Clumsy Bueno (top). Shrimp Tempura (bottom)

Rice N Roll is our favorite sushi spot in Milwaukee so far. Every roll was a hit! My favorite was probably the shrimp tempura (lame I know) but it was so flavorful and the eel sauce on it was perfect. David's favorite was the Dragon followed by the Clumsy Bueno. His least favorite was the crunchy California because he wasn't the biggest fan of how the outside was warm and inside was a little mushy. However, I really enjoyed it!! Overall, we really enjoyed Rice N Roll and will definitely be back the next time we are craving sushi! We left completely stuffed.

My friend and I decided to try Rice N Roll for a recent lunch outing. The restaurant is fairly small, but they do offer outdoor seating in the summer. The service was attentive. I think our server was in training or training someone else, but it didn't affect anything. We'd eaten at Kin by Rice N Roll in the past and really enjoyed the food. Rice N Roll to me was not quite as good or as on point. My salad was served in a small, high bowl and it was really hard to eat. The cucumber slices in it were enormous and with no knife, awkward. My sushi was good overall, but my futomaki roll wasn't rolled tight enough, which made it fall apart and again, hard to eat. My friend enjoyed her bento box, which she had with chicken pad thai. The amount of food was generous and she even had leftovers. I will certainly be back to try the main menu.

The teriyaki chicken is always so fulfilling with the vegetables and rice. The eggrolls were tasty too. Perfect crunch and the center was not mushy. I loveddddd the edamame. I was my first time having it and I will eat it for the rest of my life. It tastes like a french fry with all the salt but it's a fresh pop of green. I might even try the spicy version next time. The server brought full water cups at the beginning and left us the water so we could pour it ourselves. The music made me feel like going to the club hangover a Saturday morning LOL

Have enjoyed everything I have tried here! Place is a little smaller on the inside but well worth any wait. Employees are friendly and food is delicious!

Not only is the interesting melding of Japanese and Thai cuisine done MOST EXCELLENTLY the room is modern, clean and well appointed. The service is also friendly and efficient. We've been enjoying eating here for 10 years and it's been amazing every single time.

Ordered a variety of food with some friends for takeaway. I cannot speak to the establishment itself, but the carry out process was smooth and quick. The restaurant is on the smaller side and was a bit crowded when we picked up our food on a week night. There are a couple tables outside when the weather is nice. We ordered pad Thai, a green salad with ginger dressing, a classy Cali roll, mantou, rice and roll dumplings, pad see eiw, and green curry. A small feast. The pad Thai was disappointing and the classy Cali roll was mediocre, but everything else was delicious! We all thought the curry was interesting and we couldn't get enough, the mantou and dumplings were large servings and so tasty.

Absolutely fantastic, not just Sushi, but so much more than that, service, wait time and letting us lounge and relax and not feel rushed, can't wait to come back!

This place was incredible! The restaurant was small with limited seating, which I did read from other yelp reviews, so we arrived right as they opened and were able to sit down immediately. Within 20-30 minutes, the rest of the tables were filled on a Saturday night. We ordered edamame and the Flaming Tuna Crispy Rice appetizer. The Crispy rice is a fried block of rice with tuna and different sauces on top. The flavors were so delicious! Definitely recommend for something a little different. We also ordered 4 rolls - a spicy salmon, the Munchie Munchie, the Sexy Summer, and the Awesome roll. Everything was great. Not surprisingly, the spicy salmon was our least favorite, but it was also the most basic. I love it when sushi melds different flavors together and this restaurant really nailed it. I would definitely go back here!

Great lunch special which was $14. I opted for the BYO Sushi. I started with the miso soup. Then I had the California and Boston roll. Our server and hostess were nice. I went on. Friday afternoon and it was the perfect time. Rice N' Roll is small and has limited seating, therefore keep in mind when you're deciding to visit!

Top to bottom - Mega Salmon roll, Munchie Munchie roll, Awesome roll
    Tianshu S.

