Good quality ingredients, usually I get spicy tuna, tofu, and shrimp. All are pretty fresh tasting. My favorite part are the variety of toppings and the portion size is amazing! Service is nice. There's a couple of tables inside. Parking can be hard to find during Friday nights or weekends because of the food hall next door. read more

I have been to this poke place many times and each time, I am shocked by their portion sizes! I get a small bowl with Scallop and Salmon and it's enough for two meals. Their normal scoops of fish are double any other poke place that I've been to! The service here is quick and efficient, I have always been greeted by friendly staff whenever I eat here. The restaurant itself is usually pretty empty so it's easy to find a table if you choose to eat there. read more

The place is located in the same plaza as haven city market west co. I ordered online and the process was easy and fast. Upon entering the place was really clean and the staff were busy making orders and were also attentive. I got the 3 scoop and the food was fresh and packed with toppings! I have had The Poke Place bookmarked for a while.I finally stopped by to try it. The place is very clean, cozy and spacious. They have indoor seating. The menu includes different sizes of poke bowl; small size with two scoops of protein, medium size with three scoops of protein, and large size with four scoops of protein. They have fresh and delicious varieties of protein, toppings and sauces. We got large size with four scoops of protein with half sushi rice and half salad base. The scoops were very generous and the toppings too. The poke was fresh, very flavorful, and huge. The staff were were very nice. The service was outstanding. We really had an awesome experience at The poke place. Definitely, I will be back and it will be my go- to poke place. read more

Also missed one of the order's toppings...so disappointed:( how could you get all those good reviews?? I want to ask if the chef knows how to cook the brown rice. Large portions no matter which size you get! That's what the Poke Place offers in terms of their Poke Bowls. You definitely get bang for your buck here. Honestly, I feel like you could probably split a bowl into two meals if you can't eat much. The service here is always friendly, and they help you immediately if there is no line. The restaurant itself is pretty clean, spacious, and with a few tables should you decide to dine in. There's plenty of choices from different fish, bowl bases, veggies, sauces, and final seasonings. They give a lot of food in a serving. Small is 14 bucks for 2 scoops, medium is 17 bucks for 3 scoops. The base is all the same amount, you get an extra scoop the more you pay. Lots of fish and topping selection. All looks good & taste fresh. They serve in to-go cardboard container. I prefer the regular bowl style but they scatter the topping more (wider area) so it looks nice. This poke place is located in the old HK plaza, now Haven food hall. Parking is ok on weekday lunch. read more

Good and quick service. They offer two salmon, two tuna, as well as two crab options. One plain and the other marinaded. They also have shrimp and some other options. They have all the topping and sauces. The food was solid and the service was too! The plaza has lots of parking. They have a few tables inside if you choose to dine-in. I was looking for a new poke spot because I've been to almost every single one in the Fullerton/Brea area. All of my favorite spots over the years have gone downhill so I found this place! It was quite the drive, as it took just over 35 minutes but I'll go out for a drive for great food! Here's what I ordered: **Large Bowl: For my base, I opted out for white rice. For my complimentary scoop, I went with regular crab meat. The large came with 4 scoops of protein so I went with 1 scoop of salmon, 1 scoop of tuna, and 2 scoops of scallops. For my sauce, I went with a light dressing of yuzu ponzu. For my toppings, I got green onion, white onion, masago, seaweed salad, edamame, cucumber, wasabi, ginger, cilantro, jalapeno, pickled carrots, and pickled radish. Everything from the fish to the toppings were extremely fresh and delicious! (5/5) I generally don't lather my poke bowls with sauces. I initially asked if they offered sesame oil by itself because I noticed that their house sauce was a mixture of soy and sesame oil but they did not. This is the first time I've seen at a poke bowl spot not offering sesame oil by itself. Also, if you're working in the restaurant business and are sick, you should not be working that day or at least wear a mask/face shield. The guy working kept coughing into his wrist and arm but worst part was that most of the toppings were scooped up with his hands instead of tongs or other utensils. Gloves were used but the way that this place just cross contaminates with each order was a little unsettling. While everything was fresh and delicious, the way that the employee handled my bowl while being sick was unacceptable. The guy handling my bowls didn't even bother to apologize about him coughing up a storm. Ew, that's nasty. This would've been my favorite poke spot of all-time but I will not be returning. read more

