You'll find Lucille's at the Tempe Marketplace. It was a ladies lunch day at Lucille's. This place usually has specials. Three of us ordered one of the specials offered. The special was chicken Caesar salad with a choice of four different desserts. The dessert we chose was a chocolate cake crumble with ice cream. Another order was the chicken bowl with mashed potatoes and veggies. And the last order was Brisket tacos with nachos. Delicious! The chicken in the salad was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. The chicken was so tender. You didn't need a knife to cut into it. The dessert was served warm with ice cream on top. We all asked for our ice cream to be on the side. The cake had some chocolate syrup on it. Oh my goodness, heaven sent! Lucille's is quite large and can accommodate big parties of people. You can take care of your bill through an electronic machine that sits on the table. Separate checks are welcomed if necessar. Let the server know in advance and they are happy to accommodate. Shared parking lot.

Walked inside a mini trip with my two friends and my dog - felt like I just got transported to the south - literally. I was so loud about it and nobody shamed me :) Our waitress was very nice and accommodated everything I asked about/for and obviously the food was literally everything I wanted AND more! Who wouldn't want $6 ribs with their entree that ALREADY includes dessert?!?!? I had no room so it's not in the picture but I got the special new midnight crumble! With ice cream to go!

Wanted to try a new place and BBQ sounded good. Lucille's looked like it had some character. I saw the mixed reviews and needed to form my own opinion. There's lot of character to this place, I liked that. The service was excellent! Definitely got points for that! The food was ok at best and the portions vs the price was waaaay off, it was comical. On a scale of 1 to 10, while the staff are amazing and extremely knowledgeable and friendly, there's much better options out there. I won't be back again.

My friends and I had Happy Hour/ Lunch here for 14 people. We made reservations and were seated in a back area it was perfect for us the set up, the room and our server was amazing taking great care of us all. We all enjoyed everything we had and will be back! The cracked out deviled eggs and the Okra were so delish I didn't need anything else and the pork belly burnt ends were fantastic!

Overall decent experience. Service was quick and attentive. The fried okra should probably be skipped but the fried chicken and mashed potatoes were very good.

I moved away from Tempe about 5 years ago and loved eating here. Was back in town and had to stop. With my wife and kids.Wow what happened. First the girl at the hostess stand couldn't have looked more miserable. Not a hi, not a welcome nothing. She just saw there was four of us and slowly grabbed four menus and waited for someone to walk us to the table. That guy didn't address us at all and just looked at us with a dead face and started walking toward some tables. He then stood between two empty tables and looked at us with a blank stare like we should know what one to sit in. We picked one. He dropped the menus on the table and walked away. I eat out a lot and have never had an experience like that. Everyone that we encountered there seemed miserable. Our server was pretty good and was helpful. Ok I am willing to trade bad service with awesome food!! But this was bad. This is a photo of my 9 0z $32 brisket. It's gray!! No smoke ring no bark it seriously tasted like they boiled it. Not tender at all, It was just bad. Not to mention it was barely warm. But even if it was heated up it wouldn't have been good. It actually looks better in the picture than real life. My wife said her ribs were ok but hardly warm. Best thing we tasted was the kids mac n cheese. I really hate writing this cause I used to love this place. if you are going to treat my family like crap at least give us good food. You don't get to do both.

Came for a private birthday party last Saturday. Everyone was very welcoming with the exception of our server. I think she was either a little bit tired or did not want to work a private party. The food was very good with the exception of the ribs. They just tasted very strong of pork and just not good quality like you normally do. The rest of the staff was very helpful and kind

Stopped in for a date night! My husband and I did the 3 course feast for two for $60 and it was the perfect amount of food! You got your choice of 3 meats (we did ribs, bbq half chicken, tri tip), 2 sides, An appetizer or two salads, biscuits with apple butter, and a dessert! I am not a huge BBQ lover so i mostly at the chicken, and it was the perfect balance of sweetness and smoky flavor. The biscuits with the apple butter were the star of the show for me!! Service was friendly and prompt, we were in and out in under an hour-- took our dessert to go to enjoy at home later.

I really liked how this place was a little bit away from the crowds at Tempe marketplace. There was parking right in front and they even let us bring our dog to sit in the indoor patio. There was a Wednesday special, whiskey drinks for $7 and their cocktails tasted delicious. I had my first whiskey smash and I'm obsessed. For my meal, I had hot honey salmon and rice and street corn. Gluten free friendly eats !

Tough, dry baby back ribs, running beans & running coleslaw. Looks so much better than it was.

