The first…read moreone was a used/pre-owned 2025 CX-30 in Jet Black Mica with Sport Select (that had less than 31K miles at the time of purchase and was still covered under Mazda 36K-mile manufacture warrantee). The second one was a brand new 2026 CX-30 in Soul Red Crystal Metallic with Preferred Package. I traded the used 2025 CX-30 for the new 2026 CX-30 as I changed my mind about the color. Soul Red Crystal Metallic is always my favorite color from Mazda, compared to so many shades of red from other brands. To me, Mazda Soul Red is the perfect red shade of all time. Prior to trading in my 2025 CX-30 Sport Select, I scheduled an appointment with Marin Mazda Service Department regarding some concerns that I had with that car. Daniel from Service Department assisted me with knowledge, courtesy, timely manner and sincerity. He was able to help me fix those concerns at no cost to me, during my stressful moving time, while the technicians from a different Mazda dealership that is closer to my new location, were not able to provide me with the fixing solutions after I paid them for their labor invoice. I will bring my new car back for services with Daniel and his team in a near future. Did I also mention that Marin Mazda Part Department was also helpful and fast? They helped me place an order for a small accessory part that is not available in the US and could only be ordered from Canada. I will pick it up in few days. I wanted to take advantage of Mazda's one of the biggest time for promotions. It was around Memorial Day weekend (low financial interest rate with flexible pay plans, veteran appreciation, loyalty promo...) so I decided to upgrade my previous Mazda to a brand new one since I now appreciate the CX-30 with AWD feature more than my Mazda3 in the past that had 2 FWD. AWD offers better control and performance under wet road condition. The CX-30 is also a little "higher" than the Mazda3 and still maintains an aesthetical sporty look. Nick, one of the new sale associates at Marin Mazda had helped me before with the search and he presented me with the color choices and package options tailoring to what I wanted in a short period of time. Nick is young, very relatable, sweet and studious. He has a curious mind of a quick learner/researcher and I guess, he is also tech savvy (lucky for me that I had Nick, as I am terrible maneuvering apps and new techs...). I liked working with Nick right away as I knew that I would be in good hand. I returned to Marin Mazda on Sunday 5/24 to trade in my used CX-30 for the new CX-30 Preferred Package in Soul Red! The transaction went well to my high satisfaction in price and procedure. I got a fair price for the traded car and a fair price for the new car out of the door. A lot of customers already mentioned Ryan Hughes in their reviews with great gratitude. Ryan is Mazda Ambassador and one of the star sale managers at Marin Mazda. I don't need to praise about him here. All I can say is this: Marin Mazda is lucky to have him on board! And there I met with Nick and Ahmed again. Ahmed is one of the financial account managers whom helped me with the 2025 CX-30. Ahmed is very energetic, super fast and passionate about what he is doing. I also got introduced to meet with Rami (I hope I did not spell his name wrong). Rami is a senior sale manager there, whom I found very polite, professional, understanding and empathetic. Overall, I highly recommend Marin Mazda, based on my own experiences with the team from multiple departments.

To make sure everything was still on track, we called again about 30 minutes before arriving. Crystal assured us that everything was good to go and that she would show us the vehicle when we got there. When we arrived, we called and texted Crystal several times, but she never answered. Instead, we were helped by Alvaro, who said he would go get the keys. A few minutes later, he returned and told us the car had been sold just 30 minutes earlier--while we were driving there. When we asked how that could happen after we had confirmed our appointment shortly before arriving, he simply said it had been sold to an out-of-state buyer. What makes this even more frustrating is that the vehicle is still listed on their website and other online listings. Even more concerning, the same day we called to schedule our appointment, the asking price on the vehicle increased by $10,000 immediately after our conversation. After reading previous reviews, I wanted to give this dealership the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, our experience was nearly identical to many of the negative reviews others have shared. Driving five hours round trip only to find out the vehicle was no longer available--and receiving virtually no communication or apology--is unacceptable.

From the moment I walked in, it was difficult to get anyone's attention. Once I was able to speak with a salesperson, I never felt like I was being engaged as a serious customer. As a younger buyer, I got the impression that assumptions were being made about why I was there before anyone had taken the time to ask. The most frustrating part was the feeling that I had to prove myself before I could have a serious conversation about purchasing a car. Rather than being treated as a potential customer from the start, I felt like I first had to convince the salesperson that I belonged there and that my interest was genuine. I wasn't even looking for a test drive, yet several comments gave me the impression that I was being viewed as someone looking for a free test drive rather than someone interested in learning about the cars. Whether that was the intended meaning or not, that was how it was received. One interaction in particular stood out to me. During parts of the walkthrough, inventory was being scrolled through with little explanation, and I found myself having to stop and ask about specific cars because information wasn't being volunteered. I walked into a Porsche dealership wanting to learn about Porsches and left knowing almost nothing more than when I arrived. None of the individual interactions were dramatic on their own. The issue was the cumulative effect of the comments, the assumptions, and the overall tone of the experience. I walked in excited to learn more about the Porsche brand and left feeling like I had to earn the right to be taken seriously. The cars themselves were fantastic. For over a year, we repeatedly brought our Kia to this dealership because we were experiencing a concerning jerking motion when stopping, as well as instances where the car would completely lose power when pressing the accelerator. Each time, we were told there was nothing wrong because the service department could not recreate the issue. After continuing to insist that something was not right, I finally took the car to another Kia dealership. They immediately identified the problem: the transmission needed to be replaced. Adrian in the service department repeatedly dismissed my husband's concerns and his insistence that something was wrong. After more than a year of bringing the vehicle in and being told there was no issue, all we received was a "sorry" and a response along the lines of, "We never had issues with it." This is the vehicle I use to transport my young child, which makes this experience particularly upsetting. I am incredibly thankful that nothing more serious happened while she was in the car. Thankfully, the full transmission replacement was covered under warranty, but that does not change how disappointed we are with the way our concerns were handled. We trusted this dealership with our vehicle and repeatedly raised concerns about a potentially serious safety issue, only to have those concerns dismissed. We will not be returning to Kia Marin for future service, and based on our experience, I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle here if this is the level of service and attention you can expect afterward.

I finally went to a real mechanic "Stress-Free Auto Care." The mechanic went on a drive with me, and heard the noise. He said it was the wheels. He took the hubcaps off and we went on another drive. No noise. This is what I asked Marin Toyota to do, drive down a quiet street. The mechanic didn't do that. Routine services, I'll go to another Toyota, but never Marin Toyota, again. Their Service Department used to be so good that I drove from San Francisco just to have services with them. Attached is the invoice to prove I had to visit a mechanic outside of Toyota Marin to get an appropriate fix. This was an easy fix, which if the Toyota Marin mechanic performed a simple drive of the vehicle, would have figured out the same problem.
