Doraku has been in this spot for many years and they survived the crazy Covid Era. I've been visiting this location more often recently its convenient. They have parking in Pacifica and they still have a pretty good happy hour. They can accommodate larger groups and have outside seating that is dog friendly. Happy hour is Mon-Fri 4-6p and 9pm till closing. My favorites are Miso eggplant, shishido peppers, jumping shrimp and the steak and shishido yakitori and ofcourse the spicy ahi and shrimp tempura rolls. LOl they also have sake bombs (5 for 35$). Service is great and if are sitting at the bar Sharon is awesome!

Food was amazing, also recommend the Brussels sprouts + honey toast!! Service was good, server came back often to check if we needed anything. Wasn't too busy on Mother's Day. Ambiance brings back many memories of japan: the cherry blooms, signs, kazaridaru: decorative barrels

Been to both the Kaka'ako and Waikiki locations and both are good! Kaka'ako is a little more chill, if you're trying to avoid the crowds in Waikiki, and the restaurant has both nice indoor seating and cozy outdoor seating. One of my favorite items to order is always the Steak & Lobster roll. I wanted to try something new this time so I ordered the Toro Taku & Ikura donburi, which I will definitely be ordering again. I feel like you can't go wrong with the items here. Though keep in mind that most of the menu items are shareable sizes (izakaya) so they are on the smaller side if you're not sharing plates.

Another great meal! God of Fire roll is good. Not spicy at all if you like spicy food. The Salmon Kama is also delicious. Portion size is very big. Wish there were more half roll options on the menu.

Food here tastes great! Everything came out perfectly and not too long of a wait considering how much me and my friends ordered! Service tonight was spectacular! Big recommendation to the jumbo shrimp tempura, me and my friends fought over the last piece! But my favorite was the brownie tempura! Please try this!!!! Me and my friends demolished it before I remembered to snap a photo. You will understand once you try!

I have been here quite a few times and always had an ok (nothing bad but not spectacular) experience but last night everything tasted so bomb and the table we had upstairs was so cozy. The food also came out pretty fast and surprisingly we had great service even though we were upstairs and there was only one other table occupied. I was happy with the miso soup, it was hot and salty! The sweet and spicy edamame was good and not spicy! The spicy tuna rolls were delicious, we got both the Ultimate Spicy Tuna Roll and the Wafu Spicy Tuna. I've also enjoyed the hamachi garlic roll before! My boyfriend always orders the chicken kaarage- he loves it! We all shared the brownie tempura ice cream, tempura ice cream and honey toast and they were all super delicious but I think everyone's favorite was the honey toast!

Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Made a reservation via Google for 8:30. Parked at the valet for $7 and was told to pay after dinner. Our parking attendant stopped by our table during dinner to give us our keys and collect payment. Ultimately came for the late night happy hour (9pm-closing). My party and I started with the crispy rice with spicy ahi and were recommended lychee martinis, which were both expensive at regular price. At exactly 9pm, our server came to drop off the HH menus and asked to take our orders right away. She was awesome and I wish I remembered her name. My party ordered 2 rounds of sushi and 1 more drink each. The food and drinks were all less than $10 each, what a steal! Everything was so good as well. I definitely recommend this place for its ambience. It definitely gave "Friday Night Vibes." I would definitely come back for the HH since the drinks and food is good. Regular menu is on the pricier side but I would definitely come back to try their food on that menu one day too.

We went on a Wednesday night so it was quiet and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The menu is overwhelming because there are so many options and the dishes are different than other Japanese restaurants. It was a hard decision but we decided to try the Double Happiness and the Ultimate Spicy Tuna rolls. They were delicious!!

Tried this place on one first week on the island for my birthday. We made a reservation but probably didn't need to. We went early at 5pm and it was a 1/4 full. We asked to be seated outside and we had to wait 10 mins to get the table ready. We then sat outside for almost 15 mins. When the waitress finally came she immediately apologized so all was right. She ended up giving us a free order of nigiri and sushi roll which was nice. We ordered ton of tuna. The nigiri was good but wish the fish was colder. It was slightly chilled but I love when the tuna was cold. The sushi rolls were good but nothing special. The teriyaki edamame was SO good! The outdoor patio was also nice!

Wanted to grab a night cap this past Wednesday and very glad I came in. They have October Chef Specials. Custom drinks for the Holidays. Still wasn't a cheap night, but had some good grinds and great drinks. It wasn't too busy, so service was right on . It was me and my bradda. They sat us in this intimate booth in the corner which was funny, I just hope we weren't too loud laughing.

My boyfriend has been meaning to take me here ever since we touched down on island and I'm seriously glad we made it happen. We ordered : Crispy Eel Roll - Fried to perfection with the perfect bite and toppings for a graceful dance along your tastebuds in every bite. Sashimi 8 - All cuts were absolutely delicious, but my only complaint would be that the salmon did not taste as fresh as I'd appreciate. Oyster Shooter - 10s across the board. Grilled Oyster Mushrooms - Charred with perfection and accompanied by the perfect sauce to add that zing.