Hubby & I had dinner here last night. We arrived at 5:20. We were greeted & seated right away. It's like going to your grandma, but when you get inside it's like being taken back in time. There is several old signs from back in the day and old hub caps. It took our server a few minutes to come to the table, but not too bad. We offered waters. Hubby ordered the michelada & I had the southern sangria. Hubby liked the michelada in the beginning, but there was so much ice that it got watered down so he only drank half of it. I didn't like my drink. All I could taste was the Jim Beam Black Bourbon. It took a long time to get our drinks. They didn't arrive until right before our meals. Hubby got the 2 meat plate with baby back ribs, pulled pork, beans & coleslaw. I got the 1/3 rack baby back ribs, Mac n cheese & corn pudding. The baby back ribs were tough & dry, no smoke ring & no taste of being smoked. The sauces on the table were all watered down. The beans were running, as well as the coleslaw. I didn't like the Mac n cheese. The noodles were too done & the cheese sauce tasted like cheese whiz. The biscuits were ok, but too crunchy on the outside and dry on the inside. The corn pudding was good. It's just like the sweet corn cake you used to get at Chi Chi's. We will not be back. At over $90 for 2 drinks & 2 plates, nothing good but 1 side, & no need to take leftovers, totally not worth it. While leaving we realized there was no smell of smokers.

It's been several years since we were last here. Some things haven't changed - the place is still busy and still smells heavenly. I was in the mood for southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. The veggies were fresh and I love mashed potatoes that still have some texture to them. Yum. I was surprised that they were boneless cutlets - still very good - I guess I assumed I would be getting pieces. The Hubbs was a little disappointed with the beef ribs - they were not very meaty. Everyone on our group was fond of their baked beans. The others had the St Louis ribs which looked fabulous. Our server was a little slow and we would have to remind him about requests. Overall a nice guy and helpful.

I hate doing this, but I have to update my review from 4 stars to 2 stars. My boyfriend and I haven't been to Lucille's in years and decided to try it out on a Monday night before a concert in Tempe. It was awful. I'm giving 2 stars because the service was good and our waiter was attentive. My boyfriend and I split the $60 meal for two and ordered each a drink. It was AWFUL. Everything we ate tasted like it was leftover from the weekend. The brisket? Pitiful and dried out. The bbq chicken, smothered in sauce so sweet it was inedible. The jalapeno/cheddar sausage, so greasy it slid around the plate. The fries, barely cooked. The Mac n cheese tasted like it was 2 days old. Even the banana pudding (one of my favorite desserts) wasn't very good. It didn't have that great banana cream and Nilla wafer texture like it should have. I am so bummed to write this, but this was an awful meal. They also sat my boyfriend and I in the far back corner in the hottest part of the restaurant and then a family of 8 right next to us with an entire restaurant that was open. It was an odd choice and didn't help the dining experience. Bummer Lucille's!

    Dale S.

I love Lucille's but the one near me in the Bay area closed down so I was excited to stop here. Unfortunately, I think this might be the reason they are going out of business. My photo shows over $40 worth of food and most of it was standard but I will say that the brisket queso was delicious. I love their fried green tomatoes but opted for something different this time. Still, even if I lived in the area, I would not come regularly because the cost is a bit high. That being said, I would still come occasionally for the more unique and flavorful dishes.

