I first tried Lucky Lou's through Uber Eats one night and ordered a flatbread pizza with pasta salad. Honestly, it blew me away. The flatbread was fresh, flavorful, and the pasta salad was a perfect side. Tonight I decided to pick it up in person and ordered another flatbread along with mozzarella sticks, and it was somehow even better. Everything was hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. The mozzarella sticks were perfectly crispy and the flatbread was just as good as I remembered. Safe to say Lucky Lou's has definitely earned a repeat customer. If you're debating trying the flatbreads, do it -- you won't regret it. read more

Lucky Lou's Tavern is basically a nice dive bar. Meaning that it is a low end restaurant but a high end dive bar. At least, that's the feel I get from it. But I love a good dive bar so I'm cool with it. They have plenty of parking which always gets extra points in my book. The service is good and drinks come quickly. This place is awesome! Walked in 10 minutes prior to the Steelers game and got a seat at the high top directly in front of the big screen showing the game. After ordering a beer and nachos the lady behind the bar noticed my shirt and put up the volume on the Steelers game. Very thoughtful while I enjoyed watching the game with my 14yo son. Queso, salsa and chips were a great snack while taking in the game. I appreciated the staff continually getting me beers and bringing extra chips so we could finish off the queso and salsa. Centrally located in a shopping plaza on Park Rd. with free parking, this place offers great draft options and a pretty standard menu for a sports bar. My friend and I were looking for a dog friendly bar to grab a early dinner. I know that Lucky Lou's has been around for a long time and I thought we would give it a try. I came in the door, everyone looked at me, no one greeted me, so after I stood there for a minute, I decided to go and get a table out on the patio. The bartender seemed particularly annoyed that she was going to have to wait on me and my friend. She was attentive, but was in no way personable. Her attitude and vibe was off the whole time. They do have a really nice patio and are very dog friendly, which is a big plus. I ordered the Cajun chicken, which was very bland. It really lacked any seasoning at all. The chicken did have seasoning, but not the sauce. The pasta was slightly overcooked. My friend enjoyed her mushroom Swiss burger, which was loaded with mushrooms. We were disappointed that they did not have hienz ketchup. The fries were hot and fresh, but not crispy. Overall, I wouldn't say that it was a great experience. Maybe we came too early in the day maybe I'll try it again sometime in the future. read more

Surprisingly very good food! It was my first time visiting, but I went with a regular who assured me it would be good. We were there on a week night and they had karaoke playing at one of the place and some pool tables in the back. He ordered wings and I had the chicken tenders and fries. If you're look for something to eat on a late night in the SouthPark area this is probably one of your best options. They do karaoke during the week and have games and a pool table in the back. It's very much a dive bar and the food was decent for a late night grab. The burger and nachos were good. The Alfredo left a lot to be desired. When I went to the bar I was ignored. We went to play pool and we overheard one server say to another server "Do you want to go over there?" Lucky Lou's has gotten a whole new staff and the service is better than ever. They've totally changed up their menu and sadly removed my favorite thing, the black and blu salad. The new staff is great but I don't like the new policy that you have to put a card on hold when you sit down if you're going to be drinking. I understand the reasoning but I've been going there for so long I didn't think they would need to do that. They have karoke on Fridays and Saturdays that will entertain you for hours. People get really into it and the regulars all have their go to songs. I really like the new spinach dip they've added to the menu. It's a great appetizer to share. So the bouncers checking IDs at the door were not checking IDs at the door but sleeping on the patio and occasionally smoking. They were informed a large group was coming in for drinks ahead of time after we worked and they were fine with it. However the waitress with blonde hair to her mid shoulder threw plates, rolled her eyes at us when we ordered, and expected a tip for her behavior... she's lucky I gave her something she didn't deserve out of the kindness of my heart she still got 20 percent. However we only asked to order ONCE and when we tried to get her attention again to check out she walked away and proceeded to talk rudely about all of us to her co workers. Will not be back. My first visit to Lucky Lous was for burger week ($5 burgers at multiple restaurants) and it did not disappoint! The service was on point and the burger was delicious. They had me at pimento cheese AND bacon. We ordered a side of fries and homemade chips. The burger was cooked perfectly and the homemade chips were delicious! I wish we would have gotten a basket of those delicious things. Lucky Lou's also had a drink special of $3.25 Budweiser bottles, which made my husband happy! We will be back. read more

No frills sports bar located on Park Road not too far past Montford Drive. I used to live down the street from this place but it had been a while since I stopped in. Decided to check it out with a buddy on a rare snowy day in Charlotte to watch the premier of XFL. The place was pretty empty when we first came in around 2pm but over time it started to pick up and had a nice crowd by the time we were leaving. They had two pool tables so we got some quarters and enjoyed a game. The beer was cheap and their grilled chicken wings were really good. They seem to have everything you could want in a sports bar. I wish I was a Seahawks fan because I would definitely be ok with spending my football Sundays here. I need to come here for karaoke some time because I'm sure that is a blast. read more

What can I say about LuLu's? It's a bar....it's a sports bar....it's a tavern.....it's a hangout.....it's a local watering hole....IT'S ALL THOSE THINGS TO EVERYONE! A place like LuLu's is rare and if you give it a chance you may find it will become "your place". To start with it's a friendly place, GREAT service. It can be busy or quiet depending on the events, Football season (Yes it's a Seahawks bar but the fans are super nice and not obnoxious!), March Madness, Karioke... The food is bar grub but it wont disappoint. My favorite is the BLT with fried green tomatoes...burgers are awesome and TATER TOTS! I could go on but you are sure to find your favorite on the menu. Parking is safe and plentiful so no worries there. Pleasantly surprised by Lucky Lou's! I've only been there once before when it was Fairview Grill so wasn't sure what Lou's was going to be all about. It's so frickin dark in this place you feel like you're walking into the unknown and it was absolutely empty on a beautiful sunshine filled day day so I was stoked to see they had a patio area. Along with that they have a good number of tables out there plus a ping pong table...or beef pong table....or flip cup table depending on how rowdy it gets there. Typical bar food you would find anywhere but I surprised myself by ordering the Black & Bleu steak salad and it was just what I needed on a hot day. They give you a generous portion of steak, pair that up with candied pecans and bleu cheese crumbles and you have a solid steak salad. My friend got the fish and chips and when they brought it out, we couldn't stop staring at the piece of fish they served. As opposed to a few pieces of fish it was one huge piece of fish and I think the biggest I've ever seen. DAMN YOU LUCY! I feel like Charley Brown and Lucky Lou holds the football. In my first review I said the fish and chips were the best I ever had, so in spite of the lousy prime rib as covered in my most recent review, I went back for that great fish and chips. It was the worst I have ever had. The fish, tilapia, had a musty flavor. But the good news is the taste of old basement was overcome by being fried in very old oil, dark from oxidation which makes the batter bitter. Ugh! Oxidized oil is not an accident. You can see it in the fryer. Food comes out of it very dark and--again--BITTER! Unlike Charlie Brown who trusted Lucy time after time, I don't trust Lucky Lou's anymore. They should change the name to Lucy Lou's. read more

Today, I saw a post on Nextdoor from the owners mother and we decided to give it a try especially since we're trying to support our local restaurants. Ordering was so easy and the staff was very polite and accommodating. We ordered 2 burgers and wings. We've not gotten to the burgers yet but I'm very impressed by the wings and we're total wing snobs! The only complaint is the wings weren't very saucy but I'll just order them extra saucy next time :) They also seemed very appreciative for our business. We will be back! read more
