I had a system that needed leaks fixed in the AC, new ducts run, and balancing done throughout our house. 4 other contractors had told us that it was not possible to put the new ducts in place b/c the pitch of the roof. Rick came out and actually went into the tight fits to verify that they could install the ducts. He told me the price for all the work, and said his team would be out on Wednesday. They communicated with us throughout about the time they would show up and were true to their word. By Wednesday evening, Ernie and his team had accomplished what 4 other contractors told me was not possible. They actually improved on the initial design and ran 3 new ducts instead of the 2 we had discussed. They did not ask for any money until they finished the job the next day, and the price I paid was the price I was quoted.

When the service tech finished his assessment he stated that it would cost 12K-$15K to replace our entire system and stated that our heater unit was emitting carbon monoxide and for the safety our my family not to use the heater. He obviously didn't notice the carbon monoxide alarm located 7 feet away from the heater. Large quotes and fear tactics always make me want to get a second opinion. RC Air Systems was recommended to us by a friend who was very happy with the service and the price. Rick was very responsive and stated that the heater was fine and that he could replace just the compressor if that's all we wanted. He did explain that our 3 ton unit was a little under sized for our square footage but did not try to upsell us into anything that we didn't want or need. Since the compressor, furnace and coil were original to the house, we decided to replace them all and upgrade to a 4 ton system for a very reasonable price. The install was very quick and Rick's team really seemed to know what they were doing. Two years later the system still works great. On my recommendation, two of my friends also have used RC Air Systems.

Two women came out and they were at our house for awhile trying to figure out what the issue was. $300 later and some coolant they said the problem should be fixed, fast forward a few hours after they left and we were back to blowing hot air again. I called them to come back out and was told I needed to get ahold of another person. After given the run around and having a household with a toddler and a mother with MS we needed someone out ASAP. I called another company that came out and right away assessed a rat had eaten our panel. This is something Evolution should have caught but they didn't. I'm still waiting on a return call and also a refund......

Just got off the phone with technician Sam who was sent to repair my furnace through American Home…read moreShield who was VERY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL towards me. I had follow up questions about his service visit and diagnostic because what he submitted as the problem ("failure of capacity") to AHS did not seem to match what he told me the actual problem was in person, which was that the ducts were too small for the size of the furnace that we had replaced years ago. He told me during his visit that our furnace, which we had had replaced years ago, was too large for the house size and duct system that we have. That the solution, he told me during his visit, was either to replace the ducts or replace the furnace to a smaller one that would be more appropriately sized to the ducts that we have. But what he submitted to insurance in his report was 'failure of capacity' which is not covered by home warranty. I simply asked him to explain and help me understand how come the issue isn't one of a mismatched system or improper installation and he immediately became defensive, raising his voice at me and talking over me trying to intimidate me. And he still never gave a real answer as to why it was not those issues. He just kept trying to steam roll over me and telling me to take it up with the insurance company. TWICE I had to ask him to lower his voice and stop yelling at me. But he continued on anyway and then hung up on me at the end. Super professional. Even during his service visit he was very rude and dismissive to me and my brother. Especially when trying to learn/understand exactly what the problems were. He was very arrogant and multiple times threw around his 'over 10 years experience' when I brought up that a previous technician told us something different in regards to how old our furnace was. He needs to learn better people skills and not take personal offense to questions. People are allowed to ask questions. Anyway, I have yet to receive an actual copy of the diagnostic report from either this company or American Home Shield (the only way I only found out what the official diagnosis was was from talking to AHS). Sam also yelled at me when I asked if he could please email me a copy of the report saying it's not his responsibility- that AHS should send it, to call them. Which is funny because that's exactly what AHS told me about the service company- so it seems I'm just getting the run around from both companies at this point. And I'm just wasting my time and energy. Sam was the 4th technician we've had come out to our house about our furnace in the past 2 months. No one actually seems to want to really fix the root of the problem and it seems to me that the home warranty company and these service companies are both scammers, working in cahoots. They don't accurately diagnose problems so that the insurance companies get away with not fixing the actual problem and the service companies continue to get their business. Lesson learned. I will also be also writing a poor review and cancelling my membership with American Home shield. The only positive things I can say about this company was that they were on time for the job and the front desk lady on the phone was helpful. That's about it.

The tech…read moresaid the plastic caps were missing on the high and low lines caused the leak. $1005 bucks later for 8 lbs of freon, the AC no longer blows cold after 1 day. Another company will be coming out as they even said the tech was wrong about the plastics caps leaking as there is no way this was the issue and solution.
