Chinatown is know for its great food and nightlife. Lucky Belly definitely earns its keep and holds its own amongst the best of them. On this particular visit, it was a Wednesday night, 9:35 when we walked in just before their closing time. We had just come from enjoying a night of good vibes, good drinks and good vinyl tunes at EP Bar. Upon entering we were greeted kindly and offered any seat in the dining room. Place was extremely clean and comfortable. Service came around with water and gave us a minute to look over the menus. He returned shortly and orders were placed. 15 to 20 minutes tops, the food came out. What we Order? - Crispy Duck Taco. 5/5 stars. Outstanding. For context I knowing that he's not much of a duck fan, had my son try them, but he LOVED them. "I'd totally order that again..." - Oxtail Dumpling. 5/5 stars. Savory - Lumpia 5/5 stars. Perfect fry. Wrap is crisp and light, fill is flavorful and delicious. - Bi Bim Bap 5/5. Overall, service is tops, prices are fair, every bit and bite of each plate was excellent. Such a gem in Chinatown. I always wonder why about the name of a restaurant. After dining at Lucky Belly, what a lucky belly indeed.
Feeling lucky... I do have many mental checks of places that I've love to check out and yes Lucky Belly is definitely one of them and the other lucky moment is that I was able to enjoy it with Terry K. Located on the corner of Smith and N Hotel Street it's a lovely spot just outside of Chinatown. Walking in I love the brick decor giving that downtown industrial vibe as the restaurant itself isn't that big but still gives you room between tables. Menu items is quite unique as I didn't expect to find Ramen here which I do see many come here to enjoy but decided to give the "Oriental Chicken Salad" as it comes with karaage chicken that got me very curious to try though before that we got the "Lamb Lumpia" which was a very flavorful bite as it has kimchi as well giving it the various asian flair. Let me tell you their salad can feed a party starting with over a dozen chicken karaage surrounding the rim of the bowl was brimming with salad so fresh and flavorful with a light sesame dressing...and no I couldn't finish it and you'll never know looking at my leftovers that I was just that lol! Service was very fast and efficient and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and with a bit of lucky find street parking is close for us to enjoy...lucky me! Thank you!
Celebrated early Christmas dinner with friends. We made reservation at 5pm. It was a busy night but all the servers were working very hard. Restaurant looks clean and neat. Food always good at Lucky Belly, I ordered the dishes as below:- 1. Pork Belly Bao - 10/10 2. Shrimp Gyoza - 10/10 3. Crispy Duck Taco - 10/10 4. Smoked Octopus- 7/10 5. Lobster Moco - 8/10 Don't miss this place, good food with great services.
Still wonderful, a fairly static menu same as last visit a year ago. There was a snapper special that looked amazing at the next table. Be sure to inquire about the pupu combo appetizer. Friendly service, only detractor was the unfortunate smell in the dining room. It smells like Chinatown IYKYK.
Guinness to Ramen Reset: The Chinatown Late-Night Move You Don't Want to Miss If you start your night with Guinness and Jameson for St. Patrick's Day, there's only one right move after in Hawaii, ramen. Lucky Belly delivered exactly what we needed and then some. We walked over to Lucky Belly and grabbed seats at the bar, which is the move. Watching the kitchen in action inside this restored Chinatown building adds to the whole experience, old bones, new energy, and a place that just feels alive. Cocktails were a perfect reset. The "Bean in the Box" Old Fashioned was smooth and refreshing, a great transition from beer to food. My wife had the Monkey King, well-crafted, though just a touch sweet for her taste. We started with the shrimp gyoza, crispy on the outside, fresh and flavorful inside, sitting on that edamame-avocado purée with ponzu that pulls it all together. Easily one of those dishes you wish you doubled up on. For ramen, she went with the Fungi Bowl, which had a deep, earthy flavor that really stood out, and I had the Belly Bowl, rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want after a night out. The broth had depth, the noodles were spot on, and every bite just worked. Pricing is what you'd expect for Chinatown, fair, approachable, and worth it for the quality you're getting. This place hits that perfect late-night balance, great food, strong drinks, and a vibe that makes you want to hang a little longer. If you're in town and need that post-drinks reset, this is it. We'll absolutely be back.
