I had this last night and I was really disappointed with the way they handled the food and service. I went to order but had question and there was no one in sight. My husband told me to just use the machine they had to order. So I did. I then saw a lady from behind me walk in. She was eating at the table behind me with her husband and I'm guessing was the owner. She walked in picking at her teeth, grabbed a taco shell with the other hand (no gloves and didn't wash her hands and still picking her teeth with the other hand) and started to prepare my food. I've worked handling food and I can also use my common sense that she should at least wash her hands but she did not. I stopped her and asked to please just give me a refund. Her husband came to help me from the table where he was eating and he refused to refund me. He said "I'll just make your food myself" and he then didn't wash his hands but he did put on gloves. I'd also like to add they never apologize, we're not friendly at all nor did they seem like they felt they made a mistake. They seemed more annoyed that I even showed concern. I came to Haven city market with my friend for dinner yesterday and two recommended this place. I've had sushi burritos before but never sushi tacos. I got one eel sushi taco and one ahi tuna sushi taco. My food was ready fairly quickly and the fish was good quality. I was really looking forward to the sushi taco when I found out that they have it there. I had it somewhere else in the past and it was awesome. I got the hidden dragon and the salmon taco, which are quite pricy since it's about $9 each. I ordered through the machine and the food came out within 10 min. I guess I should've read the reviews before I decided to order the salmon sushi taco. It's bland. There's salmon on top, seaweed salad in the middle and rice at the bottom. They added spicy mayo on top but I don't really taste it. I'm not sure if it'll elevate the taco if they add rice vinegar to the sushi and uses a difference sauce. As far as the hidden dragon, it has tempura shrimp on top, spicy tuna in the middle with shreds of cucumber and rice at the bottom. Again, it tastes mostly bland. I think it may be better if they only use the eel sauce on top of the tempura. As far as the spicy tuna, it's good that they give a good chunk but something about the texture was odd. I ate the food within 5 min after I received it since I didn't want the taco shell to get soft and ruined the experience. But for some reason, within 30 min after I finished eating, I got a minor stomachache. The California crunch burrito was like a big California roll and had plenty of imitation crab and like a slightly spicy mayo plus some savory fried onions. Could've used more avocado tho. The texture was a little interesting that combines crunch and poke into one bite. However, as someone who has a small mouth, the crunch made it hard to eat and not everything in the taco got into my mouth. Love the concept of sushi taco! Ever since I found out there was a Haven City Market in West Covina, I've been getting it. I tried other restaurants, but this is a unique idea that I can't find in other places. The stall is located in the back of the main entrance and is between the pupusa and hainan chicken businesses. My favorite is getting the spicy tuna taco combo since it is easier to eat, but the salmon taco is also good. I like how they give you just the right amount of food for the combo, that lets you still have room for desserts and drinks. It is a little above average price, but it is sushi. Service is average, since you can just self-order from a kiosk for your food. The best part is they have a Taco Tuesday deal, so it was nice of the store owner to let me know about it since I enjoy their sushi taco. I was not expecting how light the fried nori was. It wasn't greasy or oily to the touch. That was impressive. I'm going to have to figure out how they make it that way. Came here for lunch. It's located on the huge food court... It's a bit pricy, but the roll is fried with rice paper which makes it soooo fresh and crispy. Highly recommend.... Food: The tacos are made of a seaweed or wonton type shell packing a nice crunch when you bite. We got the eel tacos. Inside was eel, rice, and some veggies. Flavor was delicious. A little bit more sauce would make this dish great. The taco plate came with rice and seaweed salad. The side dishes with oden was a 5/5. Tastes like you are eating a mini hot pot. My cousin and I came here for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon at Haven City West Co. We decided to give it a try after finding out that Lucky Tacoshi previously existed in Century City Mall. The modern ambiance of this presumably innovative fusion taco/burrito stand fits well with the tropical theme of Haven City. Due to the crew's busyness, we had to order using their self-order kiosk in front. I ordered their Vegan Sushi Burrito, but unfortunately it did not have an option to omit certain unwanted ingredients like cucumber. (I personally don't eat cucumbers.) Please find a way to add an option for special instructions such as "no cucumbers please on my sushi burrito". Wait, the worst is yet to come. Oh no! We waited for approximately 20-25 minutes before our orders were completed. I even went to the restroom in between those minutes and it was still not ready. We noticed that the crew and presumably the manager were mainly prioritizing the poke orders. We overheard the crew calling the numbers of the poke orders and asked the poke customers on their preferred sauce. We felt like they were operating more like a poke stand instead of a sushi taco/burrito stand. I understand the busyness during lunch, but please find a more efficient strategy to equally prioritize all orders and not just poke bowls. My cousin had to approach the presumed manager who looked irrate when we only needed to follow-up on our orders. They finally handed over our orders, but he still seemed irritated when we requested for some soy sauce, chopsticks and napkins. Please don't put your irritation towards customers who simply needed to follow-up and obtain certain utensils and condiments for purchased food. The sushiritto was okay and could be better, especially if I had the option to omit cucumber before it was rolled. I had to use the requested chopsticks to unroll the sushiritto and completely remove the julienned cucumber. I really hope Lucky Tacoshi's new chapter at Haven City would be improved by offering better and more professional customer service and prioritizing all orders equally despite any rushes during lunch and dinner. read more
