First time coming to Lucky's Lounge!! The ambiance and overall vibe of this establishment was absolutely splendid!! We slit a Mac and Cheese and the Churros dessert. The most amazing churros I've.ever.had! I can't say now ouch good things about our exponential this establishment. 10/10 read more

Really cool little basement lounge. Very retro style I felt like was in a different era. I had the lucky burger and it was amazing. The pretzel bun was to die for! The bacon aioli was very good meat tasted fresh. The fries were also very crispy and seasoned perfectly I would definitely recommended checking this place out. read more

Honestly had a terrible time. The drinks were AWFUL the food was ok and the management was very rude.

Very disappointing lunch today, it took us over an hour to find out our food wasn't remotely ready yet (and we are talking burgers). Service was spotty and slow at best, when we inquired about the delay our waitress just wandered off and never let us know when our food would be coming. Ultimately we ended up having to cancel our meals and go because there is only so much time for lunch during a work day. Prices have also gone up significantly lately limiting the only reason this place used to be worth going to, a plain burger with no toppings starts at $13! I gave it two stars because this place used to be alright and we might have just caught them on an off day, but really I feel like I'm being generous. read more

Great live band with no cover kicking it loud around 10/11pm on a Thursday night drew us in the doors. Left after 30 minutes. People were wasted and all over each other. My colleague got hit on aggressively multiple times but drunk bro's who wouldn't take the hint. To top it all off my fleece jacket got stolen off the back of a bar chair when I went to the bathroom. In my 34 years of living, I have never experienced a more abhorrent and unconscionable dining experience. I usually don't post reviews, but my experience was so abominable, that I feel morally obliged to share my encounter with those who may feel compelled to patronize this establishment. -Despite the fact that it took ~25 minutes to get approached by our server... -Despite the fact that it took another 20 minutes to get served our drinks (which were the wrong drinks)... -Despite the fact that the waitress rudely yelled at me when I POLITELY inquired as to the whereabouts of our food that was ordered nearly an hour prior... The "icing" on the cake was the fact that when I requested to speak to the manager, he actually CONFRONTED my friend and GOT IN HIS FACE (!!) I'm not joking! The manager, the individual in a position of authority, looked like he was going to punch my friend in the face FOR POLITELY INFORMING HIM OF HIS SERVER'S NEGLIGENCE. If you wanted to be treated like a valued customer, avoid Lucky's. I have never seen anything like this in my life. It was truly appalling and I will never return to Lucky's. read more