My favorite eats in Hawaii HANDS DOWN! To start off, the service was quick, we immediately got seated down once we walked in. A bit dark inside, but mysterious haha!!! We got the Monkey Cocktail, which was strong and yummy, you could really taste the pina colada puree. We ordered the special trio for the night which was Pork Belly Baos 2x , Lobster Shu Mai 2x and from what I remember Har Gow 2x. All VERY DELICIOUS. Next appetizer was DUCK TACOS! Warm crispy outer shell with meaty duck elevated with flavorful greens and drizzled with chili oil. Our main dish for the night was Kimchi ramen it had a jammy egg and so much flavor. Wow unbelievable. Best place in Honolulu, and to end off my trip with this place was the highlight of my vacation. Thank you to the staff for making this a great experience!
Checked out Lucky Belly again and it was even better than before. Our server Sterling(I think) was awesome, he kept coming by and checking on us. Parked in the public parking up the block, which made it easy. The food was awesome for the most part. The only negative I can mention was the whole Fried Tai Snapper was a little dry, but other than that, outstanding food. I had a few Nado beers which are always good, but one recommendation I have is to try the Smoked Yuzu Whiskey Sour. Tasty. Anyway, check them out when you're in Chinatown. Alooooooooha and happy eating.
Went to Lucky Belly in Chinatown and wow--this spot is a gem! My friends ordered the pork belly bao, crispy duck tacos, bi bim bap, and the miso-braised lamb leg. Everything looked INSANE, and they couldn't stop raving about the crispy duck tacos and pork belly bao (their top faves)! I have a ton of food allergies (gluten, dairy, soy, sesame, oats), so I didn't expect to be able to eat much--but I was blown away by how accommodating they were. The chef personally helped adjust the dish, and the waitress had amazing suggestions and made me feel taken care of. I ended up getting the bi bim bap with smoked octopus (yes, octopus!) and it was next level. The octopus had a perfect crunch on the outside, was tender on the inside, and seasoned beautifully. The bowl was big, satisfying, and absolutely delicious. Not many Asian fusion spots can work around my allergies, but Lucky Belly made me feel welcomed--not like a burden. Can't recommend this place enough for allergy-conscious foodies and flavor chasers alike. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for the great experience!
I made reservations for 4 of us on a Friday night. We shared the smoked octopus, fried snapper on a bed of edamame garlic fried rice - Thai style, oxtail dumplings, crispy duck tacos, and lobster shumai (which I did not eat). My favorite was the oxtail dumplings, while everyone else said it was a tie between that and the lobster shumai. We all were excited to eat the snapper, but it was a little dry and I couldn't taste the Thai spices. I still need to try the ramen one day. Guess I need to put it back on my list for places to try again.
Lucky Belly was such a cool spot! My husband and I decided to grab a few appetizers. We went with the wafu steak, shrimp gyoza, and the duck tacos. The duck tacos were definitely our favorite. They were so good that we even went back before our flight to get them one last time before leaving Hawai'i. My husband also tried the Bean' To Box, which is their twist on an old-fashioned. He also ordered the hibiscus lemonade, and I got the Jasmine lime soda -- both were super refreshing. The service was awesome, and the atmosphere was cozy and chill. Lucky Belly was definitely one of my favorite restaurants to eat in Hawai'i! I'm still thinking about those duck tacos as I write this review.
Food is hit or miss and the service is absolutely horrible. Witnessed multiple people have to stand up and beg to pay so they are no longer held hostage in this shit hole. Even if we wanted to order more food and drinks it would be impossible since the staff is non-existent. Also, a whole tray of dirty glasses was left on the next table for the over an hour we were stuck there. Clearly they give zero fucks about the customer here. Had the lamb shank and it was very underwhelming. Flavorless and bland. Pretty tender but could have been more fall apart. The only saving grace that is the reason this isn't 1 star was the scallop cone sushi. The bone marrow risotto inside was amazing and the only negative was the scallops being slightly overcooked inside.
