Last week was my first time in Lucky's Napa store as we are new to town!! Had a wonderful interaction with Chris in Deli-Bakery! She was so very pleasant and over & above helpful to my needs! I won't bore you with details, but she took my special order.... answering all my questions and couldn't have been more helpful! Check out was very nice...met store mgr & Brandi, both very nice! This store is a JOKE!!! First of all, the prices are extremely high, more than Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. The staff are incompetent on a different level. You could come into this store for 1 item and be standing in line for 10-20 minutes. They either need better staff, or more lanes open. Usually one checkout lane is open. Self checkout becomes extremely backed up as well, because no one can stand to wait in the line of someone scanning 1 item every 2 minutes. It's ridiculous. read more

I love the Lucky store (on Jefferson and Trancas, but almost never go there since some idiot made them turn the thermostat down to nothing. I was in there Sunday wearing a teeshirt under a sweatshirt and had to go back out to get my coat. May force me to go to Safeway. read more

The quality of food was really good. The store was very clean. The workers in the deli were kind and inviting. I picked up some fresh MOJO potatoes, a deli tray of crackers, a monterey Jack cheese, and turkey. Went to produce and got some really good plums which I was surprised were ripe enough to enjoy. There were special items that I found like Polar Ice Seltzer water( pink apple &l emon) amazingly refreshing. I would say, .. the frontend cashiers all looked sad and weren't cordial. Maybe cause it was a semi-gloomy Saturday and no felt like working, but try and fake it to you make it. Ciao for now! read more

Lucky grocery store is my go to grocery store. It has great quality meats and produce, a nice selection of wines, a more mainstream bakery and a good dairy section. The thing I like most about Lucky's are their sales. They have the $5.00per item if you buy 5 packages of meats. The meats are wonderful! Especially their tri tip , where it periodically goes on sale. The store sometimes has long lines but usually has everything in stock. I tend to go to the Lucky Store at the corner of Trancas and Jefferson and the staff is generally polite and helpful. read more

Usually don't do reviews but since this happened I cannot stop thinking about it. Came in last week for a quick food run for dinner and as I was checking out at the self checkout a young guy working the self checkout was being harassed by an employee, short, heavier older lady with glasses. He came to help us with our self checkout and she proceeded to tell him "why are you walking around do something, I'm so tired of seeing you do nothing" poor guy was so embarrassed and you can tell he was trying so hard to not entertain it as she kept telling him stuff. Once he built the courage to defend himself in which he stated this wasn't the first time she has harassed him she got extremely offended and said "I'm done let's go to the back now" I needed help so I asked him for help to deescalate the situation. I had money on my card and wanted to use half on that one and half on the other one. He didn't know how to so he asked her for help. She saw us standing there and knew we needed help and completely ignored him and turned around and just laughed at us. DISGUSTING! Been coming here since I was a baby and now in my late 20's and will never come back. This whole interaction was so nasty and sadly really common amongst those type of jobs. Definitely need to have a meeting or even a training day with your employees and reintroduce harassment at work and create some consequences. read more

My 3 year old saved all her coins for months to take her best cousin on a date. When the big day came this cashier came out from behind the register and counted out her money to her. My daughter had the best saving money experience! Thank you! My only regret was not getting the cashier's name! read more

I do like shopping at Lucky and everything but this one thing is fine...Their meat. I don't want to say everything they have looks old, but it's a really good majority of their selection. The actual meat/seafood counter selection doesn't look bad. But anything packaged looks like it's getting brown so I just don't buy meat there. I just went there to pick groceries up for someone. She wanted a smoke house chicken. I went to the counter where they are. There were not but there was a young woman taking some out. I stood there for five minutes. She did not acknowledge me at all. I asked another gal that was not behind the counter. She asked her. Can she have a smoke house chicken. The woman behind the counter said. I don't know what I have. I said maybe we can get someone that knows. The woman helping me said yo her you have some right there. The woman behind the counter said well you are going to wait at least ten minutes. I walked away and had to give the lady a different kind of chicken. She was very rude. read more

My go to store, let me explain why. I agree with those who say it's not the cheapest, sure Walmart is cheaper but dirtier and so crazy! Can't deal with that nonsense on a daily basis. Here I can go in and out in a jiffy none of those crazy lines, that's worth an extra penny. The location is perfect, safe to walk in, plenty lit and I can always find close parking. The staff is so helpful they always have a smile on their face, they go out of their way to help you find an item. The store is clean and easy to navigate. They have a wide selection of ethnic food. With a Chase bank right inside the store I have a one stop store. I recommend this store it has bike racks and it's children friendly with great staff, you just can't go wrong. I love this store... best service without a doubt here in Napa. It starts from the top with Mgr. Randy along with a few of my favorite cashiers, Cathi, Barb, Kathy, Ron and many more. There are workers in each shopping isle that help myself and my twins almost daily. I will support Lucky's over our Safeway from this day on. Safeway is closer to my home, and may be more convenient regarding gas and other shopping options, but service means everything to me. Safeway had 9 shoppers each in 2 lines yesterday, and did not open up another...Lucky had three in 2 lines after I left Safeway, and opened up two more within one minute. Great job and thank you! I bought a package of 18 eggs at this store yesterday (among other things). Had to walk back to the dairy to get a half and half that wasn't leaking (no, the grocery bagger didn't offer to do it), and when I got back to the register they had my groceries scanned and bagged. Got home, and 10 of my 18 eggs are broken!!! So not cool, especially at a time when going to the store is such an undertaking! Very disappointed!! read more