We found Rice N Roll through Yelp while visiting Milwaukee and were really excited because of its stellar reviews. While food was good, service was bad. We ordered the Awesome roll, Mega Salmon roll, and Munchie Munchie roll. Munchie Munchie roll was our favorite with its seared salmon and crunchy temperate inside. Awesome roll had fresh big pieces of fish. Mega Salmon was ok, the purple rice was a little hard and we did not like the mayo topping but that's just personal preference. Overall it was good sushi. However we did feel our server Wera was a little rude and did not treat us the same way as other customers. Her attitude towards us was very cold (never smiled once, never said more than "are you ready to order") but we observed she was very friendly and conversational with other customers. She also actively refilled water at other tables but only refilled mine when requested (and ONLY refilled mine even though my husband's water glass was also empty). She also didn't bother saying a word when she brought our check. We ended up leaving a tip that was a bit below average and saw her inspecting the receipt at the register. She then tossed the receipt on our table without saying a word and walked away. I understand this is a popular restaurant and it's hard for servers to pay attention to everything when things are busy. However it did not feel like this was the case because we very clearly observed how others were treated versus how we were treated. Again the food was great. But no amount of good food can make up for the terrible experience created by bad service and feeling of being treated differently.

Can I give this place 6 stars? I travel the country for work and this is the best Sashimi plate I have ever eaten. The green tea, miso soup, and seaweed salad were all on-point as well. Staff extremely friendly & appreciative. I've saved this place to my Milwaukee folder for every visit!

i'm always suspicious of combination sushi/thai spots but this place was really hyped up to me. my friend and i split the packer's roll and khao soi. the broth of the khao soi was thicker & more curry-like than how i usually prefer it. the egg was basically hard boiled which was disappointing. the sushi imo was better, there are a couple rolls that i'm curious to try next time. overall good service with a cozy interior!

The Milwaukee & Green Bay sushi roll

There was a little bit of a wait, but the staff was very attentive to when waiting. The food was quick and very delicious! Not pictured, but we did have edamame and Moo Ping as well for appetizer and it was good!

When we arrived for our 4:30p reservation, there was a line of half a dozen people hoping to get a seat at one of the bars first come, first serve. One is the alcohol bar and one is a sushi bar. Our server was amazing. She had great recommendations and made sure what we ordered was spaced out nicely as the tables are small and some of the dishes take up a good amount of space. We ordered bottles of mineral water. We don't really drink so this made the meal feel even more upscale and it went so well to cleanse the palate between courses. The food was phenomenal. There wasn't a dish we didn't love but extra about out for the hamachi kama yaki - grilled yellowtail collar. It was bigger and meatier than I expected. Delicious. The sushi here is amazing. I'm half Japanese. When I go to sushi places not near a coast, I usually don't get much raw aside from scallops and spicy tuna or salmon rolls. These hand rolls were absolutely fantastic. The seaweed wrappers had covers on them to slide off just before taking a bite so the wrappers stayed crispy. I would go back here just to order various hand rolls. The pad Thai was the best I've had. The noodles were perfectly cooked and smooth in my mouth with the light yet creamy sauce. I could only take a couple bites as we ordered more than we expected we could eat haha. I cannot wait to go back to Milwaukee to go back.

The reason I speak to the number of adults is because they were a bit inappropriate: they were very loud and I felt so bad because I have no doubt the group I was with disrupted the experience of other diners. I'm not a prude but even I was slightly embarrassed at times (I didn't know the group well and didn't anticipate the noise/volume). ANYWAY, I bring all that up because our server tolerated us and I was very grateful for him. Aside from being kind, he was very knowledgeable about trying/pairing items and making suggestions for us. The drinks were beautiful and the food was bright--fresh and flavorful. Bathrooms were spotless. I am looking forward to coming back on my own ;)

For appetizers, we ordered a Fresh Speing Roll, Crab Rangoon (made with imitation crab, as stated on their menu), and a special Crispy Roll, which I would describe as Nam Khao in roll form, still served with Romaine lettuce wraps. All were very good, and we would order them again. The spring roll had a ham stick in it, which was different than any other spring roll I've had. For entrees, we ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and the Pho with Oxtail, which was also a Sunday special. The Pad Thai was slightly sweet, and they used pho noodles for it. The Pho broth was among the most rich and flavorful I've ever had, and the oxtails were among the most tender and delicious I've ever had! The pho also had meatballs and steak in it.
