Then get on a ladder to clean grease duct over food area. Doesn't wash hands, dirty rag, prepare food again. NASTY cooks. Put gloves on dude! Checked this spot out using Yelp ratings to help us decide where to go as we're not from the area. We ordered several appetizers, burger, street tacos, curry chicken, and a brisket sandwich; a good mix to get a feel for the menu. At best the food was meh, for all the dishes, not one stood out as really good. For a restaurant rated at 4 stars we excepted it to be much better. So unfortunately, we did not have a good food experience with them; however, the service was friendly and prompt, and they have a clean casual atmosphere. Lucky 13 We have been on the lookout for a favorite place to have breakfast - this is NOT the place! We have had lunch here, and it was good, our experience with breakfast is another matter. Our coffee arrived lukewarm, my pineapple juice was not cold, my wife's grapefruit juice was watered down, and not cold. The omelets were cold and French toast tepid. All served on cold plates. My favorite pub to frequent. Great atmosphere and staff. The manager is a great guy. Best cheese curds in town that I've tried so far. My fiancé and I went on a date where went thrift store shopping. The rule was we picked outfits out for each other and then went out to eat. When we got there we were getting very strange looks. After we ordered, Cassandra asked our waitress if she liked her hat. The waitress started laughing and said yes. She asked what was going on, so we told her about the date. I was in Fargo and business and read reviews about this place - and it sounded like a good place to go. OVERALL, this place is below average. The bar/restaurant did have a nice atmosphere and seemed like a cool place to walk in to. Hostess had very little interest in sitting me - so I found an open spot at the bar. Bar staff was just as unfriendly- asked about beers on tap and if there was any local brewery...usually that gets people talking about there town and leads to suggestions- not this guy. Rudely gives me a menu and says beer list is in the back and walks away. Ordered a beer and a burger with loaded tots. Food was very ordinary- I'm not sure what the tot's were loaded with - but not good. It did had a dipping sauce that had some taste, but tots alone were blah. Burger was just ok - no great taste...just ok. All for over $23. I'm one and done with this place...hope you had a better experience. read more

Went to Lucky's 13 for Mother's Day Brunch. Everything was cold except for the frozen eclair that I had for desert, that happened to be warm. $27 for cold eggs, hashbrowns and a bbq porkchop was very disappointing. Neither the waiter or another worker we mentioned our dissatisfaction with seemed to care. We will never go back. I think more was spent on the flowers for decoration than the actual brunch menu. read more

It was lunch time and everyone was hungry!!! The choice was Lucky's 13 Pub. We were told the wait was almost an hour, but got a table in about 15 minutes. The decor is that of your typical pub/bar. We were there on a Saturday and they had bingo going on; although we didn't participate. The menu is diverse, with burger, sandwiches and breakfast foods. We finally decided on the Chivito sandwich and Apple French Toast. I picked the Chivito sandwich because it was something that I had never seen before. It has sliced beef, ham, egg, bacon, mozzarella, lettuce and olives. I read that and knew I had to have it! When it arrived, I was amazed! The portion was huge!!! When you get the sandwich, you have no idea what to do. You don't know if you should just hold it and take a giant bite or be kind and cut it down the middle and eat it in halves. I choose the take a giant bite!!! The first bite was fantastic! The mix of fried egg, beef, ham, bacon and olives is simply amazing. The flavors all mix together and the olives finish off each bite. The kicker is the fried egg, the running egg yolk mix into everything and create a glorious circus of flavor in your mouth. The onion rings were great and appear to be made to order. Crispy and flaky crust, can't go wrong. The Apple French Toast was also great. For only $9, you get a giant plate full of french toast and caramelized apples slices. The apple flavor with the pan fried french toast is a great classic mix. Something that is a tough to mess up and something that Lucky's nailed on the head. This is another place that I'd stop at again for another go at the menu. From reading other reviews, it sounds like others had a very different experience than me. I'm hoping for another great experience the next time I stop here. read more

Go here on Wednesdays, get their $5 wings and $3 tall glasses of beer, and feast happily. For that price, you get an extremely generous portion of meaty wings (I think there were 8 total) that were really good. Per the recommendation of our server, I had some of my wings tossed in the Sweet & Hot Chili sauce WITH the Cajun Dry Rub, where the others were tossed with the Sweet & Hot Chili sauce WITH the Buffalo, and although I was initially skeptical, the flavors were delicious! As a weirdo Ranch lover, I was a huuuuge fan of their homemade ranch dressing...so much so, that the server gave me a few extra containers of ranch to take home with my leftovers haha. I went for breakfast with some of my grandkids and everyone left happy. The food was great and the service was too despite a large group requiring extra attention in the back room. The kitchen, bar, and service staff adjusted well and I was content. The wild rice turkey soup was tasty, but it could have doubled for a turkey pie filling! Very rich. The half Reuben was great. Tons of corned beef that oozed juices with every bite. When we were planning our road trip, I checked Yelp for restaurants near our hotel, and Lucky's 13 Pub sounded like fun. We had a great time! My wife judges bars by their Cosmos, and she says theirs was awesome. And I was impressed with their Lucky IPA. We started with the stuffed mushrooms, and they were delicious. The sausage in the stuffing had just enough kick, My wife loved their meatloaf. She's never had bacon wrapped meatloaf before, and now she's a fan. I really liked the St Louis ribs. I don't know what I expected with the loaded tater tots, but I wasn't impressed with them. The service was quick and friendly. I doubt that we'll ever return to Fargo, but if we do, I'll come looking for Lucky's 13. read more

