We found Luigino's Parmigiano while looking for a local BYOB for an easy Saturday date night, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, with both indoor and outdoor dining, but they were expecting us for our reservation and seated us right away. The front-of-house staff was warm, friendly and even remembered my husband from when he called to make the reservation. The food was the standout. I ordered the short rib, which arrived with quite the presentation, a huge bone topped with incredibly tender, shaved short rib and mixed vegetables. It was delicious and the portion was enormous. I shared some with my husband at dinner, took the rest home, and we still managed to turn the leftovers into an omelet a couple of days later! My husband ordered the double-thick pork chop and loved it. We also shared the fried shrimp and calamari appetizer, and both the marinara and aioli were excellent. One small area for improvement would be helping the younger waitstaff become a little more comfortable guiding guests through the menu. When we asked for recommendations and what dishes the restaurant was especially known for, it took a little prompting before we got to Parmigiano. Our server was perfectly nice. It just would have elevated the experience to have someone confidently say, "This is what we do exceptionally well, and here's what I recommend." Overall, though, we had exactly the kind of evening we needed. We brought a bottle of wine, relaxed, talked, enjoyed the atmosphere and genuinely felt like we had gotten away for a while. Our bill came in at the $100 range, and we left completely satisfied. Great food, generous portions, a welcoming atmosphere and excellent value. We'll absolutely return. read more

What a great recommendation in Montclair - don't sleep on this place. Big portions, good flavors, great staff. There was four of us and we split two entries, chicken parm and eggplant parm. The eggplant was sliced thin and the chicken was massive. Great tasting sauce; my only complaint was deli sliced mozzarella. We had Caci e Pepe and bolognese pasta dishes too. While good tasting sauce, the Caci e Pepe sauce was a little too runny. Great zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and prosciutto and melon appetizers. It's a byob place so bring favorite. Come hungry. Portion sizes are almost comical, especially the excellent chicken parm and eggplant Parmigiana. Table for 6 mid week lunch. Decor offers a taste of Italy and adds to the charm. Started with a few apps and a chicken parm for the table to share. The Carciofi alla Giudia, the classic Jewish-Roman deep fried artichokes were beautifully presented. A good bit firmer than you'd find in Rome but were still well enjoyed and recommended. Tonno salad with fresh seared tuna was plentiful and packed with flavor. Speaking of flavor the porchetta sandwich was rich and delicious. Really this is closer to a bbq pork than authentic porchetta but still recommended. The star of the show is the chicken parm and eggplant parm. The eggplant was delicate, thinly sliced melt in your mouth. Luckily you get a huge plate. Chicken parm is also excellent and HUGE. While there is $10 plate fee if sharing a main they are fine if you order several items and share all. Very generous with their shaved Parmesan if requested. Prices on the higher side but not all that bad considering the quantity. This feels more like the type of place you come to with a large group than as a couple. Unless of course you are very hungry. Are you kidding me! What a meal!! We meet some friends right off the plane. We drove to this nice little restaurant in Montclair that was amazing! We ordered a bunch of stuff to share amongst 6 of us today. We started with the Fried Artichokes, Meatballs, and a chicken Parmigiana. Huge portion of chicken Parmigiana, very flavorful meatballs 3 in an order and the 3 very sizable fried artichokes. Joshua our waiter, was amazing and made sure we tried lots of different items from the menu. Then after we finished that, we had the beet salad, a salad with rare tuna, Eggplant Parmigiana and a pork panini. The Eggplant parm was so light and delicious! not a huge fan of fennel but the salads were delicious. The sandwich was full of flavor and made perfectly. Amazing place! Plenty of outside tables, we were able to sit immediately outside while tables inside were all reserved. The inside is super cute and lots of floral motifs and it reminded me of Italy. It's a little cramped (tables close together) and very loud inside. The waitress was super friendly and attentive, ice water brought over immediately. Food came out so quick. Huge portions!!! I got chicken parm and it was enough for 4 people. Best chicken parm I have had in a while. The mozzarella cheese tasted like fresh mozzarella, super good quality and the tomato sauce was sweet but not too sweet, it's a really solid tomato sauce. My friend got the wild boar pasta and we shared both dishes. The pasta was huge as well and enough for 3 people to share. So much meat in it! Super soft and tender. Beyond fantastic! Portions are very generous! We had 3 apps- fritto misto, charcuterie and a fried marinated artichoke dish! Never had anything like it before! They are known for their huge portions of varying parmigiana dishes which are perfect for sharing with a plate charge of $10 extra, but most people ordered their own to take home their leftovers for another meal. Made a reservation to celebrate a friends birthday after seeing countless videos on how amazing the food is here. Staff was very friendly! We ordered a handful of appetizers each was better than the next. I ordered the "infamous" chicken parm which surpassed my high expectations. A handful of others had the tableside polenta with short ribs which looked impeccable as well. We ended the night with the bombolini.. don't miss out on those little pieces of heaven. Food wise our experience was incredible however- like many Montclair hot spots - seating was extremely tight. My chair was constantly getting bumped into by the table behind us and in order to go to the bathroom we had to climb over 2 to 3 tables while other guests were eating. This place hit a high note with us, many of the dishes were creatively put together and well executed. The roasted lamb pinsa was as innovative as it was delicious. The lamb and ricotta melted