Yes, it really was as bad as described. This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. We made our Valentine's Day reservation more than a week in advance and arrived early, yet still waited nearly an hour past our reservation time to be seated. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and unprepared for the evening. What was never disclosed ahead of time was that Valentine's Day featured a very limited menu at nearly $100 per person, with multiple upcharges. While we waited, customers were already complaining that the restaurant was running out of food. By the time we were finally seated, there were only one or two options left on an already limited menu. At that point, we were simply trying to make the best of a bad situation. Our server was visibly overwhelmed, and I genuinely felt for him. The couple seated next to us was so frustrated that they left no tip at all, so I tipped extra on their behalf. Guests were actively walking out and warning others in line how bad things were. One couple even decided to leave and eat at a nearby fast-food restaurant instead. This was a massive missed opportunity. The food was mediocre at best, wildly overpriced, and the overall experience was poorly managed from start to finish. My wife and I had 7:00 PM reservations at Ludlow & Prime for Valentine's Day and arrived at 6:55. The lobby was packed with people waiting. When we checked in, the hostess asked for our name and the number in our party and wrote it down on a notepad. I had to clarify that we already had a 7:00 PM reservation for two. She didn't appear to be referencing the tablet system, and it may not have been functioning. Throughout the evening, she was walking around with her notepad, going table to table asking for names. It all felt very unorganized, and honestly, I felt badly for her being put in that position. We were told they were running 20-25 minutes behind and could wait near the bar. We grabbed a high-top near the jazz quartet and settled in. As we waited, we noticed several couples come in, wait, and eventually leave. A couple next to us who had arrived about 15 minutes before we did repeatedly checked with the hostess about their table. At 7:45, they were finally seated. By that point, we had been waiting nearly an hour past our reservation time. During the wait, my wife went to the restroom and came back concerned. The ladies' room was not clean and was out of paper towels. She also noticed that about half the dining room tables were empty, with a significant amount of bussed food sitting out in the open. I checked the men's restroom myself and found the trash overflowing and paper towels all over the floor. It did not inspire confidence--especially regarding what the kitchen might look like. As I stood in line to let the hostess know we would be leaving, the couple who had just been seated walked back out and told us several items on the preset $89-per-person Valentine's menu were already unavailable--including the shrimp. Running out of key items that early in the evening on a fixed holiday menu is simply unacceptable. Had we stayed, our bill likely would have been around $300 with dinner and wine. Instead, after waiting nearly an hour and seeing the condition of the restaurant, we chose to leave. Several other couples did the same. We ended up at Tito's Mexican Restaurant, which wasn't our first choice for Valentine's dinner--but at least we were seated, served, and able to enjoy our evening. What makes this especially disappointing is that we gave Ludlow & Prime a try last Valentine's Day as well. We went earlier (around 5 PM) and were told they were already out of our preferred dessert. Fool me once. We decided to give them another chance this year--and unfortunately, it was worse. The restaurant wants to position itself as a high-end dining experience, but the service, preparation, and execution simply don't match the price point. There are far better options in Franklin at this level. We won't be back, and we cannot recommend it to others. read more

We decided to eat here for Christmas Eve dinner hoping to have a lovely Christmas Eve dinner and it was unfortunately not that. We had to ask 3 times for a high chair even though it was noted in our reservation. We had to ask 4+ times for silverware, napkins & plates and they didn't show up until after bread/appetizers were already finished. We were seated in a small private room off the main dining room which seemed ideal since we had a 1.5 year old with us but unfortunately this just meant we were overlooked all night. The food was mediocre and was not hot when it arrived to the table. We had to ask for the sides twice and they came out well after the entrees had already been served. There was also a 3% service charge if you used a credit card which I have honestly never seen at a restaurant before. We were incorrectly charged for my wine which was on the menu at $14/glass and we were charged $18/glass. It appears that the server automatically put in the 9oz glass when I wasn't asked if I wanted a 6oz or 9oz glass. We shared appetizers among the table & we were not asked how these should be split among the bills. We also did not know it was going to be a limited menu. It was not noted on their website nor on Resy when we made the reservation. Unfortunately not a great Christmas Eve experience with the family. read more

