Chicken was so moist and tasty! Probably my new favorite item from here. - Pear Salad: this was okay but nothing special - Flora (Green tea, hibiscus, lychee, rose sugar): would not order this again...very bland and didn't even taste like green tea lol. The only lychee flavour was the one piece of lychee fruit Service was friendly, but nothing special

Came here on a Thursday night and it was quite busy for a weeknight. The atmosphere was nice but…read morethe service was quite poor. Our server only came twice, which was when we first arrived and sat down and when we paid for the bill. She actually never came during the whole time we were there and never checked on us. Given the price range of this place, I'm surprised at the lack of and poor service. We waited quite some time before having to wave just a random waitress to come and take our order and we had to keep waving for random servers to help us fill our water and get the menu to order a dessert. We were also there to celebrate a birthday and informed the restaurant about it when we made the reservation. We were told that for birthdays, there's a complimentary dessert or if we order one, they could write "happy birthday" on the plate. After being seated, we reminded our server about this (the one who never showed up until bill time), and not only did we not receive any complimentary anything, but there was no "happy birthday" written on our dessert that we ordered and paid for. I think that is quite unacceptable given what we were told and we also reminded them upon being seated. What kind of service is this? This is pure ignorance of customers' requests and lack of follow through of their own restaurant policy about complimentary dish for birthday celebrations. In terms of food, we ordered the following: Wagyu Beef Siu Mai, Handmade Lobster Wontons, Crispy Broccoli, Crab Truffle Chawanmushi, and Black Sesame & Tofu Baked Alaska. We wanted to get the Shrimp & Scallop Toast but was told that it was not available so that was a bit disappointing too. Overall, all the food tasted pretty good and were aesthetically presentable. However, given the price point, I wouldn't say they tasted exceptionally outstanding. None of them were so special to a point that I'd feel like I must come back for that particular dish again. Overall a mediocre experience with pretty food that tasted decently palatable but with very poor (or lack of) service.

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.

My timing to drop by Kiu after an afternoon matinee at Cineplex was also messed up. Kiu was always closed after the movie was over. All those weird scheduling issues went away when I attended a Yelp event last December. We got to enjoy more traditional Japanese offerings. Kiu wanted a bit of a change from being known as the ramen place. This eatery is on the second floor with Cineplex, GoodLife Fitness, and more. You can get here by escalator or elevator. The Yelp event had the best sashimi. I sampled scallops, shrimp, and deep-fried shrimp heads. I also enjoyed proteins. They included New Zealand lamb, amazu chicken, and calamari. This eatery also had sushi. The torched sushi was especially excellent. I still haven't had ramen here. Someday, I will! Recently, during Lunar New Year, I was invited to my friend's place for dinner. I brought a dish. She brought a Kiu platter. It had something like thirty pieces of sashimi. It was chef's choice with the varieties. Everything was exceptionally fresh and yummy. I'm drooling reminiscing about how good the sashimi was. It was nice to know that you can still get takeout from this restaurant. I got the impression that the owners wanted more folks to enjoy the experience at their eatery. It was still special devouring amazing sashimi at my friend's place. There are individual gender-neutral washroom stalls in this eatery. Each one was wheelchair-accessible. I appreciated the mouthwash and toothpicks in the one that I used. It was clean and felt fancy. It's a wonderful restaurant. There are items at various prices to suit your budget. I hope to get ramen one of these days, but I bet that I'll want the sushi and sashimi again! (42)

We were then told that the business will be going through a rebrand with a new name and new menu offerings. For the moment the only thing that has changed is the menu. The exterior and interior is exactly the same. Flavours are very Asian fusion with things like kimchi fried rice and bi bim bap but there are also more mainstream items such as Rigatoni Alfredo with chicken and short rib Benedict. Flavours are still good with decent portions. We were checked on several times so service was good. What was a miss was how the food came out of the kitchen. Food came out sporadically with the last dish a full 10 minutes after the first leaving that person sitting and waiting while everyone else ate. This is still a very popular place. It was almost full for a Monday lunch.

We also ordered a kid meal, included main dish as our choice of deep fried Fish, drink as Lychee Juice and the dessert as Mango Ice Cream. It's a good option if you're looking for something filling without spending too much. Since this is the "special" lunch menu, it is noticeably smaller compared to their regular lunch menu, which is $28.99. You're probably looking at around five options per category at best, and some sections only had two choices. That said, the core sushi and rolls had the most variety, which worked out fine for us since that's mainly what we were there for anyway. In terms of quality, it was pretty much what you'd expect from an AYCE spot, but maybe we got lucky that day because the salmon was actually better than most places. Definitely one of the better bites of the meal. There's also a buffet-style salad and dessert table, so it was great when you just want a little bit of everything without the fear of wasting food. Overall, a solid lunch option in Markham if you're craving sushi and don't mind a smaller menu in exchange for the lower price.

Despite seated near the door, it was well insulated and I never felt cold. The seating is still bar-like, with metal chairs over something more comfortable. The menu offers both HK-style cafe dishes and western seafood-oriented dishes. Staff appears to understand limited Chinese, and they double checked what our group ordered for drinks. I decided to go for the baked seafood spaghetti with cold Dutch tea (both hot and cold drinks are at the same price!). The presentation was a bit messy but flavourful. I wish the staff gave extra plate for me to place the empty oyster and clam shell rather than pushing them to the edge of my plate. The staff never gave us any water until we asked. The good thing is, they never rushed us to pay and our group chatted for a long time. Price wise, it was excellent. Service wise, could be improved.

You can have it to-go as well, which I seem to see it's like that most of the time. The owner, Peter, is a very nice guy. He explains all the items very clearly, provides good recommendation and makes sure you feel welcomed and enjoys the food. Food This place specializes cupbop - which actually is a classic staple street style food in Korean. It's kind of like a bibimbap, something you add together and mix it up. But cupbop usually also have macaroni salad, stir fried kimchi and a choice of protein like spam, pork, beef. It is a very hearty bowl, definitely good portion size and filling. And it's only $12.99 - that's pretty affordable in this current economy. Besides cupbop, they have street style Korean snacks like their toast, skewers and I think they started doing tteokbokki too. Honestly, this is a small business that deserves more recognition and it is very convenient for kids across the school and anybody in the neighbourhood.
