This place is almost, dare I say it, a bit nostalgic, the pizza is decent, yeah it starts frozen but it's the pretty good regardless. American pie is definitely better quality, but a thinner pie, and a much longer wait during peak times; this is more Greek style. The people seem to be equally grumpy at either pizza place. Have severe lactose intolerance but they refused to not put cheese on a pizza. Which sauce and meat every other pizza place would honor no cheese. The lady on the phone didn't offer anything else or any variation of the pizza. Ordered a chicken bacon ranch. Which when asked on the phone she said cheese chicken bacon and ranch. I was in Ludlow and I was looking for plain old regular food. After reading some Yelp reviews, I knew what I didn't want. I didn't want anything overpriced. I didn't want anything with pickled beets or goat cheese on it. And I certainly didn't want to sit in a chair lift while I ate my dinner. Geez. I just wanted regular American food. Ludlow Village Pizza fit the bill. Not sure what people are complaining about. It's a Village Pizza, they're almost all the same. My cheesesteak sub, and my french fries were good. It's not the classiest place, but it's not fair to say this place isn't as good as Dominoes. Is it a five-star establishment? Probably not. Probably more like 3.5 or 4 stars. But I'm giving 5 stars to balance out all the nitwits who couldn't get this place to live up to their big city expectations. I'm sure they can find what suits them. We recently visited Ludlow, and were looking for somewhere to take the kids to eat. The consensus was pizza and we wanted something quick. Despite seeing poor reviews, we figured it couldn't be too bad (but were wrong). First up, the place is pretty basic. While it wasn't dirty, it is much like a cafeteria. We went to order a large pizza, but were told the larges were "out". Meaning this is frozen pizza. We asked about putting olives on 1/4 of the pie and were told "no", they can only put toppings on 1/2 or full. They also only take cash only, which is not convenient especially since I assume the majority of traffic through this town is tourists. The pizza wasn't horrible, but there were puddles of oil on top, it was pretty salty, and the cheese slid everywhere. My kids aren't really picky as far as pizza, and they each were done after a slice, and resorted to eating the crust off some of the other slices. The pizza was ready pretty fast, and there is a good variety on the menu, but I can't say much about the ambiance (even for a takeout type place) or the pizza itself. read more

Let me begin by noting that I've never given a single star to ANY restaurant or eating establishment however one star even seems mildly generous for this location. 'Unfriendly' doesn't do justice when describing the staff at Village Pizza. The woman behind the counter was downright rude and nasty. Her response to every inquiry was short, disrespectful, and unnecessary. Keep in mind, this is a ski town in the midst of the winter season- why are you closing so early? Before 7:30pm the nasty woman put a magic-marker-handmade sign up next to the cash register that said 'DINING ROOM NOW CLOSED'. Again, Unnecessary. It's not like you're actually serving us anyway- we're lucky if you even look in our direction- well, aside from the rage-filled glare she flashed toward our table when she put the sign up. Village pizza is an eat in/takeout pizza place located in Ludlow, Vermont. The interior of the restaurant is vintage in a good kind of way. It kind of reminds me of pizza places that were built in the early 90s. The quality of the pizza seems to be dependent by the time of the year. In my experience, the pizza quality is better during ski season (which is a good thing because that's when they do the majority of their business). The wings are usually a bit too fired for my taste. The staff is always friendly and overall its not a bad place to go to have pizza and some beers. read more

Have eaten here off and on for years - It's the proverbial "Village Pizza". No, it's not gourmet type pizza, but it's good traditional pizza served hot by good folks at very reasonable wait times. I grew up on this pizza, so I'm a bit partial to this place. I now live in Massachusetts, but have to stop in here at least once while I'm in town. I will agree with a few other reviewers that cash only is a pain, but, I've been to places all over that do the same thing. For recommendations, I'd go with a pepperoni pizza, or an "oven hot" grinder, and add some wings to compliment whatever you're getting also. They have a creamy italian dressing which I almost always ask for, definitely ask for this with your greek salad if you're getting one. I ordered 2 large pizzas and when I received them they were the size of most mediums. I came in around dinner time and wanted a steak and cheese sub and was told the grill closes at 5 pm. This was on a Saturday night. The young gentleman at the counter was on his cell phone and acted as if I were bothering him. They also do not accept debit/ credit cards, so if you don't have cash you have to use their atmosphere which comes with a 2.00 fee. This will not be my first choice for pizza. read more

If you are going to gt pizza from here, bring cash. Not only do they not take cards they hav a ATM on prem that you can get cash from. There is a label on the ATM that informs you that Villag Pizza itself will charge you a $2 transaction fee. As if that's not bad enoug you can only get amax of $40 at a time. So if you have $70 in pizza you need to do it in 2 seperate transactions and Village Pizza will chrge you 2 seperate fees. Upon arriving we weren't even greeted by the young girl at the counter who seemed annoyed that we even existed. My boyfriend ordered a medium pizza (which he enjoyed because we were starving) I order the chicken parm (expecting that it came with pasta as it was on their dinner menu and almost 11 bucks) what I got was two pieces of breaded chicken and a side salad. Had to order a small side of pasta for an additional 5 bucks. And again, the girl behind the register was rude and uninviting. She answered our questions by pointing and any actual verbal response that we got was snarky. We have made coming to Ludlow a yearly tradition but we will stick to going to Mr. Darcy's rather than coming back where we clearly aren't wanted. I would like to note, there was another younger girl there who was incredibly friendly and understood the customer service aspect of her job. I commend her on a job well done with the customers she dealt with, and I recommend that the other girl take a vacation to chill her tude, or be replaced entirely by the girl who knows how to properly speak to people. read more

I wish I could give it zero stars. We were driving through Ludlow and wanted a quick bite to eat. We saw Village Pizza and thought we'd give it a try. We should have kept driving. We only wanted 4 slices but were told they don't sell slices, so we ordered the 14" pizza; the attendant wasn't very pleasant, but, oh well, maybe she was having a bad day. The pizza was disgusting. I would bet my last dollar that it was a frozen pizza. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better than this stuff.