This has become my brother in law's most proclaimed favorite! And it was an accidental find for us! We intended on going to a different restaurant around the block but they were closed. It's Chinatown, so parking is naturally a challenge. We quickly found this restaurant on Yelp and were seated right away. The tables were clean and seating was bench style. Ambiance was calming with moderate lighting. I did have to read the menu for hubs because of that but we enjoyed the calmer mood. The staff was very attentive the entire time. I guess I was too hungry to take photos! Eesh lol. BILs fave was the lamb lumpia. He is now OBSESSED with them! Every time we talk food, he brings them up again! LOL!! And their ramen! Deep flavors that meshed so well together. Just the right amount of saltiness and umami. The brothers enjoyed a few carafes of sake. I took tiny sips and enjoyed the selection! Lighter with clean tastes. We look forward to our next meal here!

Service - excellent Our serve was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu Ambiance - simple and comfortable The vibe was very relaxed and easy to hear our conversations Food - The ramen was too salty. I would rather go to a place known for their ramen. The appetizers were 5 stars! Every single dish was tasty and appealing. Glad we only had three people because we could each have our own piece. The main dish the Lobster Loco Moko was OUT OF THIS WORLD! 10 stars! Very rich and tasty. Full portion...because it was so rich it was enough for the three of us to share. read more
Love this little spot we found while just walking around Chinatown since the spot we wanted to go to was full. MUST have the oxtail dumplings! I also had delicious lamb lumpia and a Bi bim ba sooo big that two ppl could've easily eaten from it. read more

Had an awesome meal here, trying out mostly appetizers which was a smart choice as their appetizers outshine their Belly Bowl ramen in my opinion even though it was perfectly good ramen, it didn't stand out. The scallop cone-sushi was the highlight with the rich broth and risotto filling. The dim sum options were also all savory and well made, especially the oxtail dumplings. Would definitely come back but would order extra appetizers instead of a ramen bowl. read more

A few friends have been here and I'm glad I was finally able to check it out myself. Honestly wasn't first on the list for dinner outside of waikiki area but everywhere was booked with hour+ wait time. Went here and although they were booked for tables, my party of four was able to sit at the bar for dinner and actually think it was a better experience than a table. Jason was working the bar and he was a super cool and chill guy to help us with ordering and hooking it up with great drinks and great service. It was great to have someone there to chat with and ask for anything if we needed. I would say the appetizers here are where it's at! Very shareable and great variety. Duck tacos are chefs kiss. The house special snapper was great too. Overall it worked out for a great dining experience that we couldn't go anywhere else without a reservation. I have been wanting to go here after hearing so many good things about this place. I've come at night on the weekends when the have the window with a selection of items for about $5, but I have never sat down to eat here. I ordered the Fungi Bowl ($16)- which came with mushrooms, but I got the original broth since I had been told that the vegetarian broth does not have as much flavor. However, I was still pretty disappointed by this ramen bowl. The broth still did not have much flavor except for salt and was super oily. The noodles were also nothing special. I would not pay $16 for this. My friends got the Belly Bowl ($16) which came with pork belly, bacon & sausage. They said it was ok. Another also ordered the Brisket Bi Bim Bap ($23) - which he enjoyed, but the meat was pretty fatty. We also shared a carafe of sake- Konteki 'Tears of Dawn' ($45)- which was pretty refreshing, but for the amount probably would not pay $45. Overall, it was not what I was expecting and for that price I probably would not rush back here. read more
I took this place for granted for their dumplings, large ramen bowl and beet salad and really enjoyed the great standard fare. So the special tonight is a tempura unagi shrimp avocado musubi!! Blew my mind! Its such a dream that I didn't know I could dream! Bibimbap, you get what you pay for. Lots of brisket, seaweed, pickled things and spicy juicy kim chee. Mr. Bland couldn't' finish it. The BEST dumplings I've had. The oxtail dumplings are so good that the waitresses and waiters have it printed on their shirts :D The lucky bowl was pretty average but the dumplings have definitely blown me away! read more
