This place is great, they were really accommodating to an engagement after party I had here back in December. We had around 30 plus people in their bar area. Good food and overall lovely service. My friend and I had her 9 month old son with us and we were promptly told that we could not sit at the bar and thus not order off the happy hour menu. Obviously we weren't trying to sit at the bar with a baby but the manager was really rude. He said if they made accommodation for her they'd have to make it for everyone. Which isn't how accommodations work. Any parent of a young child knows how hard it is to get out of the house. It would've caused her more struggle and stress to leave so we stayed but the lack of consideration from the one employee was a turn off and I'd never go back. read more

Came here specifically for Happy Hour and the host was rude and not very accommodating regarding finding a spot at the bar (happy hour food & wine are only available at the bar). So, I simply ignored him and quickly found two spots at the bar. We ordered a dozen oysters (good) and artichoke fritti (soggy, unseasoned and tasteless). Very mediocre. Seated at the bar, I was being dripped on from the ceiling vent above, then moved my seat to another spot at the bar and the dripping happened again. BEST CANNOLI IN THE WORLD! Prior to coming here I didn't like cannolis, but my bf always wanted me to try them. Went here today cause we've been house hunting in CT and the Cannolis are TO DIE FOR!!!! Will be dreaming about the cannolis until I come back! The restaurant was very busy, but also very noisy. Was difficult to hear the diner across the table from you. And could barely hear the music. Otherwise the food was good. Our waiter did a great job recommending a few dishes and helping us decide between two wines. They have a very nice wine selection and reasonable considering the area. Where do I begin, Service, was poor. I was not offered bread or checked on for 25 minutes after my initial interaction. I had to ask if bread was provided, ask again for my server for beverage refills. When dinner came, I was not offered cheese or pepper, Italian restaurant right? My risotto was nothing more than saffron colored yellow rice with gravy on top. Which is fine, but don't offer it as risotto. I was very disappointed, I did speak with the "manager" early on. This was met with a lack of concern, at best. I can't blame the lack of service on the number of Patrons. For a Sunday, Father's Day at 6:15 it was surprisingly empty. Discovered Lugano's Dec 2022 and have returned 6x since! The food & service are fabulous! Menu is vast ; it's always difficult to choose what to order. The food presentation rates 5 stars. The 5- star staff makes customers feel special. If you are shy, do not mention it's your birthday, though...you'll get sung to along with a slice of a mouth-watering dessert with a candle! The atmosphere is noisy so be aware of that if it's a concern. I can't rave enough about this place! Welcome to Greenwich! I have been to lugano 4 times now and I love it! Just what Greenwich needed! The atmosphere is beautiful with a big bar, booths and communal seating. Decor is gorgeous with lots of warm wood and industrial steel. Great location right on the post road and wonderful terrace in the front. The menu really shines above the other restaurants(I love dolce Cubano) owned by the same group. The tapas offer great selections - very similar to the other places. What really shines through is the "salumeria" and the pastas! I've tried the better part of the entire salumeria menu and it is to die for. The meats all come out sliced super thin...ready to melt in your mouth. Best choice is the speck and the ham coppa! Also very nice that all the meats are paired off with a mix of spicy pickled vegetables. You can't go wrong with the salumi! The pastas are all out of this world. Smaller portions are great to use as a starter or to finish off a round of tapas. Angel hair with vegetables and the black spaghetti stand out. Both dishes taste like authentic Italian cooking! So good. Haven't been for lunch yet but last night o saw a sign saying brunch in the weekends with unlimited mimosa and Bloody Mary. I'll be there! read more

