty barren on the outside. The door was partially open though so we popped over and checked it out. The bartender immediately greeted us and we placed out order. They were out of the IPA but she offered a different one they just tapped so I went with that one. We moved on to their decent whisky selection and also a gin concoction she whipped up for me. It was fantastic. We were there on Derby day and the tv was on. Several of the patrons stopped what they were doing to watch. All very nice and courteous to everyone else already in the bar. The place is a huge old building. We looked around for quite awhile to take it all in. The bathrooms did the trick and were pretty clean. The occasional horrible writing on the walls. We will return. We loved it. The prices were fair. They are a biker friendly bar. We had no issues with anyone being rude or derogatory to me or my husband but sounds like some others have had some negative experiences with that here. Parking in the city lot behind is free on Saturday until 10 PM. It is free all day on Sunday. We had no idea until we went to move our car and the bartender told us this information. Good to know as no-one else had offered that information when we asked them. I would call this a local dive bar with a small amount of dive and a larger amount of comfortable. Excellent beer selection, and if you look a bit deeper you'll notice an impressive collection of higher proofs, older things, and good cocktail skills. It's a pub, but sans food -- loud sometimes, smokey sometimes, comfortable all the time. Pool tables are in good shape and taken care of, dart boards are intelligently placed. Fair warning: The staff are pro's, and douchebag hijinks that cross the line will be met with equal and opposing force, although the crowd looks like a good bit of self-policing takes place on its own. Love this place. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon late with my bro of 30 plus years. Yes we were the old dudes. The bar staff was superb and treated us like family. Great beer selection. While we got there while the band was setting up, the background music was excellent. We really enjoyed the hanging with the regulars. Best of all they had a shuffleboard there. Great bar. Drink selection is excellent with great ciders! Extremely dog friendly. The bouncer is great and brought our lab some water and love :) Smokey, but we are cool with that. Pool tables run a little high but they're nice and big. I like that it's on the edge of Ybor; we aren't really Ybor people until finding this bar. I keep fighting on whether to write this review or not. Decent bar, strong drinks equal good in my book. Good jukebox and I am uber picky. Rediculously smokey and the place was mostly empty. Door was open and zero ventilation. I could barely breathe. Then I stumbled upon a fantastic outside patio with lots of seats, full bar and a live band. Band outside was great and played a few good Clash tunes as well as some good surf punk originals. Why I had issues with the place... I came in to this thick smoke of a bar and was served my cocktail from a pregnant bartender about to pop. Like 8 months pregnant, holding her belly, about to pop. Just felt sleezy to me and the 15 people who came in with me. That poor kid who isn't even out yet is smoking about 4 packs a day. read more

Boasted as a cigar bar, this bar on the edge is exactly as it advertises. Craft beers from local breweries on tap. Not just any tap though. These are, as I learned, specially designed by the owner. Very unique and make the best pour. The bartenders, Kari and Josh are attentive and add to the environment. The mixed drinks are perfect and strong. They have quite a bit of high end whiskey and scotch so if you're feeling the need for something special, just ask what they have. They also have 2 pool tables, 4 metal tip dart boards and a shuffle board table. There is a jukebox that you can play any song you want. read more

This place is like a little oasis of chillness on 7th Street in Ybor City. It was our first night in Tampa and we hit the town early. We had already played some darts at a bar down the street, and had some dinner at a Greek Restaurant, when we wandered into The Dirty Shame. It's exactly my type of spot. It's a wide open space, with couches for chilling, bearded and friendly bartenders, four different Fullers brews on the long pull tap, 4 dart boards and 2 pool tables. We were able to play whatever we wanted. You can't beat that. I would totally chill here all the time if I lived in Tampa. The only demerit is for the juke box. They have one of those internet juke boxes that plays really bad music all the time that just didn't match the vibe of the place. We should have been listening to Creedence but instead it was crappy house music and other cheesy sounds. We tried to program some choice selections, but at $1/song we couldn't afford to control the beast all night. When we emerged from the bar 7th street had turned into a scene from Caligula so we just ran for the car. The vibe never got unchill in Dirty Shame though. So if you need a house of refuge from the Saturday Night sh$% show. Duck for cover up in here. read more

It's a Dirty Shame I don't live in Tampa so I can make this one of my regular bars! I like the dark divey feel of the place, two pool tables, darts, juke box and great staff. The drinks are a decent price and a decent pour, the staff get's to know what your drink of choice is and rolls with it! AWESOME! Ybor is not too fun. I thought this bar was decent. I went here with my friend and had an ok time. He predicted the girl sitting next to us would puke. Sure enough, she did. The shots were expensive though. If this is supposed to be a dive bar, I am supposed to be a grouper fish. Which, I am not. Dive bars do not charge $7 a shot. Dive bars are for poor people. A friend of mine and i were waiting for some friends to come out of this Place and we were let in just to wait and we were NOT expecting anything. I find a chair which wasnt occupied and their was a guy (bald) who started talking to me about how i needed to leave because he seen me outside and he wasnt going to serve me. I said i wasnt looking for service i was just waiting for my friends. I didnt want to wait alone on the street. He said he didn't care while calling me some real disrespectful curse words and i needed to get out. The whole time there were people all around seated. I got up and went towards my friends that were inside and he followed me still saying ugly words. When i told my friends what was going on he said they could stay i had to leave because he wasnt going to serve my kind. My friends started arguing with him and we all decided to leave as to not involve the police and make out night worse. This place might be a great place but they need to do a better screening of who they hire before they get hit with a law suit. Im so disgusted. read more

Despite the pirate themed bar down the street, this place actually looks the part without trying. Lots of old musky wood, dust on the shelves, bearded bartenders, rapscallions, etc. The staff was also very accommodating to me regarding out-of-towner requests like charging my phone behind the bar and whatnot. read more

This is my new go to place for Ybor nights. I can't stand the chaos of Ybor but I do enjoy a good laidback bar. One of the great things about this bar is you can still get the Ybor experience without the stress of idiots. I don't have to scream to talk to my friends, watch my back while hanging out or worrying about being ass to elbow with the person next to me. The outside bar is a great change from the loud bars surrounding it. If it's a cold night they even put a fire in the firepit for everyone to gather around! The bartenders are awesome, attentive and quite funny. I love the acerbic humor of some the patrons. By the time I left I felt like I had a new family. read more
