Bad part: I've wasted almost four hours (I live half-an-hour from the store); I have to start over again; and who knows if I can find anything as nice again? It's not something he'd wear more than once, is it? The nice associate at Nordstrom told us about Via Roma that recently opened and he thought they might have tuxedos too. So off we went. First impression: oh boy. Sales associate at the counter was watching some video on his cellphone with the volume on really loud. Now that's what I call professionalism at its best! He soon realized we were 5 feet away from him looking at tuxedos. He came over and said, "Hey guys. If you buy 2 tuxedos, you get the second one free!" So I said, "We only need to buy one, can we have it at half price then?" He said, "Nah. That doesn't work that way." The price tag was $299. He looked at my husband and handed him a tuxedo jacket to try on. My husband put it on. I said, "Baby....why do you STILL have your sweater on? Take it off please." Sales associate then said to my husband, "Oh no...he looks alright. The jacket looks good on you. Keep the sweater on, man." ??? What the F@$#! So my husband said, "Nope. I gotta listen to my woman. She knows what's best for me." So he took his sweater off, and guess what folks? You guessed it! My husband was practically swimming in that tuxedo jacket! I decided to check out this store to get something I needed for myself and the groomsmen for my wedding. Personally I found the staff to be helpful and attentive from the time I entered the store. I wouldn't say they were warm and welcoming, but they provided the service I needed. I was in and out of this store several times because there were more things I needed to buy as time went on. Whatever they didn't have in stock they were happy to order for me from other stores or warehouse. Also, the promotions they often have are hard to beat. I got three very nice ties for the price of one the other day. The manager measured me for a shirt to help me figure out what I needed. I took it home and tried it and found that the sleeves were too long. I went back a couple days later and they exchanged it for a better shirt without ANY problems. I felt taken care of here, and the staff were proactive in letting me know about promotions by letting me know that if I came back the next day I could get a better deal, or the manager was willing to give me a great price on an item at his discretion. I can't argue with service like that.

The staff member took the shoe I was looking at (I was holding it and allowed him to take it so he could show the other customer). The staff member then put the shoe back and moved on without a single word to me the whole time (a simple "thanks" or "someone will be with you soon" would be nice). Thought that was pretty weird but was ready to let it slide and kept standing near the shoes for another 5 minutes or so. Another staff member then came by me and said "there are three people working here , sir! No need to be mad! And proceeded to announce to the store that my "body language" was negative. ( I hadn't said a word). I'm not going to sit here and say I was giving a master-class in positive body language. ( I had been ignored and had to walk in front of the mirror a few times to confirm I was in fact, not invisible) but I was pretty surprised at the escalation by this employee. I understand being understaffed and know Jos A Bank is not going to provide premium level service (or product) but come on ... being ignored like that and then scolded unnecessarily by staff in front of the whole store in the same visit ? Can we do better than that? After this experience I decided to buy my shoes down the road at Nordstrom as I frequently get my work clothes there . I got amazing service at Nordstrom per usual! If all the men's clothing stores in Burlington formed some sort of basketball league Jos A Bank would be a JV team in a league of Varsity talent.