This is quite an unassuming kinda bar that has a very pub like vibe to it. One can describe the vibe as - old-school, semi-campy, not grungy or divey... I like places that are at a level that is lower than the actual street where you get the feeling you are going into someone's basement and woh - this basement is quite nice and as said before - very old school, that has the kind of nostalgia about it as if you are transported back into the 80s when you were a tiny little kid and wanted to go out on your own, but you could not because you were a kid... But now you are young and not living in the 80s and everyone around you is trying to catch on the hippie movement from the 80s, in the 2010s and you get to pre-game before a Bryan Adams concert, who was huge in the 80s and it is all full circle when you go to Lucky's. 5 stars for the ambiance right off the bat! For a Wednesday night, the place was busy - quite expectedly so.We parked ourselves at the bar, because the booths seemed a bit more darker - thanks to the lighting. And plus we were kind of in a rush and wanted nothing too elaborate. So we ordered the sliders and got ourselves a couple of drinks. The bartender had his hands full. But because it was not a huge bar, things were under control. Our food came out on time - it was a good trio of sliders, very well done. 3 to 4 stars between food, service et al... I will have to come back again for something more, for sure. PS: An insignificant detail - can be treated as a statutory warning: No Cellular network downstairs nor WiFi - your time here will be without any access to outside world. Awesome, what a great gem in the Seaport district The AAA crew (*inside joke*) were on their way to the Boston Wine Expo and want to "load" up on some food before sipping barrels of pinot, cabernet and merlot. Yelp brought us to Lucky's where Sinatra Sunday was full on. Pros: If there's absolutely one thing you must try, it's the tots. What? yes, tots, you know - Tater tots, puh-tay-toes. Did an image of greasy, oily smelly little trans fat hazardous imperfect cylindrical cubes just flash visually across your mind? yes of course and you're gleaming into the diner-hell highlight reel. Au contraire, mon frère, the ones at Lucky's are a great and wonderful surprise. It's like doing a search on the internet and pressing "I'm feeling Lucky" button on the Google search engine. They are disguised like munchkins. As you're biting through the soft but crunchy exterior, you are greeted by a very light feathery insinuation of potatoes. WTF how the heck did they do that? A gourmet tater tot! let's celebrate by having another and another and oh my gosh, we need to order some more!!!!!! Yes they are pretty damn good. Consider yourself lucky for just trying the tots. Overall great food, drinks, live band, atmosphere. Definitely recommend reservations. The hashbrowns are quite buttery and savory. Best Espresso martini I've had Cons: ... I like Lucky's. The great thing about this place is you can pretty much make it what you want it to be. The food is pretty good, though it's standard bar food. They also have a pretty decent selection of beers. Lucky's tries to replicate the days of a speakeasy. There's no sign to identify that it's a bar. Still, everyone seems to know about this place. On any weekday, you will see office workers who have wandered over from their cubicles nearby. I've never been there on a weekend so I can't suggest what that scene is like. Service is a little spotty. It's hard to attract the waitress' attention, and you pretty much have to flag her down. This has been my experience on a consistent basis. However, as I said, the pub food is pretty decent. Even though it's quite typical, I like it. Last time I shared the spinach artichoke dip with a friend and it was pretty good. We also shared boneless buffalo wings, which was really great, and probably one of their more standouts plates. read more

Why yes I'm not sure how long Lucky's has been established, but it is definitely a known hot spot just a puddle hop over the Fort Point Channel from South Station (take the next bridge down, Congress Street, to avoid freaking out under the Summer Street bridge). Can't stress enough that Lucky's has no sign. You could call it anything you want, but the one sign you're in the right spot are the red lights behind every shaded window at ground level. Enter dark dwelling, low lighting, old school booth seating, and hello! bar. Lucky's makes the perfect meet-after-work hit, weekend retreat for live music sans cover charge, and Sunday morning Jazz brunch. Don't be intimidated by its shady neighborhood! I want to come back for Sinatra nights or brunches.... Coming here on a Saturday night I could see how cool this place could be, especially with a few men in suits and ties singing up some old sinatra tunes....But the night Matt J. and I went we barely had room at the bar to stand, and the dance room was packed to the brim with people. We had heard this place was supposed to be a semi secret lounge spot--they don't even have the name Luckys outside on a wall anywhere, it is this underground entrance with a bouncer out front. We had to wait in line a little bit and we knew why when we got inside since there wasn't too much room to go anywhere really... They do have some tables here were you can order up some food and some sliders came by that actually looked pretty darn tasty. Our rum and diet and a manhattan cost $19 which isn't the cheapest by any means, but Matt J. could barely finish his manhattan because it was almost purely alcohol! Yes, that is normally a good thing, and you are getting your money's worth for sure, but a drink should be drinkable especially for paying that much. My rum and diet came in a nice large high baller glass though which I very much appreciated :-) This place has a diverse crowd that has some older people who look like they just came from seeing a show somewhere bow ties and all to the typical frat like guys as well. One girl slightly spilled her wine glass on me as well, but I guess that's what you call getting Lucky and Luckys! It was white wine and only a couple drops on my shoes!! I hadn't been back to Lucky's in a while, but even with a slightly re-tooled menu, the food is still solid! We wandered in at the tail end of the Sinatra Sunday Brunch and within 15 seconds of perusing the menu, I knew what I wanted--eggs benedict! It was divine. Perfectly poached eggs sat atop quality proscuitto, sliced tomato, and toasted sourdough rounds. A light, lemony hollandaise graced the whole affair (not the heavy glop that some places try to pass off as hollandaise) and a few sprightly spears of asparagus garnished the dish. Oh and the side of hash browns were quite good too but could've used a little more browning in the frying pan. There was nothing ladylike about the way I dug into the dish, but it was oh so delicious and worth every calorie! read more