I always try to be pretty fair, given how brutal today's staffing model and costs for restaurants are, I always try to give the the benefit to the restaurant. That's why I gave this place 2, instead of 1 star. Also, given the awful reviews if the Brentwood location (now closed), yet we live so close to Berry Farms, I tried to go in with a very open mind. Small group (6) of us. A few of them ordered simple, gin martinis. The rest of us, ordered beers. Drinks took approximately 20-25 minutes to come out. All three people who ordered martinis, sent them back, because they were made wrong. I ordered a cup of gumbo. It was actually pretty awful/completely watered down, and I literally had one spoonful. After about 20 minutes, waitress picked up the completely full cup, and took it away. Never asking how it was, or noticing it wasn't touched. Anyway, all six of us at the table said "we most likely wouldn't come back". Do better read more

This used to be a great restaurant. We went to the Brentwood location many times before they closed. We decided to go to the Berry Farms location The service was horrible. The waitress constantly forgot what we ordered despite writing it down. She didn't know the menu. We were not served our salads before the entree arrived. Our sides were cold and undercooked. Steak was actually good which is why this is not a one star review. There are so many better options in Franklin and Cool Springs. Avoid this place. Four months or so after my initial review, we've not seen Ludlow & Prime burn in and get into its rhythm as much as we expected. The bar still seems to be the heart of the place. It's been busy and loud each visit. Online menu on their website is still the menu from the closed Brentwood location, which is not at all the same menu as Berry Farms. Their marketing focus is clearly not online. Asked the server about the "craft beer offerings" mentioned on the menu. Didn't know, came back and reported there are (still) no craft beer offerings. Menu lists soups as "chicken tortilla or soup du jour". Asked about the soup of the day, didn't know, came back and reported they "just have the gumbo". Does that mean there's no chicken tortilla? Does that mean the gumbo is the soup of the day? Don't know, dropped the subject. Queso was good. They'd clearly crisped the chips up in oil before serving, which was nice. Burger was fine, nothing particularly outstanding. The fries (requested without truffle oil) were excellent, the star of both our plates. Wife had the grouper tacos; a challenge to pick up, but tasty. Still being generous with the rating since we want to support local business and expanding restaurant offerings in Berry Farms. Today is my birthday and my husband made us the reservation to come. We got in and the hostess acted like they didn't have our reservation, the host then asked how many was with us and my husband was like, "two?" As we walked to our table the host then asked us if we made a reservation. Despite this, all the waitstaff were amazing, friendly, and seemed to love working here but this is really where the good parts end. Our waiter said they hosted a large party before dinner service and they were out of deviled eggs, well that's fine as long as we eventually got them. They also didn't even sell their chocolate bacon burger! This seems to be a common issue of having items on the menu but not able to sell them... So we ended up ordering monkey bread, the deviled eggs, a steak, spaghetti carbonara, truffle Mac n cheese with bacon jam, and potatoes au gratin. We were sadly extremely unimpressed with everything besides the steak, monkey bread, and potatoes au gratin (definitely best food on the menu). My pasta wasn't the warmest, the deviled eggs never came despite being there for over an hour, the truffle Mac n cheese didn't have truffle OR bacon jam on it; not to mention how dry the poor dish was. I would definitely not recommend the truffle Mac n cheese. I told my husband that this restaurant is confused and doesn't know what it wants to be. A steak house? A sports bar? A social? An upscale version of Apple Bees with live music? On one side tables were dressed, the napkins were pressed, dishes were laid out, waiters and waitresses in all black with their aprons around their waist. On the other side is live music, a full bar with flat screens, and patrons cheering and yelling at the live singer. As I people's watched, multiple other patrons looked confused and uncomfortable as this is not was sold to them when the restaurant is labeled as, "steak house." Selfishly I'm expecting Mastros, Perry's, Brick Tops, Kayne Prime, or even January. This is not it. If you want better pasta, Culaccino's has you covered. My friends made reservations on a Friday here, so I looked on line and noticed several bad reviews. So, I went in thinking the worst. My wife and I got there early and sat at the bar for drinks. We ordered Old Fashioned's, we did noticed that their liquor selection was low quality for Franklin standards. Looking around very few people were in the bar and very few seated at tables. We got seated at 6:15 still very few people there. As our waitress Miroun showed up a spark in our experience got a lot better. She was honest and very engaging with us! Still very few people in the restaurant. For food we ordered Monkey Bread and Brussels sprouts for appetizers. Loved the Monkey Bread, Brussels, if you follow me they are not my jam. I then ordered the Wedge, and it was very good. For an entree I ordered the filet Oscar style with a Loaded Mashed Potatoes, both very good with good flavor. Then we all shared a carrot cake. As I read the reviews earlier most said the service was terrible, thanks to Miroun our service was excellent! If you decide to try them again, ask for Miroun, she will take care of you! Absolutely terrible experience. Where do I even begin... 