I have been a frequent customer to the Luce line lodge over the last 15 years and in the recent visits I have been making the service and food has been not great. Last night I placed an order to go and ordered wings and my mom ordered a club sandwich and asked for season sour cream with her waffle fries. We picked up the items right when they were ready and when we got home a few mins later I discovered that there was barely any Thai peanut sauce on my wings and they were incredibly dry!! My mom didn't receive her sour cream for her waffle fries so I decided to call and let them know. The person that answered the phone didn't apologize and said she can't refund the credit card that it was purchased. Her next solution was for us to drive back to get a side of sauce.....and then our food would be cold. She said she could give a gift card and I said I would pick it up the next day. When I went to the lodge today the gift card wasn't ready for pick up and Meghan only said to give a gift card for $7 and the wings were $13. I asked why the winds weren't fully refunded and the bartender said he couldn't do anything and wasn't helpful. He just said talk to Meghan which originally she never did her job and hold the gift card. The service has really gone down in the years and you can tell cause how few customers are there anymore. Some friends who live in Watertown suggested we have lunch here. I wasn't so sure about this place after reading some of the reviews, but we respected their experience an so we all dined her after attending an event at LuceLine Orchard. The wait staff was great...the burgers were not. For 17.00 the burger should be fantastic. The burger and fries were under done. I asked for medium cooked and the double patties were bright pink in the center. The table had onion rings and for 9.00 they were good. They were crispy and served with dipping sauce. I politely told the waitress the burgers were not done and she looked scared. I did not ask for her to take them back. Usually they come back to ask you if everything was all right but she did not. A person in our party asked a waitress for water but was ignored. They were busy but not that busy to not respond. There were no inquiries if we wanted dessert or anything else. Just dropped the check off. If the food was better, I might go back. This one goes to the bottom of my list as a go to restaurant. read more

We were at Luce Line in Watertown on 11.11.2024 around 6:00 sitting at the bar, 2nd floor was shut and the bottom was about 1/2 full. I ordered the potato skins which I have ordered before several times in the past and asked for extra cheese and crisp bacon, 37 min later I received them and my husband and I looked at each other the bartender asked if something was wrong and I lifted one on the potatoes up and split it in half they were so well done the cheese had dried up nor was there any cheese. I said they are way to done for me and the bartender stated she can remake them, but it would be another 45 min or so, I mentioned usually when it is a remake it is done right away, she said not here. Needless to say I didn't want to wait for another order. The bartender left and came back and said by the way the owner is in the kitchen and said my meal looked just fine, I said so he must be calling me a Lier the bartender walked away. When the bartender came back with our bill, she said I took the potato skins off of your order, I said well, I would hope so since they were bad and sent them back. Disappointing really wanted a reasonable level of kitchen quality but fell short. Wasn't expecting much other than solid basics but they seem to be benefactors of few other local competitors. Burger was an excellent example of mediocre. The home smoked prime rib?? Dry flavorless sliced as if it were pre packaged. I feel your only safe option is fried appetizers. The au jus with the prime rib had an off taste and sure enough got super sick that night and all I could taste was that guilty au jus... the bar is fine. Will go back 1 more time as see if the wings or some other options are fresh, have some quality but when the bar burger is fail well what are the chances.... read more

We had a nice Saturday lunch here. The waitstaff was friendly, prompt. We got our food in a timely manner. I had a chicken wrap with the homemade tater tots. It was good. Husband had the taco salad, which he liked. Another person on our party ordered a burger, pink. He did get a pink burger and enjoyed it. Last person also had a wrap and enjoyed that. This place has a fun vibe and friendly staff. The eats were solid bar food. We had wings, waffle fries, chili, a bacon cheese burger, and the walleye bites appetizer. The walleye was a bit over fried, but otherwise everything was good. The wings were the standout and they happen to be the Wednesday special - 50 cents each. read more

Waited for over an hour for our food. Ultimately had to leave because we had other obligations. Server didn't acknowledge our long wait and the bartender ultimately helped us out. We suspect our order was never put in in spite of us asking. read more

My family went there on mother's day, and the food was great, but we were there for over 2 and a half hours. My sister in law got chicken strips, and they were very over cooked. They offered to remake them, and she didn't even get them until we were about to leave. They were just as overcooked as the 1st time. She didn't even get to enjoy her meal on mother's day. The waitress was very nice, but each time asked for something, she took at minimum 15 minutes to get what we needed. At one point, my mother in law wanted to order a drink, and she stopped and almost had an attitude when she turned around and said "what do you need?" At the end, a different waitress brought us our bill, and just set it on the table. We had to wait another 20 minutes just to tell them that we wanted to split the bill. We have been going to Luce Line Lodge for almost a year now. The service had been going down hill every since. They are at the point now to refuse service. I know times are tough but this is ridiculous. Luckily we found the competitor was able to take out to go order. We will not be spending another dollar at this place. Went there yesterday for my birthday meal, and if you live in this area you know the choices are kind of limited. I am happy to say that this hasn't diminished the dining experience at the Luce Line Lodge. The Lodge is definitely a bar/grill type of place, but they do have an entree menu with some higher end dishes. I had the surf and turf, and my wife had the shrimp scampi. Both dishes were excellent and the steak was properly cooked. The bar food we saw come out of the kitchen also looked excellent. Perhaps the star of the night was our waitress though. She was attentive and got everything right. And they have a "loft" seating area that is cozy and a little quieter than the main seating area. We'll be back! read more

