I've been going to Luigi's place since I was a little kid at the Daly City location. Unfortunate that location closed down years ago but so glad he still has his other location in Pacifica. Finally had a chance to go visit the Pacifica location and it was so great to see that Luigi is still working as hard as he normally does. When I go I always have to buy the Luigi Balls (Rice Balls). Those are the best with extra meat sauce. I can't stay away from those. I even ordered some to go. The rice balls are full of rice, meat and peas that are deep fried and then sits in meat sauce when served. The crunchiness w the meat sauce makes it all yummy. I would totally recommend trying them if you haven't yet done so. read more

I wish I could give this place more stars because Luigi is adorable, but unfortunately the food was pretty underwhelming. I had the fettuccine Alfredo and the sauce was bland; I've had better from a jar. Portions were not very big, either. My husband had spaghetti with meat sauce and he said he sauce was about the same as what we buy at Costco. They ran out of bread when we got there, which was weird because the restaurant was empty besides one large table of people who were eating pizza, and we were discouraged from ordering it because it would take 20 minutes. Well, 20 minutes later our still pasta wasn't out and we put in an order for cheese bread because I was hangry about an Italian restaurant not having bread. It came out maybe 10 minutes after our pasta and was okay, but not great. They also have canned soda, and that's annoying. I expected a lot more based on the reviews and as we were vacationing in Pacifica from out of town it was very disappointing. Our waitress was nice, odd and a little too attentive, but nice. Maybe the pizza is where the real deal is at. We won't be back. Still, Luigi is cute. read more

I went on a very slow night. I was excited to try the rice balls. Loved the crunch but it lacked seasoning and the sauce was not hot. ,y pasta was lukewarm and just ok. I only have two words: RICE BALLS! They are so good, we got an order for dinner and then ordered 3 more to go! Meatball sandwich with meat sauce...YUMMY! The tortellini with pesto was so good, my son probably could have had another order! And the cannelloni was hot and fresh with the delicious meat sauce! We will definitely be back! read more

