Just got off the phone with technician Sam who was sent to repair my furnace through American Home Shield who was VERY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL towards me. I had follow up questions about his service visit and diagnostic because what he submitted as the problem ("failure of capacity") to AHS did not seem to match what he told me the actual problem was in person, which was that the ducts were too small for the size of the furnace that we had replaced years ago. He told me during his visit that our furnace, which we had had replaced years ago, was too large for the house size and duct system that we have. That the solution, he told me during his visit, was either to replace the ducts or replace the furnace to a smaller one that would be more appropriately sized to the ducts that we have. But what he submitted to insurance in his report was 'failure of capacity' which is not covered by home warranty. I simply asked him to explain and help me understand how come the issue isn't one of a mismatched system or improper installation and he immediately became defensive, raising his voice at me and talking over me trying to intimidate me. And he still never gave a real answer as to why it was not those issues. He just kept trying to steam roll over me and telling me to take it up with the insurance company. TWICE I had to ask him to lower his voice and stop yelling at me. But he continued on anyway and then hung up on me at the end. Super professional. Even during his service visit he was very rude and dismissive to me and my brother. Especially when trying to learn/understand exactly what the problems were. He was very arrogant and multiple times threw around his 'over 10 years experience' when I brought up that a previous technician told us something different in regards to how old our furnace was. He needs to learn better people skills and not take personal offense to questions. People are allowed to ask questions. Anyway, I have yet to receive an actual copy of the diagnostic report from either this company or American Home Shield (the only way I only found out what the official diagnosis was was from talking to AHS). Sam also yelled at me when I asked if he could please email me a copy of the report saying it's not his responsibility- that AHS should send it, to call them. Which is funny because that's exactly what AHS told me about the service company- so it seems I'm just getting the run around from both companies at this point. And I'm just wasting my time and energy. Sam was the 4th technician we've had come out to our house about our furnace in the past 2 months. No one actually seems to want to really fix the root of the problem and it seems to me that the home warranty company and these service companies are both scammers, working in cahoots. They don't accurately diagnose problems so that the insurance companies get away with not fixing the actual problem and the service companies continue to get their business. Lesson learned. I will also be also writing a poor review and cancelling my membership with American Home shield. The only positive things I can say about this company was that they were on time for the job and the front desk lady on the phone was helpful. That's about it. read more

American home shield home warranty assigned this company for my AC was not blowing cold. The tech said the plastic caps were missing on the high and low lines caused the leak. $1005 bucks later for 8 lbs of freon, the AC no longer blows cold after 1 day. Another company will be coming out as they even said the tech was wrong about the plastics caps leaking as there is no way this was the issue and solution. read more

The technician came out for a 4th time after I wrote my review. This time he came into the house, partially dismantled the unit inside (was here for longer than 20 minutes), and concluded that a part in the mini split was most likely dead. He proceeded to tell us that he is not allowed to make this kind of repair and the manufacturer will need to get involved to determine if the part or the whole unit needs to be replaced. I can't help thinking that if the tech had taken the time to make a thorough diagnosis from the beginning, rather than rushing through as quickly as possible, we could've saved ourselves $60, 3 weeks worth of phone calls back and forth, 4 different service calls to the house, and instead could have focused on fixing the actual problem. read more

Wow! They should not be allowed to deal with humans!! This company was sent out by my home insurance. The guy showed up, did not introduce himself, and asked in what the problem was. I showed him where the unit is and he looked inside; he then told me that he has no idea about this unit and that I need to call my insurance company. Then he left. No help whatsoever!! This is some of the worst service ever. To the technician: if you hate your job, leave!! You're not being contracted. Be more helpful. Avoid this company at all cost!! read more

The technician was able to come and complete the service about 4 hours after our initial call. George was very professional and ended up fixing our unit in less than 1 hour. The problem ended up being a bad compressor, and he had it back up and running fast :) read more

If I could give a zero for customer service I would. Have called literally 5 times the last two days with zero pick ups, and no call backs to any voicemails. Have a case opened and can't get anyone to call me back to schedule. It's 93 degrees and I have no AC. read more

My air conditioning system broke down on one of the hottest days of last summer. I called every compamy listed on Yelp, but they were all busy and that's when loyal hand appliances happened to respond. They were at my house within 30 minutes. Knowing that they are the only company in the area that could service me that day, they didn't rip me off even though they could. I was desparate and was ready to pay a lot more to get my AC fixed. 2.5 stars. Just slightly better than "meh" and below "A-OK" but I'm rounding it up to 3 stars because ultimately he did his job although with extreme attitude. If you disregard his attitude and rudeness, 3 stars. He would do well to be a better, less hostile communicator. The company's scheduler, Sarah, was good though. Got appointment promptly at a convenient time. I won't go into details but basically my home warranty company AHS sent George out to me and I think much less of AHS now because of it. read more