So the man and I came here on a Saturday night after our plans for the booze cruise fell through. I had read the reviews, and looked at the website... everything looked ok. We drove in, and Marvin The Garmin told us it was right off of exit 20 on rt. 93. And he was right. We parked right on the street and it was maybe a 3 minute walk (if that). There is no sign outside, so you have to know the number of the building or you will be walking around aimlessly. We were seated right away... probably because it was 7 pm. Its small and quaint, with wood paneling and a Marilyn Monroe painting on the wall. The waitresses are all super nice and really cute. We started off with drinks... the man stuck with Sam Adams Summer, and I decided to have a signature drink, the Lady Luck... which was VERY strong, and very, very yummy. We had the calamari, which definitely hit the spot. After a second round of drinks, we decided on our meals. The man had the steak tips, which came with veggies and mashed potatoes. And I had the short ribs, with sour cream and chives mashed potatoes and onion rings. When our meals came out we were quite surprised. The presentation was something you thought you would find at a top-notch hotie-totie restaurant. And the taste was out of this world. I am not a huge fan of ribs, but the waitress recommended them. They were amazing. The potatoes were good, and the ribs had just the right about of marinade... they just fell apart. And the onion rings were thin and crispy, not oily like most places. And they were sweet, definitely the right compliment to the rest of the meal. The man had to make me stop eating. I was beyond full but just couldn't stop, it was sooo good. They also offer live entertainment on certain nights. We were told they also have a Frank Sinatra cover band. We didn't stay for the band tonight, but will definitely be back for more fun times. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid Lucky's Lounge "Sinatra Sunday" Brunch at all costs. Why did I go? My girlfriend's friend was in town and I didn't have a lot of input. Here are my impressions. The location was kind of unmarked from the outside. Even though it was sunny, cloudless, and pleasant outside, the interior of the place had no natural light and in all other ways had all the charms of a bowling alley in 1979. The brunch menu was extremely limited. Any half-decent diner would have had three to five times as many options. Of course all of the options that *were* on the menu were unhealthy. (I guess by going to brunch, I had agreed that I want to poison myself.) Not only was the "food" unhealthy, everything was expensive. Okay, whatever, maybe expensive means that the ingredients will be excellent, skillfully cooked, delicious. You get what you pay for, right? Hardly. As for quality, the meal was not-quite-mediocre. They messed up my bacon. How does anyone get a job as a cook if they can't prepare bacon so that it's crisp? Most of my bachelor friends, as pitiful and helpless and slovenly as they are, can make some crispy bacon. And they can make it for a hell of a lot less than $4.00. The eggs were meh. I'm not sure that the corned beef hash wasn't just salt with food-coloring and texture enhancement. And it's not as if our messed up, overpriced food came promptly or with a smile, either. Our waitress was lazy and dishonest. ("Your food will be right out..." Why you got to lie to me, girl?) As for "Sinatra Sunday?" Yeah, there was some recorded Sinatra playing in background. I'm not really into Old Blue Eyes but at least when he was playing