I didn't know what to think about fusion Vietnamese and some dishes are little too wild for me but I love what Lucky Belly is up to! It's such a fun vibe and their sister restaurant Piggy Smalls is also fabulous. Do you need a late night bite before you head home? Their ramen is off the hook. Belly Bowl Ramen is great for splitting but be sure to order an extra egg so you each have your own. I love Lucky Belly at KCC's Saturday Farmer's Market too - they have the egg meatloaf rice bowl. I finally got to try here after so many years! I can see why it is so popular. Their appetizers and ramen were delicious! Drinks: I don't remember what it was called but it really didn't taste that great and it was very overpriced in my opinion. Food: Again sorry I do not remember what it was called but I ordered the ramen that was $14 no meat and the other ramen was the most expensive Ramen lol. I apologize I have to do these reviews immediately after I eat there so I don't forget the names of the dishes. Anyhow the Ramens were delicious!!! There was so much flavor and it wasn't too rich . They were also very generous in the toppings not like most places. The appetizer we ordered was a special where it was $30 for the 3 items in the picture. The dumplings in the middle were the best! When we arrived we did have to show our vaccination cards, So they are doing a great job at following the state's rules. Thank you lucky belly for making my 1st experience worthwhile! Food - overall decent. Their most popular dish according to Yelp was the oxtail dumplings, but it was apparently sold out. We got there right when they opened so still don't understand how it was already sold out. We tried the duck tacos, lobster sui mai, wafu steak, and beast ramen bowl. Everything was decent, don't recommend the lobster sui mai. That was our least favorite dish, doesn't have a lot of lobster meat in it and was very overpriced for 3 small pieces of sui mai. The ramen is not your typical Japanese ramen, broth is very different but it's tasty. Price - some dishes were definitely over priced for what it is. Went here for lunch the other day with the work buddy. It's been a while since I ate here, so wanted to check if it still had the ono grinds. I didn't eat breakfast, so I decided to the BEAST BOWL. Wish we could've got some midday libations but we were still working. It wasn't that crowded when we were seated but by the time we left it was getting full. Got my BEAST BOWL, oh my words it had the meats, the umami, the meats, the noodles, the meats, the gooey egg, did I mention the MEATS. According to work buddy, I could've just said some of the meat and had it later with rice as snack or something, but why would I do that, you needs to eat all of the MEATS. I mean buggah was very filling and I am bulking for the summer. Hah. Anyways, the brisket and short ribs were soooo tender. The oxtail won ton, wrapped meaty goodness. I shouldn't have eaten it all, but I had to. Broth was nice and rich. KANAK ATTACK. It's a good thing we walked from the office, so the opu had chance for digest all the MEAT. I forgot the name of what work buddy got, but she liked and had some self control and saved some of her dish for snack time later. All in all, they still have the good eats. We were able to get a table quite quickly even though we had no reservations. The night started off well after we ordered their daily special of the Dumpling Trio, which included the lobster siu mai, pork bao, and oxtail dumpling. The siu mai was our favorite and the latter two were decent, but nothing special. For our entrees, I ordered the miso braised pork belly and my friend ordered the Beast Bowl. Unfortunately, both meals were absolutely inedible. The broth of the ramen was disgustingly salty and tasted too strongly of ginger. The same can be said for the miso pork belly, except the actual pork belly was fine. The porridge portion of the miso pork belly was also too salty to bear. The only thing that saved the experience for us was the great customer service. Our waiter was very attentive and welcoming. After our meals tonight, my trust in Yelp reviews have greatly diminished. read more

