Marin Luxury Cars is fantastic! I wanted a Lotus since I was a kid and there was a very specific Emira I wanted. I had a deposit elsewhere, but it was going to be a 2026 build. Tariffs hit and I had to move fast (this might age very well/poorly). MLC had the exact spec I wanted. I called and worked with Jordan Howard who was awesome all the way through. He was extremely responsive over text/email, even at night, which helped a lot since I was booking airfare for the next day. He held the car for me so it wouldn't somehow get sold before I arrived. We did a test drive and he was super chill, just a cool guy who loves cars. He wasn't pushy in the least, just let me enjoy the drive. I look younger than my age so sometimes people don't treat me like a serious buyer at a place like this, but Jordan and MLC gave me a first class experience. Negotiations were easy because they're a set price dealership. They give you all the discounts up front and that's the price - one I was happy with. They also got me a financing rate 1.5% cheaper than my credit union was offering, which is huge. Most dealer really want to sell you a bunch of extended warranties etc which make the back end negotiations unpleasant, but Jordan simply offered, I declined the extras and we happily moved on, no hassle at all. They prepped the car for me very quickly so I could take it that day since I was planning to get PPF right away and drive it home to LA. Saved me a second flight. They even gave me a little model Lotus that matched my car! I collect these so it was a really nice touch. The whole experience was so positive one that'll I'll always remember and look fondly on. One Star - Deceptive Service Practices, Inflated Bills, and Poor Communication I have been a customer at Land Rover Marin for three service visits on my 2024 Range Rover Sport, and after my most recent experience I feel obligated to warn other owners. It started when I called about three warranty issues and a routine service. I was told my car required service every 10,000 miles -- which I later confirmed with Land Rover corporate is completely false. The actual manufacturer service interval is 22,000 miles or 2 years. The 10k visits they've been selling me at over $2,000 each are fluid top-offs and a system check -- not the major service they've been charging for. This is the third time I've paid for one of these unnecessary services. That's roughly $4,000 in potentially fraudulent upselling as I am at 30k miles now. I booked six weeks out to secure a loaner. When I arrived, the loaner I received was dirty, smelly, and required two days of airing out before it was usable. My car sat untouched for two days after drop-off despite the advance booking and after 10 days in their shop still isn't done. Mid-service, I was quoted $2,100 for rear brakes over the phone and approved the work. When I arrived to pick up my car -- 10 days after drop-off -- the brake charge had climbed to $2,800, and a $125 email discount I had been told would be honored never appeared on the bill. When I confronted the service rep, he immediately reduced $600 without hesitation -- as if he already knew the number was wrong. I still ended up paying $100 more than the original quote and the $125 discount wasn't honored. When I pushed back on the service intervals with the service manager -- who was extremely difficult to reach -- his justification was that the dealership has seen five engines fail on these vehicles and he personally has had to call customers to tell them Land Rover won't honor their warranty. This is a scare tactic. Land Rover corporate confirmed to me directly that warranty compliance requires the manufacturer's intervals, not an arbitrary dealership schedule. I still need to return to address two unresolved warranty issues, but after that I will not be back. I am actively considering filing complaints with the Bureau of Automotive Repair and the Better Business Bureau. Owners of newer Range Rover models: call Land Rover corporate and verify your actual service intervals before authorizing any work here. read more

I tried to make it work with these guys but what a mess. First off you should know they say they are a set price dealership. I would not have made the trip had they told me this. Despite this I gave them an offer and they refused. Called me the next day and accepted. But oh...I thought you were a set price dealership. They also said I would get free oil changes. At 1500miles I wanted an oil change. They booked me and kept the car for 24 hours. I went to pick it up and they said they didn't do it because it wasn't due. I'm pretty sure the owner of the car makes that decision. They also failed to communicate any of this to me. Then they attempted to make it right a said they would arrange for my car to be picked up in San Jose for anytime I want a future service. So today I had an appointment for it to be picked up at 0830. Nobody showed up. Somebody called at 0830 and ask for information but could not give me an eta. I called them at 0900 to find out nobody is on their way and they were still trying to find a way to pick up the car. I took time off of work for these attempted services. This is not a luxury dealership. It's a hot mess from sales to service. read more