I didn't have to listen to this awful jazz duo including a keyboardist who had clearly never played music before and possibly never heard it. If they had played one more song, I would've gouged stabbed myself in the ear rather than suffer the randomly disastrous sound arrangements. What an awful experience. Lucky's Lounge ruined my Sunday. So why I have not written a review about Luckys yet, I don't know.. It really is the BEST bar in Boston (IMO) - but maybe I shouldn't say that ;) haha Well, maybe it is because I don't want more people to know about it! I have been going for a couple years now, and It gets busier and busier, despite no promotion,and even no sign out front. So why do I like it? The atmosphere, the food, the drinks, the people. Is that too much? The atmosphere is great. IN the basement, a little bit of a speak easy feel. Dimly lit,comfortable, and enjoyable. It doesn't feel 'sterile', which I hate, just ap lace you like to be (even if it is crowded) The food, is amazing!. Creative menu,different changes, well prepared. If you are going for a first time, then I suggest getting a bunch of apps. The Kode Beef sliderS? Although not really kobe beef (they are american kobe, which is fine. most people don't know you can't actually get japanese kobe in this country) , are super juicy and well prepared, and not to small. They come out with the top buns off and the cheese melted to the top bun, not the burger. and they have a friend quail egg on them. the taste just explodes in your mouth! The other top choice is the fish tacos. You get four, some may think they are small. but again beaming with taste. great homemade sales with home made guar on the side. You bite into them and get a little spice, which is then juiciness and the sweetness of the fruit salsa. literally hits your senses and is absolutely delicious. (still wondering why I am writing a good review. I should write a poor one, so less people go, so there is more room for me!) The mac and cheese, kettle chips, and spinach and artichoke dip are all great, and although may seem 'standard' fare, definitely offer a little something different and great taste that will make you remember them the drinks! Heavy, big, and strong I remember the first time I ordered one, and it cam in a pint glass instead of a rocks glass. YUM! And GREAT martinis. Yes, this may be a feature of the bartender not the restaurant (and canI say, the bartenders are always great,g et to you quick, and make the drinks quick) Grey goose, dirty, three olives.. yes another please! So the downside of the bar? Well, the other night was 'Ted' night, as in the new Mark Wahlberg movie. Which has Luckys in it. Which means more people will know about it, and more people will go there, and make it harder to get in and busier so people, stay away! leave it for me! go across the street to Drink! ha but really, check it out. and go for food around 8-9, not just drinks. Specifically, on Saturday when you can listen to a little Old Blue Eyes suit up, put a fedora on, and enjoy food, drinks, and Sinatra the way it should be. ps. a couple block walk from South Station, so not hard to get to but if you are driving, you can park for free There are lots everywhere, but in the 40-50 times I have been down tot he area (meaning Fort Point/Seaport), I always part for free It is getting harder, as you can see the area changing and more people coming in and it getting busier and more places, but every time I go down, I ALWAYS find street parking on Boston Wharf road, two blocks down from Luckys along Congress.. read more

