Started with a few apps and a chicken parm for the table to share. The Carciofi alla Giudia, the classic Jewish-Roman deep fried artichokes were beautifully presented. A good bit firmer than you'd find in Rome but were still well enjoyed and recommended. Tonno salad with fresh seared tuna was plentiful and packed with flavor. Speaking of flavor the porchetta sandwich was rich and delicious. Really this is closer to a bbq pork than authentic porchetta but still recommended. The star of the show is the chicken parm and eggplant parm. The eggplant was delicate, thinly sliced melt in your mouth. Luckily you get a huge plate. Chicken parm is also excellent and HUGE. While there is $10 plate fee if sharing a main they are fine if you order several items and share all. Very generous with their shaved Parmesan if requested. Prices on the higher side but not all that bad considering the quantity. This feels more like the type of place you come to with a large group than as a couple. Unless of course you are very hungry. Are you kidding me! What a meal!! We meet some friends right off the plane. We drove to this nice little restaurant in Montclair that was amazing! We ordered a bunch of stuff to share amongst 6 of us today. We started with the Fried Artichokes, Meatballs, and a chicken Parmigiana. Huge portion of chicken Parmigiana, very flavorful meatballs 3 in an order and the 3 very sizable fried artichokes. Joshua our waiter, was amazing and made sure we tried lots of different items from the menu. Then after we finished that, we had the beet salad, a salad with rare tuna, Eggplant Parmigiana and a pork panini. The Eggplant parm was so light and delicious! not a huge fan of fennel but the salads were delicious. The sandwich was full of flavor and made perfectly. Amazing place! Plenty of outside tables, we were able to sit immediately outside while tables inside were all reserved. The inside is super cute and lots of floral motifs and it reminded me of Italy. It's a little cramped (tables close together) and very loud inside. The waitress was super friendly and attentive, ice water brought over immediately. Food came out so quick. Huge portions!!! I got chicken parm and it was enough for 4 people. Best chicken parm I have had in a while. The mozzarella cheese tasted like fresh mozzarella, super good quality and the tomato sauce was sweet but not too sweet, it's a really solid tomato sauce. Beyond fantastic! Portions are very generous! We had 3 apps- fritto misto, charcuterie and a fried marinated artichoke dish! Never had anything like it before! They are known for their huge portions of varying parmigiana dishes which are perfect for sharing with a plate charge of $10 extra, but most people ordered their own to take home their leftovers for another meal. Made a reservation to celebrate a friends birthday after seeing countless videos on how amazing the food is here. Staff was very friendly! We ordered a handful of appetizers each was better than the next. I ordered the "infamous" chicken parm which surpassed my high expectations. A handful of others had the tableside polenta with short ribs which looked impeccable as well. We ended the night with the bombolini.. don't miss out on those little pieces of heaven. Food wise our experience was incredible however- like many Montclair hot spots - seating was extremely tight. My chair was constantly getting bumped into by the table behind us and in order to go to the bathroom we had to climb over 2 to 3 tables while other guests were eating. This place hit a high note with us, many of the dishes were creatively put together and well executed. The roasted lamb pinsa was as innovative as it was delicious. The lamb and ricotta melted in your mouth. Sometimes a bit of lemon, sweetness from the onion or heat from the chili kick in. The bread was crispy and thin, but a bit thick to chew. This beat the best pizza we had in Italy. The short rib polenta was just as good, the corn had a cheese flavor. It worked well with the shredded beef that had some tomato in it. My wife had shrimp wrapped in prosciutto, a combo that is new to us. It created a slightly salty shrimp, with a bit of basil accent from the sauce. The sautéed spinach added color and had a hint of garlic flavor. For desert the tiramisu was not overpowering in any way. The cheese and liquor were there, along with a gentle sweetness. There is street parking, but up the block is a parking garage. It is BYOB. The decor looks like you are on the amalfi coast, there are lemon trees situated throughout the restaurant. This is my husband and I's second time here. I didn't think they could top our first visit, boy was I wrong. We brought our family this time and Liigino's was just as good if not better this visit. Went this past weekend for a date night. Ambiance was nice. Restaurant was a bit too congested for my taste. Prefer atleast a 2 feet of space between other tables but I would say there was barely a foot between. Almost no room on my table to host apps and entrees on it. Entree wise, the stuffed gnocchi was out of this world. I would come back to this restaurant for that dish alone. This is an ideal place for a special occasion. Before you even walk in, the door is adorned in vines and flowers and you just know you are about to be wowed. And then you walk through the door and yep, sure enough, an absolutely stunning space. Our group of 4 met for lunch around 12 on a weekday and although we had a res, it wasn't too busy at all (but I do think a dinner reservation would be a must). They are BYOB but if you are looking to skip the alc my recommendation would be to get the blood orange soda, even if it is just for the adorable