Had a wonderful experience at my first time eating at Lucy's Taco Shop! I ate in their spotless dining area (the restroom was immaculate too). They have a huge menu on display. There are 27 combo plates that include rice and refried beans. Most are bargain priced at $14.25 (only three were $17 for shrimp). I had a burrito bowl with carnitas. It was very tasty with a large portion of pork, pico de gallo, rice, refried beans, guacamole and sour cream topped with shredded lettuce and cheese. It was a lot to eat for $13. Portions are substantial and most patrons left with a box to take the remainder of their meals home. They have long hours from 7 am to 11 pm seven days a week. I noticed that they have an extensive breakfast menu too. Delivery of the food was very fast both for the dining in and drive-thru customers. One thing to note about their location. They're in the former Jack in the Box building on the corner of Cheryl Lane and Highway 99 across from the vacant Ray's Food Place in Phoenix. If you're driving from the south on Highway 99 you cannot cross the median to drive into the restaurant. You need to turn left at the light into the Ray's parking lot (or drive straight at the light into Ray's if coming from I-5), turn right and cross Cheryl Lane to get into their parking area or turn into the drive-thru for Lucy's Taco Shop. Leaving is back through the parking area to Cheryl Lane. Phoenix has a confusing interchange to get onto I-5. When you're leaving. drive past the Chevron station to turn left by the former Rite Aid to head towards the freeway entrances. Join Highway 99 in either direction from the light coming out of Ray's parking lot. It's worth the driving logistics the first time to get to Lucy's Taco Shop to support this family owned business. Totally impressed by this taco spot! We ordered the Super Nachos, a beef taco, and a chicken tamale. We've been stuck on the East Coast for 15 years and I legit almost cried after my first bite of tamale - it tasted like home. Pro tip: get the half order of nachos unless you're trying to go into a food coma. We still crushed every last chip and were absolutely stuffed, but there was no way we were letting any of it go to waste. read more

This place is so fire & this is the closest you are going to get to Southern California Mexican food. If you know you know! The tortillas are so soft and grilled to perfection! Setting the branding and decor aside for a moment, we've heard positive things about Lucy's for some time now. We're just not usually in this part of town when we're craving Mexican food, so it's been a moment before visiting. The menu is quite expansive, and if you are adventurous or just have a hankering for tripa, cabeza, or lengua, you can find it here. Calling itself a 'taco shop' feels reductive for a place that serves tortas, quesadillas, burritos, tamales, enchiladas, tostada, nachos, and more. When you do finally narrow down your order, what you'll have served is a plate of amazing value. For example, I ordered the steak fajitas burrito, and received a two-handed bonanza of wrapped goodness filled to the gills (do steak burritos have gills? Not sure) with steak. So much meat. Excellent value. I love that this place still gives you free chips while you wait, and the good ol' salsa bar with several options of flavors and spice levels (the avocado cream salsa is fire! And I don't mean in a 'spicy' fire way). C'mon, you gotta love the salsa bar, which is a big reason to dine in. Phoenix just has a good Mexican food game going on. With this, El Comal, and Los Tres Portrillos in town, it's hard to name a better town for this genre. First time ordering food was great. Second time ordering food was disgusting, found a twig mixed in my food. Got sick shortly after. Called Lucy's they said it's Ubers fault the delivery company, which I might add were rude, drove way too fast and hit my reflector in driveway. Again complained blamed on delivery service. We eat at Lucy's twice a week. The owners are so nice and they recognize us since we practically live there. All of their food is amazing. Their Carnitas is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with incredible flavor. The Chile rellenos are delicious as well. carne asada? Yes please! I just had a machaca burrito for breakfast. AMAZING! The flavor took me right back home to San Diego! Properly big, filled with machaca filling, not beans and potatoes like so many places. It was so juicy that the burrito basically fell apart at the end, my fingers got a little pruney. I only know one other burrito shop in Salem that has food that tastes like San Diego Mexican. This place is awesome, I'm disappointed that I took too long to give it a shot. I'll definitely be coming back. This is definitely the best taco shop in the Phoenix, Talent, Medford, or Ashland area! Found this little gem after finishing a softball tournament down the street and on the road back to California. We wanted to get in the road and figure a nice burrito would carry us through on our road trip. The place is easy to find and there is plenty of parking, however there is construction going on (10/23) behind them so it is a little confusing to navigate the flow of the parking lot and how to get out. They do have a drive thru but we went inside for service. It was nice and clean and open during the hours they said they were open, which I cannot say for most of the other places we tried in Medford. We tried the California and Chicken burritos. Both were very tasty and a good size for the $10-$11 it cost. Most burritos like that now are going for $13-$15. Good flavor and moist, so it doesn't require salsa to make it edible. I was pleasantly surprised and would eat there again when back in Medford. Totally could see going here if down the steeet at the baseball, softball or soccer fields. read more

Trying them out today just for the yelp review. To be honest, the salsa has really good flavor for the chips and the tacos. I am pretty picky with my salsas, and these ones were good. The only reason I didn't give them five stars, the prices are a little steep. Got take out here the other day. The tostadas were quite good, the carnitas was very generous portions. The carnie asada fries were delicious. We went though the drive through, the food was fast, hot, and friendly. We will definitely go back! My only critique is the salsa brown and green should be spicer-they were both bland. read more