People come here for the meats: brisket, ribs, pulled pork, BUT!!! Have you had this GREEN CHILE BURRITO?! I beg you to try it if you have not... most people don't know they even have it, but luckily, for my coworker and I, Director of Operations Matt, walked up to us as we dined in last Wednesday and let us sample the Green Chile. As most of you know, I can't hang when it comes to spicy foods, but this chile is THE EXCEPTION (even though it's only "mildly" spicy). We each ordered the 2 meat plate, but we were so appreciative of the sample he gave us, otherwise we would never have known about it. We ended up ordering 2 burritos for our lunch the very next day!! You can also add cheese to it! I went in again for the 3rd day in a row on Friday, since I'm not sure when I'll work in that area again (I was 10 min away all last week)!! I asked my boss if I could work there on Mondays and Fridays, that's how good this burrito is!! They also have a MEAN Pecan Pie. It's called Bekke's Smoked Pecan Pie and it too, is a must try item! Matt told us it's a secret recipe from one of their employees and the crusts are hand pressed daily. Using a machine is just NOT the same, and I believe it! Since I am not sure when I'll make my way back there, I also bought another pie on Friday. So far, I've only had 1 slice because I need to ration accordingly! Prior to my 3 visits last week, I went to this location last July, when a friend was visiting from out of town. The place is clean and welcoming, and they have the best customer service! On Thursday and Friday when I ordered online and picked up, my orders were ready before the estimated pick up time! Mark was at the pick up window both times and he rocks!! I had forgotten to ask for the Banana Pudding I ordered on Wednesday when we dined in. I called as I drove home, realizing I left without it. Amanda was super friendly when she answered the phone and assured me I would have it when I came the next day. Mark delivered and had it in my bag the next day when I picked up our burritos. Service with a smile is what you'll get here! You cannot go wrong no matter what you order here! The meats are absolutely perfect and the flavor profile on everything is mind-blowing! Do yourself a favor and ask for the Green Chile anything next time you're here. Tell them I sent you! Don't sleep on the Banana Pudding or Bekke's Smoked Pecan Pie, either. Something about that smoking process makes the pie stand out from every other pecan pie you've ever tasted, trust me. It's also NOT super sweet like you're probably used to. If you call in, you can't place an order by phone, so do it online and you'll get a text with an estimated time of pick up. You can skip the line inside, too. Just walk up to the pick up window and you're good to go when you ring the little doorbell. There is plenty of parking outside and they even have a large patio space should you choose to dine outside. Thank you, Matt, Mark, Amanda and the rest of the crew at Little Miss BBS Sunnyslope for such a pleasant experience every single time!! I will be back for sure! Beans and potatoes salad is good but will admit , the potatoe salad is not my favorite. However this is my go to in the area for bbq so far.

As a vegetarian, I was happy to see plenty of sides to choose from, and they did not disappoint. The mac and cheese and potato salad were both solid (7/10), while the rice and beans stood out at an 8/10--smoky, flavorful, and really satisfying. I can only imagine how well everything would pair with their meats. The fries (on the house!) were perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. And the BBQ chipotle spicy sauce? Easily the highlight--rich BBQ flavor with a great kick of heat. Service was excellent--ask for Tom--and the ambiance was casual but lively. It was busy for a Friday evening, which says a lot for a spot that feels a bit hidden, yet is right in a prime Tempe location. Definitely worth checking out!

I ordered the burnt brisket ends (for which I had to pay an extra $2). I have had these at other barbq places and they are always extremely tender and delicious. These were not. THEY WERE TOUGH! I couldn't eat most of the pieces. I also ordered the rib tips. Also tough and no flavor. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN AND I SUGGEST TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO GO, FIND ANOTHER BAR-b-Q place. Not worth your time or money.

Wow! If you like bbq, you're going to love BobbyQ's!! Started out with a cocktail at the bar…read more Audrey was our bartender, as well as our server when we moved to a booth. Such a friendly and attentive young woman. We enjoyed chatting with her. Excellent bartender with great recommendations. I took her advice, and had the Prickly Pear Mule. Good flavor, and different than the ordinary mule. My husband had Makers Mark neat & a Dos Equis with a very cold glass. We moved to a booth, and ordered the smoked wings as an appetizer. They were outstanding! Served with carrots, celery, and 3 sauces on the side...buffalo, ranch, and bbq. It was such a generous serving , but we were determined to finish them. Next, we each ordered the 2 meat platter. I had St. Louis ribs with brisket, Mac and cheese, and the bbq beans. My husband ordered the baby back ribs, brisket, bbq beans, and pecan Cole slaw. We were both served a piece of cornbread which was so good. I also had a smoked Old Fashioned. The presentation was very well done! Finally, to top it off, Audrey brought a piece of chocolate with ice cream for my husband's birthday! The food was spectacular, and made us determined to return, possibly the next day for the fried fish! It's actually a 1 1/2 hour drive to get there, but well worth it! Renny, the manager, stopped by our table twice to make sure we were happy with everything. If you're a fan of bbq, check out BobbyQ! You won't be disappointed!!

Bobby-Q has become our go-to restaurant for bringing out-of-town visitors and family to dinner for a memorable night. In this case, we planned for 2 family members to visit us -- and three showed up. We had some excellent appetizers -- the nachos are worthy of being served at any restaurant. At the table, we had a variety of orders, including French Dip (3 of us had this); I had the two-meat barbecue (beef rib and chicken); my side dishes (corn, and beans) were very good. I have no idea what our fifth family member had, but they didn't say much until they had nothing to look at other than a clean plate. Our servers were superlative... attentive, genuinely nice people, good manners, and amicable. They got a nice tip. Outstanding evening, enjoyed by all of us.
