I don't know what is with restaurants in this area and their weird vendetta against romaine lettuce. If you're someone who enjoys a Caesar salad: go somewhere else. We came here for a birthday dinner, and I honestly can't think of one good thing to say. The name alone is a red flag -- "Western + Italian"? Whoever thought that combo was a good idea is absolutely on drugs. Speaking of which, our waitress looked like she was tweaking. You could see it in her pupils for god's sake. There's zero professionalism here, which tells me management doesn't give a rat's ass. When I ordered a Caesar salad, she brought me a sad bowl of iceberg lettuce with Italian dressing and said, "The kitchen doesn't make Caesars, so they just gave you this instead." Girl, what?! I waited tables myself for years -- if something's unavailable, you come back and ask if the guest wants to change their order. You don't just throw together whatever crap you can find and call it a day. How pissed would you be if you ordered a burger but, all they gave you was a plate of asparagus?? You'd be pissed! Apps? Forgettable. Tasted like frozen meals with a $17 price tag. Someone at our table ordered a vodka and Coke, and the waitress brought a whiskey and Coke instead. When we pointed out the error, she then argued with us about it until she checked her notepad and realized we were right. And instead of apologizing, she literally said, "Wow, I did mess up. Ssshhhiiittt man..." Like... ma'am. You're at work. Not chopping it up with your pals outside. I ordered fried calamari because at that point I only trusted the kitchen to handle something dropped in oil. It was meh. Smallest portion I've ever seen for $23...... I've gotten better calamari and more of it from a random pizzeria for half the price. It's pathetic when I'm sitting there eating, daydreaming about food from Frank's Pizza. The live band looked like they wanted to slit their wrist's, the atmosphere was dead, and the parking lot was emptier than my will to live after that meal. The whole place feels like a front for money laundering. Because ain't no way this dump is surviving off that chewy prime rib they have the audacity to charge $40 for. And honestly -- with how the economy is right now, people are pickier than ever about where they spend their money. The average fast-food order costs about $15, so when you're paying $30-$40 for an entrée, you expect something that actually tastes good. This place isn't it. Save yourself the pain and just go down the road to Red Wolf Inn. You'll spend about the same and actually get a meal worth eating. Luigi's Rancho? I've had better-tasting food from Wawa. What happened to this great place? Luigi's was one of my favorite restaurants I have so many found memories and no one made prime rib quite as good. However I went for a lobster and clam Thursday and got so sick it was unreal...but things happen, sea food can be tricky. I didn't go back for a while though. Then this past Thursday I decided we should go. Upon walking in I was hit with a smell I looked and said should we go somewhere else it was old sour smell something I never smelled in this building, the menu had changed I ordered ravioli and meatballs. The sauce was the oddest color almost purple, the meat balls were oddly flavored and cool in the middle my salad was good. There weren't more then four tables yet the wait staff only took care of two of the tables like they mattered and our waitress was busy on her hands and knees cleaning the floor then without washing her hand brought to go boxes that she put her hand in the inside of...it was gross. We both felt ill my mom was ill for the entire next day. I just don't know what happened to the place. I hope they start to put the energy and love they once put into their food again but as of now they are not. read more

She even went on to say her boyfriend is a chef and said it was the best he's ever had. So, I ordered the veal parm with spaghetti. My wife ordered the chicken franchaise. I didn't have high hopes from the feel of this place. My wife's dish was soupy and her pasta was way overcooked. My veal was so flat there was barely any meat per bite and it was tough. Overcooked. Went for first time on Easter Sunday. My Brother always raved about this place. Getting inside I really like the Decor, very western vibe. Anyway my brothers favorite was always Sausage,Onions and Peppers. So that what I ordered plus a Clams Casino appetizer. Well let me start with everyone else was pleased with their orders, ( at least they weren't complaining, a good face no matter what? Possibly?) I cannot say the same. I don't believe there were any clams in the Clams Casino, at least I couldn't taste any. Very disappointing. Now let's get to my main course. How to you make sausages come out tough? Now I'm not a chef but I do cook for my family, and I've never been able to make sausage and peppers that require a steak knife to cut the sausage. (Usually I cook mine in tomato sauce and find it's often hard to serve they're so tender). Not so here. Now let's get to service. Now the server was nice enough, a very young woman, and we knew they were closing early, but I asked for some more bread and the girl got a deer in the headlight look and disappeared never to be seen again and nobody bothered to even look in our direction again, and the busboy brought us our check. All that being said, I will probably try this place again, but avoid the appetizers and the Sausage and Peppers. And if it's bad again ( and it's not a holiday cluster mess ). I'll just leave, cause if the kids aren't with me, I will make a scene. So maybe I'll revise this if I go back. But I'm willing to give them another shot on a non-holiday. But for now a reluctant two, and not a one because the kids and grandkids were happy. read more

