Had been to Ludlow & Prime in Brentwood once or twice, so figured we'd give Berry Farms a try. Place wasnt too crowded for a Sat nite, nor did it fill up during our time there. Waited quite a while for our Monkey Bread (which was actually a bit raw tasting), and my husbands Oysters Rock. Had to remind the server that the oysters never came out, and they still took a while to get to our table. Ordered two baked potatoes, one with butter, which was even repeated to the server... and one loaded. Server ended up coming backvto our table to tell us that the kitchen was down to their last potato, so my husband ordered au gratin. I found my filet overly seasoned and soon realized that the butter on my potato was actually sour cream...ugh! Turns out my hubby could have had his baked potato after all because I wasnt eating it! Was excited to try this place service was great decor nice however the food was a 5 at best we ordered 2 lobster rolls lobster mac n cheese oysters Rockefeller and the salmon..lobster rolls were sad just was a bunt bun filled with non seasoned lobster looked like pre packed lobster. Should be over flowing the bun usually but was underwhelming. Lobster mac n cheese was just a bland béchamel sauce with over powering truffle oil. Nice surprise exceeding expectations. Recent reviews commented on uneven service and problematic food. We wanted to give them a shot because the menu looked great and we understand the wobbles of opening a new restaurant. Tom met us at the desk and seated us promptly. Clare waited on us and was attentive and friendly. The food was awesome. My wife had the filet and I ordered the grouper so we could share. Both entrees arrived hot and were tasty. Besides the mains, we had a wedge, hush puppies, and the creamed spinach. All rocked. We will be back. Hopefully, the rest of the interior components will be in place then so it doesn't look like a temporary pop up. Don't let those early reviews scare you off. We came here last-night for my son's 16th birthday celebration. We made a same day reservation that they were able to accomodate. Everything was excellent - from the ambiance, to the food, to the service. We will definitely be coming back. They are still in their soft-opening phase - our server mentioned they'll be having a grand opening soon, so the decor is a bit sparse at the moment, no table cloths, rugs, wall decor, etc, but nothing that bothered us. I think these things will help absorb sound once in place - although it wasn't overly loud. Food wise - everything was 100% on point. We all ordered steaks, salads, appetizers, and the key lime dessert was the icing on the cake! They had a good wine & drink selection! This will definitely be our go-to spot for special occasions. Sadly, our dinner experience was terrible. Our $50+ medium rare NY was overcooked -grey middle. No big deal. As big steak cookers and eaters we know that sometimes it happens to the best of us. But on round 2 they brought us back a steak that was ice cold blue in the middle. They asked how it was and we told them honestly that it wasn't working out tonight. We offered to give the manager some honest friendly feedback. Instead of apologizing and taking it off the check, manager Tim insisted we pay for it (clearly this is not a restaurant that understands customer service). We were not rude, just communicative with our honest feedback. As a business owner I would PAY for someone to give me honest negative feedback. This place is not set up that way. After the first bite we didn't touch our cold steak, the runny creamed spinach, or the bland flavorless au gratin potatoes. We left unhappy, a few hundred dollars lighter, and with a bad taste in our mouth. You might get lucky with your meal if you go here, but don't expect any customer service if anything is off. We have eaten at the Berry Farms location twice and will not be back. The first time was a basic burger and it was nothing but gristle. We gave them a second chance and we had artichoke dip that had absolutely no flavor with a pile of melted cheese on top. We had steak frites and it was marginal at best. We were so excited for a steakhouse to open in our neighborhood, waited weeks for it to open. Finally made it in last week. Sadly, it was a very expensive disappointment. The food was not cooked well. The main course was overcooked. The side dishes were tasteless. We talked with the manager they took part of the meal off the check but we were still left with an expensive bill that they refused to take care of (nothing was edible). The manager just went into the kitchen and never came back out. It was a weird way to handle things. You would think with a new restaurant opening management would want every customer to have a great experience (I work in the industry, I know things happen, all kinds of things from the front of the house to the back, but a few nice words, perhaps a dessert, give us one more try, anything) all we got was an expensive bill and food "to go" for the dogs : ( Maybe they need a few months to get it together ( I hope they do) but I will not be going back. I want to see all restaurants do good in Berry Farms since we live close by. This place struggled when they first opened. Everyone we know that went did not have a good experience. I think they opened too early without taking the time to train their staff. We decided to wait about 6 months before we went. Went a few times and we sat at the bar each visit. Steak prices are going to be high, comparable to Stoney River. Had the ribeye and it was just average, not worth the price. Had the pork chop and would rate that the same. The pork chop at Saffires in the factory is very good. My overall rating of the place was about 3 out of 5. Went last night on a Wednesday and this is where my 1-star rating is coming from. Sat at the bar again and the bartender was good. This place was dead though, about 3 people at the bar and maybe 8 people at tables. Ordered the monkey bread and gumbo as appetizers. Thought they were both good, but the gumbo could use little more salt for flavor. A guy comes up to the bar, talking with the bartender. He goes behind the bar and pours a tall shot of Tequila (not a 1 ounce shot) and walks off. Figured he was probably a bartender as well and was taking it to a customer. 