We were looking for a place in Pacifica, saw the reviews, plus my sweetheart had heard good things, so we went with high expectations. The pizza I ordered was okay; I've had better, I've had worse. It and the bread were kind of doughy like maybe the oven wasn't turned high enough. My sweetie ordered the meat combo lasagna. It looked good until he started digging in. Along with the sausage and pepperoni were clumps of overcooked, SLIMEY looking spinach, zucchini, and maybe eggplant? He is the type that is always polite and always eats what is put before him even if it's horrible. He tried, he really did, but managed only a couple of bites before he knew he couldn't do it. He said that it was greasy, and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge a few day, then reheated. I know it was bad, because like I said he is too polite to leave food, and I've never seen him do that. As others have said, Luigi seems really nice, but the one "serving" us was a bored teenage girl, maybe a granddaughter? She was not interested in being there, and I don't think she smiled even once. It was hard to get her attention as much of the time she seemed to be staring at the counter faced away from us. When she noticed that my sweetie hadn't eaten his food, she offered a box and didn't seem at all surprised when he said he did not. She also did not ask if everything was okay, let alone offer a refund or another dish. We really wanted to like this place, and suckers that we are, are contemplating the possibility that perhaps if we try it again on another evening other than Sunday, maybe we'll have better luck? Awful is what best describes the service and food at this place. I do wonder who in their right fucking mind is giving this place two or more stars because it is misleading and falls right under false advertisement. The highlight of the night was the only dish that was done properly, the bruschetta, served on toasty bread and the tomato nicely seasoned. The rest of the food was a nightmare, The meat lasagna, made with fresh canned tomato sauce and microwaved to a sluggish crisp. Filled with overcooked ground beef and a special guest appearance of an Italian sausage. The gnocchi served with your choice of sauce was salty with the sauce and bland without. The Eggplant Parmesan resemble the shortcomings of the meat lasagna. The baby clams linguine tasted like canned rubber clams with your choice of marinara, Alfredo, and pesto sauce. Well it was bad the first time and worse now. Chicken Scallopini - no resemblance to the traditional dish. Tomato sauce, canned mushrooms and onions chunks floating in olive oil with chicken that looked like it had been pre-cooked, not sautéed in the pan. The garlic bread was a soft french roll with garlic butter. Zuccini was just that - steamed Zuccini. Really poor. The Meat Lasagna was not much better. No visible ricotta, just lots of pasta and oily tomato sauce and salami, you know like thin sliced Gallo salami you buy at Safeway. Went here with the fam a couple of Saturdays ago, I have been wanting to try the restaurant portion. I have already had the pizza and yes, it is good. But the food? UgH!!!!!! I admit, my expectations were not that high but come on. I ordered the fettucine with clams. Now, while I was hoping for fresh clams, I was not expecting them and they surely did not dissapoint. I got a plate full of canned clams, in some cream sauce, on top of some Fettucine. My husband ordered the chicken Parmigiana. I would honestly like to know what the HELL they did to that piece of meat. It had the texture of a sponge, like you were not even really eating chicken. It was disgusting. It would be so easy to up the quality of food at this place, otherwise, my suggestion is to just have pizza and forget about the rest. Yes, yes, yes. Luigi is so sweet. The food at this place is bomb. The rice balls are indomitable. Please do not leave unless you've had at least two rice balls. It is essential. Food here has really gone down hill. The pizza crust was burned, sauce had no flavor and they added so little toppings it was sad. The pizza tasted like cardboard and I threw it away. There was also a woman that worked there, whom was new (I was a regular) that told me Luigi will have to raise prices soon because he is bleeding money (WTH?) what new employee says that to a customer..? No longer a regular. By the way, the other food, besides pizza sucks. Yes, Luigi is from Italy, but his food is not. Don't believe me, go eat there. Sad. PS.. when you order take out, they tell you 30-45 minutes and don't start making your order until you get there, so add another half hour waiting. We read reviews for local restaurants when we stayed in Pacifica, and went to Luigis. This is not a fancy place, and was chilly before it filled up with locals on a week night. What a delight! I had a small pizza and my husband had a sausage sandwich, and we both had the Chianti. Luigi himself was such a sweet man and was working so hard to please a quickly filling place. Although the food was mediocre at best, there's something so splendid about this place! I just got good vibes the entire time I was there! The design is very unique. Place used to be a house I believe and was then turned into a restaurant.. Seems very neighborhood based. I don't see many out of towners making there way in these random cuts of Pacifica. Then Mr. Luigi! What a boss hog! Me and the lady absolutely adored the guy. Very nice and really attentive. You can tell he's been in the restaurant business nearly his entire life. Luigi's is great. Really nice people, good food, cute location. I don't understand how some places all the way in the back of the valley of Pacifica stay in business, but I'm glad they do. I started going to Luigi's back in my high school days when they first opened and it quickly became a hit with my whole family. Luigi himself is such a sweetheart: my littlest bro was probably 3 or 4, and he wanted to have a soda, but he wanted to "make" it himself, and mix his two favorites, Root Beer and Orange (obviously), so Luigi allowed him to go behind the counter and fill his own cup, and also showed him where the pizzas are made. The pizza and garlic bread are very good, I've also had the Rigatoni with Meat Sauce, and can't wait to go back in and try the Arancini. Glad to see Luigi's is still up and running! read more

The food here Is great! But on slower days it seems like only the owner, who is older, is the only one working. This can make the wait time slower than usual. This is not the place for a quick meal or to wait to eat with small children. Portions are averaged sized and for one person at the most. Atmosphere- great music choices, TV, spacious Customer Service- very accommodating, approachable, extremely friendly Luigi's restaurant is one of very few restaurants that makes you feel like you're at home. He checks up on you for whatever you need, jokes around, very humble. I went with a group of 12 with 5 wheelchairs. From the time we parked to the time we left, Luigi came out to greet us. Luigi was our host, waiter, server, all in one because he wanted to be. It made me feel like I was at an Uncle's house to hang out and catch up. Keep in mind this is my first time there. That speaks volume and I will definitely keep coming back and will spread the word. I give Luigi's a 5 star because of the amazing customer service they provided. We love the food and the service is nice, there's a wonderful older gentleman that comes around, I guess he is the owner... very charming.

It's all about the huge rice balls. They are soooo good. Perfectly cooked crispy on the outside soft and warm on the inside. My only gripe is not enough sauce. The sauce is the best meat sauce I've had in a restaurant. I even asked for extra but they did not do it. I have tried other items there and they are ok. I like lots of garlic in my Italian food and there food is pretty bland. Tasty but bland for my taste. Over all I give it 4 stars. Lugi is a nice man and the staff always seems attentive. This is not a fancy Italian place but a family establishment. Great place to bring your kids or to get take out. read more
