Yes! delicious!! If you're in Milwaukee, you must make it a point to visit this local, family owned establishment. They create dishes that are mostly Thai and Korean. The food is fresh and yummy. Prices are reasonable. Eat in or take out. This is definitely gourmet, made to order. Ambiance inside is cool, got some neat art on the walls and some Korean style gaming machines in the hall. Lucky Ginger lacks a lot of character, namely, any trappings of a Thai restaurant. Aside from the name and menu, this venue could have any kind of cuisine. There are dinosaurs and Star Wars figures in the windows and on the bar, sports playing on the TVs, and abstract art lining the dining area in the back. The views are a little sad, and the wooden furnishings could use some upkeep. We got the Drunken Noodles and Curry Fried Rice. Between the two, the noodles were the clear winner. The Curry Fried Rice was served at almost room temperature and had almost no flavor, while the Drunken Noodles were piping hot and filled with delectable peppers, onion, and mini-corns. Our service was friendly and prompt, and out of the way when we didn't need them. They even saved our takeout box after we forgot to bring it with us.I also appreciate the pay-by-QR method for the end of the meal. For context I ordered this on DoorDash so I cannot speak to the actual atmosphere or service. I'm not saying this to be dramatic but this is the worst Thai food I've ever had. The Tom Kha soup arrived separated and has many many vegtables it does not normally have (did not even eat it because it looked so bad). The satay is coated in some dark seasoning and tastes NOTHING like satay, tastes closer to indian curry and the peanut sauce was watery garbage. The pad thai which is usually the most dependable thing to get from a Thai place was barely passable and featured flavorless tofu. The calamari also had no flavor and was just greasy and heavy. The red curry was very watery and lacked depth. The only thing that tasted good was the Thai tea. This was pretty expensive so to wait and pay for food this bad was very dissapointing. I rarely take pictures of the good because when it comes I'm ready to dig in! Love the vibe of Lucky Ginger it's great for a date night but also just a vibe to come sit at the bar eat some delicious pho, noodles, or curry while drinking a beer and watching the Bucks game. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we had at Lucky Ginger. Not pictured, but they have some really good cocktails (mine was strawberry basil). Our family also had their seafood pho and could not stop raving about it! This pud kee mao is quite possibly the best I ever had. Great sauce, perfect amount of spice (we did level 2 and it made your nose run, so beware!) , noodles were just right and I loved that there were SO MANY VEGETABLES. Not old, soggy, or previously frozen vegetables - fresh and crisp, and a lot of variety. They wanted to charge me $15.00 for tip with out asking me. I asked them to remove it and the manger said no. The waiter came walking to me with an attitude and said I don't want to fight with you so I will remove it. Then I paid and she screamed at me and said don't come back. Five star Asian Fusion here! With everything that's going on, we're trying to support local and get take-out a few times a week. We've (somehow) never tried Lucky Ginger so figured now is the perfect time. To be honest, looking at photos on Yelp and social helped me conclude drunken noodles as the best choice. The dish consists of thick rice noodle stir fried with eggs, bell peppers, baby corn, onions, carrots and I added shrimp. It's all smothered in a delicious thai basil sauce. I went for "level two" on the spice meter and it was perfect. Also, five starts for their egg rolls. I mean, you can't really go wrong with ordering these, ever. The sweet tangy dipping sauce was great. My husband went for the special pho, which includes steak, brisket and meatballs, and gave it a thumbs up. This place got two stars based on the venue which was downscale and trendy. The service was deplorable (but the guy got his 10% tip of course) and the food worse. Just some examples, we asked for a certain drink and his response was "no" and he walked away. We ordered different drinks....and the Coke smelled and tasted like chlorine bleach. We had them replaced and the server put them right on the edge of the table between us (we were sitting close side by side). The dumplings were hard and chewy, the chicken satay was radically overcooked and the Lad nah noodles looked like sludge and had the same texture ...... and tasted like wet dog. The prices were obnoxiously high for the product offered. We did not complain, simple didn't eat, but we did pay over $100 for this epic fail. then we went elsewhere to get some supper. read more

