I've put off trying this place because of past reviews but I was surprised at how well the food was. We had pork dumplings and kfc chicken from the appetizer section which was delicious. I had the creamy shrimp ramen and also spicy chicken scallion for the main which were good but the chicken was not that spicy and kind of felt like it was just sweet taste. They should've used similar size pieces so it would've been crunchy as well like advertised. The service was great, the waitress was really sweet and the ambiance was pretty. Cute place and nice ambiance! The sweet and spicy dumplings were very good. They had a nice crispy texture and the sauce was great! I had the stir fry udon noodles and got them mild. They lacked flavor and the server brought a few sauces for me to add to the dish. My friend got the ramen which was huge. read more

Sinabro is a cool place to go if you're craving Korean. It has a nice ambiance perfect for date night or a dinner with friends. They have plenty of seating but would highly recommend a reservation to be safe. I got the chicken ramen which tasted pretty good and it had lots of chicken pieces and vegetables which I enjoyed. My Foodie Cuzzie lives in the neighborhood and is addicted to this place. I finally made it here. Walking in I felt the comfy vibe. We were able to get a table for our group of seven. Our server was really nice and helpful with the menu. Since it was pretty cold out, we were all craving tea. I had the green tea served in a cute cast iron teapot and cup. My cousins ordered the Yuzu tea which quickly became their new obsession. To start, we shared some steamed shu mai. Very yummy. That came out pretty quickly after our tea. We all ordered some form of ramen. It took a while to get our food because they were training a new person in the kitchen. We were pretty hungry, but tried to be patient. We had a table of 4, so we just order a couple of starters and entrees to share. Starters: Duk Bokki with cheese - nice and chewy rice cakes in a sweet and spicy sauce cover with melted cheese. This was a great start, it had perfect amount of spice. KFC- 4 piece Korean fried chicken- wings covered in their secret Korean bbq sauce. Sweet and tangy paired perfectly with their sticky rice. Bimbimbap- this was my favorite dish and what I really came for. After mixing all the veggies, meats, rice, it was perfect! It's an OK Korean restaurant. It's clear that there isn't a large Korean population in Milwaukee. The banchan was pretty small and not much to it. I got the Jjam Bong which is a Korean Chinese Spicy Seafood Noodle Dish. The noodles felt like they were instant ramen noodles but the soup was pretty good and the contents of it were good with dduk (rice cake), cabbage and some seafood. The Bibim Bap my friend got seemed to better but the only banchan was this picklish type of kimchi. A Korean restaurant should and needs to have Cabbage Kimchi. We also got the mandu which was fried nicely and pretty good. There aren't a lot of Korean Options in this part of town so if you need korean food this will suffice but if you get to other parts of town I'm sure there are better Korean places around. read more

I keep coming back so I need to upgrade my review to 5 stars. I am addicted to the cucumber kimchi. On one visit they brought out extra by mistake and let me keep it and I ate it all. It is also available to go. The other reason I keep coming back is that I crave the ramen. The server on one visit recommended the chicken ramen so I tried it. It's warming and mildly spicy and perfect for a winter day. I like the rice cakes in it. The potato sujebi is also highly recommended. I have tried several dishes on the menu and haven't had anything I didn't like. I get a spot at the bar at lunch on Saturdays usually and it's pretty laid back. - Ok food, good service, ok ambiance - No reservation made - Would return, but no rush Made a quick stop at this newer Korean spot to try out their ramen my girlfriend liked, and try other Korean dishes not so typical to a few spots we have been to. I had gotten the Black Bean Ramen w/ Seafood that came with some shrimps and a mussel. The black bean sauce was new to me and I enjoyed the sweeter flavor mixed with all the vegetables. While the noodles were cooked well and the tasty sauce coated each bite, the ratios were off to me. For the price paid, 3 medium shrimps and 1 mussel was not enough to satisfy me. To even further contrast the protein, there was a lotttt of zucchini and onion pieces and plenty left after I tried to eat a scoop with each bite. While the flavor was there, those protein portions left me not so impressed. My girlfriend got the Shrimp & Soft Shell Crab Ramen and it was tasty and not something I had seen before! The broth was very seafoody and flavorful and was very good when eaten with the soft noodles. Again, the protein portions were a bit off with the shrimp, but the soft shell crab was good. I am used to a fried soft shell crab, so the unfried crab was interesting as a seafood gusher, but not so much my cup of tea. While the broth was good with the noodles, on its own it was almost too seafoody and was a bit much by itself. They have a complimentary cucumber side that I did have to ask for, but it was quite spicy, so I can see why it is something you ask for and not a standard. With all these comments, the food was flavorful and had sizeable portions. I am definitely open to trying their other menu options and am optimistic for the next visit. I am surprised that this place is never full inside! I've been a couple of times, and enjoyed the food on both occasions. It is very cute inside and always good service - I was especially appreciative of the server recommendations and clarifying how hot the different levels of spiciness actually are. Definitely get some dumplings - very tender and delicious. I love that they bring you a side of kimchi right from the get-go too - it is pretty spicy, but I love it. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around lunchtime. Four adults and a teen. The restaurant had quite a few full tables when we arrived. We were seated quickly and our waitress arrived shortly after we weee seated to take our drink orders. We ordered the Fried Kimchi Teriyaki Dumplings, some pork dumplings, the Chili Shrimp and a ramen dish for all of us to share. The Fried Kimchi Teriyaki Dumplings were amazing and are now on my "best things I have eaten in 2024" I keep thinking about them. Everything was very good, we were happy with everything we ate. We stopped by Sinabro shortly after its opening time on a Saturday. There was only one customer inside at the time, but we learned that the restaurant was fully booked for the night and were seated at the bar (which we did not mind). The style of the restaurant's decoration was modern and quite pleasing. There were evidently still kinks to iron out after its initial opening in late March, as there was no paper in the paper towel dispenser in both toilets. The bar tender was busy but quite friendly and recommended two dishes that were both very tasty. The Kimchi Beef Fried Rice had a plethora of flavors that were almost addictive, although the amount of beef was quite paltry. The Spicy JJambbong Ramen was also very flavorful, again with a small amount of protein (2 shrimps, 2 pieces of squid, a clam, and a mussel); the shrimps were quite tender, but the quid, clam and mussel were a little overcooked. We also ordered Duk Bokki as an appetizer, mistaking it as a dish with lots of vegetables based on the description, but it turned out to consist mainly of chewy rice and fish cakes with a spicy sauce. The small plate of kimchee, which came complementary from the chef, tasted fresh and well balanced for our taste (not overwhelmingly sour, salty, or fishy). Our overall impression is that the restaurant serves flavorful modernized Korean dishes that are somewhat adapted to the American palate with more sugar added in the typical restaurants in Korea. There are meat-centric dishes on the menu (which we did not order), but the amount of protein in the noodle and rice dishes is relatively small (which is not unusual in traditional Korean cooking based on our experience). We believe it is a nice addition to the city's dining scene. read more