1) Sat at a half empty bar and waited 10 minutes before the tender handed me a menu without greeting me. 2) Was told they were out of sparkling water... but they weren't. Only after ordering a Diet Coke did another server come back and tell me they actually had them. 3) I ordered artichoke dip appetizer, crab cakes main, and au gratin side. My crab cakes came first, and when I asked if I was receiving the appetizer, the tender said "yeah, I just wanted to give that to you so it didn't get cold", then left for 5 minutes without giving me silverware to check on my appetizer and side. 4) when she returned with the artichoke dip, it was visibly burned and blackened on top to the point it was inedible. 5) My au graten side was literally a cup filled with liquid cheese and 5 slivers of undercooked potatoes. 6) The crab cakes were among if not the worst I have ever had..cold, with zero flavor. 7) when asking for the check, I asked for the artichoke appetizer to be removed and not once during the whole experience did they ask how my meal was, if anything was wrong, or even question why I wanted it removed. 8) This terrible experience cost me $70 (without the artichoke). I played a gig here for $250 and never got paid. The owner agreed to my rate, booked me for a gig, said it went great and told me he'd venmo me and asked me about booking more dates. His patrons tipped me a bunch and everyone had a great time. The owner then stopped responding to my requests for payment and has since ghosted me. This is the only venue in Nashville that has stiffed me in the two years i've been here. I have all the texts and screenshots to prove i was never paid. My husband and I recently visited for a date night. No complaints as far as service goes. Our waitress was kind and served us well. The food presented to us was another story. I gave 2 stars strictly based on the food received. Honestly 2 stars is generous and the only saving grace of our experience here was the bread we ordered (not provided like at most other "high end" restaurants). Before arriving I had chosen my salad of choice due to what was pictured on the website menu. Needless to say it looked nothing like I expected from viewing the original. Our server was nice enough to return it to the kitchen and take it off our bill although there was no offer to "try again" or provide another salad. Our hamburgers were ordered medium well and the outside was black and charred while the inside appeared pink and not fully cooked. Went here a month ago and it was the WORST restaurant experience I've ever had... and it ended before our order could be taken. Made a last second reservation for a party of 11 on a Friday night. This place was the only one with availability, which was another red flag in addition to the multiple 1 and 2 star reviews we had read. Arrived ~20 minutes early to a half full restaurant for our reservation and checked in to see if we could be seated early and were told no even though the table we were to be at was empty. Frustrating but we chalked it up to them being short staffed. We had 5 children and my 70+ year old parents in the party so didn't want to stand around in the bar or by the freezing cold entryway so asked if we could just sit at the table until they were ready to serve us. Seemed like reasonable request but were once again told no. Ok... I then spotted some empty tables in the back of the bar and told the hostess we would get drinks and sit there. While waiting to get drinks at the bar the hostess comes over and tells us we can go sit down at our table. I asked her if they would be taking our drink order at the table or if we should get our drinks at the bar at bring them to the table. She said a waitress would take our order at the table. To which I responded, "Great! That wasn't so hard was it." We are now seated at the table and the hostess comes over with the manager (I assumed we would be getting an apology for the whiplash responses we had been getting). The manager asks us if there was a problem, to which I took her through the account above. She then says, "Actually, we would like you to leave." I was taken aback and asked why and she said because we were "condescending to staff." When I asked how, she said it was because I said "well that wasn't so hard was it." The whole situation was amateur hour, these are not serious people. They are just playing restaurant. We will never be back and I hope you heed this and the numerous other reviews as warnings to not waste your time or money patronizing Ludlow & Prime. BTW, on the way out I did give the manager and the hostess a piece of my mind on the utter ridiculousness of their behavior so if you happened to be there that night you're welcome for the show! read more