I love Chinatown and trying out different cuisines. A fellow foodie and I used a comedy show at Hawaii Theatre as an excuse to try out this new place. The atmosphere was awesome. It wasn't too loud. Our drink order and food came quickly. We had crispy duck tacos for an appetizer. I could go back and eat more plates of those! My friend had the beet salad. And I had the lamb shank. It was cooked to perfection and so tender. It was also too much. That made a great lunch the following day. If you are a drinker, you will love the drinks. The bartender is committed to give you your money's worth. I'm a lightweight. So I had to send my drink back and ask for a lighter touch. My replacement was worth it. Decided to finally dine here after hearing about this place from many different people. I made our reservation through Open Table for a Saturday evening. We arrived 30 minutes early, so we waited across the street in shade until they opened. Once opened, we were seated right away (well, we were the first ones there). The restaurant's ambiance is welcoming with their wooden furnishings. Our server was attentive to us and accommodating to our indecisiveness. He checked in on us throughout our dining experience. On to the food! Their menu is pretty minimal, and to nobody's fault but my own, I did not want Ramen. Only when I looked at the menu did I realize their specialty is Ramen. Instead, we ordered their special of the day (fried fish on a bed of garlic fried rice), Duck Tacos, and Pork Belly Bao. We enjoyed the Poek Belly Bao, although we wished it had a little more vegetable filling. The Duck Tacos did lack flavor. We were actually pretty disappointed of that appetizer. The garlic fried rice was what made the fish dish. The fish did not seem seasoned at all and just fried. Once full, our waiter once again stopped by to see how we were doing. Somehow, we miscommunicated with him, and our leftovers were thrown away rather than packed to go. So we politely left and tried to figure out what we said to him to have our food thrown out (we are getting old, so we needed this time to reflect). If we ever come back, we'll order their ramen. At least we can say we ate here now. read more
Excellent meal!!! Everything on the menu looked good so we decided to order a bunch of appetizers to share. The Pork Belly Bao was so delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked, tender yet crispy, and wasn't greasy at all. Worth a special mention. The other delectable appetizers we tried were the shrimp gyoza, oxtail dumplings, crispy duck tacos, and lobster shu mai. All super yummy!!! Each dish came out perfectly paced so you actually get to enjoy and savor each one individually. Casual, trendy ambiance and friendly staff add to the pleasant experience. read more

Really had a hard time rating this place. Reviews here are plentiful, so what could I say that hasn't been said by now? People have commented about the location and the "colorful" neighborhood and the cast of characters that line the street from time to time. People have talked about the limited space and being lucky if you get in. Expectations were high when I saw the pics of the ramen and the Belly Bowl and read all the reviews about it. Being a ramen "snob" I really wanted it to be on the same level as the other ramen shops around town (I won't name the names, but there's one on Pensacola, one on King St and another on Kapahulu). But amongst those other three, where does the Belly Bowl sit? Sorry.....it would be my 4th choice. The actual bowl is big and they make good use of all that real estate. I opted to not get bean sprouts and even with that missing, I couldn't put it away in the end. The Belly Bowl has a large amount of noodles, seaweed, pork belly (2 slices), smoked ham (2 slices and tastes like ham hock), one arabiki sausage and one ajitama (soft boiled egg). The broth was flavorful with strong hints of sesame oil and pork that has been simmering for hours. But for all that it was, it wasn't the best. A great broth has a lot of collagen in it and it's evident when you drink it and there's a certain feeling in your mouth. It's hard to describe and you won't understand unless you try the other three ramen shops I elude to above. Don't get me wrong, this broth was good, it not memorable. Would I get it again? Doubtful. The other dish we had was a Lucky Bowl (ramen without the meat I had, but the addition of ground ginger) and the shrimp gyoza. The gyoza was delish with at least three shrimps and it was HUGE. They were the biggest homemade gyoza on the island. The service was great as the server took our order without writing it down AND getting it right. I also observed him doing the same for other tables, with more people and it seemed like he got their orders correct as well. He, along with his female co-worker, kept our glasses full and checked on us to make sure we were doing good. If you're in the area, give them a try and get the ramen bowls and chime in with your review. I'd like to see if I am off base or spot on. read more
