Been wanting to come here for a while and came last night for a date night. The ambience is so cute and it looks like you are in Italy. We got a few different apps and the Chicken Parm and Cacho e Pepe for dinner, both really delicious. Our waitress was attentive and fast even with the busy service. It is also BYOB which I love and the prices are fair. I would definitely recommend to anyone and will be back!

Beyond fantastic! Portions are very generous! We had 3 apps- fritto misto, charcuterie and a fried marinated artichoke dish! Never had anything like it before! They are known for their huge portions of varying parmigiana dishes which are perfect for sharing with a plate charge of $10 extra, but most people ordered their own to take home their leftovers for another meal. Entrees were all excellent and the donut dessert was the fluffiest I have ever eaten! BYOB too! You definitely need to make reservations. Parking deck right across the street. $2 an hour. We already made reservations to come back!

Okay, this place is really nice but super crowded. There is barely any space to move! The waitress were standing there the entire time watching people eat because there was just no spaces Regardless, the food was amazingggg omg to die for. A little on the expensive side but for a special occasion I would definitely go back

Awesome experience at this wonderful restaurant in in Montclair. Been around for 3 years severing massive parm dishes from veal to chicken to eggplant. The veal was done perfect. Service was great and you gotta love BYOB. Worth the visit but be careful of parking and the rules in the area. It was hard to get a spot. Cheers

Made a reservation to celebrate a friends birthday after seeing countless videos on how amazing the food is here. Staff was very friendly! We ordered a handful of appetizers each was better than the next. I ordered the "infamous" chicken parm which surpassed my high expectations. A handful of others had the tableside polenta with short ribs which looked impeccable as well. We ended the night with the bombolini.. don't miss out on those little pieces of heaven. Food wise our experience was incredible however- like many Montclair hot spots - seating was extremely tight. My chair was constantly getting bumped into by the table behind us and in order to go to the bathroom we had to climb over 2 to 3 tables while other guests were eating. Just something worth noting- BUT even with all that said I will be back because the level of service and food was THAT good.

This place hit a high note with us, many of the dishes were creatively put together and well executed. The roasted lamb pinsa was as innovative as it was delicious. The lamb and ricotta melted in your mouth. Sometimes a bit of lemon, sweetness from the onion or heat from the chili kick in. The bread was crispy and thin, but a bit thick to chew. This beat the best pizza we had in Italy. The short rib polenta was just as good, the corn had a cheese flavor. It worked well with the shredded beef that had some tomato in it. My wife had shrimp wrapped in prosciutto, a combo that is new to us. It created a slightly salty shrimp, with a bit of basil accent from the sauce. The sautéed spinach added color and had a hint of garlic flavor. For desert the tiramisu was not overpowering in any way. The cheese and liquor were there, along with a gentle sweetness. Innovative or award winning, no, but it was still good. The service was excellent and on cue. If anything, the stereo system made it difficult to hear my wife due to her soft voice.

What a great place! Found this restaurant on Social Media. It's a small authentic Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Montclair NJ. There is street parking, but up the block is a parking garage. It is BYOB. The decor looks like you are on the amalfi coast, there are lemon trees situated throughout the restaurant. Reservations are recommended and it can get very noisy. They are known for their parm dishes which did not disappoint. We opened with the meatballs and the burrata. For dessert we had the gelato and the Bomboloni. Lauren the hostess was a doll, once she realized I traveled from Staten Island she introduced me to the chef and his son. Very family oriented restaurant. I would definitely go back!

This is my husband and I's second time here. I didn't think they could top our first visit, boy was I wrong. We brought our family this time and Liigino's was just as good if not better this visit. We had fried calamari and shrimp, meatballs, mozzarella with tomato for appetizers. Our dinners were, polenta with short rib Ragu, spaghetti carbonara, and let's not forget the massive chicken parm. We also squeezed in deserts and cappuccino. The atmosphere was beautiful and everyone that works here is so pleasant. Can't wait to go back.

Went this past weekend for a date night. Ambiance was nice. Restaurant was a bit too congested for my taste. Prefer atleast a 2 feet of space between other tables but I would say there was barely a foot between. Almost no room on my table to host apps and entrees on it. Entree wise, the stuffed gnocchi was out of this world. I would come back to this restaurant for that dish alone. Came here for the chicken parm which I don't think was anything to go crazy about really. Overall a nice restaurant.