This is a solid choice for dinner in Greenwich, great service, decent food (that's hard to come by in Greenwich lol), roomy so good for groups, easy to get a reservation and not overpriced. My husband and I just came in Sunday evening around 630 and got a nice table by the window. Everyone was very attentive - from making recommendations to bringing food out promptly, to noticing that we needed Parm cheese and red crushed pepper. The menu is pretty big so you can get all varieties. We had- - the smallest meat and cheese plate. All combo plates come with strachecella (sp?) a creamy burrata type for spreading. Was ok. They kindly substituted two soppresata for me,the spicy and sweet instead of prosciutto which I don't like. Normally it's that with the cheese and salami of choice. The plate also came with pickle veg and bread. - we had clams casino. I've had better. The bacon was a bit over cooked, and lacked flavor and there were too many breadcrumbs. The clams were good as was the lemon sauce with oregano but a red sauce would have been good. - we had eggplant rollatini which was god. Great red sauce. For dinner my husband had delicious chicken Parm which is hearty and came with penne, and I had the spaghetti Lugano which was with shrimp. Very yummy. We were to full for dessert. But I would get that upon next time and get the chocolate molten lava cake yum. Overall I would say food is 3.5-4 but people are so nice makes it a solid 4 Star. Will be back. Prices for entrees are in the mid $20s which isn't terrible for what you get. read more

I was there yesterday at 3:00 with a sizable group for happy hour. Immediately, wait staff & management told us we couldn't occupy more than 2 tables because they needed the space "for other customers" that I guess they were able to, with their magical powers, predict were on the way. In the hour we stayed no new customers arrived. I ordered a margarita. It had so much ice in it that I could barely get my straw 1/4 of the way down. The bill came to $7.52. I left a ten and they brought back $2. I guess they like to round up! What a disaster! read more

I am never disappointed dining here. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly & knowledgeable & the space itself is so light & welcoming. I had the bright & flavorful Capellini Primavera. The vegetables were crisp & the pasta was perfectly al dente. My table & I also shared a gorgeous platter of salumi, prosciutto, creamy fresh cheese, crusty bread & pickled vegetables. Met some people there on a Friday night - it was crazy busy and crowded. Valet parking was backed up out onto the street, so I parked down the street and walked. It was super crowded at the bar, and one of the people I was with got shoved away from a chair. Not classy at all! We put our name down for a table and waited probably 40 minutes. A party got there after us, got seated before us, and didn't like the table they were seated at - got moved to the table that was supposed to be ours. The table we wound up with was right next to the noisy, crowded bar. Not really conducive to conversation. The good news is that the food was excellent. Started off with the brussels sprouts appetizer which was very good. Three out of four of us had penne a la vodka - one without chicken. The other had a calamari salad. When we got the check, we got charged for chicken on all of the pasta dishes. When we went to pay, three of us gave cash, and the other person gave a card. The whole bill was charged to the card at first. Took at least 10-15 minutes to straighten that out and get the right amount charged. Not sure I'll go back - at least not on a Friday night. The food was very good but pricey, and it was very crowded and noisy. read more

Amazing dinner. Amazing service with Pedro leading the way. Order so many things that were OUTSTANDING. Ordered the lamb sliders which were out of this world. Also ordered the lobster with creamy polenta and it wad DIVINE. Ordered one turkey meatball and two beef meatballs and it was ALL SO DELICIOUS. For dinner we order a tuna salad, seared scallops and their special of shrimp risotto .. AMAZING. Highly recommended for a romantic date night and they ate ready to celebrate with their private room. It should be re-named Lugano's Formaggeria! Everything about this place is completely cheesy. Except for the buratta, which was completely uninspiring. (Note to chef: maybe sprinkle a pinch of coarse sea salt on the burrata so guests don't have to use the salt shakers that must have been bought at auction when City Limits Diner closed). Aside from a decent cocktail, I would say this place was just marginally better than Olive Garden, and yet not as good as they typical restaurant you might find in a Marriot hotel. read more