Good portion to share for 2 people! You start with selecting your base which you could select 1/2 and 1/2 or full of brown rice, white rice, or salad. For protein, I love their fresh salmon, shoyu salmon, and spicy tuna mixed with wasabi Mayo. Toppings included cucumber, corn, pineapple, seaweed, green onions, masago, and ginger. Dude. My poke bowl was amazing. I got the large. It was like $20 for 4 protein, all the toppings and whatever. There was only one guy working so it was kinda like a one man band but also not his fault. He was loving moving as fast as the person could decide what the heck they wanted in their bowl lol. The place is super clean it was a nice lunch to have with my friends that were visiting from NorCal on their way home. We tried a lot of the protein choices and they seemed mostly fresh. The prices for poke are always around this price range, just wish portion sizes would align with it. You pick your base choice (rice, greens, or both), 6 different protein to choose from tuna, salmon, or scallops, 7 different kinds of veggies, and I think 4 or 5 sauces. It's like a chipotle but this is Hawaiian style with fishes!! I actually like this poke place the most because of their servings and freshness on the tuna, salmon, and shrimp. PRO-TIP: They currently have a 20% off deal as a part of their opening. They have a location in Rancho Cucuamungus and you can also order online for pick up too. It's located in the plaza where GW Market is and there's a decent amount of parking (for now as the new Haven City Market hasn't opened yet). When I was there there were 2 workers helping customers, someone enjoying their dinner, and seemed like a small decent "dinner rush". I got the medium size poke bowl. For medium size, you get 3 scoops of protein. I got the: Hawaiian Spicy Tuna Cube, Salmon, and Seared Albacore. The Hawaiian spicy tuna does have a nice subtle kick that amps up as you eat more of your dish. Seared albacore isn't like what you would get from a sushi place to be honest, it's slightly cooked edges instead of a nice char to it. Not bad though. You can never go wrong with the standard salmon too. I do have to note though, that I did get a fishy taste throughout the poke bowl randomly so maybe it was the albacore? But it doesn't take away too much from the meal over all. For the base, I just got plain old white rice as I knew the protein and sauce choices will add enough flavor to my order. For sauces I got their house TPP spicy sauce which adds more to the spiciness of the Hawaiian Spicy Tuna, I got the smoky mustard sesame on the side which is a unique sauce flavor I haven't seen at any other poke place. It isn't sour like standard mustard and it truly has the smoky taste as described on the menu. What's unique about this place is that you can also add a free scoop of regular or spicy imitation crab meat at no extra cost, there's unique sauces like the mustard sesame I mentioned earlier as well as garlic miso and wasabi lime miso. For extra toppings, I got the edamame, sweet corn, seaweed salad, all of the dried toppings (sesame, furikake, fried onions, etc), and masago. I didn't get these toppings, but I noticed that it's not something generally offered at other poke places such as kale, pickled carrots, and pineapple. A medium is more than enough for me to share with my younger brother, to the point where my bro was like, "did you even eat much of this?", so the portion size is pretty good. I think my only qualm was that the worker there could not for his life answer any of my questions. When I asked for recommendations, what would taste good with this protein, if adding in sauce would make the overall dish too salty, he was at a loss. Not sure if a new worker or still being trained, but I'm hoping he gets a handle of the foods here as time goes on. Solid poke place overall, take advantage of that 20% off when you still can! read more

I have been getting poke here many times a month after finding out about this place. The portions are well scooped and displayed so nicely! The service is great! If I forget about imitation crab, they always make sure to ask. The parking gets packed around the poke area with compact parking, but it should not be too hard finding a spot. Once the Haven City opens up, it may be harder to find a parking spot. Overall, I'll be coming by a lot to grab poke! read more

Came here about 2 weeks ago and today; and both times it was really delicious! What I really like about it is they have picked carrots and radish, as well as gochujang sauce! My girlfriend and I decided to finally try this place after passing by it all the time and, wow, we were really missing out. The value from this place is really outstanding, as you get a really good amount of decent quality fish with unlimited toppings (minus avocado, which is just a little extra). We really loved the Shoyu Salmon and Spicy Hawaiian Tuna. Options were plentiful as well. I did half sushi rice and half salad to cut back on carbs, and just being able to load up on the various vegetable toppings made the entire bowl feel really well balanced and satisfying. Service was fast and friendly as they explained their options and portions to us. They accommodated our requests for sauces on the side no problem (and offered us additional sauces for no extra charge). We'll absolutely be back. The value was just a significant step up over lots of Poke restaurants I've been to. Don't sleep on this place! read more

We have been coming here for a few months now and it is our absolute favorite poke place ever!! We come here instead of our prior normal usual poke spot! Their prices are high but reasonable for the amount of food that you get, and the fish is always super fresh! The staff is nice too but it's usually pretty slow so if there's a line it may take a little bit. The place itself is pretty small but it does have a couple of seats to enjoy your food there if you'd like to, but right outside is Haven City where there's plenty of outdoor seating! read more

