    Cheesesteak, sub, and french fries.

I was in Ludlow and I was looking for plain old regular food. After reading some Yelp reviews, I knew what I didn't want. I didn't want anything overpriced. I didn't want anything with pickled beets or goat cheese on it. And I certainly didn't want to sit in a chair lift while I ate my dinner. Geez. I just wanted regular American food. Ludlow Village Pizza fit the bill. Not sure what people are complaining about. It's a Village Pizza, they're almost all the same. My cheesesteak sub, and my french fries were good. It's not the classiest place, but it's not fair to say this place isn't as good as Dominoes. Is it a five-star establishment? Probably not. Probably more like 3.5 or 4 stars. But I'm giving 5 stars to balance out all the nitwits who couldn't get this place to live up to their big city expectations. I'm sure they can find what suits them. The rest of us can eat at Village Pizza.

    Menu, no large pizza available.

We recently visited Ludlow, and were looking for somewhere to take the kids to eat. The consensus was pizza and we wanted something quick. Despite seeing poor reviews, we figured it couldn't be too bad (but were wrong). First up, the place is pretty basic. While it wasn't dirty, it is much like a cafeteria. We went to order a large pizza, but were told the larges were "out". Meaning this is frozen pizza. We asked about putting olives on 1/4 of the pie and were told "no", they can only put toppings on 1/2 or full. They also only take cash only, which is not convenient especially since I assume the majority of traffic through this town is tourists. The pizza wasn't horrible, but there were puddles of oil on top, it was pretty salty, and the cheese slid everywhere. My kids aren't really picky as far as pizza, and they each were done after a slice, and resorted to eating the crust off some of the other slices. The pizza was ready pretty fast, and there is a good variety on the menu, but I can't say much about the ambiance (even for a takeout type place) or the pizza itself.

Robert is mad because I explained to him that we are being served frozen pizza at a pizzeria.

Service, decor, vibe, everything is unwelcoming here. Guy at the counter looks and acts like a grouch. Pizza is actually frozen like the ones you buy at the grocery store. Came even with the round cardboard cutout underneath...i cannot believe a restaurant can call themselves a pizzeria if they are just gonna thaw out a frozen tv dinner i could have got at shaw's groceries.

Best (only) pizza in Ludlow. Just beware, cash only. Of course they have an ATM onsite.

Village had the best pizza in Ludlow. The service is prompt and friendly. If you're in the area and in the mood for pizza...look no further!

Good for quick and easy food! Worked here for over 2 years and we have a good atmosphere and although small, we have a strong work force.

The best part about this place is the mozzarella sticks...and that's not saying much. Food is bad, staff is rude. Don't go there.

Ok for Vermont. Been going there for decades. Not NY but if your hungry it does it. Only cash is really silly for a pizza joint.

More relaxing, better food and we avoid rude people who seem to be all over ski areas. We've been coming to Coleman Brook Tavern for several years and it is perhaps the nicest dining venue in Okemo. There are three sit down restaurants in this resort; one at the main Clocktower complex, one at Solitude, and Coleman Brook. We like Coleman Brook, as well as its host complex, Jackson Gore, the best. We got here at the end of the ski season, skied through lunch and had a leisurely lunch after our ski day. No reservations needed. As usual, Coleman Brook Tavern is a quiet and welcoming place. We had a delicious Pear and Beet Salad that came with spinach, arugula, feta cheese and walnuts with a vinaigrette dressing, and added the chicken which was also excellent. We also had local brews from the nearby microbrew and that completed the day. I understand some of the bad reviews are a way to trash Vail's corporate ownership of the resort and some are the result of the turnover of staff. However, in the 15 or so times we've been here, we have always experienced excellent treatment and great food and ambiance.

In my nearly 30 years now working in, with, and patronizing the food and beverage industry, I've never experienced such repugnant service as what Suzy and I had at The Downtown Grocery. I should point out that we weren't just the usual tourist who come to Ludlow to ski. We actually lived here for several years, and I couldn't post this review until we moved away because of the owner's repeated behavior of attacking people on social media who disagree with or criticize him. The food here is "fine", it's not actually bad or anything. But it is tiny in portions (a rarity for Vermont), and it's overly "chef-y" without actually executing well. It's one of those places where the chef probably thinks that he would get a Michelin star if only they would come to see him, but I can tell you having eaten at over 100 cumulative Michelin stars in my life this is nowhere close. It fails in flavor, presentation, and execution. But again, not terrible. The setting is actually kind of nice too, somewhat homey which is juxtaposed and ruined by the arrogance of the staff. If you don't mind being guaranteed to wait well beyond your actual reservation time, and then waiting probably another hour just to get some meager first courses, then maybe this is the place for you? I doubt it though, there are so many options just in Ludlow alone, and even more that are worth the 45 minute drive to Woodstock or Manchester to avoid having to eat here if you want a "nice" meal. Whatever you do absolutely avoid coming any time near "stick season" or "mud season" (Vermonters will know) because you're guaranteed to get even worse service then. Ludlow has a ton of restaurants for such a small town, many of them quite good. This is the ONLY place we actively recommended friends and guests of ours to avoid. Even the crappy fake taco place down the street got occasional business over this place due entirely to the repeated piss poor attitude of the two owners.

Can't wait to come here for dinner sometime soon. Make sure you make a reservation!
