Yikes I think it's a fish bone found in my food, be careful! This is depressing

Back here again, because just love this place!! Service always amazing, portions enormous for the price. Fresh food! Sadly! Lost 2 stars because I almost swallowed a sharp object found in my food, I think it might be a fish bone, so be careful and ensure to chew in small bites. Posted a pic of what I found.

I have been to this poke place many times and each time, I am shocked by their portion sizes! I get a small bowl with Scallop and Salmon and it's enough for two meals. Their normal scoops of fish are double any other poke place that I've been to! The service here is quick and efficient, I have always been greeted by friendly staff whenever I eat here. The restaurant itself is usually pretty empty so it's easy to find a table if you choose to eat there.

The place is located in the same plaza as haven city market west co. I ordered online and the process was easy and fast. Upon entering the place was really clean and the staff were busy making orders and were also attentive. I got the 3 scoop and the food was fresh and packed with toppings! Sauces were also mixed in and give it a good flavor! Overall this is def my new poke spot!

I have had The Poke Place bookmarked for a while.I finally stopped by to try it. The place is very clean, cozy and spacious. They have indoor seating. The menu includes different sizes of poke bowl; small size with two scoops of protein, medium size with three scoops of protein, and large size with four scoops of protein. They have fresh and delicious varieties of protein, toppings and sauces. We got large size with four scoops of protein with half sushi rice and half salad base. The scoops were very generous and the toppings too. The poke was fresh, very flavorful, and huge. The staff were were very nice. The service was outstanding. We really had an awesome experience at The poke place. Definitely, I will be back and it will be my go- to poke place.

Music on the low side, 4 tables, serve yourself fountain drink machine, friendly staff and a whole lot of delicious fresh items to fill up your bowls. Great serving sizes and options and generous scoops. A definite keeper in the poke rotation.

Large portions no matter which size you get! That's what the Poke Place offers in terms of their Poke Bowls. You definitely get bang for your buck here. Honestly, I feel like you could probably split a bowl into two meals if you can't eat much. The service here is always friendly, and they help you immediately if there is no line. The restaurant itself is pretty clean, spacious, and with a few tables should you decide to dine in. There's plenty of choices from different fish, bowl bases, veggies, sauces, and final seasonings. Definitely give them a try if you're craving a delicious and healthier option of food.

They give a lot of food in a serving. Small is 14 bucks for 2 scoops, medium is 17 bucks for 3 scoops. The base is all the same amount, you get an extra scoop the more you pay. Lots of fish and topping selection. All looks good & taste fresh. They serve in to-go cardboard container. I prefer the regular bowl style but they scatter the topping more (wider area) so it looks nice. This poke place is located in the old HK plaza, now Haven food hall. Parking is ok on weekday lunch.

Good and quick service. They offer two salmon, two tuna, as well as two crab options. One plain and the other marinaded. They also have shrimp and some other options. They have all the topping and sauces. The food was solid and the service was too! The plaza has lots of parking. They have a few tables inside if you choose to dine-in. If you're in the mood for some poke in the area, I'd check this place out!

my go-to poke spot ! food is always fresh, I always get a small plate because they give such huge portions. service is usually fast but they do get heavy lunch rushes !! hawaiian spicy tuna is a must try !

I was looking for a new poke spot because I've been to almost every single one in the Fullerton/Brea area. All of my favorite spots over the years have gone downhill so I found this place! It was quite the drive, as it took just over 35 minutes but I'll go out for a drive for great food! Here's what I ordered: **Large Bowl: For my base, I opted out for white rice. For my complimentary scoop, I went with regular crab meat. The large came with 4 scoops of protein so I went with 1 scoop of salmon, 1 scoop of tuna, and 2 scoops of scallops. For my sauce, I went with a light dressing of yuzu ponzu. For my toppings, I got green onion, white onion, masago, seaweed salad, edamame, cucumber, wasabi, ginger, cilantro, jalapeno, pickled carrots, and pickled radish. Everything from the fish to the toppings were extremely fresh and delicious! (5/5) I generally don't lather my poke bowls with sauces. I initially asked if they offered sesame oil by itself because I noticed that their house sauce was a mixture of soy and sesame oil but they did not. This is the first time I've seen at a poke bowl spot not offering sesame oil by itself. Also, if you're working in the restaurant business and are sick, you should not be working that day or at least wear a mask/face shield. The guy working kept coughing into his wrist and arm but worst part was that most of the toppings were scooped up with his hands instead of tongs or other utensils. Gloves were used but the way that this place just cross contaminates with each order was a little unsettling. While everything was fresh and delicious, the way that the employee handled my bowl while being sick was unacceptable. The guy handling my bowls didn't even bother to apologize about him coughing up a storm. Ew, that's nasty. This would've been my favorite poke spot of all-time but I will not be returning.

My go-to poke place and I did love it especially the salmon, tuna, and sauces. The staff are nice and fill up the bowl a lot for just a small portion. Unfortunately at my recent visit I found some odd thing in my poke so sadly I will not be coming back due to this incident.

Fresh poke bowls and quick, friendly service. Small area to sit inside as well. Large bowl was around $20 but has 4 selections of protein and free toppings including imitation crab. Good portion to share for 2 people! You start with selecting your base which you could select 1/2 and 1/2 or full of brown rice, white rice, or salad. For protein, I love their fresh salmon, shoyu salmon, and spicy tuna mixed with wasabi Mayo. Toppings included cucumber, corn, pineapple, seaweed, green onions, masago, and ginger. They also had dry toppings like crispy onion flakes. Overall a solid quick poke place with a great variety of toppings and fresh fish.