5 minutes later, he comes again and pours another healthy shot of tequila and grabs a corona beer. He goes to the table close to the bar to sit down and drink it. I figured this isn't a bartender as he wouldn't be drinking on the job. He calls the bartender over for a discussion. Heard him talking about days and hours for her, so knew he was a manager. Nobody was in charge of the bar during this time. 5 mins go by, I'm fine. 10 mins go by, started to get irritated. We hadn't ordered food and could use a cocktail. When 15 mins go by, I'm pissed. Walked to the front and asked the man with the gray hair if he was the owner. I thought he was a nice man. He said he manages it, but the owner was the man over at the table talking with the bartender. I went over and introduced myself to the owner. Told him you have had her over here talking to you for 15 mins, there is nobody behind the bar for the entire restaurant. He apologized and said someone was supposed to be covering for her. I said your restaurant is dead and there is hardly anyone in here. You have a 3.3 rating on Yelp. You are over here drinking tequila during business hours, oblivious that there is nobody taking care of your customers. He got a bit defensive for me calling him out on those things. Said I had no idea what he was talking to her about, something personal with her and not work schedule related. He did apologize and said he would do whatever he could to make things right. We decided to pay out and just leave without ordering anything else. I don't think the owner is a bad person. There just isn't anything good about an owner of a restaurant that is there drinking when you have customers there. This is more of a classy restaurant where you just wouldn't expect that. We waited until the newness wore off and we have found a restaurant to frequent. We went for dinner and everyone at our table ordered seafood. All the dinners were great! The service was perfect and the staff interacted with us perfectly. Shrimp and grits, grouper and scallops were all excellent! We had hush puppies and salmon appetizers and they were great too! Where should I start. We live nearby and one time ate at the branch in Brentwood. Which was about the same as this. This was a disappointment. First thing you see is a manager -owner in jeans and his best hula shirt. Anyway we order 2 Cosmos an Eagle Rare on ice and a margarita. 20 minutes the cosmos come. They suck. We walked them back. Trained the bartender how to make them. My Eagle Rare (which is an allocated bourbon ) on ice. Comes as an old fashioned. Never did old fashioned come from my mouth. Anyway we order. Lobster Mac cheese, chicken salad etc. The meal comes. Lobster sandwich and chicken pasta stuff. They take it back and bring the right food. We're confused again. Anyway the food was ok. Drinks below standard. Service apparently just confused. However, the steak was okay. The oysters raw were just okay. Overall I will never go back. The staff are teenagers the bartender is at best a Chili's bartender so very inexperienced and overwhelmed. I so wanted it to be good. But the owners dropped the ball. Hire the appropriate staff and the professional you need for this area. And way too stupid loud playing music from the 80's. Which I usually enjoy but not at dinner. Last weekend my wife and I stayed at a Residence Inn within an easy walking distance to the restaurant, Ludlow & Prime. During the meal we had both seafood and steak. The meal was superb, the service was excellent and the entire staff with which we dealt were extremely attentive and pleasant to deal with. All around it was a wonderful evening. Very unimpressive atmosphere that feels like they cut a lot of corners for cost. Served boxed wine as their house wine and were out of all beer except for 2 types in bottles. I was so excited for this place to open, however I am extremely disappointed. Service at the bar is extremely slow, even on slow days. The menu and website says HH until 6:30pm, however when you walk in they tell you it's until 6. They are always out of something on the menu. The ambience feels cold. The food is not good. The bathroom doesn't even have a toilet paper holder and there was a fabric napkin as the trash can bag. If you were not prepared to open, you should have taken more time. A lot of people are unhappy and we do not have a good first impression of this place. read more

Have been anxious to try this new restaurant in Berry Farms since we've been watching it being built for quite awhile. First impression was that it is clean and modern. Bar area was about 70% full. We weren't sure if we wanted to do happy hour or just have dinner since it was about 5:50 pm. The website said Happy Hour goes to 6:30pm but after asking the host who seemed unsure, he finally confirmed it only went until 6pm not 6:30. That should definitely be revised on your website. We decided just to do dinner. My husband ordered the burger and truffle fries which he enjoyed and upon the suggestion of the waitress I got the 30A seafood Cobb salad. The presentation of the salad was very nice and it tasted very refreshing. The deviled eggs are a great touch and the dressing is delicious. However, I quickly realized I barely had any seafood in my $30 salad. I had a little crab on the bottom and NO shrimp. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress, she immediately went back to the kitchen and returned shortly with 2 small shrimp on a plate. It was ridiculous! Seriously?? A $30 Seafood salad with two small shrimp and a small amount of crab on the bottom??? I chose not to complain since the salad was extremely tasty but what a shame that a new restaurant with a $30 seafood salad on the menu chooses to forget the most important and expensive part of the dish. No real apology, no manager in sight, no offer of any type of comp for screwing it up. In addition, most of the menu prices on the website are inaccurate and many of the items are nonexistent on the actual restaurant menu. We are all being squeezed financially nowadays so I think it's only fair to post up-to-date menus and prices. A couple dollars here and there over multiple menu items makes a big difference. We're torn about whether we'll be back or not since service was pretty indifferent and the food was good but is probably not worth the $$$. Would love to see it make it with the right adjustments. read more