This is an ideal place for a special occasion. Before you even walk in, the door is adorned in vines and flowers and you just know you are about to be wowed. And then you walk through the door and yep, sure enough, an absolutely stunning space. Our group of 4 met for lunch around 12 on a weekday and although we had a res, it wasn't too busy at all (but I do think a dinner reservation would be a must). They are BYOB but if you are looking to skip the alc my recommendation would be to get the blood orange soda, even if it is just for the adorable Italian can. We got a margarita pizza and the Frito Misto (calamari & shrimp) for the table. Both delicious and big portions. The lunch menu is mostly paninis, pastas and pizzas, but there are so many options of everything. I decided to get the Chicken Milanese panini: breaded chicken cutlet, arugula, fresh mozz, basil... it was delicious and just as incredible the next day when I had the second half for lunch. It came with some parm crusted chips on the side. A great spot that I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful Italian meal and a beautiful place.

I've been dying to check out Luigino's and I'm so glad I finally stopped by. I only came for lunch, so I'd still love to try dinner. Lunch was still an incredible and delicious experience though. First things first, the exterior of the space is absolutely stunning, so I was wowed before even stepping inside. They did such a great job of decorating with pink florals and it's so photogenic. The inside is equally gorgeous and has such a homey and cozy feel. The lunch menu is pretty large and you can find all of the staples like pizzas, sandwiches and salads plus some of their entrees like parms and pastas. We started off with table pizza (a must) and some perfectly fried calamari and shrimp. For my main I had a sandwich with prosciutto, salami and fresh mutz. The bread was perfectly crunchy and had the most delicious olive oil. I definitely want to stop by for dinner and try some parm, but for lunch this is also a great option.

Do you have a room for smaller parties (say 20-25)?

Unfortunately we don't have private rooms. It would be in an open dining room amongst other guests dining. During dinner shifts we can accommodate up to 15-20 people at either 5pm or 8pm. Hope that helps!

    Is it dog friendly?

I would assume inside service dogs... outside why not. Calling would be best.

Are shorts & polo acceptable attite?

    Yes

    Is it a BYOB?

    Yes it is BYOB

Is there parking on site or nearby?

There is no on-site parking but there is a new parking deck just a block away.

    Yes. Call (973) 352-1511

Also there is a parking lot, and they were offering valet when we went. I enjoyed the food I had as an entree (steak frites). What I didn't like was our waiter was constantly trying to up charge us. He kept asking if we wanted to add specific things to all our orders and even if we said no, he still insisted on it. This even occurred with shots of alcohol. I explicitly said I was driving and didn't want it and still shots were brought out with out us even asking. We thought maybe he was being very nice. Or maybe something was included we didn't know about ( what was added were things like a Caesar salad, Brussel sprouts, and sweet potato fries so it easy to see how we didn't see it was things out of the ordinary included as sides for meals) or we were for some reason getting something comped, but that was not the case. Our bill was ASTRONOMICAL. If we didn't have these items we didn't want added on, it would have been fine but this type of way of doing business makes me never want to go back. We considered fighting the bill, but we did eat the food because at the time we thought it was either included or comped. Please be aware of this if you visit this restaurant, and if you are insisted upon adding things to your order learn from our mistake and ask more questions if it's included or make sure you explicitly say NO.

From a food perspective, our meal initiated with a basket of some of the best rolls I had ever had. They were large, fluffy, and doughy with a hint of crispiness from a light toasting. We then shared the Veal and Beef Meatball, which was gigantic but still managed to have the ideal texture. It was also beautifully seasoned and served in what the chef called his "grandma's plum tomato sauce", which was divine! The sauce was thick and hearty, so when that was paired with pecorino cheese and basil oil, it really made for a fabulous dish. I even cut off a small piece to put inside my roll with a spoonful of sauce - chef's kiss! After that, we enjoyed some of the house-made pasta dishes, tasting each in a family-style format. The Squid Ink Bucatini was tossed with scallops, shrimp, and jumbo lump crab in a seafood tomato sauce. I did not love the briny finish to the sauce or that some of the scallops were chewy. The Tagliatelle with Duck Bolognese, tomatoes, and carrots was good, but I prefer my pomodoro sauce without the addition of a "light cream". Lastly, the special Spaghetti came with lobster, crab, and peas in vodka sauce. That one was definitely my favorite. While I do not love peas, the sauce was rich and flavorful. Across these last two dishes, I thought the pasta was a tad overcooked and could have been more al dente; the bucatini consistency was more inline with my preferences. Overall, I thought the food at Laboratorio Kitchen was above average, but that the service and atmosphere helped elevate the place. I would definitely consider going back to try some of their other dishes.