I brought my car in for an appointment- annual service (from SF). Since I live in SF, I told the service agent that I would pick the my car the following morning at 8am. During the day, I received a request via text to install new brake pads - I declined via the text and told the service agent that I will have my local repair place manage this service - he acknowledged. The following morning I arrived at 8am to pick up the car. For approximately 20 mins, no one could find my car! Finally, they discovered the car was up on the rack being prepared for new brake pads! So, no authorization for the work, but the mechanic was moving forward to perform the work. I had to wait an additional 30 to 45 minutes for them to put the car back together. There was such a disconnect between the service agent and the mechanic (back shop) and the lack of preparedness to pick up my vehicle as promised, I do not recommend this company for any service. In addition, I was told that my car was washed and ready to go the afternoon before and that was not done as well - before they put the car up on the rack the following morning first thing service that was not authorized. It is unacceptable for a dealer's service department to provide such poor service for such routine service. read more

I have thought long and hard before posting this review but I believe their customers and future customers deserve to be warned. This review is long but worth the read to save you headaches and stress. The service department is completely dishonest, attempts to scam, and screen calls so you cannot get a hold of them. During covid 2/14/2021 I bought a range rover sport from this dealership and even paid a mark up which I had no problem with. My vehicle is always valet parked or garage kept and currently has 4,100 miles. Here is the situation: On 1/24/2023 my wife took our brand new 2022 land rover range rover sport in for a parking guidance fault issue. Our service advisor made up and attempted to scam my wife by telling us that the vehicle was scuffed or hit which knocked a sensor out of place. The service advisor WESLEY CARROL and service department purposely screen calls to ignore their customers. If I tried to call on block number it will go to a busy tone. They basically ignored me for 3 days until I told them I am coming to get my car and gave false updates of when I should be picking up my vehicle. So everyday that I was suppose to get my vehicle, I could not REACH anyone and received a generic text after RESCHEDULING multiple meetings over and over. Wesley finally claimed that the tech/mechanic fixed my vehicle which was FALSE. They pointed to a water mark which they claimed to have damaged the "sensor" which was false, tried to make it seem like the dealer did a "favor" for fixing it for free under warranty instead of charging us. I asked for pictures of the sensor being knocked and they couldn't to provide it, asked for some sort of CCTV recording of how my rear bumper got scratched which they did not provide. Only picture I received was his attempt to find a little spec which was a water mark that wiped off when I picked up my vehicle. If I did not step in to take care of this matter my wife would have been blamed and charged for a simple warranty claim. After taking my vehicle home I realized that my ENTIRE vehicle parking sensor, guidance, and rear traffic detection has not been fixed. I only went in for the rear detection fault but ended up having everything not work. My rear bumper got completely scratched from the tech/mechanic. See pictures below... This service dealership is dishonest, bills their corporate hours for fake "hours performed" on the vehicle, screens their customers calls, fails to provide any updates prior to fixing or attempting to fix the vehicle. I have pictures/ text messages, dishonest about what got replaced and tries to hide their mistakes while blaming the customer. If you're wondering how I know that the hours are B.S. I got 4 quotes from 4 different certified land rover mechanics just to prove my point. I am very fortunate I am educated in the electronic field & mechanical field. Their attempt to lie, damages done to my vehicle, and dishonesty to their "valued" customers is a serious problem for this dealership. Marin Luxury cars should be audited for all of their repairs, especially those under warranty since they bill corporate because the first work order are complete lies to what Wesley told me. The service manager asked to give them a second chance, which I did because the damages has been done so what more can they actually mess up? They eventually fixed the issue because the tech/mechanic was careless, & attempted to detail or buff my entire car to remove the scratches done to the rear but they are still visible. What rubbed me the wrong way is when the service