Have gone to dinner six times, tonight will be the last. Wildly inconsistent food quality. Shrimp and grits that has been fabulous at times and, literally, inedible twice. Fantastic salmon. The most average, unremarkable hamburger I've ever had. Good steak. Amazing Brussel sprouts. Staff is great unless there is any hiccup or , God forbid, a complaint about food quality. They don't seem to know how to handle it or make it right. My wife actually complimented the shrimp and grits while saying the grits were terrible, in an effort to encourage them to improve for the future, and the waiter basically ignored her. Tonight, two people at our table ordered the same dish and one was so over-seasoned it was a darker color of orange. The server insisted they were made in the same pan. Maybe so... but one of them got an extra large helping of cayenne pepper or something added before it came to the table. Literally two plates side-by-side that were visually different and she said we were wrong. The chef was not in on Friday night for dinner service and we simply could do nothing about it. And after a very short few exchanges with the server, I questioned the quality of the service. My friend said, "oh it's terrible here." and she proved to be correct. Me: are there just two sliders on this order? Server: well it's only five dollars (with an attitude) I was only asking because there were three of us. I was considering placing two orders. Eventually the place got busy and there was a line out the front door for just waiting to come in and get a table... No one was at the front door to greet them. I considered getting a piece of paper and taking their names myself. The service was slow. The restaurant was behind schedule and opening the kitchen so food was not yet available. The published schedule on the door does not match what they are actually offering. The server was barely attentive and paid little attention to us. In the end when I left, my frustration began to show and the server said to me, "you don't have to be nasty." I felt like I'd been the victim of nasty service for the last hour and a half. But again, who's to blame for that? Is it the manager for not scheduling appropriate staff? The vibe and look of the place is fabulous and it would be wonderful to be able to frequent it, but I know I'll never go again. I didn't just get bad service, I got insulted. read more

No acknowledgement or offer to refill. - [ ] Entire staff--barring none--seemed brand new to the restaurant industry and undertrained. - [ ] Unadvertised limited menu at $89/each. Grossly overpriced for selected menu items. - [ ] Managers Paul and/or Tim may need some additional support to get this place figured out. Hostess Lily had a most unwelcoming spirit with an inconvenienced attitude to be placed as the first impression of this establishment. - [ ] Over $230 for an underwhelming experience at best. Will not be back. Cannot promote or recommend any aspect of Ludlow & Prime. It was especially disappointing as this was our only dinner night in Nashville. It felt like a wasted experience. We left promptly, drove to downtown Nashville, and went to a darling restaurant to redeem the evening out. My husband is a hero for leaving quickly and quietly without addressing management. I've never left a bad review for somewhere, but I couldn't hold back here. Do not go here. We just went for their "Valentine's Day menu" which offered an appetizer, entrée, and chocolate ganache dessert. The cost was $89 per person yet comparing their standard menu items prices. they are totally ripping off people. When you added up everything you got versus their menu you're paying roughly an extra $30! The "appetizer "isn't even the standard size of their regular menu apps and their sides were horrible. The chocolate cake was a tiny little sliver that was cold and didn't come with the same fruit that was on the menu. One of our entrées also didn't come with the sides that said was with it on the menu. The only thing that was good was the filet, which cost an extra $10 on the Valentine's Day menu versus if you ordered it off their standard menu. To top it all off, we sat at a wobbly table with very amateur service, our table was dirty, we never got our waters refilled, and we were barely checked on. $80-90 We showed up with a reservation as many people around us did, who were all waiting around the front door trying to figure out where to go and nobody at the front counter. The person at the front counter was just writing names down and treating everyone as walk ins. I looked on the website and OpenTable after making the reservation days ago and there was never a mention of a special menu. We won't told about the menu till we sat down. The portions and quality of the food was not worth the $89 they were charging. I had a very think slice of salmon that was so tough I just gave up on it. I eat salmon and cook it often and order at a lot of places, but I don't think what I got was even salmon based on the look. After leaving we are actually scared we'll have foo poisoning or be sick. My wife's food wasn't good either. My wife was told she'd get a water refill three times and didn't get it till maybe 45 minutes later. She is currently feeling sick now at home. We also weren't told that they were out of all sides but rice and Brussels sprouts until our plates were on the table and that they had no more desert but cheesecake (obviously store bought) till it was time for desert. I watched multiple couples leave without getting food after being seated and before and others who constantly got wrong or bad food. I was recently there for Sunday brunch. There were several other diners, but it was by no means full. Food was good with