My partner and I were able to go for a test drive by ourselves (Henry added a great scenic route to the car's navigation system). We noticed a small issue in the trunk. I would classify them more as dishonest responses. - Other issues we've brought up were either laziness or a lack of commitment to high standards of customer service There's a difference to us between communication issues and basic standards of customer service or empathy. We didn't want to resort to a public forum to do this (again, cue my lack of Yelp usage historically in general). But this appears to be the only way to generate any sort of response from you guys. Limited LITERALLY to what is publicly visible since you will not respond to direct messages following up. Courtney HAS reached out via direct message to you as per your Yelp response to reach out to you so that you can help remedy the situation or talk to us. You haven't responded to multiple direct messages over multiple days. The hubs and I have been without a car since April 2023. Four months later and we just could not decide which electric car we wanted. The hubs finally convinced me to check out the Polestar. Unfortunately, the closest dealership was in Marin. We decided to make the trek out there sometime in August. We arrived as soon as the dealership opened and were the first customers of the day. We were greeted with warmth, knowledge, and patience as we asked many many questions, requested for a test drive, and went over different options. My family and I were thankful that John Brewer was there every step of the way. As large purchases make me feel uneasy and not readily able to commit, John made sure not pressure us to make any decisions that day. As I continued to drag my feet, tired from the drive, hungry, and anxious that I was making a large financial commitment we decided to take a break and talk it over at the Restoration Hardware Restaurant conveniently located across from Polestar. After careful consideration (and a deal happening until the end of the month), we decided to pull the trigger and go for it. John was there every step of the way with car options. The customer service we received that day was amazing! At each step, John walked us through the process. What I loved about this experience is the free shipping. With other electric cars there is an associated fee if it is delivered to your home or the closest dealership. John was the guy who actually delivered the car to our home! Yes, he drove from Marin to Sacramento!!!! Talk about customer service. And he walked my husband through all the car things he needed to know and set up the car and our user names. The only concern I had during the time after we made a commitment was when John called letting us know that the car we committed to was the wrong version. At that point I was disappointed and felt like they were trying to pull one over on us. I honestly almost called the whole thing off. However, John was able to fix things on his end and we are now happy Polestar users :) The car: It's great! Its great not having to put expensive gas in the car. I was super scared to drive it at first, but with some practice I'm more comfortable with the one pedal not having to break business. My most favorite feature on the car is the 360 degree cameras. It's the best when parking. Charging the car at home has been a breeze as it takes a 120 regular vault plug. We have solar so I'm excited to use all the solar to charge the car. Overall, this experience has been great! We just received our plates and feel super official. I'm glad our first electric vehicle is with Polestar :) read more

Polestar Marin and its team, especially Kevin, has been great! We stopped in by chance one day and explored the cars. We scheduled a test drive for the following weekend, and boy we're we happy we did. We were greeted right away, asked if we had any questions, and started to explore the cars. Kevin answered all of our questions we threw at him. We went home and placed our order for our now 2023 Polestar 2 with an estimated delivery of November. Throughout the entire time, Kevin was just a text message away for questions about the car and/or process. On Dec 26, I bought a 2021 Polestar 2 "Certified Pre-owned" with 15,xxx miles. The car fax was clean, and Polestar Marin mentioned no issues other than it used to be a rental. When first seeing the car, it looked good. No obvious issues other than the normal wear from it being used. I take the car home, and a few days later I washed it and that's when I noticed sanding marks on the driver's door from previous body repair that was done poorly. There are small pores from improper repair. I brought it to their attention and was basically told it was my problem (not verbatim). I have asked for copies of their inspection and have yet to receive anything. They also said that they rely on the Carfax which seems to me like they either don't do good inspections on their "Certified" preowned cars or they do none and say well car fax says its good to go. I say all this to say, make sure you get a thorough inspection and don't trust that you are getting quality just because it says "Certified" preowned. Also, the car is scheduled to go in for warranty repair on front right suspension noise at polestar San Jose, and they are not willing to pick up the car for service. Polestar website says up to 150 miles pickup and delivery, but they will not honor that. I'm 60 +/- miles from polestar San Jose and they will only do 20miles. Not impressed with the Customer disservice. Update Jan 23, 2024 I spoke to Polestar Marin's General Manager Diana Kennedy after Diana reached out on my Google review. Not really sure why Dianna need me to call if the conversation was the same thing. Polestar Marin will not help correct the issue. I asked for a goodwill gesture by assisting in the repair but they will not help. BEWARE AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION when buying from Polestar and Polestar Marin. read more

As an update, I tried reaching out to Polestar to discuss my concerns (and followed up) but have yet to hear back. While I'm disappointed, at this point, I can't say I'm surprised as this dealership has repeatedly demonstrated that they only care about attracting new customers, and not keeping existing customers happy. It is incredibly unfortunate that I have to resort to blasting my concerns on a public forum to get their attention (I tried settling this directly/privately before my initial review) -- only to be offered lip service in return. Is disingenuousness representative of their "standards"? A car is a long term investment for many -- please be careful who you do business with. read more

We just had the best experience here! Michael helped us look at and test drive a Polestar 2. He was incredibly knowledgeable about everything from the technology to the design of the car. He was able to answer obscure questions that I had about the sunroof and various upgrades to the car. We were able to test drive it for as long as we wanted. They didn't give us a time limit which was nice because we were each able to take the route that they suggested. Michael suggested that we drive the car up into the hills of Marin to see how it handled. This was such a fun experience for us.The car turned out to be amazing and after sleeping on it for one night we ended up buying one! So excited to join the Polestar family! read more