If I could eat the atmosphere, I'd give it 5 stars. Loved the tin ceilings and the rustic atmosphere. We thought we were getting great service, until we discovered near the end of the meal that our waitress, who had informed us of the beer special, hadn't bothered to tell us about the $5 burgers on Mondays. And it was Monday. I opted for the Soup and Half-Sandwich, and got the Turkey and Wild Rice Soup. I have to say that the soup was delicious, but nowhere on the menu (and it's listed about 4 different places) did it say that this was CREAM of Turkey, and it was thick and heavy. I never would have ordered it, but if you're a fan of heavy cream soups, you'll love it. I did, but I was cursing it as I slurped it up. My half sandwich was not a winner, though. The Rachel was a Reuben in drag - turkey instead of pastrami. Unfortunately, the turkey was very dried out. My husband had the pastrami and had no complaints. Somehow the waitress either overheard us talking about it or me furiously typing notes into my phone after I saw the placard touting the $5 burgers, but at the end she comped us a dessert to share. We picked the carrot cake, which was enough to feed 6 comfortably. It was scrumptious! If you're in Fargo, you can't go wrong at Lucky's. Just tell 'em you won't eat dried up turkey, and if you're there on Mondays have a burger. read more

I was pleasantly surprise by this place, at first I thought it was going to be very standard fare, nothing special - just because a lot of restaurants are generic chains - even though this is a smaller "chain". The boys wanted some poutine which isn't on the menu - so they ordered cheese curds, tater tots and gravy. The poutine never was made. The tater tots are awesome! They are stuff with cheese and not sure what else, but they are amazing!! Highly recommend trying them. I got the soba noodle salad - it was pretty tasty. I was very happy with it. Burgers were ordered and I forget what else - what the food was good and it was definitely a step up from std Fargo fare. OK...it was actually probably a 3.5, but no extra credits in the rating process! It was "OK" but not more. Slightly lackluster but "ok" service. Food was "ok." You get the point. It was crowded to the max on a Wednesday night - literally, I think we got the last table and it's a pretty big place. The bar area was standing room and packed pretty tight. Lucky's is located in sort of a hotel row area and although there are a lot of other options around, this apparently is a pretty popular place. Hubby had a HUGE salad - it was a monstrous plate (and he packed it all away!). They sort of build up their turkey sandwiches - thick cut turkey roasted onsite. I think what they actually do is have a pre-roasted chunk-o-turkey that they roast again and cut thickly. It was definitely a nice thick-cut of real turkey, but it didn't have that freshly made turkey flavor - a slight processed taste that they cover by calling it "honey roasted turkey." It was a missed opportunity. The ciabatta roll it was served on was good, but had they added some red onion and maybe some cranberry relish, it would have elevated the sandwich considerably. Although it was served with a dressing of some sort...and what I believe was supposed to be a turkey au jus, it just simply fell flat and on the low end of flavor. I do soooo love a good turkey sandwich and this one didn't make the cut. With other nearby options, I probably wouldn't try it again. read more

I was visiting Fargo and this place was near my hotel and I decided to give it a try. I got the pizza rolls, which were really good. They were big enough that I probably could of had just those. I also got the jalapeno popper burger, it was good but I was a little disappointed in it. They don't fully cook their burgers so the stuffing on the inside didn't even get warm. For the regular burgers that doneness is probably fine but if you get a stuffed one ask for it to be all the way done. Even though I was getting my order to go. Stayed in Fargo for one night on our way to Alaska from South Carolina, wanted to find a bar that served food late and was close to our hotel. Couldn't have picked a better option. I tried the cheese curd burger which sounds disgusting but it was very good. The blackened walleye sandwich is also excellent. A decent beer selection is available too. I really don't have any negative reactions to share. Good service at the bar and friendly people. I usually take a packed house to mean it is good and each time I went there was a wait for a table. Great Yelp find while traveling through Fargo. Had the Walleye Spring Rolls and the Walleye Sandwich. I choose the deep fried Walleye for my sandwich and it was delicious. Best Walleye I've ever had save for shore lunch on the English River! The Spring Rolls were awesome. Beer selection was good for national brands but lacking in craft brews.