    Salmon & Ikura Don

Had a very nice evening sitting outside, had the salmon ikura don! Service was very prompt.

The drinks and food were excellent. We went quite late and there was a happy hour. Our Server, Edward, was patient and came back all the time to make sure we had everything. We were upstairs and it was so cozy. Order lots of Pupus and drinks

Yes parking is in the pacifica free there are signs posted for doraku

Is the parking lot the same one for Chai's Bistro?

    Yes

How does private dining work? Is there a private room? Is there a minimum or maximum number of diners?

Don't know but a few years back we had our class reunion there and it seemed like we were the only party there !

Happy Hour @ Doraku happens on week afternoons only.

Does this location do anything special for bdays? We are thinking of having our friends bday dinner here

    Unfortunately No

    Where do you park?

There is valet parking in the garage next to the restaurant for $6. There is also lots of free street parking in the evening. Check the signs for when street parking is allowed.

Is there all you can eat?

No that I have ever heard of.

Is the service fast? Want to go before an event at the Blaisdell

It all depends on how busy it is, it's relatively fast, but again it all depends on what your ordering and how busy it is. If your in a time crunch and do want to go here I'd say give your self at least an hour or so spacing and an hour meaning be…

There's no private room, but they do have an upstairs section that could seat around 15-20 people, as well as a smaller section off to the side that could seat around 10. I'm sure the staff would work with you to reserve an area of the restaurant if…

We started our vacation with dinner at the Hideout, and upon entering you could immediately hear live music. We received a warm welcome, and brought over to our booth where our server Kai was quick to greet us. We ordered cocktails (I don't remember the name of mine. It's something spritz, and my husband tried the banana bread old fashioned) and we shared the appetizer platter (brussel sprouts with pork belly, kalua pork egg rolls, poke tacos, and edamame)to share. We also ordered the garlic shrimp dumplings. Everything was super tasty. Lots of other items on the menu that I want to try during another visit to the island.

Stressful from the start…read more I called to inquire about parking a week prior to my rsv and was told they were sold out for the night. I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. The food was kind of standard hotel type of food and nothing really stood out. Otherwise the vibes at the restaurant was nice and i do like that they allow dogs to join you. it seems like they have live music after a certain time. I was even more annoyed and stressed with the valet when i went to pick up my car. They literally just handed me my keys. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.

Located in a hotel called The Romer on Nāhua Street in Waikiki off of Kuhio (closer to Ala Wai Canal) it is a smallish unpretentious looking building on Diamond Head side of Nahua. They have valet stand in front and validate parking for up to 3 hours. The valet wasn't very friendly when we walked towards him and usually they hold the door open but this one did not. We realize he's probably not part of Lei Stand staff but it doesn't make a good first impression. Walk into the lobby and directly to your left is the Lei Stand. It is brightly neon but dark if that makes sense, and very small. If you're a fan of when it used to be on Bethel St downtown then you'll be disappointed with this venue. No view to be had, dark drapes cover the windows (we were there at 6:00 pm) and no cute little lanai or garden. Tiny tables either high tops or rounds - maybe 10 total and a small bar. There was one tiny corner booth. The lost star was for this set up but also another lost star for NO MUSIC. Music is such an important part of a place especially a bar so we were disappointed and appalled there was only silence. Bartender said the music was "broken" so we turned on our phones to get something on our table. Then two girls brought in something to light the place up with some tunes so that helped. The final lost star was it is called The Lei Stand yet there wasn't a lei stand inside the place. When we asked the bartender where it was he didn't even know what a lei was. Then we explained to him and he said it is in the hotel lobby but you have to go to front desk to let them know you wish to purchase one. Another disappointment. Thank goodness I bought her a lei from downtown in case they didn't have any. The good stars ... Star 1 goes to the drink menu and how delicious they tasted. "Rub up on my belly" was beautifully prepared and so delicious I had to have another one lol I mean how could I refuse a second guava jam infused Tito's vodka??? Bartender prepared with cute little garnish and an ice stick to keep it cold! He was very nice and took good care of us. My friend opted for the "Clifton's Curse" - yes there's a back story to this drink- and enjoyed the cognac, absinthe, bitters and sherry concoction! Ono! Star 2 goes to the food or "nibbles" as they call it. Taro chips and crack dip were yum and a nice handful of chips not too much and not too little. Hurricane fries - to die for! Plenty of furikake, parmigiano reggiano and spicy aioli. The girls who brought our food were very nice and made sure we had what we needed to enjoy, bringing us waters too. They also had a smash burger for $25 but we had dinner rez later so didn't want to indulge but it looked good. It might be cute if you wanted to do a private party here and I noticed a room across with a beautiful large table set up for a private dinner - not sure if part of hotel or bar.
