My friend and I came here for a Thursday night dinner! It does kind of have a more post-work HH/company dinner feel, but we still enjoyed our time! We ordered the dip trio, the spanakopita, the feta 2.0, the scallops, and the gnocchi moussaka. The feta 2.0 was an absolute hit (got too excited so forgot to take a picture). The feta was soft and creamy, wrapped in fried phyllo, and soaked in honey. So unbelievably delicious. The spanakopita was also a favorite for us--it was served on a bed of tzatziki and was perfectly seasoned. The dip trio was generally delicious, but the butternut squash hummus was a bit underwhelming. The scallops were tasty, but perhaps a bit overcooked. We had a 6:30 reservation on Saturday night, table for four, friends in town for the game the next day. It felt like a place that knows it's a hot spot and moves with that rhythm comfortably. Our table sat toward the front near the windows, clearly in the dining zone. The reservation mattered. It was a beautiful day out so we decided why not brunch at Committee? I'm glad we came back here. We enjoyed it before and even more this time. We got the shakshuka and manitaria pita. The shakshuka was made perfectly without being overly acidic from the tomato base and eggs cooked just right. Just wish there were more slices of pita with the dish. The first thing we did was ordered the kreaton and I am so happy that we did. All the meat were seasoned so well and cooked to a perfect texture. The fries were nice too. I would skip the deserts as they were quite disappointing. The cheesecake was good for one bite. Then the sweetness and textures crashing together just didn't make it a good experience. The Halva ice cream was icey and watery(?). It wasn't very creamy. The sokolatopita was lacking in the chocolatey flavor and was overall very meh. I appreciated the cozy industrial interior look. We went mainly for the meze dishes vs. the feasts since we were pretty full from lunch and it was an early dinner. Favorites Tuna Crudo - delicious but I think there were only 5 or so pieces which means you had to order many portions for everyone to even get a piece. Souvlaki Trio - this was the best item out of everything we ordered. All the meats (chicken, lamb, and pork) were all very tender, extremely flavorful, and delicious. We recommend the trio of dips, potato bravos (sounds boring but scrumptious), tuna crudo, octopus, halibut, and lamb garganelli. We do not recommend the souvlaki trio- the chicken was juicy and flavorful but the pork and lamb were excessively tough and impossible to chew properly. Only coming across one dish we didn't enjoy is a win. The waitstaff are nice as usual and gave accurate suggestions about the quantity of plates to order for family/sharing style of eating. We ordered and were able to eat exactly the amount recommended. What wasn't as pleasant was that the music was so loud you could not hear the person next to you without shouting. They also seated us at a long table with another group. The only thing that separated the two parties was some plants. Not a big deal but we would have preferred our own private table with more comfortable chairs (which all of us struggled to find comfortable). However, Committee messaged me directly with a very professional and very sincere apology in addition to helpful clarification. I wanted to include a short excerpt for anyone who is looking to dine there in the future. "To clarify, our last call from Sunday through Wednesday is 10:15 PM, and our last seating is 10:00 PM. What you were told does not align with our policies, and it should never have been presented to you that way." The rest of the message was candid and earnest, and I appreciated the response greatly. Clearly, this was not something management would have been okay with. I hope that my experience is a one-off and that anyone coming here in the future has the lovely time we had come to anticipate. Unfortunately, because Committee is really far from me and I was in town for a specific reason, I won't be back anytime soon. My original review is below. --------- Used to love to come here, haven't been since before COVID. Had a reservation for tonight and got absolutely harassed by the host stand while I was in the middle of an important engagement. In a span of 5 minutes I got a phone call and 3 text messages telling me my table was ready 40 minutes before my reservation. I have never had a restaurant actually blow up my phone, she managed to set a new precedent in unprofessionalism. When I stepped out of my performance to call back and find out what was so pressing that warranted spamming me to a degree I literally could not ignore, I was told the kitchen closed EXACTLY AT our reservation time. We would be given no time to read the menu or order food, essentially if we wanted anything we would have to arrive early (impossible due to the show) and already know our entire order. Is that an acceptable guest experience? No fewer than three times on this 2 minute long phone call did this host tell me "It's a Monday." Like, okay? Are you not open Mondays? Am I not allowed to make a reservation on Monday? Do you have a super secret closing time on Monday that you choose to inform people of when it's too late for them to make other arrangements? By the way, I've been running restaurants for eight years. The correct way to interact with a guest in this situation is for the server to calmly inform guests that the kitchen will be closing soon and that they, the server, will be coming by for last call shortly. Telling people your kitchen is already closed by the time they arrive is astonishing. If your kitchen closes at 10, your last seating is at 9:30 or 9:45. If your last seating is at 10, your kitchen closes at 10:15. It's very simple. No reason whatsoever to treat your guests like they did something wrong by booking a spot you make available for reservation. Some of the lowest effort, most downright trashy customer service I have ever gotten. Fix your hosts or get new management, this was honestly offensively bad. read more

Came back after loving this restaurant last year. Crazy, noisy, busy - that's the first thing that comes to mind. Clearly a popular local hangout - but we had made a reservarion so no wait time. Another great waiter - forget his name but he's a 6th grade English teacher we learned during the evening. and a very friendly, helpful guy. The food was not quite as good as last year when we were here for the first time - the potatas bravis dish was tasty but not as crisp as it should be. Same with the zuchini chips. Good food and super friendly service Has brunch here on a Saturday before a visit to the nearby institute of contemporary art. The server was friendly and fun, and checked in regularly and dealt with my somewhat needy dining companions with grace and patience. Committee is extremely popular with tourists it seems so sometimes it hard to get a table but I've noticed that it's less crowded than you'd think from how hard it is to get a reservation so I'd suggest that you try to come in person if you can't a table online. The food is more of a fusion food and more Mediterranean than Greek food so it's quite different from what I had while in Greece. However food is decent and good enough to see why some people really like this place. The service is good especially I liked how the receptionist was accommodating when we added more more person to a reservation of two. I also really liked the decoration and I think it definitely has a great vibe to it. Overall I do think it's a positive experience to come for the breakfast/brunch. The pita bread and hummus is probably the highlight of the meal because I liked all different choices of the dipping sauces. The omelette is not bad either but most omelette are decent. I tried Greek fried chicken and didn't find it better or even different than other chicken sandwiches. They said they used thigh meat but it tasted like breast meat which is telling. The good was the cauliflower, feta cheese, and tzatziki sampler. The halibut was very tasty but extremely small portions. The souvlaki trio was only three skewers. It was overcooked. The lamb was good but was only two pieces. At the end I realized why the waiter kept recommending more dishes, it is because the portion sizes are on the smaller side. While most Seaport restaurants are overpriced or uninspired - Committee was a breath of fresh air. All the dishes were gorgeous with great depth of flavor. Particularly loved the sausage dish. The cocktails were also fantastic - this place would do well just being a bar. If I had one criticism, I'd say that we got a "stem" leaf of cabbage in the cabbage roll we ordered. It was tough to cut through before getting to the mince - and it's a particularly thick piece. We tried the watermelon feta salad, the octopus, chicken souvlaki, and lamb chops. The watermelon feta salad tasted like a refreshing summer day with a blend of rainbow heirloom tomatoes, a whipped feta, and perfectly crisp watermelon. Stumbled upon this restaurant after a round of mini golf and what an amazing stumble it was! We dined in on a Saturday around 9:30pm. It was dark and the music was loud as it seems their bar dining area turns into more of a bar/club. That lost the star for me. Too loud to talk. They had a bouncer checking IDs so I would guess late night meals are 21+ but I'm not sure.