Italian can. We got a margarita pizza and the Frito Misto (calamari & shrimp) for the table. Both delicious and big portions. The lunch menu is mostly paninis, pastas and pizzas, but there are so many options of everything. I decided to get the Chicken Milanese panini: breaded chicken cutlet, arugula, fresh mozz, basil... it was delicious and just as incredible the next day when I had the second half for lunch. I've been dying to check out Luigino's and I'm so glad I finally stopped by. I only came for lunch, so I'd still love to try dinner. Lunch was still an incredible and delicious experience though. First things first, the exterior of the space is absolutely stunning, so I was wowed before even stepping inside. They did such a great job of decorating with pink florals and it's so photogenic. The inside is equally gorgeous and has such a homey and cozy feel. The lunch menu is pretty large and you can find all of the staples like pizzas, sandwiches and salads plus some of their entrees like parms and pastas. We started off with table pizza (a must) and some perfectly fried calamari and shrimp. For my main I had a sandwich with prosciutto, salami and fresh mutz. I think the management needs to do better planning for reservations since there were also so many people outside who had a reservation who ended up waiting. The service in terms of ordering and getting the food was fast but most likely as they wanted everyone out since they were closing in an hour. This place is a solid 4.5 for me. The food is great and for most of the dishes - the flavors were extremely well thought out. The times I've been here, I've really enjoyed ordering the specials. From their main menu (that doesn't change), I enjoy the meat dishes more than their pasta dishes. I've gotten their appetizers twice and the fried items are delicious! This place doesn't sell wine, but if you do bring your own and want it chilled, you can ask - the staff is very accommodating. The ambiance is great here - the lighting is not too dark and not too bright. The entrance doorway was a nice surpise when I first came here (smaller than I thought) but you step into a fairly sizeable and spacious restaurant. But the polento and chicken Parm were full of flavor! Most places have the broccoli rabe but the garlic is usually not sautéed to have the oil catch the flavor of the garlic. But this restaurant had it overflowing! The down side is that their parmigiana meals have a fee for splitting. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The hype is real - this was literally the best chicken parm I've ever had. Like many of those savvy in the ways of social media, I'd had my eye on this place for a while; it's a regular feature on 'best of' lists and gets mentioned constantly in IG Reels about great local restaurants, so it was only a matter of time before I finally got in here. After building up an appetite on the elliptical, my top-tier chum and I came here yesterday for an early lunch, shortly after their doors opened at 11:30am. Full disclosure - about a year or so ago, I attempted to come here with two other chums under similar circumstances, and they were closed for a private party. There was no mention on their online accounts about it even though they'd had a post up from earlier in the day. Was very riled up in the moment. Hopefully that was an aberration and they've learned the error of their ways. Yesterday was deliciously drama-free in that regard. We were unsurprisingly one of their first dining parties of the day and had the option to sit inside or out. It wasn't oppressively hot outside for the first time in a while, but we both thought the inside looked pretty inviting. It's basically Italian cucina with a heavy dash of hipster - lots of exposed brick and a cottage-core wooden chair/table scheme. I liked it a lot; in this area of NJ, you get a lot of the cheesy, desperately trying to mimic villa vibes, and Luigino's is subtly going its own way in that regard. There was no way I was coming over here without trying the vaunted chicken parm, and it was 100% the right call. Just a sensational, enormous dish. I was decently hungry and probably got 70% of this consumed. Every aspect of this is a star - this isn't a thick, bulky, overly fried hunk of chicken; it's thin filets that are just about the poultry. The cheese is prodigious and clearly a high quality, fresh product, and the sauce has just the right consistency and sweetness. Heavenly. My chum got the ravioli off the specials menu that featured short ribs, and was enormously pleased by that as well. I tried one of those and was very impressed. You can't go wrong here. I brought the remaining chicken parm home and it lasted maybe 15 minutes. I don't know where I found the room but something this good doesn't tend to linger in my fridge. The service was very good. We were initially apprehensive because a large, boisterous wedding reception/party was starting to get seated right when we got there but our waiter was attentive and the overall experience didn't suffer as a result of what could have been a distraction by the staff. Our water glasses were consistently filled throughout the meal (the water level for me never dipped beyond 3/4th full), and our waiter stopped by regularly. We weren't in a rush, but this was a relatively quick meal as a result of the efficiency and speed of the restaurant. Very nice. The bathroom was noticeably pleasant as well; I always get a deep sense of foreboding when the person immediately before me comes out and very clearly avoids eye contact, but if there was an issue in there before my visit, I couldn't tell - they have classy scented candles going full blast.
