Breakfast! Bacon breakfast burrito and eggs, potatoes and toast plate!

We were looking for a different place to eat when we stumbled upon this place, next to Unincorporated Coffee. Food is absolutely delicious! Place was a bit quiet, but I'm guessing it was because people were still at Easter Mass. Anyway, the owner was kind, and allowed for plate customization! Can't wait to come back! Thanks for being open on Easter!

I love that we have a locals only place like Lucys. If you're looking for a good place for breakfast or lunch that you can walk to in Altadena then Lucys is great. I have had veggie omelette and it was delicious. Portions are always big and service fast. I love the murals and music and it feels good to eat some where that's not gentrified like next door.

We stopped by to have breakfast on a Sunday morning. We were the only customers inside the restaurant but we decided to still try it out. We ordered the veggie omelette, house potatoes, and sourdough bread. The food was served in less than ten minutes. The meal was decent and I enjoyed the tasty potatoes, the only negative was the old piece of cantaloupe that was included on the plate. They also had donuts for sale from a shop on Lake Ave and it was super delicious.

From the first day I walked in, you would've thought we were old friends. He makes you feel right at home, always a warm welcome. And his food!!! Always cooked to perfection. Since they say a picture is worth 1000 words, I've included some for your eyes to feast on. Let me just tell you, as pretty as the dish is served, it tastes just as good as it looks or better!! Juan is just a genius! Gracias Don Juan. Siempre quedo Bien llena y contenta!

A no frills neighborhood restaurant offering a quick, authentic meal, dining in or to go, served with a friendly smile. Their menu has the classic Mexican food standards (burritos, tacos, enchiladas, plates of various meats) as well as a variety burgers, club sandwiches, and soups. Assorted pastries, coffee, and their delicious jumbo-sized breakfast burritos make for a convenient stop in the morning. They recently have started some much needed clean up to the restaurant. The fresh paint and new counter help, but new tables and chairs would make it more comfortable and appealing to customers that would rather dine in, creating a draw for this community establishment.

My mother‑in‑law and our family friends had been before and spoke very highly of it. We originally booked a reservation for three people for Mother's Day, and when our friends became available, the restaurant was kind enough to expand it to six. They offered us a lounge area since they were fully booked, and we appreciated the effort to accommodate us on such a busy holiday. Parking was crowded because of the occasion, so we arrived a little late. Once we checked in, the staff seated us in the lounge setup, which had five couch‑style seats and one regular chair that did not quite match the arrangement. We asked if any other tables were available because the terrace looked fairly open, but we were told the lounge was the only option unless we preferred to sit indoors. We chose to stay outside, and although it felt a little unusual to see open terrace tables throughout our visit, we still enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive. There were a couple of small hiccups, such as our seasonal pizza being forgotten during a server switch and our fries being left off the order. Everything else arrived smoothly, and the Descanso Member drink was a highlight. It was refreshing, flavorful, and a great value. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, especially the beautiful setting. I look forward to coming back another time to sit at their large bar for a cocktail and an appetizer.

Not sure how many spots in these parts have Cuban sandwiches, but I know Emmi's down in Sierra Madre has one and it's pretty damn good. Parking is on the street as well as in the back, but that lot is shared with other businesses and you'll have an easier time just parking in the street. Nice open dining area that sits about 20 or so, plus seats outside. Just a nice spot for casual dining. During prime hours, you should make reservations. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. And the food comes out relatively quickly. Ordered the Cuban sandwich that came with your choice of fries or salad. Come on now, fries all the time! The sandwich is really large and they are super generous with their pork. The roasted pork was delicious with a hint of smoke (they have a smoker in the back I think). My only complaint is they threw in a couple of strips of pork belly. That kind of gave you an uneven bite in the sandwich, not to mention that the belly strips were rather tough and chewy. The menu is varied enough to make me want to try this spot again, so a pretty good time was had by all.

I ordered the bread plate and the BBQ butter was unique and really good. Friends ordered the griddle cakes and potato appetizers, both very good and decent portion sizes. For dinner my husband got the lamb (because they were out of the catch of the day which he was looking forward to), I got the pasta without prosciutto, friends got the shrimp and grits (head on shrimp hard to manage when they are covered in sauce but it was very tasty) and he got the same pasta dish as me with the prosciutto. We all agreed the food overall was better than good. The service felt strange. We were greeted with a friendly smile but once we started ordering dinner and made a joke about wanting to make a substitution (which we knew ahead they don't do) it felt like things changed. Maybe it was earlier when one of us asked if they could close the front door because it was drafty and cold (no they can't close the front door). Can't quite put a finger on it. Our reservation was at 7:15. By 8:30 the place was empty except for us. We were finishing up but weren't done. We weren't offered a dessert menu but instead they started putting up the chairs and by 8:45 they turned some of the lights off. They close at 9 but it was obvious they all wanted to get things closed up so we got our check and left. Overall, $250 for 4 people produced a tasty meal for each of us but in Pasadena where we have a LOT of choices we probably won't be back. Especially when a place states "no substitutions" and they also won't accept any requests for meat to be cooked to a certain temp. To me that seems to indicate the kitchen staff is either handcuffed, or they are unable to act on the fly if someone needs to make a change or wants their meet cooked medium well. I want to 100% enjoy my meal and experience when I go out and spend good money and Holy Saints wasn't that for me.
