My experience tonight at this establishment was terrible from when I walked in until I left, & came back to give them back the food they gave me. Story time: I used the "Too Good To Go" app to buy myself a 3 item meal. This app allows you to purchase a meal at a discounted rate so the business doesn't have to throw food away. This was my 1st time using the app. My food pick up was scheduled for 6 to 6:30pm. I arrived at 6:10pm & the lady at the front didn't even look at me. As she stood at the register, I began to talk & show her the app receipt for my order. She put her finger up & shushed me. I felt her manner was rude, after she motioned to me I showed her my order on the app. Still no eye contact, she seemed upset that I was there. Never truly acknowledging me, she began to prepare my order. She filled the container with 75% noodles that looked like they had been in the tray for a while. The small scoop of rice was dry at the top, also looking like it had been sitting in the tray for a long while. The orange chicken was a few dried up crumbs left in the tray. The broccoli beef looked okay but did not smell right. My 3rd item was a mystery meat & when I asked what it was I was ignored. I don't know if it's because they knew I used the discount app or if that's how they treat & serve food to their customers. I will never ever go back to this place again. I am asking the app for my money back. Even after this in my car I tried to taste the food but I couldn't get past the smell of the broccoli beef, the mystery meat was kinda slimy, the orange chicken crumbled as I picked up a piece & put it in my mouth - I had to spit it out it was not good. Was looking for something to bring to a potluck and came across the rave Yelp reviews for 88 King's Black Pepper Chicken. The reviews were so good, I had to try it. The Black Pepper Chicken is bone-in, cut up pieces of chicken that have been deep fried and then tossed in a garlicky sweet and savory soy-based sauce. NoMG it is good! Crispy and saucy and perfect with rice. The best bits to me are the pieces of chicken skin that have separated from the meat and are like crispy bits of deliciousness drenched in that wonderful sauce. I've purchased this now for 3 dinners and everyone has loved it and asked where it was from. You can buy the BPC as part of a combo meal, or like I did - in an aluminum tray. The nice thing about 88 King is that you can tell them you'd like $20 or $25 etc. worth and they'll adjust the amt of pieces according to how much you want to spend. For $25 ($27.50 with tax) you get a generous amount in the tray. Service is fast and efficient - I always call ahead and my tray is ready and fresh when I arrive. Parking can be packed, but I've never had to wait more than 10 mins for a space to open up. Love the BPC and will be back soon the next time I need a good main dish for a potluck or party. read more

Every time my husband's hospital has a birthday or celebration, he brings me this delicious fried chicken pieces. I always asked him to find out where it was from but he could never find out. Two years later, he brought me a couple pieces after work again and I demanded for him to find out where it was from. Lucky for me, he finally found out that it was from this place. They call it, "Black pepper chicken" and I call it "crack chicken." Ya, it is that good. This place is a fast food Chinese place + donut shop. Odd arrangement. The parking lot is cramped and has very compact parking spaces. I can't imagine evening rush hour. Parking may be difficult. I stopped by after work and bought $20 work of chicken and $5 worth of chow mein. They made my chicken order fresh and put it in a nice container for car travel. The owner was very nice and recommended me to call beforehand to place the order so I didn't have to wait. Since I wanted to make sure I was ordering the right chicken, I wanted to see it in person. For future orders, I'll call ahead. I asked the kind lady for party tray pricing and included in the photos attached. This chicken simply does not disappoint. Not bad for the amount you get too! This place is located in a small plaza, not hard to find. But if you are looking for the sign, just know that it's not super noticeable because it's faded. It is next to a KBBQ place and I think an AYCE sushi place too. Parking is ok, could be harder during rush hour for restaurants. Now the chicken. It. Is. Amazing!! So flavorful and juicy! I do wish the sauce was evenly coated though. Some pieces have waaay too much & it can get too sweet for me. Especially the ones on the bottom. Do not pass on the chicken skin pieces! This little Chinese fast food mixed donut shop may seem a little run down but the food speaks for itself. 1. Black chicken 10/5!!! - crunchy skin, sweet and a little spice, tender. You can purchase as a tray and they give a good amount. Compared to purchasing $1.25 a wing nowadays, this is a steal of a deal. 2. Green bean and pork entree 4/5 - pork is coated with flour and then fried but it was soggy and a little dry cause it's sitting in the juices. Green beans are crunchy and 5/5 rating. Flavor is delicious with its garlicky Asian seasoning 3. Chow mein 3.5/5 - honestly it was at the end of the night and so for sure the chow mein just wasn't as fresh. So I'll do another review when I try their chow mein 4. Jalapeño Ham and cheese croissant 4/5 - I bought 3 in the same batch and it was inconsistent with the amount of ham and cheese per croissant and the distribution of the cheese and ham. One croissant had the ham and cheese only on one side of the croissant and another croissant barely had any cheese, jalapeño and ham. Overall, just based on those few items, I'd recommend giving them a try especially for their crunchy sweet chicken. Drooling thinking about it. read more

This place is half bakery and half Chinese fast food. There are a couple items in the fast food area that are delicious which are the black pepper chicken and chow mein noodles. The black pepper chicken tastes great on the same day as you can taste the crispy skin and the meat part is juicy. When reheating it the next day it gets tough and chewy and the flavors are gone it is pretty much a waste. For the chow mein I like theirs as it does not have a lot of vegetables and plenty of noodles which makes it more filling. If we need to order party trays we usually call a week in advance and they are ready on our pickup time and day. You can order party trays for any of the items in the fast food area and they have different tray size options. The price varies for the party trays depending on what you order as they average between 20-50 dollars and the more meat the dish has, the pricier the tray. Overall, they have plenty of selections and they give a lot per order. As for the bakery shop they sell the usual donuts of all flavors. The later you go during the day the donuts do not look so fresh and they start to look stale. The downside of this place is the parking, it is horrible. The spaces are small and they are so close to the next car that there is a high chance of your car getting scratched if other drivers are not careful. read more

Want some greenery for the house/yard? Various plants are for sale. I frequently dine at Go Hyang Jib for their soondae gook, and sometimes their soondubu. Being a frequent lotto player, it's convenient for me to buy a couple before/after dining at Go Hyang Jib. I'm very picky with Chinese fast food, so I don't care to taste the items at 88 King. The prices seem cheap, though, so dinner can be had for very little money. Also, I rarely partake of donuts, so I can't give 2 cents on the donuts they have here. But, buying lotto is a breeze. The friendly man behind the counter helped me quickly and seemed pleasant in personality. A good number of potted plants are for sale by the donuts. The English/scientific names escape me, but they are quite common in the Asian community. Parking is in a private lot, anchored by a Korean spa. Some spots are 1 hour only, so be mindful of that. Buying lotto is a cinch at 88 King, which is a really rad name.
