I was in the area recently and I thought this would be a cool spot to take my friend and her kids to while enjoying some fun in the area on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. So upon arriving I thought what a hip little place and I was excited to try it out because of the outside seating and also because it's right next to the Yough. So as we walked in to order the place was dead. There was only three people at the bar having drinks on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with what looked to be their friend who was bartending. So after looking at the menu I decided on an iced oat milk latte because they had zero vegan options from the menu board. I also let the kids pick out whatever they wanted and their mom just decided to eat some of what her kids were having since she knew they wouldn't eat it all. Two ordered pizza, one ordered chips and salsa and the other ordered chicken tacos. So we went outside and grabbed a table and waited for the food to arrive, but it took no time at all. I think that is mainly because there was nobody there eating. Honestly, I was surprised at how fast the pizzas came out, but I wasn't after I saw them lol The two pizzas were a total joke and complete rip-off for $10 a piece. I thought they were supposed to be artisan hand tossed pizza from the pics I had seen, but NOPE! They were literally small frozen pizzas heated up in something that made them all soggy, so probably a microwave. Yikes! If I was eating I would have returned them and asked for my money back, but I let it go because the kids were happy. They were the kind of pizza you get at a box chain grocery store for $1 each, NO JOKE! Then they charged me $1 extra for 8 pepperoni for the one pizza. Hilarious! Also, the waiter/bartender forgot to bring the kids napkins and her son salsa for his chips. Like what?!?He also never came back out to ask if we needed anything else because he must have been busy with his friends at the bar. I have been coming to this area my whole life because of Ohiopyle, Nemacolin, Falling Waters, Seven Springs, The Yough, The Summit Inn, etc and I also had several business accounts in this area for many years and nobody I know ever recommended this place once and I can see why now. Tbh: There are several other places in the area to enjoy a multitude of delicious things to eat that are way better than this place and especially if you're wanting pizza. I could have just bought them one Little Caesars $5 Hot and Ready and it would have been like buying five of their pizzas and the kids would have been much happier and way more full and I wouldn't have wasted $21on $2 worth of pizza from Giant Eagle. *I highly do not recommend* It's a shame too because I really wanted to like this place so much, but if they did better I would have, simple! The Lucky Dog Cafe is right off the bike trail ! You order inside and then find a seat inside or outside. There was complimentary water for humans and complimentary water outside for dogs. The peanut Thai wrap was very good and the jumbo burrito was good and indeed jumbo ! The restaurant was trendy and clean . The service was good as well! There are a few more menu items I would like to try next time we are in town. read more

An expensive spot for a small bar and cafe. Very nice atmosphere especially outside on the deck. You order at the bar like a fast food restaurant and you clean up after yourself in the same manner. My burger was good size and the brioche bun was fantastic. The burger itself was unseasoned. It could have used some aeoli of some sort to give it some flavor. Tacos and margaritas by the lake?? I say YES!! Perfect little spot off the trail and near the lake. Outdoor seating is fabulous, love the whole vibe of the place! I think if you sit outside you normally have a server, but given the circumstances at this time, you walk up to the cashier and order, then receive a buzzer for when it's ready. No problem, grab your margarita, save yourself a seat on the deck and wait for the goodness! The bartenders have skill, the margs are great, but if you say you would rather have a fresh squeezed margarita, they will do that for you! 10 out of 10! Next, the nachos were great and full of flavor. Added extra cilantro to everything we ordered, this was a good call! Also got a side of homemade ranch just to try it- also a good call. Brussels sprouts were a-mazing, crispy and loved the hot sauce on top. Buffalo chicken tacos, very good! Tuna tacos, the best! Nice little stop. Comfortable and nice atmosphere. I feel the food is overpriced. We had the pulled chicken tacos ($13.99) and the cilantro and lime tacos ($16.99)and they lacked meat. The pickled onions were very good. They also needed a small side but disappointingly there was none. Lower your price points and I would give it 5-stars. Service is fine. Went in for a couple of beers and stayed for dinner. The place is right off the GAP trail, and was one of a few places in Confluence that was open. We were spending the night at a great place in Confluence, the Parker House, and were looking for dinner and adult beverages after riding the GAP. In doing some Yelp research prior to our trip, we found this place. It has both outdoor and indoor seating, has a great selection of micro and macro brewery beers, and the food is very good. We started with chips and queso and poppers and finished those in short order. Deciding to stay, I had the Poppin burger rare topped with jalapeno poppers, bacon and cheese and really enjoyed it. One of my sons had the chicken tacos and declared them really good. The place was nice and gets folks coming from the trail and the camping area from the Youghiogheny River, and even for a Monday had a steady stream of people. The outdoor seating looked comfortable and overlooked the river, and is dog friendly. The service was helpful as well making it a really good experience overall and a great place to stop on the GAP. read more

Literally located right off the Great Allegheny Passage trail in tiny Confluence, Pennsylvania it was an extremely convenient spot to stop for lunch. We were so grateful this casual establishment was still open during the season and as it was quite a popular place, we were also grateful to score an outdoor table as the weather was spectacular that afternoon in late October. The limited staff was really hustling to provide quality service which was much appreciated as we wanted to get back on the trail in a hurry. You order inside at the counter, get a number to take to a first-come first-get table, and the food is delivered to you at your table. We didn't have one with us but dogs are welcome. There are a few spots to park a car right in front of the converted house and overflow in the trail access lot just passed another converted house down on River Road. And for us cycling, there are bicycles racks available to park them. I also very much appreciated that the menu included light healthy vegetarian salad entrees. Yes, the prices seemed high but prices seem inflated everywhere these days and is was my top choice out of all the options available nearby. I would definitely stop here again for lunch if in the area again. read more