For me, the makings of a good bar include: -good tunes -good food -stiff drinks -non-stiff crowd -lots of seating (bar and tables) check, check, check, check ANNNND check. Had a good time this past Friday. Went with a couple of friends. Service was good, had the mini burgers and tasted the buffalo chicken tenders. Both were tasty and reasonably priced. Luckys is amazing! I hosted an event here last night and everything was top notch. Jennifer was wonderful to work with during all of the planning and did a great job estimating the amount of food that we needed and staying well within our budget. They let us get started a little bit early and didn't complain at all when guests lingered for a bit after the event. By far one of the weirdest, dark, hidden bars I've been to in seaport/boston. I come here for two reasons 1. Sliders/fries 2. Open late. First off they have some of the BEST truffle fries in boston. I order them often when in at new places and these were shockingly amazing. I was also very surprised by the Wagyu Sliders! Three beef sliders with melty muenster cheese, smoked bacon aioli and a bright sunny side up quail egg to top it off. read more

We stopped in here mid-way through our 10 year anniversary. I had 2 gin and tonics or a gin martini. I don't know. I got drunk. The bartender couldn't be bothered to be friendly or strike up a conversation when I half-in-the-bag tried to compliment her on the good drink. I went pee in their ladies room and it reminded me of the Wal-Lex bathroom -- if you know what that is, then you'll know that I was peeing in a pink-hued pee pee smelling bathroom. TOTALLY forgot about this place! I mean, it's not hard...half the time, no one can even find it! A few months ago, I came here for some after-work cocktails and had a great time. The waitress was on point...my glass was never really empty! Had an interview today and lo-and-behold, it was on a street right next to my boyfriend's office. A little lunch rendezvous brought us to Lucky's! Totally chill environment, pretty packed for lunch...decent prices. The service was quick and polite, great for the I-only-have-an-hour-to-enjoy-my-lunch-so-make-it-quick crowd. A lot of menu items caught my eye: mini crab-cake burgers, mac& cheese (the kind they broil with the crispy cheese on top) and the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. The mini-burgers was delicious and not as mini as I thought (I couldn't even finish them) But we were a little disappointed in the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. I was expecting the pie to be a little saucier. They should call it "Pizza with Buffalo-Flavored Chicken." Don't get me wrong, the pizza was good, just didn't really live up to it's name. If I worked in the area, I would definitely come here for lunch once in a while or a happy hour (which would probably more frequent!) read more

This place must be going downhill. Im from LA, so I was excited to try this bar in while in Boston based on other reviews. Saturday night, bit of a line, no problem. Right before being let inside the last member of our party joined us and the bouncers wouldn't let her in. They demanded she go to the end of the line and wait alone. I'm from a land of long lines and tough bouncers, but this was ridiculous. The bouncers were rude about it. Okay, she has to wait outside for now. Geez, must be a hidden paradise inside for them to guard the door like Fort Knox. We go inside. No. No. No. No. No. It was grungy and low- ceilinged. For a place to be a dive bar it needs to have character. Dinginess does not equal character. It does not look or have the atmosphere of a "speakeasy" at all, more like "hey, let's turn this sub sandwich shop into a bar and put som rat pack photos on the wall while we're at it. But let's not put up signage and keep a line outside even room there are ten empty booths. Y'know. 'Cause we're exclusive." We hurried to finish our drinks so we could leave. I'm glad it was cheap, because it was a waste of time. Not worth a visit and most certainly not worth a wait. read more

There's a part of me that wants to be snotty about Lucky's, like cuz it's fairly expensive, the servers aren't totally pleasant, there's still a slightly scary number of way too many white people (I guess even Fort Point can't shake it's South Boston-ness) and the photos on the wall of Sinatra, etc. are lame but I just can't put that much negative space out there because it has all of these other elements that I really love. Such as: The Best Kind Of Bar Stools- with backs. And foot rests. And the bar is so big, it's not just one, but two- one in one room, another in the other- both fully stocked (georgous, thick whiskey glasses that feels juuust right in the hand) also That Crazy Beer Art- those goofy lit up scenes of mountain streams and frolicking deer- they're just missing the moving water parts and 1/2 & 1/2 sides- other folks have mentioned it but it's just damn rockstar of them. Because you get both the yuppie greens salad AND french fries. Well salted. And the food (is overpriced) but pretty decent. I got the portabello sandwich and it was muy juicy and calamari with really garlicy aioli, lightly fried with good banana peppers. The nachos are ridiculous. If you were ever wondering what it takes to make it worth $10 nachos- here you are. I have NEVER eaten larger more cheesy blobs of nacho junk ever. y finalmente I like the no-sign bit. It makes me feel all cool and in and like I know something special ( or, well, that everyone and their coworkers know about after 5pm, but that very few folks care to think about Sunday afternoons...) It's the kind of place where you want to hunker on over to the bar, drink too much, eat too much and then pretend to be classy while you make out with someone in the bathroom. Was completely enamored with this spot. It's hard to find (hint: it's on the corner, and sublevel!). With its funky wood paneling, red lighting, and loungey-feel, it was reminiscent of an old jazz club (or at least what I envision them to have been like!). What I wasn't expecting was the food - it was REALLY good. Special mini-burgers with bleu cheese and some sort of balsamic-rosemary aioli were awesome. As was the chicken-cilantro sausage pizza (hello - jalapeño creamed corn sauce? YES PLEASE!). The ahi tacos were lovely and light - and the BBQ short ribs (I can never NOT order short ribs) were truly decadent with their sour cream and onion mashed potatoes and crispy fried onions. I was so impressed by the ambiance, the food, and our lovely waitress - I can't wait to come back next time I'm in South Boston. Awesome. read more