plentiful servings. Server, however, was not attentive. There were two of us in a booth and she did not remove extra placesettings. She did not refill drink glasses. She did not bring a check until asked. She did not ask how our food was. She was just generally not very good. And it and it caused the meal to be frustrating and not as enjoyable as we expected. One of the most embarrassing evenings every! We hosted a dinner for 9 people. We had reservations and were promptly seated. Our waiter was friendly and took our order, from there things went terribly wrong. We waited an hour before the first plate came out to the table. The filet that we order had to be sent back because the medium filet was totally raw and actually cold. The sides didn't come till after the mains were finished 2 other steaks were also sent back. Our meals all came at different times so basically every one ate their meals alone as the table watched. My three year old grandson was so hungry we asked to get his fries, Which arrived also totally cold. These were out of town guests and we had bragged about how good this restaurant was, so for such poor quality food to be doled out one at a time and not even the complete meal, was mortifying. It took 3 hours from when the food order was place till the last plate arrived. Let me add there was only one other party in the dining room and 2 or 3 guest at the bar. When we complain and were told it was a new guy in the kitchen. This is no excuse. If he wasn't prepared for two tables (13) people he should not have been there. Our bill was over $500 no alcohol. They compensated one meal and one filet which brought it down to mid fours. We will not be returning. The men had the pork chop which they said was outstanding with its blackberry Gorgonzola combo as it was the perfect sauce-not too sweet and not heavy with the Gorgonzola. The accompanying mashed potatoes were a hit. The ladies had the salmon which was the best salmon we've ever had. Cedar flavored and cooked to perfection over a bed of rice that was tasty as well. We also had the deviled eggs (yum!) and the parmesan monkey bread for apps which were both delicious. Cocktails were stiff and no holding back on their pours! Went for business lunch with group. Pork Chop was good with potatoes but they placed the blackberry sauce on the potatoes and wasn't too fond of it. Chicken Salad was good but a little too heavy on the vinegarete. Next time will ask for on side. Friend had salmon and said it was very good. Very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable servers. Took 1.5 hours for a burger and fish and chips! Didn't have the wine we wanted nor our first choice on dinner. They had about half the staff they needed in both the kitchen and the restaurant service area. Food was reasonable. A total mis-management issue!! This was our first and last dining experience at this restaurant. We went for brunch, drawn by the fun looking menu on line. Specifically the Goosecreek Bloody Mary. That is advertised to come with a myriad of items including a chicken tender and a crab claw. When we arrived there were only about 3 tables of guests. Our hostess and server sat us and asked for our drink order. We tried to order one of the specialty cocktails on the brunch menu- the espresso martini and were told the espresso machine was down. I then ordered the Goosecreek Bloody Mary, which is highlighted at the top of the brunch menu- larger than anything else on the menu. When the server brought the drink to the table it was a standard Bloody Mary with 2 olives. Not the $32 drink we had ordered. We asked her about it and she said she didn't know anything about the drink and it was her manager at the bar that made it, she went and got him and he came to table and said that they didn't actually have a steamer necessary to heat the crab claw so they could not make that drink. It was truly a strange interaction as there were 6 other ingredients listed to be in the drink and no other substitution or alternative offered nor was I asked if I still wanted the Bloody Mary that was made. It was just left at the table and I was charged for it even though I opted for a different drink at that point, We ordered 3 brunch menu items and they were all good. It would order to go here but, the service overall was poor and the drink menu advertised, is clearly not available. read more

We went for the first time on NYE and this place is pretty spacious. We had the salmon dinner and it was soooooo good, not your normal boring salmon, it was large , juicy and smoked to perfection. They also make really good drinks. Will definitely go back... our servers Phillip and Kimberly were absolutely amazing and they gave us excellent service. read more

Actually walking to another when approached by the manager to come in and take a look. We followed him in and after a few minutes felt very comfortable. Had a few drinks, an incredible steak and the best creamed spinach I've ever tasted. Very good service all around. Will return! read more

waited for 45 min for our reservation that was at 7. they were out of almost all sides and dishes ( out of shrimp, pork chops, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread and all desserts besides chocolate cake) keep in mind makes u pay 89 on valentine's day per person And servers have no idea what they are doing. this was so disappointing and won't ever come back to this place again! read more