Is the salmon farm raised or wild caught?

No one serves wild caught salmon in a regular poke place.

How long is the 20% going to last at the new West Covina location? I'm a regular at the Ranco location but I might make a trip out there to support the new location!

Hi the 20% will continue through the month of August. Thank you for your support.

This shopping center is full of eateries, one being Buffalo Wild Wings, so parking is REALLY hard to find. I had to loop around a couple times before I found a parking spot. Prices here are competitive with Ono. I ordered the beef & short ribs combo plate, BBQ Chicken plate, and the chicken Katsu plate. The food was pretty good, but I don't think my family enjoyed the short ribs very much as they thought it was dry. I think the best thing was the chicken Katsu. It was crisp and tasty. The Katsu sauce tasted kind of watered down which I didn't prefer.

It's enough to feed two people, and I can easily see it being an easy favorite for customers on a strict budget. Unfortunately, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) also serves mushy and gloopy rice. When I returned home, I dumped its old-tasting rice with black marking and lines into the trashcan. It's baffling how a business can mess up rice, but I attribute its poor rice quality and preparation as an attempt to save an extra buck. I arrived at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) on Tuesday (around 7:30PM). The location had a big fan, but its interior still felt humid and stuffy. L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) reminded me of a casually cleaned warehouse as its cardboard boxes laid about. Staff is terse and prompt. Staff also speaks English and Spanish. Staff appeared burnt out and fatigued. I ordered the Chicken Katsu ($11.99). It includes chicken katsu, macaroni salad, and rice. The food arrived in seven minutes. Very fast! As mentioned, the food is very large. Its portions are gigantic! The chicken katsu came thick and crisp. I enjoyed the chicken katsu's crisp outside and soft chicken. Its crust faintly tasted buttery. I also loved the macaroni salad. This macaroni salad felt clean and peppery. Tasty! Unfortunately, as mentioned, the rice tasted old and mushy. It also had many black markings among its grains. Eventually, I tossed the rice into the trash can. Concerning ambiance, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an ugly location. Its outside looks worn down and poorly maintained. Although its interior has clean tables, the interior felt musty and humid. No music plays; rather, one lone flat screen television played aloud. Also, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) felt gloomy with its walls' fading colors and its lingering bits of dust. Overall, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is not awful. It serves big portions at affordable prices. The ambiance & service is barebones, but some of its food is prepared well. If on a strict budget, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an option. 3.4 out of 5

I called to place a pickup order which I have done many times in the past with a sweet toned girl, but this time I was met with extremely rude customer service from the man who answered the phone. Instead of politely clarifying, he immediately became frustrated, raised his voice, and asked in an agitated tone what I wanted. I explained that I wanted the combo with BBQ chicken and sushi, but he continued speaking over me. I finally asked, "Do you not have a combo with BBQ chicken and sushi? Am I calling the Baldwin Park Aloha Hawaiian?" He confirmed that I was and then angrily corrected me, saying it was called a "special combo," not a "special combination." At that point, I was shocked by how rude and unprofessional the interaction had become. That I decided not to place my order. Before I could even finish cancelling, he hung up on me. This used to be my go-to spot for Hawaiian food and sushi, but after this experience, I won't be returning. Customer service matters, and there is no reason for a customer to be treated this way over a simple misunderstanding about wording of a menu item. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

I was bragging to my best friend about their food because we are foodie's and we love to eat. We were excited about what we were going to eat on Thursday, March 27 '26 and we had gotten there around 5:30. They close at 7 sp we had an hour and a half to eat. We ordered about 6 dishes --Pork Sinigang, Adobong Pusit, Bihon Guisado, Garlic Rice, Plain Rice, Crispy Pata , Ube Turon. When the orders came, the rice was so little, what they said was good for 2 people is actually only good for one. We asked for ice. They said they had none. not a big deal but honestly ice is a very important thing to have. There were no condiments on the table (patis , toyo, suka) etc which is common place in Filipino eateries. Around 6:30 we were being asked to finish our meal because they were "closing". Did they forget we ordered a bunch of stuff. If they are worried about their closing time, rhen please dont accept people an hour and a half before closing as you guys kmow Filipino food is not burgers and fries . You eat w little bit of everything slowly , its a cultural thing. We were again told two more times to hurry eating as they were closing. I was so shocked i coulf barely believe this kind of treatment. As a former caterer and hotel manager, we have never kicked anyone out of any establishment when they are still eating. You shut the door, you stop taking in customers but you always let the people still eating inside finish their meal, even if you had to stay behind for a bit. Another reason i took my best friend to dine rhere is because we were both so hungry and we dont do any cooking in our homes. My best friend paid for the meal --almost $150 , we decided against leaving a tip because the service was poor. The people working in the front had a less than acceptable demeanor, rushing us out of there we couldnt even finish eating. All in all, i felt embarassed in front of my best friend who treated me to the meal, when i had done nothing but brag about this place and their food non stop. I wpuld have loved to have had a conversation wirh Ms Nova Mendoza herself in person to compliment her on the amazing food but also to tell her that the staff needed further training im hospitality, customer care, and soft skills , it is their behavior and conduct which will bring this restaurant down. Please dont chase people out when they are eating. That was so poorly done.