I've been here many times after work to grab a beer or listen to a band...just to chill out. It's a little dimly lit space on the corner of A street by night, and a brightly lit space by day. I went here for lunch for the first time last week and was completely impressed! First of all, the place was packed! Not what I was expecting at all, but so happy it was busy! My co-worker and i both got the Lucky's Caesar Salad which we also both finished. The best part was the dressing...or lack there of. I hate getting a salad and having it be drowning in dressing. This wasn't the case at all! It was the perfect lettuce/other goodies to dressing ratio. Prices were extremely reasonable! Just added this place to my "where to grab lunch" list and moved it up a few notches on my "afterwork drink" list! Can't wait to come back. read more

Real cute underground dive bar in Downtown Boston. Music was good, Drinks were cheap, crowd was mid 20-30s. More of a local's spot which I totally dig. Any place that has no sign on it and leaves me doubting whether or not it's the right spot as i gingerly open the door immediately impresses me. Of course, i am nothing if not easily amused. As my companion and i wandered the windy seaport area from the ICA looking for it, we walked right by, but were glad to have noticed the bouncer standing outside, and considerably more so to get into the warm, dimly lit basement confines of Lucky's. There was a short wait for a table on a Thursday, but we were shortly enough shown to huge booth which could probably seat eight if they really liked each other. Squishy benches, candles, and dim red lights make it a really comfy place to hang out. Even though the vibe is '50's-dive, it's faux-dive, meaning that the menu is mostly a fancy take on comfort food. Me, i never say no to mac & cheese, which was awesome; i was told the tuna and noodles were also good. They pour a decent enough Guinness, and have an average selection on tap. There was some pretty decent live music that night, and no cover that i noticed. It was busy, lively, with the folks in the neighboring booth getting down with their bad, seated selves. In short, it's a nice place to eat and drink with a sort of hole-in-the-wall feel, and we were darned glad to have found it. read more

First off, let me warn you that the door to the ladies room and the exit door are very easily confused. In my drunk stupor, as I was leaving (or so I thought), I burst into the ladies room, which is a problem since I have a Y chromosome. After some glaring stares and supressed half-smiles, I thought I was gonna get thrown out, but the bouncer thought it was hilarious, so I am assuming I wasnt the first idiot to do that. oops Another thing: I noticed that it seemed that everybody there was with somebody of the opposite sex, so its not that great for singles. Even though it may have just been that particular night, I am not sure. But yeah, the actual review. This place is acutally pretty casual. Theres no loud music, and the scene is pretty relaxed. Drink prices arent that bad. Beers about 5 bucks, mixed drinks 7-9. The place is a little small which makes crowd navigation an issue, but not too bad. Hey, its not a bad place to wind down from a crazy night bar and club hopping, so I will definitely be back. read more

I found myself surprisingly at home at this cute, hidden retro bar at the hairline of Southie. Located a short walk from the South Station T, this bar was very out of the way for my Brookline-blood--however, I couldn't help but feel from the instant I walked in--I feel very comfortable here. I met up with 10-12 friends for a going-away party. We sat in the lounge and my boyfriend and I bought fries for the table, and several drinks and we ended up spending a lot less than we would at many bars. The atmosphere inside was dive meets retro, and the patrons seemed to be a laid-back-real mix of young professionals (without the professional garb) the brick and basement feel makes one wonder why this bar was able to crawl out of hole in the wall status--and it may be the live-band-no-cover, unpricey cocktails and hip-but-laid-back feel. There is a short line outside of this bar, it seems, some people we were meeting around 11pm had to wait 4-5 minutes outside but when my four friends arrived at 10pm--we got right in. I didn't stay as long as I would like, nor did I enjoy (since I was enjoying my friends more) the lively dance floor--but the music was a fun mix of lively old rock n' roll which had my feet moving as I snacked and shared stories. The waitress was also very attentive to our table, funny---and very quick with all of our drinks--she even split the check for the 4 of us who had to leave a little early. I probably wouldn't come here often--only because it's a little out of the way, but if I did come here--this is def. a place that I could spend a long night at without having to hop. read more