Food was horrible last Friday night! One guest ordered the stuffed shrimp! Got 4 shrimp, stuffed with mashed potatoes, not a seafood stuffing or crabmeat! Another guest ordered the Veal Parm, it was so tough and overcooked he could hardly cut into it. I got the shrimp parm which was hot but bland. Disappointing. Came here for the first time tonight for their lobster special that they advertised on their social media earlier today. "Every Thursday Lobster special" We ordered it through our waitress who came back, confused and told us they're not doing it tonight and doesn't understand why they posted it on social media, so clearly there's a lack of communication. The woman at the table next to us started choking on her food. Her son was just slapping her in the back, panicking. I am 9 months pregnant. I got up and began the Heimlich Maneuver and another gentleman came over to help as well. Meanwhile, the entire staff was just screaming in the back to call 911 in full panic mode. After the heimlich was successful, i did not receive one thank you or acknowledge from the manager or staff. People choking can be pretty traumatic for people and I didn't see the manager go around to the 3-4 tables that just witnessed this ask if they were okay or just acknowledge what had just happened. Not a single person did anything and a simple thank you or good job would have been nice. Instead, the managers family came in shortly afterwards and she sat at the table with them trying to order the LifeVac off her phone (a choking device) Hopefully you teach your staff anything next time that happens and acknowledge your customers. Also, the mozzarella sticks were terrible, like someone rolled them in sandpaper. The calamari was probably best thing of the night lol which was subpar. Our night went downhill pretty quickly. Consistently delicious, great staff, especially,candy and we love the nostalgic atmosphere. Thursday night is lobster night, we got there too late. So I had one of the specials, chicken and artichokes on rigatoni . It was so delicious. Salad and bread accompanied it. My husband has chicken Marsala supremo, he loved it. We could only eat half Can honestly say we have never had a disappoint here. I cannot say the same thing for several other restaurants who wailty seems to have compromised. Went to eat there last week with friends. The prices on the menu are not the prices when you get the bill. PLUS if you decide you don't want spaghetti (which is the side dish the meals come with) and ask for Angel hair or Penna, its a dollar up charge. Why? I can't stand when they nickle and dime you to death. Pasta is pasta, there is no difference in price. Its there way of making an extra buck!! Plus it depends on who you get. I never got charged to change the pasta before but was told its always been that way. On the plus side the food was good although we had to wait a while and it wasn't that busy for a Thursday. Luigi's Rancho is a rustic style steakhouse, cowboy bar, and an Italian restaurant all rolled into one. Nicely prepared no frills meals that are delicious and filling. Steaks and Burgers are grilled on a perfectly seasoned and flavorful grill. Everything that comes off that grill is excellent and delicious. Nothing fancy about Luigi's just really good food and large portions. This area has just a few options for a sit down meal so this is one of the best local places to eat at. Definitely prepare to put your feedbag on at this restaurant either in the dining room or at the bar. Prompt and friendly service here and plenty of parking in the lot. We've been here several times in the past 15+years and always had a great experience. Good food, great portions, great service. But the last two times were horrendous . The firer of the two I attributed the horrible food to Covid related circumstances . The sauce on my shrimp parm was burnt and horrible. But we returned again last night and aside from great waitress and entertainment it was a disaster. Worse dinner last night I've ever had on top of having to wait over an hour to get it!! Sauce was burnt, fried calamari was undercooked, manicotti was burnt. And they had the audacity to actually charge us full price!! Oh wait they gave me a stale beer on the house!! One of my most favoritest places to eat of all time. I always order their stacked chicken. It is divine! Medallions of chicken breast are topped with spinach and prosciutto and slices of eggplant and covered in a Marsala wine and mushroom sauce. It's a huge plate and it comes with a side of spaghetti with meat sauce and a home made soup. Their house made chicken noodle soup is so delicious! So flavorful and with a hint of lemon to really bring out the flavors. My companion ordered the linguine in white clam sauce. It was so fresh and made with lots of garlic and clean fresh clams. No canned stuff here! An absolute must try! This old place deserves several Michelin stars for the quality of food that they serve. Bravo! Can't wait to drive 1.5 hrs out of the way again to come back here! Everyone should try. This place is an institution and has been around for decades. Horrible customer service and food. The owner told the people that her staff had covid

