This is a long overdue review, Danny and the ladies at Lucky Nails are the best! I love getting my gel manicures done here, every time I get them done they pay close attention to detail and the polish lasts for weeks! I found this place on yelp and I'm SOOO glad I went in!! They did my nails EXACTLY the way I wanted. The lady that did my nails was so detailed and patient and made SURE that I got exactly want I needed. My nails look amazing. I also got a pedicure and thought I needed a callus remover to add for only 5 dollars but the lady assured me that I did not need it which I love because other nail salons are so pushy and I'm glad I came to a nail salon that gives you what you want and need without being pushy and annoying about it! Love this place and love the prices as well! They don't have actual pedicure seats but I did not mind at ALL because all the great things they offer. Two thumbs up!! Edit: I think her name was Tina?? If you're coming for a pedicure, go somewhere else!!! I came last week for a pedicure and I was completely disappointed. I 've never had a problem with a nail salon checking to see or removing an ingrown toe nail, but this place wouldn't even check. She said right away that they don't do that. This place is stuck in the 80's!!! Maybe the 90's they have the old school chairs and the old school nail dryers, very out dated random place in the cut. I'm surprised they aren't more up to date considering they are by 2 colleges. Worst pedicure EVER! The lady did a horrible half a$$ Job to the point where I had to direct her on what to do and physically take the tools to do my own pedicure. She exfoliated my feet with some soft pad, when it's purpose is to rid of dead skin. She was also super slow. The lady who did my nails did good and a man named Danny. But I can tell this location is not up to knowledge about current nail styles, colors, designs or trends. So if you want a basic something where they are slow and l to feel like you are in a time machine back to the past then this is the place to be, don't forget your fanny pack! read more

Made an appointment over the phone. Go in and as i'm looking for a color for my nails, the man says "oh forgot to tell you, we only accept cash" so I said "okay i'll be right back, i have to go to the bank" he then insists that I use the atm by yogurt land & I told him it wasn't my bank and I would be right back from Chase bank. While I am still looking for a color, a woman with her baby walks in & asks for a pedicure. The man then says "is there someone who can take care of the baby" she says that she can and she only wants a pedicure, that if her baby wakes up, she can hold him. the man says "we don't want the baby waking up and crying." this man refused to give a woman a pedicure because she had a baby? that makes no sense? what is it about a baby that she couldn't get a pedicure? I walked in pretty randomly and was seen immediately, I don't usually go here I go up the street to pastel where appointments are apparently useless and you need to wait 3 hours for your appointment, so I decided to just walk in.. I think her name was Tina did my nails and she did a fabulous job! I love them they're so smooth so perfect they aren't thick to one side and uneven they're GORGEOUS!!! I was disappointed with the nail shop, after reading the positive reviews on yelp. Service: a) After 3 days my nail polish is already chipping, I think probably because the color I selected was almost finished so the lady working on my nails kept adding something in it - instead she probably could have suggested I choose another color. Oh well, I'll go back to my usual spot in Long Beach. b) No spa pedicures, a little bit outdated facility. Payment Options: Cash Only, not even debit cards. I've noticed this is common practice in shops and I wonder if maybe this is a way for businesses to not pay taxes or they've had people dispute the charges after services....hard to tell why businesses only want cash. Pricing: Buy cheap, buy twice - paid less than $25.00 for a mani and pedi, but my nail polish is already chipping. I had fills done here for the first time yesterday. I called ahead for an appointment and the guy said they charge $16.00 for regular fills. Well, by the time I got there (an hour later) their prices had increased significantly! They used regular white powder (and the girl did a pretty good job, they looked nice) so I chose to leave them natural... no color was applied... he put some top coat on them, and that's it! But he charged $32.00! Thats double what he told me on the phone, and I got NO color! HELLO!!! I don't mind paying for what I get, but I didn't get the color he charged for! So it's not right! But there are many nail places to pick from, so I won't go back. Its my personal choice NOT to support a shop that intentionally takes advantage of people like that! read more

Please don't let the good reviews fool you. New to the area and have been looking for a good nail shop this is the second place I've gone to in Azusa and still have not found one yet. It's the weekend before Labor Day and I am in desperate need of some nail care but I know every place is going to be packed on a Friday. I came here because of the good reviews. As soon as I walked in I wanted to run right back out. The shop is extremely old, very outdated, small and to my surprise No Spa Chairs. The guy behind the counter not really friendly and was quick to tell me they only accept cash I'm still thinkn no Spa Chairs but I'm desperado so whatever The price was very cheap but now I see why the place is run down, not many colors to choose from, no drying unit for your nails, they don't even have flip flops and did I mention No Spa Chair. The owner is really being to cheap u need to step it up seriously. The manicure was decent but pedicure terrible she practically ripped the skin off my toes and they were very in personable. Great little hidden spot! The lady that worked on me was so detailed. Finished in a timely matter and you can tell she cares about doing a nice job. It's quiet, clean, and very affordable. They don't have a lot of polish colors or the brands I would like to see (opi, Essie, etc) but the service I got will keep me coming back. The parking in the plaza isn't the best but that's not their fault. Def recommend this place. If you are looking for it, it's in the plaza with pieology and yogurtland. read more

This review is long over due. I have been coming to Lucky Nails faithfully for 2 years now. Danny, Tina, and Tin all do great jobs. Tin is the best at pedicures and Danny does wonderful manicures. They pay close attention to detail and cater to exactly how you want your nails. I've been to other shops where they rush you to pick a color, rude, and do overall terrible jobs. I never used to be a girl into my nails or polish but coming here has turned me into a girly girl that comes every 2 wks to change my color. I get compliments on my nails and colors everywhere I go, from my boss to strangers telling me they love my nails! This place doesn't have fancy spa chairs and honestly they are NOT needed, because your nails come out looking so great! Danny just got the hologram polish in, I couldn't wait to try it! I will leave a few pictures of their amazing work to encourage other people to try them out, you won't be sorry. read more

I had an appointment for my Mom @ 12:30 and they didn't get her in till almost 1:15, and they weren't busy only 2 people getting pedicures. They don't have the spa pedicures they have the old fashion ones. They told me cash only no checks or credit cards, yet the other lady that just left paid with a check. The lady doing my Moms nails was not very nice, but yet she was really nice to the lady that just left. Maybe she's a regular. My appointment for 12:45 and they didn't get me in till almost 1:30, They rushed and made 3 nails bleed. My Mom has Dementia and I told them to try and have patients the lady said no problem. The lady kept telling my Mom to turn her hand and I asked her what she needed her to do, and she said she needs to turn her hand. I told her if my Mom turned her hand anymore it would be uncomfortable for her, and she needed to mover her chair a little so it would be easier for both, that way you don't have to keep telling her over and over. Over all my nails looked terrible and the next day I had 3 fingers that we're very sore and red. I will not go back again! By the way this happened a few months ago but I just finished posting it today. read more