Not what the description said it was . It's a 20 something club. I brought my husband and 2 friends there , walked 20 min in the freezing cold, expected a speakeasy Sinatra type bar. Was highly disappointed. Turned around and left. read more

Visiting Boston and received a recommendation to visit Lucky's. What a fun atmosphere along with great food and generous mimosa's! I had the Old Blue Eyes Benedict. Yum yum yum! I highly recommend the trip! read more

Had the chicken sandwich for lunch today. Excellent! Bartender cam was great and the food was awesome. Will recommend !

Because I work right down the street, I seem to find myself at Lucky's relatively often for lunch and after-work cocktail hour. I've never been disappointed with the fare -- they make a pretty good mojito, reuben, and egg rolls (such random things to serve all in one place, but whatever), but if I wasn't already in the area I don't really think I'd make a great effort to come out. If you do find yourself there, however, be sure to get "1/2 and 1/2" as the side to your meal. It means 1/2 fries and 1/2 salad -- the waitresses don't specify that you can get both but it's definitely the way to go! read more

My first visit to Lucky's was on a Monday evening. Nary a soul haunted at half past seven, but the waitress still sat us in the outcast corner - weird. The sickly sweet basil lemon drop and the sticky martini glass it came in reminded me why I usually steer clear of "special drinks" and stick to wine or beer. The duck burger was well received in previous Yelp reviews, but I found it lackluster and wanting for more distinctive duck flavor. After dinner, we had some drinks in the club/bar area which stayed sparse for the remainder of the evening. The second time I went to Lucky's was on a Thursday and earlier in the evening (6:30). I met an old friend and we stayed only for one drink because it was too loud to really talk and catch up. Lucky's was packed to the bricks with after-work types. There was little room to sit or stand and nowhere to avoid constant ass n' crotch collisions with the bar/bathroom parade. The decor was more fun than a lot of Boston bars but I was really hoping for more than financial district singles and average food. Kudos to Lucky's for establishing a Seaport Village beacon. I'm looking forward to seeing what else pops up in the neighborhood. read more

How on earth have I never heard anyone speak of this place? A friend and I were on our way to another establishment nearby, parked, and walked by here... curious what was up with the glowing red lights in the windows. We looked to see if there was a sign out front, but didn't see one. We go to the other place, have a drink, and I say to my friend "You know, I'm really curious what that was... want to go check it out?" He agrees and off we go. We walk in, still looking for a sign, and a guy walks by saying "Welcome to Lucky's" - I see an old jazz looking piece of art on the back wall, and I'm truly expecting to hear like Frank Sinatra or something playing... or a live jazz band. There's two sides to Lucky's. We arrived just after the kitchen closed, which was a bummer because it looked like they had some interesting items on their menu that I would have loved to get a nibble. The side of the bar that we were on was closing, but the other side stayed open until 2 the bartender said. She made my friend and I an Absolut Boston Mojito before she closed everything up. Thank goodness she did, that was amazing! I don't know how she spells her name, so I hope I don't butcher it, but her name was Mi-Soon. They've got a Sinatra brunch, and often times have live bands or DJs in on the weekends according to Mi-Soon. This is not directly off of a T line, but it's about a 0.7 mile walk down A street from Broadway, or about a 0.5 mile walk from South Station. I'm a fan, I'll definitely be back, and next time... I want to try some food! read more
