I just want to be clear. LTS is fine if you want simple services but after 16 years with my 2 cars, my daughter's cars, they felt they had to charge me twice during a service, for looking for a problem. Once was not good enough though 2 shops told me they only charge for fixing a problem not looking for one. LTS could have replaced my water pump, thermostat, etc in an attempt to fix my car but no that concept was too much for Rob, I question whether Rob has a brain. I did consider something more serious in response only because I will remain flabbergasted for a lifetime over their treatment. Go there if you want. If being less expensive than the Dealer is the criteria or motive, note all other shops are cheaper than a dealer. read more

The best Toyota shop I've ever patronized. They are efficient and competitively priced. Each time I've come in with a check engine light or maintenance light on it has been diagnosed and fixed quickly. I also really appreciate that they don't try to upsell on things that are not essential and I've never once been pressured on any repair. My car has a slight leak in the water pump that a previous shop insisted needed an expensive replacement. When I took it here they said replacement is an option but they recommended monitoring it and not doing a repair unless/until it worsens because it is very minor at the moment. I will be a forever patron for as long as I drive a Toyota. read more

Great spot for servicing your Lexus or Toyota, using a certified Toyota mechanic in Boise, Idaho, LTS Motors is a service oriented, professional spot. We were in Boise on summer vacation, and we needed a tune up. Back home in Seattle, this can be expensive, since we often head to the dealer. LTS was a recommendation from my sister-in-law, who has used them for years, and always had great service experiences here. She found this place after getting tired of paying dealer service fees, and as someone who has suffered the same pain, I was pretty much in shock to get a bill that was about 1/3 the price we had last paid for a tune up at a local dealership in Seattle. I took a peek at the mechanics area, and I'm impressed with how immaculate the space is. Its really spotless. There is a waiting area, complete with sofa, tv, Keurig coffee maker and a kids play area. Highly recommended if you are ever in the inevitable world of auto repair, and are used to the professional and service oriented experience of getting your car maintenanced by the dealer, but DO NOT want to pay those exorbitant prices. If you own a Toyota, Lexus &/or a Scion, don't take your vehicles anywhere else but HERE!! These guys are the real deal. Extremely professional & courteous. I've owned my 1996 Toyota Tacoma for 18 years & plan on NEVER getting rid of her. Long story short, I went through some "hard times" & my Baby was neglected in the wake. I heard about LTS from a coworker & decided to try them out. I know my truck inside & out, too to bottom & know where EVERY single scratch, dent & ding has come from. When something doesn't sound right or she isn't running like normal, I know it. Being a woman, I've always been treated like I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to my truck. So of course, I was very reserved & went in with a "chip on my shoulder" due to past experiences. I was pleasantly surprised! They were nothing short of amazing! I gave them the list of things that I knew were wrong. They took my list & made me feel like I knew what I was talking about. They went through my truck (& my list) & wrote me up of an quote/estimate of everything that needed to be fixed &/or tuned up. I then took that same quote/estimate & called our local Toyota dealership, just to do my due diligence & my research. The dealerships quote/estimate was OVER $9K more than what LTS quoted/estimated for me. They were even able to offer me a loaner car for the week they had my truck. Called me with updates & progression of the work. Even when I called them to check up on my truck, (2-3 times a day) they NEVER sounded irritated or frustrated with me. If I could give you more than 5 stars, I would!! Thank you for treating me & my truck like you would your own family. I have & will continue to refer ANYONE & EVERYONE to LTS!! I think the guy who reported a bad experience did have a bad experience...his point was to shop around for major repairs. Well, sometimes things don't go right for the best of us. I have been Brian and Corey, etc for past 6 years and I have no complaints and have been happy with, grant it, service issues only......I do know this, the DEALER (aren't they dealers?) charged me right at $280 for a basic service where all they did is check out the car. ...no oil change, check this and check that.....no parts were used....Of course the loaner the dealer gave me, I paid for ultimately....right? Anyway LTS charged me about $76 for my next service. Hopefully LTS will keep everyone happy. read more

Get a second opinion before doing any major service at this place. Saw the review earlier on this day and was just discussing this place prior somewhere else, so I thought I'd throw in my experience here. My prior lifelong mechanic in L.A. focused on Asian cars, so I had a bias for seeking out a similar specialty shop and found these guys. However that mechanic charged labor via actual time where this place introduced me to the lovely world of book time. I self-diagnosed a problem and made an appointment to visit. It turns out what I thought was the issue wasn't the actual issue. I had other standard service done, but upon closely examining the receipt the labor charged didn't match up with the labor performed. Despite no work being done on the issue, I got charged for the labor time of it anyway, which was somewhere in the neighborhood of $120. Brian (nice guy, by the way) carefully and somewhat nervously explained the process of book time to a somewhat agitated person knowing I just paid $120 for a guy to tell me no work needed to be done. I thought maybe since this was my first visit, and that I had no idea what book time was, maybe he might cut me at least some degree of slack. Nope. You screwed up-- give us $120. And I don't recall it being particularly busy that day with cars waiting in line either. Lesson learned about booking time before a problem gets looked at, but perhaps he should've realized that taking full advantage of my mistake wasn't the best way to endear himself to a new customer. The year after I noticed some leakage. I hadn't needed service within that time, so I went back to them since this was the only place I had visited in town and my bias to visit a specialty shop remained intact. I ended up having leakage from multiple places-- valve cover gaskets, power steering rack, front differential, and transfer case. I got quotes to fix all of them and called my L.A. mechanic to run the quotes by him. He laughed. Heartily. And that laugh sealed the deal with me and LTS. If a mechanic in an area with a much higher cost of living is bashing the pricing here, then I know this isn't the place to go to. Comparing the receipts to the quote and the actual service, I saved in the vicinity of $620 by shopping around. Even the package service deals here seemed rather high. I would watch Brian discussing service with customers and he would kinda grimace as he revealed the prices. It made me want to chuckle, like he even knows what they charge is pretty steep. Wasn't sure whether to go with two or three stars but chose three because they didn't misdiagnose anything or ruin my vehicle or anything like that. No doubt they're a better option than ever going to a dealership (if I thought I was gouged here, imagine the pricing at a dealership). They're also within walking distance of a bus stop at Emerald/Five Mile that makes it handy if you're lacking a ride to pick up your vehicle. But I'm not coming back as I've found a transmission specialist and a service mechanic that I like and trust and are cheaper. I think getting a second opinion for major service is crucial anyway, but for this place it should be mandatory as I saved a good chunk of money by not coming here. read more

I took it back to them, price was fair and they went out of their way to fix something that was related but not part of the job without charging extra. I have used LTS in the past and have recommended it to my son for his Rav4. As a professional mechanic thirty years ago I usually do my own work, but I have my limits and time constraints. My Tacoma was at its service interval for a new timing belt and water pump so I called LTS. I would rather talk to a mechanic directly than a dealer's service advisor. I had no problems talking with a knowledgeable technician like Cory. He understood want I wanted and needed to have done. I even suggested replacing both upper and lower radiator hoses during my service. Cory said they would inspect the hoses but suggested leaving the factory hoses on unless they were swollen. He explained to me that the rubber Toyota uses in the hoses and lines makes them last long. Longer than I would expect, but what I take away from this is that I wasn't sold new hoses at my request--this saves me money and ensures my trust in the practices of LTS. read more