What a super cool, quirky little joint to find along the GAP Trail! Tons of patio seating and a funky little dining area with games and bright decor. I knew we had made a good choice when I saw baskets of hot sauce on every table. The menu is very creative and refreshing. I went with the Thai Burrito and added smoked chicken. A stellar decision if I do say so myself because the smoked chicken was freakin awesome. The smokiness was perfect with the slaw and the tangy peanut sauce. I love that they used a broccoli slaw. I added some sriracha for some kick and it was perfect. Don't sleep on the chips and salsa either. The salsa was fresh and really tasty. Overall I felt like I was eating very healthy, flavorful, fun food. If you're riding the GAP Trail this joint is just on your right after crossing the 281 bridge. I highly recommend stopping in to fuel up before the long climb to Rockwood or beyond. Take it from me, it's at least a one-burrito climb. read more

This restaurant is a pleasure to dine outdoors after a bike ride along the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) rail trail. It sits just off the trail in Confluence. Menu has many options. I'm in love with the pulled pork tacos. And the bloody mary came with bacon. Yum. Service is always with a smile, though not very speedy. So, just plan on that. There's a resident doggie on the premises which makes me smile and signs that say well behaved dogs are welcomed. I like that and I like petting the resident doggie. Bonus points. Overall I think this is a great little spot. My sister and I stopped here after a long day of paddle boarding at the lake, and we had a great meal here afterwards. We ordered some margaritas and chips and salsa. We thought the best part of the meal was the queso, highly recommend getting some chips and dip as an app. Our wraps were pretty good. My sister got a Mexican chicken wrap, but she didn't realize it would be a little on the heavier side and fried(?). The chicken and grape wrap was much lighter, so be mindful that different items might be prepared a little differently. Prices were a bit steep in my opinion. An entree would be about 12 and you could add protein for around $4, but I think some of the dishes would have been better suited already made with protein on them for the original price. That's just my opinion. Overall we'd probably stop here again to try some more things and to get that yummy queso again. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way home from Falling Water. Cute place, very dog friendly. There is a nice outdoor seating space though it was too cold for us to take advantage of that. The menu isn't large but there is a wide variety of items on it. My husband and I both got burritos. Just a warning- they are huge! I got the Gobbler and he got a Thai flavored one. We were some lucky dogs to even be served, we weren't the best customers by coming to the restaurant not too long before they closed (our fault, I know I know). CHIPOTLE CHICKEN ($11.99): Wasn't sure if the naan was gonna work in the sandwich, but I was pleasantly surprised. The chips got stale fast and were super greasy. I suggest serving fries instead with the sandwich. My friends got several different things like their burritos or wraps. Restaurant is dog friendly, you must sit outside though. I love dogs so I automatically have a soft spot for a restaurant that allows dogs, albeit only on the patio. But The Lucky Dog has far more to recommend it than just kindness to our furry friends. For instance, I ordered the vegetarian black bean burger. There are many restaurants that have this one their menu as a sop to vegetarians. It is usually generic and severely over spiced. Here, however, it was house-made and subtle. In fact, it was the best black bean burger I've ever had. The fries I got with it were nicely crisped. Finally, I also enjoyed my dessert, cheesecake fried in a tortilla and accompanied by whipped and ice cream. Yum. The Lucky Dog is a casual, friendly place. There was nice 60's and early 70's music in the background and the owners seem good-hearted (using their leftover frying oil to make bio-diesel fuel). Hot, dehydrated, and in calorie deficit from a long 100 mile day on the GAP trail. I sat at the bar and was immediately served by a very pretty bartender. She quickly got me a beer, and when emptied, she immediately took noticed and gave me another one. I also ordered a side of fries. A side? No, this was a MEAL! And it was Deeelicious! Slight hint of bacon grease too, which a VERY pleasant surprise. The bartender also filled up my water bottle, including ice, and I was back onto the last 10 miles of the GAP trail. I have no idea what her name was. I'd love for her to know that it shows. (Unnatural blonde in a surprisely bright orange shirt and pink floral short skirt with a choker and a moon on it.) -not friendly -had to be constantly asked for water -kinda just slammed things on to table. Aka careless 4) The food - bland. I was staving coming in to the fact that it was bland and just not worth eating is sad. -We ordered steel Town fries. NO SALT. Barely any queso. ($11) - I had the chicken Pineapple flatbread. Seriously I paid $13 from this!! A Naan flatbread with 6 pieces of Pineapple, a bland white piece of chicken. No marinate it was white as paper and way too thick for a sandwich. The chips thanks to the pickle were mushy. Came barely warm and half way burnt. - Friends had burrito. They all tasted the same. We used half a bottle of hot sauce at the table to give them something to taste. -Never have I said oh look how frothy my ranch is! But today was the day. Props for making homemade ranch, but it was more buttermilk texture than creamy. The food seemed so amazing I had such a hard time picking and changed my mind 2x before ordering. So disappointed in everything. I can't believe we spent $40 for the most mediocre food in my life. I had marinated chicken, foil wrapped potatoes, and grilled asparagus waiting at my campsite. I'll never come back so thank the thunderstorm for this. I honestly would of just ate a hotdog & Smores and been more happy with that than the food I ate. 5) Water all over the floor from the rain without a caution sign.
