Jian bing, Chinese crepes, are $6 for 1 or $10 for 2, and that includes a cup of soy milk per jian bing bought.
For those of you who don't know, jian bing are traditionally buckwheat crepes with an egg cracked into the crepe and kinda scrambled onto it while it's cooking, then filled with either deep fried dough fritter or something akin to a giant deep fried wonton crisp, sauced with sweet bean paste and hot sauce, and garnished with cilantro and green onions before being wrapped up like a taco, then folded in half. Something like that. Savory and just a bit sweet, it's delicious and filling.
We got the version with the wonton crisp and the wonton crisp was super crispy, even an hour after we bought it. They also weren't super heavy handed with the sauce, which I appreciated. Will definitely get again. read more