These are some fine buns!! It's been almost half a decade since I've been here and the food is just as amazing as I remembered! We sat at the bar and ordered a lucky bowl and trio of appetizers. I'm not sure if he was the owner/co-owner or just a really good bartender, but he made all these great recommendations and was engaging in conversation with all the guests. Since I'm allergic to shrimp, he let me choose another appetizer in place of the lobster shumai. The dumplings are still just as delicious as ever!!! And the baos have crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside pork belly. The ambiance is perfect for date night. I need to come here more often ... but I will definitely be back! Great venue for some Hawaii Theatre pre-show cocktails and appetizers! Libations and hors d'oeuvres all the way around. Sampled almost the entire appetizer menu and not a bad one in the bunch. The steak was exceptionally ono! read more

Seated right away. Still a nice looking interior. Not crowded. I'm here by accident by myself because I came on the wrong day . Ordered the Belly Bowl. Soup very tasty. Belly pork fat and delicious. Yum the sausage. The egg is yokey like it's supposed to be. I had a hard time finishing. I'm going to try something different tomorrow. read more
So delicious! The server was incredibly kind! We had five people so she made it so all the appetizers were shareable! We got the pork but bao buns, duck won tons, shishito peppers, and lucky bowl ramen, oh and shrimp gyoza. Not only was everything so delicious and easy for us all to share, but we had amazing (and strong) drinks, and Japanese whiskey was ace! Only thing is the 6oz sake was like 10-14$ but the 10oz went up to 30-50$. So that was a bit confusing. Weird pricing for that. But we are at like 12am so we were happy with beer, whiskey, and delicious food! read more
Had a great dinner here. Came with a party of six and there was a very short wait. We were sat on the bar and fortunately our bartender/server Vanessa was absolutely amazing. She deserves a raise!!! The food was also pretty good, the lobster loco moco was the best loco moco I tried so far in Oahu. The crispy duck taco was also very good. Ramen was okay, slightly too salty for me. Given the great servicr, good food, and unique decor/vibe this restaurant deserves a 5 star. read more
First time dining-in here since covid. Supported them when they were doing the $5 takeout bentos. They are smart in adapting and have earned their position to survive this pandemic. Started off with my favorite lobster shiu mai and asked our server, Shannon to suggest another appetizer. She quickly said the duck won ton. Did not disappoint. Ordered a rose wine for the first time there. Shannon let me taste it before fully committing as she knew this was not your ordinary rose. So, so, so grateful she did. It was too sharp for me. Changed to a Sauvignon Blanc, which I loved. Next, we ordered our beloved beet salad and the Beast bowl. What is not to love??? The only disappointing thing was the absence of their other entree items. But I get it. These are the kind of smart decisions that businesses need to make because of their decrease in traffic. Wanted to try something new for a girls night and we decided to try this place! Lucky us (no pun intended (: hehe) we were able to book a reservation on a Friday at 7pm. Located in down town kind of around the bar/club area. I'm not to sure if they're is a parking structure around the area open but street parking is mostly the way to go. The ambiance is the place is a nice dim lights but lit enough for us to see our food. My friend got their lobster loco moco and she mopped that plate. Before she finished I was able to get a bite and it was pretty bomb. Our other friend got a bibimbap and it was huge. I got the ramen and it was a nice balance of sweetness from the pork and savory from the broth. Overall I think everyone dishes was pretty well portioned. We were FULL when we were done. read more
One of our favorite places for a date night. Lucky Belly consistently has a chill and easy going vibe with very tasty fare and a well stocked bar! I know this place is well known for their ramens but personally I love the pork shank and the lobster moco! The pork shank just falls off the bone into a mushroom rich congee! The fat mixed so well with the soft luscious grains of rice. I still crave that lobster moco though! A crisp lobster croquette blanketed in a thick lobster bisque over fried rice and an egg to add even more! I love lobster bisque and to have it over a deep fried lobster cake just sealed the deal! read more

