The Lucky Lounge absolutely nailed the speakeasy vibe. You walk down a set of stairs and the moment those doors open, you're greeted by this dark, moody space that already feels alive and buzzing with energy. The atmosphere was on point, and the music selection only made the experience better. Every song fit the vibe perfectly and added to that cool, hidden-gem feel. It happened to be trivia night, so people were already lining up near the screen getting ready to compete. We had only flown into the city a few hours earlier, so we opted to sit in the other room for a quieter evening. Not a complaint at all. The energy was fun to watch, but we were definitely in relaxation mode after traveling. There was also a conference happening at a nearby hotel, so the place filled up quickly. Even with the crowd, the bartender taking care of us remained incredibly attentive, checking in often and never making us feel forgotten. Excellent service in a busy room always stands out. We ordered three cocktails and every one was delicious. The Coconut Confidential was creamy and refreshing, basically a liquid piña colada. The Velvet Elvis packed a punch with the Jack Daniel's and Chambord. My favorite of the night was the Sassy Cactus Sip. The prickly pear flavor was fantastic and had me wishing I ordered a second. For food we shared the garlic broccoli, pretzel bites with cheese, and the artichoke dip with chips. Unexpectedly, the real MVP was dipping the broccoli into the artichoke dip. This is a pretty cool dive my bar to check out if your in the seaport area. We decided to stop in after seeing that that had a deal for their smash burgers on Tuesdays. It's 3 dollars per patty on the burger so 6 dollars for a double and you can get up to 3 patty's on the burger. It doesn't come with fries but it's easy and affordable to order some for the table. The burger was delicious and is all the greasy goodness you want out of a cheap smashburger. I will be going back just to have the smash burger again. As far as service goes our bartender was really nice and attentive. The rest of the service was just ok. But I wouldn't expect much more out of a dive bar on trivia night. read more

Lucky's is an institution. Period. This place has been a staple on Fort point for longer than I have probably lived. It has looked the same for that length as well. This is a place that I hope never goes away. The ambience of the red lights inside, the maroon booths, the cool bar and red mood lighting makes you feel like you stepped back in time to a different era. The food is awesome. My go to is the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The drinks are spot on, the beer list is current and relevant. The bartenders are attentive and know their stuff. Some have been there for decades. I can't say enough about this establishment. It never gets old to go and drink or eat here. If you haven't experienced Lucky's you need to, if you know, you know. And then you sit down and they have a full craft beer list and a delicious looking menu and you're like wait a second...and then the bartender is kinda gruff so you're like ok maybe it is a dive. But then that bartender ends up being super fucking cool and has great drink suggestions and beer suggestions and the other people sitting at the bar are super cool so you just want to sit and drink for a while and take it all in? we made a reservation late on a saturday night for dinner my first time in boston. the place was absolutely packed, all the booths and bar top too. 21+ security checks ID at the door. we didn't peak around to the other half of the venue where live music was playing, but tons of guests were arriving and heading straight over there as the night got later. Mad I even have to give one star. I am so disappointed. I feel disgusted after leaving Luckys. I had a couple drinks with some girl friends and then when we ordered a Lyft home (around 11:30pm) the bouncer came over and asked us to move over. At first I thought he was concerned, then when he asked us again and said "it's a liability for us" I was immediately disgusted and disappointed that we were a burdened waiting for our ride just looking for SAFETY!! Decided to try something new tonight and not knowing anything about Lucky's I made a reservation. I showed up a few minutes early and was ID'd at the door. Walked down the stairs to the hostess stand. I stood there for a while and no one addressed me. When the first waitress ignored me I assumed it's not her job but when she walked past several times and didn't say a word, I decided to stand there and see what would happen. I could clearly see the bartenders and other wait staff, but no one said a word. After 15 minutes I left and went to a different bar to grab a beer and a burger. I'm so bummed to have to write this review because I've been a long-time patron of this bar and normally don't have any issues, but last night one of the bouncers showed total and blatant disregard for women's safety. We had a group of four women who were just trying to find our uber home because the service outside of the bar was bad, and the bouncer asked us to move down and away from the bar. We didn't think much of it so we did and I sat on the curb trying to see which route our uber was taking and he asked us "can you move across the street? It's a liability for us and the bar if you get hit, but it's not a liability if you get hit across the street." We were not being loud or disturbing anyone or blocking any pathways, we were just trying to be safe, staying with a crowd of others and close the bar until we got picked up. Instead had to wait in the darkness by ourselves across the street thanks to that bouncer. Meanwhile a group of guys were allowed to stand in the same spot we were minutes before. Abhorrent behavior and I hope this doesn't happen to more women at this bar. read more

"If you're going to sit here, go across the street in case you get hit by a car so that it's not our responsibility" - exact words from the bouncer. 4 girls before midnight, just trying to get home SAFELY. Filthy isn't the best word I can use to describe the audacity of the bouncers. You should have the ability to feel safe when waiting for your uber ride home, but instead the bouncer found it his mission to urge 4 women waiting for their ride off of the area outside of his bar. As a born and bred Chicagoan, I have NEVER been approached with the disgusting acts of the bouncer at Lucky's (heavier set, red hair with facial hair). Knowing this, I would encourage groups of girls looking to explore nightlife in Boston to go quite literally anywhere else. Absolutely sickened at the thought of sending someone's daughter there. Final note, 2 men were outside less than 4 feet from this group of females meandering without bother from said bouncer. Let this man's actions speak for himself. I didn't see any sighs saying to go to the back room .. but finally I went in the back room after 10 minutes and saw there had service in the back room . We we're seated w/ no problem and we ordered each a beer and HAD to ordered food. We got the fried pickles, which could have used more coated. I think there were cut to thin , our bartender was good to us and delivered our food and drinks . I wish we had them in a bit faster service, considering it was a slow night ..we got there before 7pm the place is big and has two bars downstairs. Probably big enough to hold party's too. This is a laid back bar for people in their 20's and 30's if you want to kick it with your friends, go on a date, or meet singles. The food is as exceptional as it gets for a bar, they've got a couple of TV's, reasonably priced drinks and live music on Saturdays. A very interesting atmosphere to say the least when you first enter this establishment. Once you can put the 70s theme aside (I know I'm probably really wrong on the era), hello amazing food. I came here for brunch so an Old Fashion was due. The Maple Bourbon Old Fashion that they offer is spot on perfect. One of my friends got the Madagascar Mudslide which was a coffee addict's dream come true. Onto the food. I got the Nutella French Toast which might have gave me diabetes, but totally worth it as everything about was amazing. One Take Charlie is what you picture nacho's dip to be, but with tater tots and more breakfast friendly. Service is great, waitress is friendly and helpful with menu selection as one of my friends has an allergy. Came here on the first night of opening after covid and it was wonderful. It has that speakeasy feel and is an amazing dive bar. It was actually very empty which was surprising and our server who is actually the bartender named Matthew. We started on the patio and ended up indoors when it was sprinkling. They made the transition super easy. I had a Red Bull raspberry Rickey and a fire cracker and they were both amazing. I ordered the fish and chips and my friend had the steak tips. Lucky's has great music, service and a very fun atmosphere. My friend and I had a wonderful time when we visited on a busy Saturday evening. Additionally, after leaving my phone at the bar by mistake, the manager drove all the way to my apartment to give it back to me before I went out of town the next day. He was incredibly kind, and this action demonstrates the friendly, thoughtful culture of Lucky's Lounge as a whole. I hope to visit this great bar again next time I am in Boston. read more