manager said " I will give you the VIP treatment, we will get it right, blah blah blah" I believe ALL customers should be treated well and not have to go through something like this in order to get a "VIP treatment." I'm glad that I stood my ground and did not fall for Wesley B*ullsh*t. Regardless if a car is old or new customers should be treated with respect and honesty. My advice is to not service your vehicle here, if you do and WESLEY CARROLL is your service advisor you better get in your car and drive off. I promise your headache will multiply 100x trying to deal with him. Marin Luxury cars needs to learn how to have a better attitude towards their customers or their doors will shut. I used to think of integrity and luxury whenever I thought about Land Rover and Marin luxury cars. I used to be a proud client, appreciated and loved the high level service and care I received, so much so that I went and purchased two Land Rover discovery model vehicles from this location in the past four years. Unfortunately, there must have been some internal changes that have taken this from a luxury class experience and sales and service, down to a deplorable and uncomfortable experience, which has gotten so bad that I no longer want to keep my business here. There is one shining light left within this organization that I would like to speak of, however, and her name is Nancie. so many times we came in and were greeted like family by Nancie and her adorable service dog, Pennie! She is the service front of house, representative and receptionist, and I can say that her chair and professionalism truly created a luxury experience that made me proud to be a patron and a client here. When a consumer chooses where to put their money, we consider, all of these factors that end up becoming the total overall experience with a company. marine luxury cards is supposed to provide the customers with a luxury experience, and Nancy provided all of that. Her appearance, her warm, greetings, her professionalism, and her honesty, as well as helping with service that needed to happen or making good recommendations of how to handle insurance etc... across the board she is exemplary. we really felt like we were part of a family and had a luxury experience every time we needed to come in for repairs or service or annual check up on the cars. At this point, the general vibe and efficiency of the whole entire organization has declined so drastically that I would rather go to Carmax, then to step foot in there again! I was always promised warrantees, and to be taken care of an accommodated if there were problems that came up, and honestly, I was not taking care of at all EXCEPT BY NANCIE and a couple of other team members there in service. I now feel that all the lip service I got was commission motivated and The general vibe of the rest of the organization is commission hungry sales people who do not truly care about customers or safety or the integrity of the brand and the experience of the customer. in order to keep luxury experience for customers like myself and my family, you have to retain employees who exemplify that virtue and value. Value is not always about a dollar and I would rather pay more to be treated well and to be accommodated and to feel like I'm walking in somewhere with my family where people genuinely have a long-term vested interest in our experience and care/ if it wasn't for Nancie and a couple of the other individuals in the service team over there at Marin luxury cars, I would not have been comfortable to buy my second vehicle there and now seeing how things have declined I do not want to come in and buy another one. I recently went into inquire about trading in and buying a new one and I was received with so much rudeness. I can't even believe that I'm in the same place that I was for the past four years. I genuinely hope that corporate is reading this and I would like to be contacted to speak in detail about my experiences, but I cannot give enough high. I was desperately hunting for a really hard to get part for our new Defender literally all over the west coast and the south west US (darned global supply chain problems). I was having no luck, and though I initially was told by Jen S. at Marin Land Rover 's Parts dept that sadly they didn't have the part available, she still took the time to do a search and directing me to other LR dealerships that might have the part on hand. I was almost going to pick up the part in Texas (yes, I was that desperate, I was resigned to driving all the way out there!) when Jen S. called me back out of the blue. She had remembered that I had called about the part and dug through the call logs by hand to dig up my number. Jen let me know that she had the part available after someone else had cancelled their order. Now THAT's service!!! And we didn't even buy our Defender from Marin LR. I am so very impressed that Jen S. not only went to so much effort to help someone who was a new customer but someone who hadn't even bought their Land Rover from their dealership.