Good food and good service are always found at Lucky Belly. My husband and I ordered their dim sum special which is basically 2 pieces of 3 of their appetizers. Not sure I would order that again but I was a good way to get a sampler when they usually don't have one. The oxtail dumplings (kinda rich), lobster shumai (our favorite), and pork belly bao (good). When we eat here again I would instead order the shrimp gyoza as an appetizer. It's still my favorite!!! I ordered the bi bim bap. I usually order the lucky belly bowl so I was being adventurous but ended up regretting my choice. The bi bim bap was ok but much prefer their noodles. My husband had the special, the fried snapper, and he loved it. Although I didn't LOVE the dishes we ordered, it's always good food and doesn't disappoint. Super easy to order over the phone for take out - the man who took our order was patient with us. Ordered and paid over the phone. You can make reservations for in-dining if you want. Good thing my husband was driving to quickly drop me off to pick up the food because this area is a little sketch and right before I got out of the car, a screaming homeless man (definitely 5150) was shaking on the door of Lucky Belly. The food is so delicious here! The meat ramen soup base is a bit salty, so have your water ready, but so is all ramen soup base anywhere. We ordered a few items for two adults and one toddler: three meat ramen bowls, ox tail dumpling, pork belly buns, and shrimp gyoza for about $110. Everything was absolutely delicious! We had to throw away one of the ramen bowls because there was too much food (such a waste) - you never know with toddlers! read more
Everything about this place is pretty good, except the ramen. There are a million amazing places to get a ramen bowl on the island, and I would recommend staying away from the one here. The broth just doesn't have a lot of flavor. It tastes overrun with bean sprouts and it just didn't feel like there ingredients were cooked hours just for you. Maybe it was, but it didn't seem like it. Anything else on the menu is a safe bet! Don't miss out on the Pork Belly Bao or Oxtail Dumplings appetizers--my favs! Grab a salad or plate for your main (not the ramen!). Service was exceptional and the atmosphere was modernly cool. I liked how they have a seasonal drink menu. I just finished watching Season 3 of Stranger Things so it was interesting seeing a cocktail menu based on the show. read more

Very convenient spot to eat after drinking at the bars nearby. I had a reservation for 7, conveniently placed on Open Table. We arrived with only 5 but it wasn't a problem and there's no unreasonable fees for not coming with the exact number of people on the reservation. I had the pork belly bowl and it hit the spot. Usually with soup, it drowns the flavors of the individual ingredients but this wasn't one of them. Loved it! read more
Lucky Belly is a hidden gem on the rim of China Town away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and the surrounding areas of Honolulu. I ate at Lucky Belly during the pandemic dining restrictions so reservations were limited and required. This is a very busy restaurant and walk-ins at the moment are limited. I made a res on Open Table and then decided to try walking in because I was just too hungry to wait. Luckily there were open spots at the L shaped bar and was invited to sit. The menu has a variety of appetizers, Ramen dishes and a great selection of beer, wine, Sake and cocktails. I stuck with appetizers and Sake and was not disappointed. The bar tender guided me through my choices of food as well as Sake which he poured generously to the point of overflowing the glass and filling the drinking box. All in all Lucky Belly is a great dining experience. From the innovate Ramen and appetizers all the way through the environment which is a minimalist industrial space decorated with the art of a young student and it really sets an interesting tone for the space. read more

They're located in Chinatown and we found parking pretty easily at a meter in the evening.

Not sure what you mean by "window." Restaurant hours are as posted here.
Do they have gluten free options? I want to bring a group but one of the people is gluten free.

Absolutely yes, just like any other restaurant

The Fungi bowl is vegetarian for sure. Not sure if it is vegan though