The team there is amazing. I worked with John Brewer, who is a no-pressure, pleasant and helpful sales rep. He was always responsive to my questions and concerns. He worked hard to ensure my satisfaction. My experience was very positive. And this is in stark contrast to the San Jose location. Those folks were non-responsive and attempted to renegotiate a deal at the last minute. No one was available at the time of my appointment, they kept me there for two hours, and held on to the key of my trade-in until I demanded it back. I don't think I'll ever buy a car from a conventional dealer again. My husband and I took delivery of our new Polestar yesterday, and from start to finish it was the easiest and most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. I was considering four EVs. I scheduled a test drive with Polestar, and John was assigned as my sales guy. He was personable, answered all my questions, and followed up later to see if I had any more questions. When John was off, Stephen stepped in to help, so they do a good job of making sure someone is always available to answer questions. One consideration was whether the car would have enough back space for our 80 lb dog, so I brought him on the test drive and everyone was super accommodating about that. The following week, I scheduled a second test drive with my husband, who is less tech-forward than I am. John did a great job of talking to Rob about the car in a non-techy way. We were sold. In the past, I've arrived at a dealership armed with research on on local pricing from Edmunds and other sources, knowing I would still have to spend a couple of hours haggling for a fair price. This was a completely different experience. The price is the price--no haggling, no hidden fees, no aggressive upselling. I ordered online, and the price didn't change from order to delivery. And as we all know test driving an electric car will you make you instantly dislike your regular petrol car no matter how powerful and wonderful your chassis is. So why three stars ? These people are totally clueless about EVs. They are parking their sample car in one of three public EVGo spots. This makes the Tesla case, there are very few non Tesla chargers available, these people take up public spots to advertise their car, while limiting charger access. Maybe this is the pi brand they are trying to promote w an EV muscle car, that is slower than all Tesla's. Think twice if you want to charge anywhere but at home. read more

This is one of the worst car dealerships I have ever stepped foot in. From first glance everyone seems nice, professional and eager to help but you come quickly to find that is not the case. I have tried to work 2 separate transactions from this place neither being successful. The staff is always too busy to help, they are rude and do not care about customers. I come from a background in working in dealerships and have never experienced such poor customer service. Kirk Dahl was the first to taint both of my experiences here. The disrespect and attitude he gives even in his emails is astonishing. I then switched to working with Jorge, at first this felt like a great experience and that he cared but quickly found out he was like the rest of the staff at polestar Marin. They made it very clear that they did not want to sell me the car that I ordered and ended up disrespecting my partner as well. They ran out credit multiple times. They told us the only way we could get a car from them was to pay cash and that Volvo and polestar financing would not lease us the vehicle. (Someone with an 800 credit score) at this point it was clear they were not interested in selling us the car. We requested our $500 refundable deposit back and ended up leasing a $75k Volvo which showed us that they simply did not want to sell us a vehicle. It's now been a month and a half and I still have not received my $600 refundable deposit from them even after multiple attempts to reach out. If you are in the market for a polestar. Take the extra time and drive to the San Jose store, they are much kinder and willing to help. read more

We purchased a Polestar in July 2022 and got rid of it (at a significant loss) within 9 months. It was an over-priced, under-developed and disappointing experience. Some things to consider before throwing down: 1. Our car lost 50% of its value with only 10k miles. We asked Polestar Marin to buy it back and they told us point blank there is no re-sale market for used Polestars. So after paying $75k for the top trim, they offered us $38k. When we attempted to trade at other dealers who would call Polestar Marin to ask for a a value and it kept sinking lower. Ultimately we traded the car at a loss and it seemed true--no one wants a used Polestar. 2. Polestar promised a lot during the buying process (easy service, concierge if there are issues, etc). None of this came to fruition. When I scheduled an appointment at the Volvo service point in San Rafael to have multiple issues investigated, the service center was booking appoints ONE MONTH out and couldn't offer concierge service. I had to rent a car. Additionally, my car was at the service center for over one week and was returned dirty and not fully put back together. They agreed to credit me a signifiant amount in an apology. It wasn't the white glove service Polestar promises during the buying process. 3. Polestar's customer service is disorganized and unresponsive. When we call or emailed support, it would sometimes take days/weeks to receive a response. Often information is conflicting. Communication with Volvo financial services (Based in Mobile AL) was similarly disorganized and they have still yet to credit us for apparent over payment of the account claiming they "don't have records." They've requested we "fax" them a letter requesting a refund. I haven't seen a fax machine since 1996. 4. The car looks great, but unfortunately its internal systems felt rushed to market. The driver assistance features continually malfunctioned on the highway, I had the brake discs and rear parking brake replaced within three months because they were faulty, missed work multiple times because the charging schedule doesn't function, had to reset the tele-comm module on a daily basis. The power in the engine is great, the handling is like a dump truck. And the range that Polestar advertises is under absolute best conditions. We travel frequently long distance frequently to Northern CA and would drain the battery entirely traveling 165 miles. Think about that 256 mile range reduced to just 165 miles. When we expressed all our concern and frustration to Polestar they didn't respond. Stephen at Polestar Marin wasn't helpful. In the end, we lost a lot of money on this car. Check out the Polestar user forums before purchasing and purchase with caution. read more