in your mouth. Sometimes a bit of lemon, sweetness from the onion or heat from the chili kick in. The bread was crispy and thin, but a bit thick to chew. This beat the best pizza we had in Italy. The short rib polenta was just as good, the corn had a cheese flavor. It worked well with the shredded beef that had some tomato in it. My wife had shrimp wrapped in prosciutto, a combo that is new to us. It created a slightly salty shrimp, with a bit of basil accent from the sauce. The sautéed spinach added color and had a hint of garlic flavor. For desert the tiramisu was not overpowering in any way. The cheese and liquor were there, along with a gentle sweetness. Prefer atleast a 2 feet of space between other tables but I would say there was barely a foot between. Almost no room on my table to host apps and entrees on it. Entree wise, the stuffed gnocchi was out of this world. I would come back to this restaurant for that dish alone. What a great place! Found this restaurant on Social Media. It's a small authentic Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Montclair NJ. There is street parking, but up the block is a parking garage. It is BYOB. The decor looks like you are on the amalfi coast, there are lemon trees situated throughout the restaurant. Reservations are recommended and it can get very noisy. They are known for their parm dishes which did not disappoint. We opened with the meatballs and the burrata. For dessert we had the gelato and the Bomboloni. Lauren the hostess was a doll, once she realized I traveled from Staten Island she introduced me to the chef and his son. This is an ideal place for a special occasion. Before you even walk in, the door is adorned in vines and flowers and you just know you are about to be wowed. And then you walk through the door and yep, sure enough, an absolutely stunning space. Our group of 4 met for lunch around 12 on a weekday and although we had a res, it wasn't too busy at all (but I do think a dinner reservation would be a must). They are BYOB but if you are looking to skip the alc my recommendation would be to get the blood orange soda, even if it is just for the adorable Italian can. We got a margarita pizza and the Frito Misto (calamari & shrimp) for the table. Both delicious and big portions. The lunch menu is mostly paninis, pastas and pizzas, but there are so many options of everything. I decided to get the Chicken Milanese panini: breaded chicken cutlet, arugula, fresh mozz, basil... it was delicious and just as incredible the next day when I had the second half for lunch. I've been dying to check out Luigino's and I'm so glad I finally stopped by. I only came for lunch, so I'd still love to try dinner. Lunch was still an incredible and delicious experience though. First things first, the exterior of the space is absolutely stunning, so I was wowed before even stepping inside. They did such a great job of decorating with pink florals and it's so photogenic. The inside is equally gorgeous and has such a homey and cozy feel. The lunch menu is pretty large and you can find all of the staples like pizzas, sandwiches and salads plus some of their entrees like parms and pastas. We started off with table pizza (a must) and some perfectly fried calamari and shrimp. For my main I had a sandwich with prosciutto, salami and fresh mutz. This is my husband and I's second time here. I didn't think they could top our first visit, boy was I wrong. We brought our family this time and Liigino's was just as good if not better this visit. I was super excited to try this new restaurant I saw on tik tok. However I had a reservation at 8:30 and had to wait half an hour to be seated. I think the management needs to do better planning for reservations since there were also so many people outside who had a reservation who ended up waiting. I would have gave this 5 stars if the organization and management had better planning. I did like the food however. The service in terms of ordering and getting the food was fast but most likely as they wanted everyone out since they were closing in an hour. I got the chicken parm which was humongous and super fresh! The only con is you get charged $10 if you share with someone which is crazy. Last night I decided to visit luiginos parmigiana again, it's been almost a year since my first time dining there, and I must say it did not disappoint. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was made to perfection and tasted amazing. This time, I decided to try a few different dishes the chicken parm was excellent, but the fresh pasta with black truffles was definitely the highlight of the night. Delicious! Came here with a couple of friends for the first time and I have no idea why I waited so long to come here! I made reservations online and glad I did because it was pretty busy. We were all greeted by the friendly hostess and seated on time. It's a BYOB so we brought wine and prosecco which our server put on ice right away. This place is a solid 4.5 for me. The food is great and for most of the dishes - the flavors were extremely well thought out. The times I've been here, I've really enjoyed ordering the specials. From their main menu (that doesn't change), I enjoy the meat dishes more than their pasta dishes. I've gotten their appetizers twice and the fried items are delicious! This place doesn't sell wine, but if you do bring your own and want it chilled, you can ask - the staff is very accommodating. The ambiance is great here - the lighting is not too dark and not too bright. The entrance doorway was a nice surpise when I first came here (smaller than I thought) but you step into a fairly sizeable and spacious restaurant. The interior with the brick, twigs/vines, and oranges/lemons makes it feel sophisticated and cozy. They changed up the decorations around Christmas time and it was beautiful! read more

Okay, I might get a little hate for this ... but Italian is not my favorite category of restaurant food types. But Luigino's was delicious! From the fresh bread to the canned soda. But the polento and chicken Parm were full of flavor! Most places have the broccoli rabe but the garlic is usually not sautéed to have the oil catch the flavor of the garlic. But this restaurant had it overflowing! The down side is that their parmigiana meals have a fee for splitting. The waiter was friendly and attentive.