It's Sunday we spent all afternoon driving the Delaware water gap. Found this place on route 46 in Belvedere. When we pulled up I must admit the sign and front were completely different then what it represented inside. I almost drove in and out of the parking lot. The front door sign advised closing at 8pm and we arrived at 7:45 but they took us in with smiles. Our waitress Alexis was very nice and professional. The place has a country decor with the old red and white checker table cloths. I must say it is very neat and clean inside. For an appetizer we ordered potato skins which were on the thick side topped with a piece of bacon and melted cheese. It was very fresh but nothing that spectacular. Our side salad came out and it was very crisp and cold I enjoyed it. The bowl for the salad was something my mom had when I was a kid, too funny. The meals came with both regular bread and garlic bread which was different and enjoyable. My GF ordered the veal saltimbocca and I ordered the sausage, peppers and onion both came over a bed of spaghetti. Well the dishes came out and the portions could feed three people a dish. Her veal was very good and the amounts of sausage that came with my meal was that of two sausage pepper and onion sandwiches on the boardwalk. To the owner great job on the staff, cleanliness, food and decor. I would recommend to anyone and will return when I'm up that way again. read more

Went to Luigi Rancho to celebrate my birthday with a couple of friends. I have been there before but not for a long time. Had a really great time. The service was a little slow because everyone seemed to arrive at the same time. It wasn't a problem though be cause we wanted to chat and catch up and we enjoyed the live music. The prices were reasonable, the restaurant was full. The Food was very good, we got large portions, the staff was very nice and the live music was great. Well we finally stopped at Luigis. Like others I've driven past this place for years, and I guess it just wasn't time to eat. We went around 4, and the place wasn't yet filling up for dinner. I wish I could've gone here before they completed RT 80, when RT 46 was the way to get to and from PA, I can see where this place would've been hopping. Anyway, a good decent Italian - American Restaurant. Food hot, help polite, efficient, warm, and helpful. It felt good knowing the large table that got sat across from us, was the owner and family. I'm not going to dissect the meal, just know it's good, hot, standard Italian - American Fare, with large portions. If you're on your way to or from PA, this is pretty conveniently located off RT 80, or maybe take the back road for a change. I'll be back. My only gripe? I'd rather have my Mussels Marinara with good old Black Atlantic Mussels, not the New Zealand ones. Oh yeah, awesome coconut layer cake! read more

Have been going to Luigi's for several years. It is a great place to dine with the Exception of one of the servers named Candy. Unless you are one of HER regular customers, all she does is complain and will not give her full attention to you. She constantly mocks and talks about other servers including the owner who is normally sitting customers or tending to the bar. Candy really needs to be spoken to as she really shouldn't act like this in front of people dining. She spends way too much time gossiping with her regular clientele-in fact our table was left to wait 20 minutes until we could get our check as all she was doing was talking bad about the women sitting patrons who were a table of two sitting in the rear of the restaurant. On another note, while you think she is taking your order correctly, there have been at least three times where we have had a large party and our orders all three times came out incorrectly and then she tried to put the blame on the table. I now will make sure to avoid her as I will walk out before I let her serve me. She really needs to be spoken to as this is very unprofessional in a business where she is employed and collecting a pay check. read more

This is the first time we ever came here and I have to say we will be back, even though we are an hour plus away. The staff is very attentive. Compliments to the Chef, everything was delicious from appetizer to dessert. The portions were big and come out hot. They have a great system working there. This is our new favorite place. I have dined here twice now, and while I have never had a bad experience or bad service, I am just not really a fan. The food is ok, but I can't say anything I have ever had was good or great. They do have a rather large menu to chose from. The service was good both times, but what is good service at a restaurant if the food is only ok? My husband tends to disagree with me and he thinks the food is good, and clearly a lot of other people do as well because they are always full. So I say give it a try for yourself. read more

But I stick to simple diner-style dishes here, and things off of the specials menu. If you're looking for super-healthy or gourmet, look elsewhere. Unfortunate slide downhill... there was a time when this establishment could be counted on for a good meal and a fair price with efficient quality service -- no longer the case. I realize getting service employees these days (Dec 2021) is difficult, but establishments must adjust, pivot and find ways to make their experience enjoyable. Turning a blind eye won't cut it. Perhaps remove tables so the staff they do have can adequately do there jobs -- as it stands neither staff or patrons are having an enjoyable time. The new normal shouldn't mean (and we can't allow) crappy service and cold food. Top notch management at a number of quality restaurants have found solutions. We have witnessed a number of occasions at Luigi's where ownership was just socializing with patrons they obviously were friends with and left table after table languishing for a drink or bus assistance -- as though they just could not have cared. So, if you are driving past Luigi's Rancho and wonder if it's worth stopping -- don't. Until they stop acting like it's 2018 it'll most likely be a very frustrating experience. We've worn out our attempts with them. A shame. read more
