They even told me I must have ordered from a different restaurant since they couldn't look up my order. Luganos is a great restaurant located on the post road Stamford / Greenwich line. I have been a few times and the food is delicious. They also have 1/2 price wine on Sundays. The space is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. read more

Completely disappointed. Had a party of 12, and a reservation for730. Our table was ready when we arrived which was great. Downhill from there. We did not get our drinks for 45 minutes and bread was not placed on the table for over an hour. Appetizers arrived at 915 and by 930, we told the waitress and manager we were leaving. Manager apologized but what good is that when you have 12 hungry people walking out at 930 at night. The restaurant was completely understaffed with only 3 waiters and one bartender. In Greenwich for my 50th high school reunion. Grabbed some classmates and headed to Lugano. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious! We had the fig bruschetta-if you like goat cheese, it's a must-have! I had the eggplant rollatini which was great-thin slices of eggplant, rolled around creamy ricotta cheese. It was very loud, but the server made an effort and moved us away from other big parties-there were only 5 of us and we wanted to catch up. I had a delicious Pinot Grigio that was ice cold and really great. The service was good, the food was good and we had a wonderful time. read more

We came here a few times in the summer and sat outside which was really enjoyable - good food, great service. Unfortunately, our first meal, indoors, last night was a bit of a letdown. Still good food and service, but, wow, this place is SO loud. We tried to have an extended family meal so my son could catch up with his grandparents and they could barely have a conversation. It was a struggle and I was actually hoarse by the end of the night because I literally had to yell in order for my in-laws to hear me. We will be back but only during less crowded times or when the weather gets warmer and we can sit outside again. read more

Having heard good things about this place, I brought my Mother in for lunch on a weekday. It wasn't too crowded and I was excited to have some wine and figured the menu looked excellent. To start off our meals, we both ordered the shrimp cocktail. Adding a picture here, which does not do it justice in terms of how disgusting it truly was. All of the shrimps were bright yellow and rubbery. My mother and I were speechless that the waiter even thought this was acceptable to deliver upon seeing it. We told him that unfortunately we would not accept these, out of pure fear we would get ill. The waiter had an attitude about it, saying they were fresh but we insisted on sending them back. He later came out and said that the chef said the shrimp had been sitting next to yellow peppers and the water seeped into them, making them look so off color/texture. That made me have concerns about food safety, and we were too grossed out by the shrimp's appearance to enjoy our entrees which came after that. Sadly, I won't be going back. read more

Unsure WHY this specific location frequently changes names but sooo enjoyed Lugano's I would like to include positives so ALL can enjoy! Mother's Day - "....unquestionably the busiest holiday of the year....approximately 25% of American adults celebrate by going out to eat. ... When it comes to Mother's Day, most restaurants will be busy throughout the day...." Our dinner reservations were confirmed for 7:30P and while I was very concerned about reading reviews of "noisy atmosphere" we were fortunate, most of the dinner rush was winding down and BONUS - the tapas were excellent!!!!!!!! The meatballs, the roasted Brussel Sprouts, Fried Artichokes....the Wonderful assortment of very palate pleasing tastes and textures without being overly or under seasoned. With every bite came the instant reaction of 'Wow! O my GAWD! That's GREAT!!!!Our waitress was very accommodating and personable - and I did I mention the tapas were excellent?!?!?????? Perhaps I will revisit Lugano's and try an entree - although the Tapas would def. be the enticement alone to return (and bring others :-) Thank you Lugano's - continued success!!!!!!!!!! read more

We were visiting CT and someone recommended this place. It was a great experience. Thursday are exceptionally nice, since they have a live band playing. The service was great, the ambience was warm and welcoming. Unlike someone of the other places in this area it has great character, good food and is reasonably priced. I could not believe my ears. I wanted to purchase a dinner for 4 using the family menu that were recently offered. I actually had one such dinner and it was good. The women turned the business away saying, "we are not offering those menus anymore". No imagination, no attempt to help me. I am buying for a family who did me a favor. You really can't go wrong with the Molto/Spiga/Lugano italian restaurant group. Though the restaurants tend to the pricier side, the decor, menu options, and service are always impressive. We got the meatballs (pricey at 3.50 a meatball) and were blown away by the moisture in the turkey and the seasoning in the beef. Will have to try to spicy beef on our next visit. Penne alla vodka is always incredible, and their sauce is distinct from other restaurants' takes. Short rib ravioli was also impressive, and the Marsala sauce was perfectly reduced. Cannoli didn't need the probably store bought chocolate sauce, but filling was good. Will be back soon! read more