I have worked in downtown and come to third ward a lot for the past a few years, but I was surprised that I had never given this restaurant a try. I am glad I did today, with a colleague who likes this place a lot and comes here for lunch very often. We walked in at 11:40 on a Monday and we were the only table in the restaurant. Nice chill vibe. Our server was very friendly. We both ordered the lunch specials. However, we were not sure why it took them almost 20 mins to prepare for our soup and egg roll. My small Tom Kha soup was nothing really special but a good and light start for a weekday lunch. Not as thick and heavy as it looked. A coconut milk base with a decent amount and variety of vegetables and a nice hint of lemon flavor. My colleague enjoyed her egg roll like as always. She said it was fresh and crispy. Our main dishes came in a perfect portion for us! My pad Thai with tofu (level 5 spicy) was very good. Although I am not a pad Thai fan, I have had a lot of Pad Thai before and I really like the Pad Thai here. The noodles are thin and narrow and packed with flavors. Not too oily and not dry or mushy at all. The tofu cubes are deep fried to be crispy. The taste of the whole dish was slightly sweet (as it should be) and not as spicy as I thought. The peanuts on top add the nice nutty flavor and the raw bean sprouts on side are not overpowering. Overall, it is a delightful dish and a nice balance of everything! My colleague got a basil fried rice with chicken. She liked it and finished her plate too. Given how much I like basil, I would love to come back and try the basil fried rice (or maybe just get their pho) soon. Compared to Dandan, I like Lucky Ginger much more. read more

Since my last review, I've ordeeed the pork belly skewers, beef skewere, Crispy Squid, Lao Sausage, Korean Short Ribs, and the Lad Nah seafood combo and beef. Plus, I always order the dumplings on every visit because they are my favorite dumpkings in town! They're great pan fried, but I prefer them steamed. I tried ordering the famous pork belly appetizer before and couldn't get it because it was not available. Finally got it with my last delivery order. It lived up to expectations. I would give five stars. But the red curry disappointed a little bit. It was delicious, but it was watery. My favorite thing about Thai food is it's curries made with thick coconut milk. So, a runny curry is not what I expected. I wish they up their game with the red curry. Also, ordered Thai iced tea which was wonderful except that the half of the glass had big chunks of ice. Within the last few months, the quality and consistency has gone down and I can't justify spending $17 on a dish where the shrimp will be overcooked, the spice level is a shot in the dark, and the rice isn't all seasoned. My friend and I went to lucky ginger and split 3 apps and an entree. We got the egg rolls, beef on a stick, and the dumplings. I would skip the beef on the stick, they were a bit tough but the sauce was really good. The egg rolls were good and the dumplings were delicious! The dough on the dumplings were soooo good! The best food ever! We went 4 nights in a row while we were in town for the Harley-Davidson anniversary rally. We didn't have a bad meal. We sat at the bar and got to know the staff who were friendly welcoming and most entertaining. We wish this could be our local bar as we adopted it for the days we were there. The regular locals were like old friends. The pork belly appetizer was out of this world. I would have ordered it every time but not surprising they ran out. Tom Yum soup and meatball pho had clear full flavored broths that hit the spot. I am a huge soup eater and I finished the bowls even though it was not a cold night for soup. First of all, go. You don't have to read my review, go see for yourself. You won't regret it. I stubbled upon Lucky Ginger after getting denied a spot at Odd Duck on mine and my wife's anniversary. And Lucky for us! Everything about this place was great! Located in the Third Ward, we opted to use Uber. The parking is always a messy situation down there, especially in the winter. The ambiance was warm and inviting. Its modern and rustic with a bar in the front and the dining area in the back. I fall in love with small details; the booth seats had coat hangers on the sides, which may seem so minor, but is oh so appreciated. We were immediately greeted by a woman, who we'll just assume was a host?! But seemed like so much more. She added to the warm ambiance by greeting us and showing us to our seats. After sitting down we ordered our drinks and apps. My ex-wife ordered the Mojito and I ordered the Pom Pom Sangria. Hands down, some of THE best drinks I've ever had in Milwaukee. Seriously. They were so delicious. For apps we ordered the dumplings that take 25 minutes and the Crispy Squid. The dumplings are a MUST! So delicious and beautifully cooked, with a nice crispy sear on one side. So yum. The Squid I really enjoyed. My ex-wife didn't care for it too much because it is very breaded. She felt like there was too much bread, not enough meat. I really enjoyed it! I didn't mind the breading! The seasoning is delicious and spicy, but the sauce that comes with it cuts the spice. Great flavor! We ordered Tom Ka soup and the Massaman Curry. Both delicious and warmed us right up on this wintery evening. For the portion of the curry itself, the side of rice was rather small. We didn't ask for more because we ordered with our eyes. But if you're splitting like we did, I suggest asking for another side of rice. You HAVE to get the Korean short ribs; you will not be disappointed. Actually, you'll thank me. The other main entree that we tried was Beef Pad Thai. This was good. The meat was perfectly cooked and (I personally thought) the Pad Thai was some of the best I've had in Milwaukee. We thought we had found our favorite Thai place in Vientiane Noodle Shop, but Lucky Ginger has taken the cake! It's our new favorite place! It was awfully slow for a Saturday night, which was extremely surprising to us?! We hope that this place sticks around so get out there people! This restaurant looks way smaller than it is on the inside -- I was so surprised! We came on a night where there was not another soul in the restaurant. Service was pretty good, so we were happy. The pho here is very delicious. But, the potstickers are huge and some of the best I've had. Highly recommend them. Great spot right on water for some thai food.