Loyal Hand Appliances were GREAT! American Home Shield sent them out to me, the first company they sent were Total Rip-Off Artists...! They called me right away, came out, ordered everything they needed, returned in a timely manner and did a fantastic install of my new furnace. And they were 2/3 less of the price of the other company on my 'not covered charges'. Emanuel & Peter were polite, timely & cleaned everything up. I was referred to this company by American Home Shield. He looked for unimportant problems in my central AC system such as the fuse of 30A should be 40A. When it comes to fuse, it is ok to be smaller than specified but not larger. He looked for several more things and reported to AHS and they denied my claim. I had another AC company looked at my system and they said the reason the AC failed was not the reason that AHS denied it. AHS and this company are dishonest people in that they want to look for the smallest problem to your AC so they can denied your claim because replacing the central AC is very expensive. I'm switching the home warranted company. read more

I don't really care that the guy was not friendly... but this guy told me he could not explain to me why the AC wasn't working because I was not an electrician and I would not understand it. Through American Home Shield I was referred to this company. They sent a rude guy who spent 10 minutes telling me he has all the expertise in the world to fix my problem (exhausts hook up to the dryer needed to be cleaned) but because he is an "air-conditioning" guy now he cannot do it. He then tells me I need an appliance person as the issue is the dryer. I told the guy an appliance guy already proved to me the dryer was fine by disconnecting it from the exhaust on the wall. He still insisted I call an appliance guy. Later he tells me I need to call and tell them i need a person to clean the exhaust for the dryer. I guess I don't need the appliance guy anymore that he claimed was the issue to begin with. Unfortunately my issue is not solved and American Home Shield is now awaiting this guy's professional diagnosis write up! So now I get that guy telling American Home Shield what needs to be done next. My recommendation is to avoid this company. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. STAY AWAY. I would not recommend this company. They provided a time with a window of service, showed up an hour before the window of service began and left. They would not return when I called them and insisted that I was wrong. After speaking with our Home Warranty company, they confirmed I had the correct window of service and Loyal Hand Appl. Only giving them 1 star because they showed up on time. I found these guys through American Home Shield. My AC was not blowing properly, and when I peaked up in the attic, I noticed the duct work seemed to be in bad shape, like it had been deteriorating for some time, and finally had just given out. I sent Loyal Hand pictures prior to them coming out so they could see what the ducts looked like, and so I could avoid multiple visits like so many warranty companies are known for. Well the tech who did the service call (probably the owner of the company) came out and peaked up in the attic as well, and then continued to write an explanation that showed me he really didn't want to fix the problem and just wanted to collect his $100 service fee. He claimed the duct was smashed, which it wasn't. When I objected to this he told me it was partially smashed. Actually is was indented about 10%, which is really not very uncommon. So a little indentation became a smash, because on the written document he sent to American Home Shield, he just said SMASHED, not partially smashed, or just indented slightly. So of course, the insurance company wouldn't pay for that. He then, in the same explanation, claimed that air flow was normal. So how can you have it both ways? Normal airflow, not needed repair, but yet smashed. Anyway, I have had it with American Home Shield and with Loyal Hands. Stay clear of these guys. They want their $100 service fee for 10 minutes to tell the insurance company not to cover your claim. read more

I got this company through my home warranty insurance. They called first thing the next morning and scheduled for the following day. Emanuel showed up right on time. He even took his shoes off, since it was raining outside and he did not want to leave shoe prints on our carpet. After we explained the problem with the heater fan not stopping, he took his time to inspect different parts of the system thoroughly to pinpoint the source of the problem. Thank you guys!!! We have used them several times to service our a/c. We bought our fixer home last year, and the a/c was ancient. Last fall/summer, when our a/c died, we had to go through our home warranty at the time. The company initially assigned (a different one) was unable to come out for several days. It was like 100 degrees and a house with kids and pets... not ok. I called around and Loyal Hand was able to come out the next day. George was able to fix the a/c both times. Mind you, the unit was like 30/40 years old. It was on it's last life. Now just this week, our a/c finally gave out right before the heat wave. Unfortunately, our warranty expired since we've lived her over a year. I let George know. Thanks to Loyal Hand, they were able to give us a fair price. Just purchased a new home and have a Fidelity National Home Warranty. We figured we had blown a fuse on our AC, but not knowing our system well we figured we'd have a professional look at it. We called Fidelity's 24/7 phone number in the evening and they set us up with Loyal Hand Appliances. Before 8:30 AM we had a call from Loyal Hand and set an appointment for that morning. George came out, determined that it was the fuse, but then took the time to walk us through our system and to ensure that everything else was working properly.