My only outing today was getting the mail & getting groceries. My first time at this Lucky's grocery store on California Boulevard. I like how bright it is inside. I also like all the space in the aisles and around the different stations; such as bakery area, Dairy area, meat - poultry area, and produce section. I've noticed that many stores pack the aisles with so many things for sale, that you hardly can get two carts down the aisle! So I really appreciate all the space for the grocery shoppers to move in. read more

I've been coming here for the past3 years since living in Napa. Staff is friendly and store is usually quite neat. The staff has been very helpful if you can't find something. 2 of their cashiers have worked there for about the whole time i've been coming here. Lucky was the grocery store I went to when I first moved here. It was within short walking distance... and at the time, it was an Albertson's. This is a place to shop for their sales, and with some items, they're overpriced. Fresh&Easy as well as Trader Joe's tend to have better deals. The service is friendly... and currently they're saddled with a "free knife" promotion. It's relatively easy to get local products. It's an OK place. read more

I believe this is the largest supermarket in Napa. It does not look it from the outside and you may not realize it if you are visiting from a bigger city. The advantage is you can find everything you need. It is well stocked including ethnic ingredients, sundries, housewares, healthcare, flowers, gift cards, etc. I like the store layout and bright lighting and large space despite the lack of decor. Staff have treated me well and have been helpful. I can avoid the crowds at other markets by going here on weekdays. After the closing of Vallergas, this is a good option to have. read more

We went like at 8:30 and no one helped us get a cake how hard is it to get a box and the cake inside and get the price of the cake and the lady said she was off the clock but she was still around the store. I live a few minutes away from this store so it makes sense I would visit this Lucky often. There is also a Safeway very near as well. I will admit to shopping at Lucky because of it's deals that no other grocery store offers, as yet. I go because I get discounts on gas based on how much I spend at the store. The gas station they have the deal with is a little bit out of my way but I will drive there after spending enough on groceries to make it worth my while. I collect the stamps they started to offer in November for cookware, I did that last year and got some really nice pieces! I like going to luckys because its right next to my house, Making it super convenient. However only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of customer service. Theres this lady that works there mainly in the self check out register, she always looks like she is in a bad mood,(I didn't take my time to learn her name just like she doesn't take her time to listen to the customers but I think her name was Brenda but I could be wrong). Every time I try asking her a question she shuts me down with " I don't know oh don't know. So I respond to her with, " I haven't even asked you my question yet, you don't even know what Im going to ask you, let me finish. So anyways today she ended up sending me to another register, had to wait in line again. The lady on this register Laura was polite and courteous, listened to me and was like yes not a problem. She made me feel less stupid. Thank you Laura! All I wanted was a 32 oz juice container so I could fill it up with freshly squeezed orange juice, You were out so Laura let me use two 16oz containers for the price of a 32oz. For some reason self check out lady couldn't help me, its not like I asked her to squeeze my juice... Anyways with that being said there is a wonderful person that works there, Barbara. Let's face it a store is a store and they all sell the same products, but this market is batting a thousand! The produce department is every bit as good as Raley's and Safeway only less expensive. The full service deli is far superior to Raley's in freshness, quality and pricing and doesn't leave rotting produce in the deli display as Raley's has done in the past. The meat and seafood department is top notch and hard to beat in every aspect, along with the dairy case and food aisles the store is kept clean and well stocked at all times, a real pleasure to shop in. But the best thing this store has going for it are its employees! The produce folks are very professional and knowledgeable, the butchers are helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to get me exactly the cut of meat I'm looking for. And the best of the best, the one that takes a 4 star market to a 5 star shopping experience is your top check stand clerk, I won't give her name as I wouldn't want to embarrass her. I shop this store 3 to 5 times a week and always look forward to returning. read more

The pharmacy in this store is the best in town! The staff is kind and extremely helpful and has saved the day on more than one occasion. The hours are also very convenient. While waiting for my prescriptions to be refilled I typically go grocery shopping. Lucky's has tons of gluten free options and blue labels indicating gluten free products. The one thing they don't have is fresh gluten free bread. There are frozen GF bread options however when GF bread defrosts it has the texture of a sponge. Still hoping they will eventually start carrying fresh Gluten free bread brands such as Udi's. Overall it's a great store to shop in with the best pharmacy in town! read more

I have shopped at lucky supermarket for years. There's a check or their name Ron, he flirts inappropriately with women who are in his line. One day I did not respond to his flirtatious behavior, since that day he has been rude inconsiderate and anything but a good representative for the store that he works for. I find that to be a form of sexual harassment, because if I had received and responded to his flirtatious behavior he wouldn't be so rude and mean to me. What's worse I brought it to the attention of his manager Randy I told Randy I thought he should apologize to me. And that it's not my responsibility to wonder or worry if the checker is going to be kind to me were nice to me, His behavior is not my responsibility. I continue to shop there because it's the closest grocery store to my home and it's convenient and I don't go on his line at all costs. I know that I'm not the only woman that he has flirted with and I'm asking anyone Who has The same experience with this particular checker to come forward and complain. We had a morning kayak ride so I called 3 times to try to order sandwiches. No answer at the deli. So I ended up going in on the way to the lake. One deli person was totally ignoring me while discussing when the chicken would be ready with 2 other girls. I waited 10 minutes before she took my order for 2 sandwiches. I mentioned to the manager that I called 3 times and she argued with me saying someone is always here...BS. When we got to the lake she made me write sandwich! I thinks she did this on purpose. I wasted the gas to take the sandwich back to get what I ordered. It wasn't Annie, she always gets my order right. But I'm going to BV market in the future. read more