I also got a taro milk tea but it came a bit warm with the ice in it and tasted a bit watered down. We waited about an hour for our apps to get to the table. And the entrees came shortly after. If you come here and your waitress is Gracie, go ahead and close that menu and go to Screaming Tuna, Cafe Benelux, The EdisonX or any of the other great restaurants with great service in the Third Ward. Price gouging and automatic gratuity. Waitress asked me if I wanted "a lettuce wrap as it's the traditional way to eat the dish" and did not tell me it's an $8 upcharge on top of the $24 I paid for the entree. $3 for a coke and the waitress started in again on refills (assuming there is also a charge for a refill). My friend was charged $1 to steam her dumplings........... There were six of us and they charged 20% automatic gratituty that the waitress did not deserve. Only two of us ordered a Coke and a Diet Coke (the other four didn't order a drink at all) and she set the wrong drinks in front of two people. Obviously the first thing we ordered as they were drinks. If you can't remember which item to serve and who to serve them to, maybe you should find another profession. I spoke with the waitress after we got this bill as I was confused and upset. She did not do anything about the bill. We were there less than an hour. I don't even make $32/hr, and I can remember two things. Maybe even three. Will not be back. read more

We had the Duk Bokki with cheese as a starter which was so tasty and had plenty of cheese! For food we had the squid udon which was definitely our favorite dish - there was a ton of squid and the sauce was delicious with the perfect amount of spice! A got the dumpling stew which was good but couldn't compare to the squid udon. We had a bit of an awkward time with the utensils since we had the spoons cleared after the appetizer and didn't get more for the entrees so we ended up grabbing them from an empty table. Sinabro was a great Saturday night date night spot that I'd recommend to others! We made a reservation mid week and were glad to see they had plenty of time options left. The restaurant is much larger than it seems from the outside with plenty of table/booth/high top seating options. Highlights were the duk bokki (favorite part of our meal), spicy edamame, and black bean ramen with beef. Our only hangup here was that we wish the ramen came with more beef, but the dish overall was still delicious. We also got the spicy chicken teriyaki which was not my favorite as I think the quality of the chicken could have been better and the overall dish more authentic, but my boyfriend still really liked it. The bingsoo dessert was quite disappointing to us. It seems like it was pre-made then frozen which led to some pretty big ice chunks sitting at the center of the dish. It was not comparable to any of the bingsoo that I've had from specialty shops in the past, and I hope others do not consider this a good representation of what bingsoo actually is. The strawberries and mangoes were not fresh but frozen, and the taro listed on the menu was just powder. The mochi and ice cream topping still tasted good though and were the best parts of this dessert. Overall, despite the dessert, we still enjoyed our experience at Sinabro. Dishes were a bit slow to come out, but we didn't mind as we weren't in any rush. We also shared everything so it didn't matter that dishes came out one by one, but if you are planning to order individual entrees it might be good to request specifically for entrees to come out at the same time. Today, I had the good judgement of ordering ahead from Sinabro and the order was ready when I got there (5-10 minutes ahead of schedule). When the tofu sundubu came we were quite sure that there wasn't an egg inside but when we vocalized our concerns to the server they were just brushed away which I wasn't too happy about. Taste wise, both dishes were pretty good. It seems like the restaurant is going for an American-Korean fusion which I think it does well overall. Ambiance wise it comes across as a combination between 1920s decadent and industrialist American. Not what I would have expected from a Korean restaurant but not unwelcome certainly. The food did not disappoint. Very flavorful. Duk bokki is spicy but it only hits at the end, so be careful. The only thing I wish is there was more udon in the spicy stir fried squid udon. SERVICE: I came here for lunch today. I made an online reservation about 10 minutes before I showed up. I was in a party of 2. Upon arrival, we were quickly seated. FOOD: I ordered two items. I got the 1)Sweet and Spicy dumplings and the 2) Beef Stonepot Bibimbap. The dumplings were beyond beautiful. The presentation alone had me afraid to dig in. The dumplings were very good. I got the veggie option. The sauce on the dumplings is very flavorful. The bibimbap was my favorite. I was so excited about my order that I started eating and then realized I didn't take a photo of the original presentation. The bowl is a lot deeper than it looks so you're getting your money's worth. As one person, I spent a total of $40 (this included a 20% tip). In terms of price, Sinabro is on the more expensive side but I got to take back leftovers so I'll consider it $20/meal.