All aboard at the Luce Line Lodge! A beautiful rustic looking place that has history of the railroad all over. I ordered the Chicken Strip Sandwich and it was delicious. They also have a good amount of drinks and wine available. Great place for families to come and enjoy a nice meal together. There is on street parking available but there is a big lot across the street where you can park. read more

You lost a good customer today! I went with my girlfriend and daughter to have dinner and watch the Twins playoff game. The place was empty, I picked a table right in front of a big TV. After about 15 minutes the channel changed. I asked our server what happened. She said "Oh they wanted to watch the Gophers" Really? I'll never go there again! read more

Just dropped in today to watch a bit of the Vikings game. Only ordered the waffle fries but they were solid. The bartender, Megan, was extremely attentive and very friendly. Nice, long bar and plenty of table seating. Several televisions and a great sound system make it a great place to catch a game. Will definitely drop in again. read more

The waitstaff here is a always spot on. I have nothing but praise for the great service at the Lodge. The kitchen also does a great job getting tasty food out on the fly. Great job guys and gals! My only complaint is that the menu never changes, maybe two times in 13 years. King House in Delano has some fantastic and creative food at a similar price point. I'm in no way affiliated with them. I just wish Luce Line could maybe change things up a bit and I would go there more. We're not all burger/wrap/chicken wing people in Watertown. We would appreciate a few more menu choices. read more

Called in a food order for pickup on Monday night 2/1/2021. The food was ready for pickup on time. But that was the only positive feed back I have. After arriving home I was VERY disappointed. Out of the four hamburgers ordered, two were very rare, one was fine but the 4th one was BURNT so badly that it was black and extremely hard to even bite it, had to throw it away. Ialso ordered a Ruben that tasted fine but within 30 minutes I experienced severe stomach pain and ended up spending the next 9 hours in the bathroom with what I would assume food poisoning. Pardon my French but what the hell is with these no hand wipes when I order wings. I'm the type of man that bases his reasoning off principle and that my friend is not right. Now the customer service was subpar at best. The waitress could have been more kind. She did not appreciate my compliments. All I got was a quick flip of the hair and a no to her phone number. My favorite restaurant! Great service and GREAT food. Start with the sausage platter. Smoked brats from Taylor meats (local meat market) served on a bed of kraut and a side of the best German potato salad I've ever had. I have been meaning to give Luce Line a review for a while but haven't gotten around to it until now. We are regular customers. We come in at least once a week with the kids, and this place is kid friendly. The service is stellar. There are no restaurants in the area that have service like Luce Line. We have experienced nearly all the wait staff, and about 98% of the wait staff is friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The food is top notch too. Everything from the Rachael to the French Dip, the burgers, chicken wings, pizza, and chili is great. They have a new salad bar now too, which was a great idea. This place is managed very well, and it shows! I can't say enough good things about this place. Oh, but be warned, this place is almost always packed after 6 p.m. read more

The worst service you could possible get. I ordered a coke and it was flat and wait over 15 minutes before I recieved a new one which was still flat. I order a club sandwhich with waffle fries it was the most disgusting thing ever. The bread was burned and the sandwhich contents were gross. The waitress (who is the "manager") never checked back with until about 20 minutes later. I told her about the sandwhich issues. She gave me my bill and left without offering anything. I waited for over 20 minutes to finally have another waitress tell me that she would check with the manager my orginal waitress. When this waitress came back she said that your meal is free and we dont want you to come back again. It should also be noted that two man whom I believe to be owners did nothing but drink continously. The first time I ate here it was excellent. I had the southwest steak bites appetizer. They were perfectly cooked and overall delicious. Unfortunately that would be the best experience I would have at this restaurant. We live in town a decided to patronize our local establishment again. We ordered the walleye fingers which were very fishy, not appetizing and also came with a few burnt fry pieces mixed in, which is not ok. One Sunday we came for the Bloody Mary bar which was basically a watered down pitcher of Bloody Mary mix with some nasty rail vodka mixed in. I had to go to the bar and ask for some tomato juice to make it somewhat palletable and even then it was still disappointing. The only thing that is worth going there for is the Monday $3 burger special which are usually pretty good. But seriously, anyone can make a frozen burger. This place has the potential to be great but due to the current ownership and management that just isn't going to happen. If anything it's gotten worse. It makes me sad to see someone given a great opportunity to own a restaurant and squander it by not paying attention to details that can make or break an establishment. read more