I ordered here from DoorDash on a whim and was super happy with the quality of fish. The spicy ground tuna, Hawaiian marinated tuna, and seared albacore were all extremely fresh and tasty. No off flavors or fishiness. In addition, they offer basically EVERY possible poké topping or mix-in you can think of. I got nearly all of them. The ginger and masago were such nice surprises and made welcome additions to my bowl. The Poke Place also has the option of sushi rice as a base, which I took advantage of! I got 3 scoops of salmon with all the toppings on half rice and half salad. 3 scoops is more than enough for me. The salmon tasted salmon and the chucks are decent sized. The container was filled to the rim so you are definitely get your money's worth in this economy. Overall, I enjoy led my poki bowl and would definitely come back again for sure. read more

been here 3 times and all the times it's been superb! not really crowded but parking is a pain if you're coming on a weekend (not due to the restaurant, but the plaza itself), however you can find a parking spot and walk if anything. the price is affordable but they do give you A LOT. one time i ordered a large bowl and it can probably feed 3 people (2 people overly full). they have a lot of different kinds of fish and sauces as well (both spicy and regular imitation crab meat, regular salmon and shoyu salmon, spicy hawaiian tuna, spicy ground tuna, and regular tuna) it's a lot and very worth it. definitely recommend! read more

Stopped in to pick up a to go order of Poke. First time here and we were served right away. The store is new, next to Haven City Market and very clean inside. I had a 3 scoop, with rice base. My wife ordered a 2 scoop with salad base. After getting home we tried our poke bowl's and the fish was very fresh and toppings as well. Unfortunately, the salad in my wife's order was not fresh. Some of the pieces were brown and spoiled. She ended up picking out most of the salad. At 13.95 i would expect fresh salad. Not sure if i will return here. read more

super affordable spot just outside the haven!! the poke place has amazing value for the complex it's in, with a small bowl ending up at around $16 dollars while not being small at all! i always end up with leftover and had to make my way back the next week bc it was just that good! great spot for a yap sesh since it's a lot less expensive, crowded, and overstimulating, than the main center. service is also quick and efficient with staff who give excellent portions and thoroughly combine the toppings. probably one of the most streamlined shops i've seen in the area if i'm being honest. the poke itself was also SO GOOD!!!! they have an abundance of options so you can be as adventurous as you want with your choices plus the spicy sauces are ACTUALLY spicy!!!! overall a great place for some healthier options to cool off with on a hot day :) read more

I normally order poke from here via grubhub, and I have nothing but great things to say about this place, truly. Most poke places make you spend quite a bit of money for the smallest portions of fish. Here, the small is big, and the portions of fish are FANTASTIC. Every time I come here, the poke bowls I recieve are well worth the money I pay - which is why it is now my go-to place. The fish and ingredients are fresh, the sauces are delicious, and I always get exactly what I want. The service there is very reliable and guaranteed to give you exactly what you are asking for! As far as ambiance - I haven't been INSIDE this place, but I've got the countless grubhub receipts to prove I eat here often. The food was pretty good, but I don't think my family enjoyed the short ribs very much as they thought it was dry. I think the best thing was the chicken Katsu. It was crisp and tasty. The Katsu sauce tasted kind of watered down which I didn't prefer.

Its crust faintly tasted buttery. I also loved the macaroni salad. This macaroni salad felt clean and peppery. Tasty! Unfortunately, as mentioned, the rice tasted old and mushy. It also had many black markings among its grains. Eventually, I tossed the rice into the trash can. Concerning ambiance, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an ugly location. Its outside looks worn down and poorly maintained. Although its interior has clean tables, the interior felt musty and humid. No music plays; rather, one lone flat screen television played aloud. Also, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) felt gloomy with its walls' fading colors and its lingering bits of dust. Overall, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is not awful. It serves big portions at affordable prices. The ambiance & service is barebones, but some of its food is prepared well. At that point, I was shocked by how rude and unprofessional the interaction had become. That I decided not to place my order. Before I could even finish cancelling, he hung up on me. This used to be my go-to spot for Hawaiian food and sushi, but after this experience, I won't be returning. Customer service matters, and there is no reason for a customer to be treated this way over a simple misunderstanding about wording of a menu item. I wpuld have loved to have had a conversation wirh Ms Nova Mendoza herself in person to compliment her on the amazing food but also to tell her that the staff needed further training im hospitality, customer care, and soft skills , it is their behavior and conduct which will bring this restaurant down. The Poke Place in West Covina is a gem for fresh, generous portions of poke! The fish is always fresh, the toppings are plentiful, and you definitely get your money's worth. The staff is warm, friendly, and quick to get your order out, making it a pleasant experience from start to finish. The location is spacious with plenty of seating, so it's a nice spot to enjoy your meal without feeling cramped. My only complaint is the carton box they serve the poke in -- while it's eco-friendly, it tends to seep through and can get a bit messy if you're eating in. That small detail aside, this place is absolutely worth visiting for a satisfying poke fix!
