I have read so many different reviews about this restaurant. I decided to stop in and try it. It was very easy to find. It's near the corner of Madison Ave. and Auburn Blvd. in Sacramento. Parking was easy. Inside is bright, modern and very clean. Plenty of seating. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The staff person was very personable and helpful. She appeared to be the only person taking walk in, telephone, online and take out/pick up orders. She was very busy, and it was impressive how she handled it all professionally and personably. I ordered brocolli chicken, chicken chow mein and a side of shrimp dumplings. My meal came with an egg roll also. All the food was fresh and delicious! I will definitely return. If you are in the area, Lucky Dumpling is worth trying!

Was super nervous to try, but I'm so glad I did. I ordered on DoorDash, but it was still really hot. When I got here. It was ready fast. The dumplings are so big and warm and filling and you can taste it. Very homemade fresh not frozen. The rice was so good flavorful the bowl was packed. They put sauce packets in silver room. The rice was so warm and the meat was really good.

Mongolian Tofu was well flavored and tofu wasn't super mushy. Definitely recommend for vegetarians or vegans

Parking 4/5 on a strip with other businesses therefore parking may be a limited. Food 5/5 The couple of things and options for myself as a pescatarian by far has great options Service 5/5 From taking order and the speedy cheffing was amazing. Ambiance 5/5 beautifully decorated, comforts earrings and soft music is just the right touch of comforting dining out. Wish I did a video. On a strip, not easily missed but the appearance will have a lot of us foodies drive by. I recommend those that love Chinese food to give them a taste bud test. Food is very affordable. Happy searching my fellow foodies

Unassuming on the outside, inside the Lucky Dumpling is bright and inviting. And oh my, the FOOD! We ordered a little of everything, and it was all hot, fresh, and delicious. The service was perfect, attentive without being intrusive. Before finding this place, we always drove to Elk Grove for dumplings, but never again! This is now our new favorite place to eat.

Definitely will be coming back! This location has been different businesses in the past years and most don't make it long. But I hope this one makes it through. I was a little skeptical because the outside of the location could use a reno but I wanted to give it a try and called for a to-go order. The lady who answered on a Saturday evening was so nice when taking my order. I ordered a wonton soup and steamed rice because I've been craving it for so long. The inside was bright and clean. There was a couple dinning in too. Total was $16.69 including a $2.50 tip so good price as I had leftovers too. I got home and unpacked the order. It was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I almost finished the entire container myself so it will serve up to 1 and 1/2 bowls. I was very happy with the service and quality of the food. I'll be coming again to try out the menu!

General chicken w/ chicken chow mein combo, house, famous wontons, and an order of shumai.

Best shumai I've ever had. I will not be able to eat shumai at the buffet any more. The wontons and general chicken were great too. This is another Highland's Hidden gem.

Seating area inside, nice and air condition is working well. Too bad it smells like someone is smoking.

While eating inside the building, you can smell the cigarette smoke from people/kitchen. Disgusting. Ruined the whole meal.

Wonton in chili oil

I don't know who's rating this place, but the food is super super basic. Food came out so fast, which tells me that everything is pre-frozen. Orange chicken was so bland and chicken was mainly batter. The beef was so chewy. The chicken fried rice tastes like a wet dog. The 2 appetizers were good -cream cheese wonton and chili wontons. They came out super fast though which tells me they have pre-made frozen food. If I want food like that I'll just eat at home. Def won't be back, had high hopes! Place Is very clean despite the outside and waitress was nice. They took their lunch while we ate though and waited a while before getting our check.

Nice and very clean

I think this spot opened up over a year ago. Solid takeout chinese spot. No complaints. Speedy service and good combo deals.

Each hot pot station has a vent so you don't smell like hot pot at the end of the meal and smoke won't be blowing in your face during the meal. The veggies and the meat quality was so good. I loved the beef belly and brisket. The broth was excellent too - I ordered the tom yum and will probably get that base everytime. I also like that their sauces didn't have a weird after taste. I've been to other restaurants where the sauce was not fresh and tasted like tap water. They have a buffet for sauces and veggies. A drink is included, and they have a soda fountain with Coke Zero (big plus for me)! I recommend starting with the cream cheese wontons, and ending your meal with a nice condensed milk bun for dessert. The wontons are crispy and delicious and the milk bun was soft and the perfect portion! The restaurant is clean and has beautiful decorations. There are two private rooms folks can reserve as well. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant where you can park.

I originally came in fully committed to ordering the Bún Bò Huế (P4), but the moment I heard about the $3.50 giant rib add-on, all bets were off. I switched to the P1 Combo Pho just so I could have that massive, fall-off-the-bone rib soaking in that rich, aromatic broth and it was absolutely worth it. The broth was deeply savory and comforting, layered with flavor without being overly salty, and that rib took things to another level. Tender, meaty, and perfectly braised, it made each bite feel extra indulgent. My boyfriend went with the bánh mì pork sandwich, and we added fried egg rolls for the table. The bánh mì had that perfect balance of crispy baguette, juicy pork, and fresh pickled veggies, while the egg rolls came out hot, crunchy, and packed with flavor. We also got the chance to meet the owner/chef and had such a great conversation, which made the whole experience feel even more personal. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the night. Safe to say, this spot continues to deliver -we'll definitely be back for more.

Everyone appeared to have to flag her down to order drinks, to order food, to get sides, and to get their check.

When we arrived, the restaurant itself was super cute with a nice aesthetic and good vibes, but it's very small inside with limited seating. The staff was friendly, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the food just didn't live up to expectations. We ordered several dishes, and most of them lacked flavor. The chow fun was especially disappointing--it just wasn't tasty at all. The orange chicken looked great, but honestly, I'd say Panda Express has more flavor. The chow mein and fried rice were also pretty bland. The chicken with vegetables was okay, nothing special. The highlight for us was definitely the chicken and cilantro dumplings--they were actually really good (which makes sense given the restaurant's name). Overall, it just wasn't for us. Despite the great presentation and atmosphere, the food didn't deliver, and I don't think my family and I would come back.

Despite there being endless selections in Sacramento sometimes the American Chinese options are .... bleh ... They are either too oily. Mediocre taste. Overpriced. It's hard to find one that really stands out. Recently my coworkers and I all pitched in on takeout from here for Lunar New Year and ordered five dishes as takeout. One of my coworkers was the one who recommended this spot. Let me just say the food was incredible. The seafood chow mein was the standout dish out of everything. Loaded with octopus tentacles, scallops, shrimp. Feel like half the time you get seafood options these days they skimp out but this place did not disappoint. The fried rice was a little more unique than I've personally tried before with pieces of beef and cabbage. But still very tasty. And the pork dishes we got including the sweet and sour were just incredible. One thing I do want to mention was some pieces of the pork did have a bone attached, but I honestly didn't mind it much. The flavor made it up for it. Also inside of this place looks very modern, clean. Since we only got takeout I can't say for certain service for sit down but ordering and getting our food was simple. The staff were very kind and friendly. Again, THANK GOD I finally have a good Chinese food option. No more oily salty food or Panda Express.
