I love this winery. The location is accessible and easy to find. Parking is free on the street. They also have plenty of wine varieties with reasonable price. The place is bright with friendly patron. What I like more is this place served as community hub, from speed dating, live music, game night, etc. A lot of events hold in this place. Stay tuned. Went to this winery for a little witchy craft fair and I was honestly blown away by how stinking cute this place is. The craft fair itself was great and everyone there was so nice, but the winery is what really got me. I already know I need to come back with friends. I've seen the Lucid Winery stand at the Midtown Farmer's Market so I have always wanted to see the actual location. I was told they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays, but yesterday for some reason they didn't have any live music, bummer. Otherwise Lucid is cool, it's very open and light. We actually had to go to the restroom to clean up our hands a few times. Also, a heads-up: the class was advertised with salmon, but we ended up using chicken instead. I've never had chicken sushi before, and it felt a little misleading. It would've been better if that was communicated upfront. But overall? I had an amazing time. The setting itself has a cool industrial warehouse vibe -- stacked barrels, high ceilings, working tanks -- but it still feels warm and inviting. Not stuffy, not overly polished. Just authentic. The wine shop was offering complimentary tastings, and the staff was genuinely helpful and friendly. No pressure, just thoughtful guidance. We tried their Red Blend, Barbera, and Cabernet. I heard about Lucid through a work colleague, and I'm so glad I stopped in today! This place has all kinds of entertainment; there was even a live band playing, which was awesome. They switch it up throughout the week too, so there's always something different going on. I tried the Wanderlust and it was so good. For my second drink, I went with the Apple Cider. Michael let us sample it with the cucumber sour (I think that's what it was), and wow--it was amazing. Super refreshing. If summer were a drink, this would be it. I wound up getting a mimosa; with pineapple juice, and my date got a hot tea, two drinks plus tip brought the total to $17. We got our drinks and sat down taking in the environment. After the first two sips I realized I didn't really care for the mimosa. The juice mixed in was not cold, the sparkling wine mixed in; though cold, seemed flat with little to no carbonation and overall the sparkling wine they used left an aftertaste I didn't care for. When we left we returned our glasses. I would up giving a more then half full drink back to the barista and was not asked if anything was wrong with the drink. We were visiting a friend in Sacramento and he was taking us on a walk around town. I mentioned a nice cold glass of wine sounded great, and we happened to be really close to Lucid! I had heard of Lucid before because their winery is featured on the Priority Wine Pass that we have, they are listed as doing 2-for-1 tastings. I walked in and asked if they still do that deal for passholders and they said yes! The inside has an industrial vibe, it is in an old warehouse with super high ceilings and exposed white brick walls. I love their decorations including lots of plants, string lights, and countless books. There is also a big wall of wine barrels that divides the space into the main tasting area and a back space for events. They have a very unique menu for a winery; it consists of Lucid Wines and Lucid Chaos, which are their drinks other than wine (ciders, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks). For tastings, you can choose between small (1.5oz pours) or large (3oz pours) of five drinks. You can choose your own wines, or you can do dealer's choice where they personalize your selection for you. We had Jerome working with us and he was awesome. He asked me some questions about what kind of drinks I like and even what some of my interests are. He then came out with a flight of 5 drinks that matched my taste and preferences perfectly! I got to try the Cucumber Sour (a twist on my fave cocktail--the amaretto sour), "Sauvy B" (sauvignon blanc), Urban Flora (rose wine), Butterbeer (HP inspired cocktail, almost like a port taste), and sangria. I loved all of the drinks I tried! They were all somewhat light, fruity, and flavorful. My husband did the dealer's choice tasting but let Jerome surprise him without providing any details about what drinks he usually likes. There were 2 out of the 5 that he wasn't a huge fan of, but he really enjoyed the other 3! He's a big red wine drinker and loved the Wanderlust red blend and The Sower tannat. He also enjoyed the "VinoChelada", it was a great summer drink with a Tajin rim. We ended up buying 2 bottles: my favorite (Urban Flora rose) and my husband's favorite (Wanderlust red blend). The wines were excellent, the staff were so friendly/helpful, and we had such a fun time hanging out here. It was a big plus that we were able to bring our baby too! Staff was not very important to and didn't have much of a pleasant attitude. We did an encounter any issues, but it just seemed like they weren't interested in creating a happy environment for a customers. The establishment itself left a lot to be desired was actually one of the most boring experiences I've ever had, but maybe it would've been different Had I come with more than just my husband. But honestly, I probably won't be back. I did not like the taste of their wines or the limited selections. We were advised to fill out the forms to decide which ones we wanted to taste. There was one that apparently was no longer available, and instead of asking me what I would like to replace it with the Bartender ticket of honor herself to select one for me and didn't let me know until she brought our tastings to us. In one visit, Lucid quickly became my favorite wine bar in Sacramento. We were already planning to visit a wine bar after brunch, and while perusing a farmers market we happened upon a Lucid booth. In a stroke of serendipity, they were offering half off of tastings and were located only a short walk from my sister's apartment. It is a surprisingly huge location with an extensive library and games for those who want something to do while tipsy. The bathrooms were impeccably clean and I loved the DIY charcuterie board option they have. It allows you to customize exactly what you want, the quantity you want it in, and has some rather affordable options. I picked out some mini brie bites, fig jam and kettle chips, but which served as great accoutrements to our flights. The service was amazing. The bartenders were exceptional. They asked both of us a series of questions and provided us with tastings that really fit both of our profiles. I'm a bit more traditional, so they brought me a red wine tasting and my sister, who is a more adventurous drinker, got a fully custom board that included butter beer and wine-helada, among other things. They were very attentive and informative. Everyone who greated our table was more than happy to explain the unique characteristics and aging processes of the drinks they provided. I really loved that all the bartenders engaged with every table, so it was a clear joint effort in providing a great experience. Love the aesthetics of this wine tasting room and event space with wine tanks and barrels. While I don't drink alcohol I came here because my daughter was one of the vendors scheduled on a Friday. Guests enjoyed wine and live music while shopping with local vendors. The owner was very friendly and explained to me and hubby the types of wine offered including a unique range of complex reds, delicious roses, orange-style and sparkling wines. He also has kombuchas and non-alcohol beverages. All wines are organic, vegan, and natural. What's also cool is that he contributes $1 to charity for every bottle sold. The staff provided excellent service to customers and also the vendors. There are bookshelves throughout the spacious tasting room. If they are not filled with wine for sale they are stacked with books... lots of books. This is a casual event space at a great location. Lucid Winery is next to Fox & Goose, and just a short walking distance to many restaurants, Ace of Spades and dessert shops including Salt & Straw and T% boba shop. Review #3081 read more
