A few months ago, I attended an event that provided cupcakes from the Cupcake Bug. The second that lemon blueberry cupcake hit my tongue I started looking on Google for ways to get more. I finally took the 45 minute trek to Ellington this past weekend in order to get my hands on more cupcakes. Unfortunately by the time I arrived, all the cupcakes were gone. So, I decided to settle on getting cinnamon rolls. After having 1 of the cinnamon rolls (I think there were 8 in total) I verbally apologized to the cinnamon rolls for believing that I had to "settle" for them. They. were. DELICIOUS. Words alone cannot fully explain how good they were. I was supposed to share them with friends but ended up eating them all. This is an absolute gem in the middle of Ellington. I would first like to mention the service. The staff is very warm and inviting. The pastry case is beautiful and filled with the most decadent baked goods. My favorite meal to eat here is the taco salad. The taco salad is not on the menu at all times but you can get the chicken fiesta salad which is basically the same thing with chicken instead of beef. Hands down some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. I called Luann's and explained my situation to Josh that I live out of the state and wanted them to deliver some goodies a friend of mine who loves their cinnamon buns and recently had surgery. Josh assisted me with my order and then personally delivered it. He even sent me an email right after he did. My friend was so happy for the homemade buns, quiche and Stromboli. Cutest little local place in Ellington. I was expecting just a bakery, but it is so much more. Orders are placed at the counter and then you seat yourself. I ordered some baked goods to go. I thought they were a little pricey...until I tasted them and they were worth every penny. I got the hillbilly cookies and raspberry sweet rolls to take to the office. There could not be more goodness crammed into the diminutive cookies, chocolate, oats, you name it. So the sweet rolls looked ordinary enough, until you cut into them. These are not just flavored with raspberry but FILLED with rich raspberry jam. One of my pet peeves with sweet rolls is wanting more frosting, not so with these incredible soft heavenly sweet rolls. Microwaved for 10 seconds and they tasted just like they were out of the oven. LouAnne's has quiches, scones, soups, multiple choices of coffees. I'm looking forward to go back and dining in. Amazing breakfast place. Love everything about it. The decor is amazing rustic chic with a touch of industrial flare. They sell coffee, pies, bread, cookies , muffins, quiches, cinnamon buns and cupcakes.... I'm sure I'm leaving something amazing out but you get the idea. The coffee is unreal and how they set up the coffee bar is user friendly and preferred to freeing up space and garage. There is a adorable kid corner where they can color chalk on a child size table top. There coloring books for them as well. Let's talk food my friend and myself got two different orders so we can give each other half of what we ordered. I got the maple breakfast sandwich and she got the fiesta wrap. Both were amazing and flavor city. Maple was smaller in portion and sweet but not overpowering it was so good. The fiesta was a mix of breakfast and lunch and bigger in portion. It was so delicious and I can see it being my go to order in the am visiting there. The fruit salad was fresh and my toddler loved the fruit selection and the kiddie corner. I went there a few weeks ago with my parents and my little one and we were pleasantly surprised at how quaint it is inside. Everything about the decor was perfect and thoughtful. I like that the staff wore cute ruffled aprons and I loved the cups hanging on the wall. It was not busy but there were a few people in the dining room. We sat by the fireplace and I kind of wished it was winter for a moment. We decided to order different things so we could sample each other's food but I found the portions to be rather small. The cinnamon roll was absolutely delicious but I was left wanting more. My father ordered the cinnamon toast and it too was delicious. My mother ate the strawberry cheesecake danish but it was literally a sliver of a bigger piece. I ordered the oatmeal to share with my little one and that was definitely big and I liked that. I asked for milk and cranberries and walnuts and a coffee. I never got my coffee and I had to go up to the front to ask where my milk was. I'm chucking that to miscommunication because I would come here again in a heartbeat. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because of the small portions. read more

Luann's is a great little bakery/cafe in Ellington. We stayed at an Air B&B just down the road and stopped in twice. Both times it was packed (a good sign) and both times the food was great. We really enjoyed eating here. The nNew England Farmer sandwich and chicken salad were both great. We also tried the taco soup. It was good but really felt more like a chili with corn. The cupcakes and cookies are also wonderful. We tried the cookies and cream and peanut butter cupcakes as well as monster cookies, all were fantastic. There are a few reviews that discuss price and amount of food. I would tend to agree that this place is a smidge higher priced than other bakery/cafe joints I have been to around the world; however, I am more concerned with quality and their quality was worth the price. Luann's bakery was accommodating from the very start for our wedding cupcakes and cake. The baker made sure to communicate with me via email, offering suggestions from her past experience. The cupcakes were a hit! I had initially thought I had ordered to many, but found that guests gobbled them up! They offered unique flavors like pina colada and mint chocolate chip. Some of them even looked like ice cream, my favorite treat! Our wedding cake was also perfect.The lemon raspberry layering with buttercream frosting was to die for! Luann's drive through has been a staple in my life since working from home during the pandemic. Love most of the salads and wraps. Pulled pork and Mac n Cheese always good. Only issue I continually have is their rewards program. It never seems to work properly and I eat there enough that I'd like to have a simple way to add and use points without guessing or putting in a lot of work in. The app they use for points isn't user friendly, even the employees couldn't figure it out for me. I had it working for a few weeks, then it just stopped working. My only complaint. read more

I ordered a lavender latte and avocado/tomatoes toast, delicious!!! The coffee was a little sweet, I didn't ask for sugar but it might have just been the oat milk. We booked Luann's as our venue for my son's Wedding Rehearsal Dinner. We were a party of 30 including 6 children under the age of 8. It was perfect and allowed the kids to be kids. This is such a sweet place to grab a breakfast and coffee with a friend and enjoy the view. The only thing I don't like is the acoustics - it gets really loud in there.