Best kept secret(?) in Greenwich. Took me forever try to it out. Before I start, I want to disagree strongly with $$ and casual attire. This place is a solid $$$ and while I literally ate there with my kids in a flannel shirt and track pants, I would have felt uncomfortable relative to the sport coats the other distinguished older Greenwich types wore at the bar were it. It 5:30 and the place mostly empty. It was the first day of my diet (should have put it off a day) and had the beet and goat cheese salad with salmon - excellent. Jumbo shrimp cocktail was great. But it was my kid's orders that made me regret getting the salad. My daughter got the kids steak with fries and cauliflower. I could have had that and it would have been the finest meal I've had in a while. The steak was cooked perfectly and looked amazing, but it was the fries that really knocked our socks off. My kids are fry fanatics, I like them, and we were all kind of in awe at how good the fries were - thin cut, with rosemary - amazing. My son got the macaroni and cheese, which was simply gourmet - we destroyed it. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning and cozy, with gigantic leather booths and the equally impressive bar adjacent to the dining room. The menu, atmosphere, and food quality reminded me a lot of the best Sonoma County wine bars such as Willie's in Healdsburg (but with a Greenwich clientele), which was the local favorite when I lived there and probably still is. Finally, the service was outstanding - but, I mean, it was 5:30 and we weren't exactly the most challenging table. However, it was clear that the wait staff felt that meant we received extra hands, all with big genuine smiles and an extremely friendly and professional demeanor. This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Greenwich now and I hope it's doing well, it's in a location that's easy to drive by and not notice until it's too late to make the turn. read more

In the past I have always liked going to Lugano's for a good dinner, pleasant atmosphere and convenient location. The last few times have been disappointing. The attitude of the owner/manager? have been negative to say the least. The restaurant business is a people business and half of the success comes from the relationships you form. This can mean accommodating seating whenever possible, air cond/heat without an attitude as if he is doing you a favor. Also, the dinners are not the same quality as they have been. We took a friend out for her birthday and the portions were less and the cocktails not worth $14.00. Sorry! Wish we were happier but things have changed at Lugano's. read more

I really want to give Lugano 5 stars because the food so so good but the service was just not there. To start, the menu is huge and everything sounds amazing. They have (expensive) tapas as well as main dishes. They are also very accommodating-I asked for a pasta dish with a sauce from a different dish and it was no problem. My husband has allergies and they were super accommodating with that as well. As far as the service goes, it wasn't particularly bad but it certainly wasn't good and for the cost, I would expect more. For example, my husband and I each started our meal with a glass of wine. Not one time did anyone clear our empty glasses or ask if we wanted another glass. Our waitress never came to check on us and only came to our table when we flagged her down. The table behind us sat for at least 45 minutes with a table full of empty dishes and glasses. Although they seemed happy and were talking, there is no reason they needed to sit with all those empties around them. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Lugano and I will be back, I just hope the service improves a little. read more

Finally found another gem! You cannot beat their happy hour which is daily and has dollar oysters and half priced bottles if wine. Tapas and charcuterie board was amazing. Service was also amazing and great atmosphere with easy parking and plenty of room inside and outside to really enjoy a relaxing night/day out. Since moving to old Greenwich we didn't expect much of a scene or vibe, but we were completely blown away with the atmosphere. The food is great and their wine list is very fair compared to other restaurants in the area. Have always enjoyed the food but be cautious about the noise during the live band nights. We have also ordered out for take out during COVID and the staff was super appreciative so we highly recommend taking out here and supporting our local restaurants!! read more

MY BOYFRIEND AND I GOT FOOD POISONING HERE LAST NIGHT! I have been close to 10 times before. I went last night with friends for dinner. Service was slow, so much so that our waiter gave up? It wasn't a busy night (wednesday) and I had to flag down another waitress to ask to order and she became our waitress after that. I ordered the calamari (which wasn't great), my boyfriend and friend shared the truffle mac and cheese and beef carpaccio. I had the majority of the calamari and my boyfriend had 2 pieces. Less than an hour after getting home I was violently ill, the morning after my boyfriend was ill too, but not to the same extent. My friend didn't have any of the calamari and feels fine. I've had stomach bugs before but this was so much worse. Will not be going back even though it's one of my friends favourite restaurants. read more

I love Lugano. It was my second time coming here, and I was yet again nothing less than impressed. We were seated right away and promptly asked what our water preference was. We opted for Tapas because the more delicious things in our mouths, the merrier. We got: Brussels (my absolute favorite), lobster polenta, meatball tasting, shrimp scampi, lamb chops, scallops, and grilled octopus. Everything was amazing, our waitress was extremely attentive to our needs. We ordered a bottle of wine for ourselves and it was quickly brought to the table. Following dinner, i ordered an espresso and my boyfriend ordered a black coffee, it took about 25 minutes to come out because they had apparently run out of coffee filters, but the waitress was so nice about it and comped it.