APPALLING!!! We were a small party of 5 people and our waiter tacked on a 20% gratuity to our bill. (Irrelevant really but the service was sub-par) I have personally never heard of this kind of a hefty gratuity added onto a bill of less than 6 people. Additionally this is usually printed on the bill or on the menu or at the very least the waiter should have called it to our attention. I understand that "service charges" are legal to impose but this was clearly listed as a "gratuity" on our bill. Very likely so the establishment can avoid the taxes. This is completely SLEAZY and UNDERHANDED!!! When we called this to the manager's attention he quickly removed the amount from our bill. I wish I had taken a pic of the receipt for proof of this practice. I hereby warn all who consider this restaurant to carefully review your bill. Better yet, choose a different place to have a meal! I will never eat at Lugano's again. read more

I've been here to eat before and had great food, but their customer service has been very poor time and again. First of all, there is limited parking with only valet option, second time I went we had to park down the street and walk because it was blocked off. I made a 6:45 reservation way ahead of time for my anniversary. We arrived and the hostess told us it would be a 10 minute wait for our table - not what you expect when you make a reservation, but not the worst thing in the world, so we ordered a drink while we waited. There was no room at the bar so we stood by the hostess desk. It took 10 minutes for her to bring us the bill, and another 10 to bring us the actual drinks. Not one mention of the table yet. She avoided eye contact with us the whole time, no apologies and no offer of free drinks/appetizers or anything to compensate for our wait. We waited for almost 40 minutes, until I walked over and asked how much longer it would be, since it was nearly 7:30 and we had a 6:45 reservation. She said as soon as the couple in the corner was finished we could have their table.....we left immediately. So they disregarded our reservation completely, couldn't even put a drink in our hand for 20 minutes, ignored us, and gave a half-hearted apology when we said we were leaving. The staff and manager are unbearable rude and unaccommodating. When I told them I could not eat dairy products their response was - have a salad. The place was empty and frankly, I am surprised they have lasted this long. It was a Saturday night. I found Lugano on yelp and was very pleased with the ambience and of course happy hour selection in wine etc and small bites. Certainly didn't need dinner after that. Lugano is a well-loved favorite for my family. The extensive menu is full of classic Italian dishes, but there are also a few more exciting dishes on the menu. I have a hard time getting anything but pasta when I go, but the brussels sprouts are absolutely amazing! When it's nice out, we can sometimes snag an outdoor table -- there's no view, as you are right up against some rock walls, but it's nice having the fresh air and slight breeze. I went here for the first time this weekend with 16 other girls. I had emailed Rose to make sure she could accommodate us and she replied so quickly and took care of everything. When I arrived, the tables were set up nicely. Our waiter was very attentive and they allowed us to stay and talk without feeling pressured to leave. The service was great, the decor was great, and everyone loved the food. Menu was full of delicious sounding choices. They have a nice separate room for parties as well and I was surprised that when the doors were closed you couldn't even hear much (there were lots of little kids in this party). One of my guests commented that it was nice that the restaurant was quiet enough for us to really talk and not scream at each other to be heard. I think Lugano is a good find and I plan on going there again with my boyfriend and my family. read more

First of all, this restaurant is so loud that I couldn't hear my husband talk. I walked out of there after dinner with a headache. The food is ok. The wine list is pretty large. The tapas are interesting. We tried the fried calamari and Tuscan beans, which were both pretty good. My husband had the Chicken Scarpsriello for his main course. The portion was a decent size, but on the menu it didn't describe the dish as spicy. Good thing he like spicy food. I had the Parmesan Crusted Sole which was overcooked, soaked in butter, and not that tasty. I think for the high prices that they are charging, the food should be better and they should soundproof the restaurant. If I ever go back, I'll remember to bring earplugs! read more
